Hyatt Regency Tampa Downtown - Tampa

I found this hotel to be a good bit overpriced on the night I stayed, however it was being expensed so what me worry. The staff was excellent and very well trained. However the facilities themselves were quiet aged, and the thermostat in the room didnt appear to do much in terms of making my room the typical hotel igloo I prefer.

We stayed a single night in the Hyatt Regency Tampa Downtown. I'll star off with the cons. It was a good hotel but we paid quite a bit for a single night b/c we bought the business package which included free breakfast, valet, and internet. It turns out the breakfast is for only 1 person even though we told them we had 2 adults and you have to eat it […] in the restaurant and is a limited menu, not the full one so that kind of disappointed me. Also internet is only for a single device, so if you have more than one you have to pay for it to access the internet. But my biggest gripe was that there was no fridge to but sodas, water, milk, etc ... in. For the pros the beads were great and really comfortable, there was a nice marble counter tops in the bathroom, and a flat screen TV that allows you to connect other devices to it such as a computer for watching Netflix, a gaming system, etc ... The flat screen TV was one of the main reasons we choose that hotel over other in the area. We like to hook up the computer and watch movies on the TV. The service was also great. We pre-ordered breakfast and it was brought to our room on time and the server was really nice. So other than the high price and no fridge it was really nice. Lisez la suite

Great service, very friendly staff! Our stay was slightly tarnished by an incident whereby some alcohol went missing from our room one day while the room was being cleaned, but we were compensated appropriately, and management was very apologetic. Staff was very helpful and professional. Hotel is in great condition - very modern. Easy walk to convention center. Otherwise, the surrounding area is plenty safe but fairly uninteresting. Definitely would recommend the overall experience.

I would return for sure. A pleasant stay.

Attentive service and perfect location about 2 blocks from a cheap parking garage alternative to the hotel's parking options.

Did not have a refrigerator or Microwave. This was an extreme inconvenience for a two day stay.

Great hotel. We enjoyed our stay

Very nice and friendly staff that were willing to help with anything. Room was clean and bed fairly comfortable. I would stay there again.

We made reservations for Christmas weekend here by mistake. We meant to go to the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay not the Hyatt Regency Downtown and could not change the reservation. Downtown Tampa is so deserted on weekends that it's actually kinda creepy. Then there's the $18 per day parking charge. Hotel offered Valet Service and the guys who worked the Valet Service were really nice, attentive and were quick to please. I was very happy with the service. The Hyatt has a good crew there.

It was a nice hotel. Dining/bar area was good. Breakfast was nice. Room was very comfortable and quiet - had a nice view of the river. Location was not close to anything we wanted to do without a car. Not many people in that part of town, which made it a quiet location. Valet service was good for the most part. Sometimes you had to go looking for them, […] but this was probably because it was Christmas. If you don't mind being away, it is a nice hotel. Probably better for business. Lisez la suite

This may be a good location if you have business downtown, but definitely not within walking distance of anywhere you would want to go after hours or the weekend. I arrived on Sunday for a Monday morning meeting. The hotel itself is only satisfactory....it needs an update to get past its 80's looking decor.

Called desk at 11:30pm after discovering a "dirty" comforter on the bed. Had to call a total of 3 times and go down to the desk twice before we could get the situation resolved - at 1:00 AM! We were compensated for our troubles with a free breakfast which quite honestly wasn't enough, even though a ham and egg sandwich was $15.00. Hotel was very accomodating in helping out with where to go and what to do while in Tampa. Hotel offers shuttle service to Ybor area (where nightlife is) for $10 each way. Use the Tampa trolley system that is 2 blocks away from the hotel. $2.50 each way.

I was disappointed by the fact that the parking lot was almost 2 blocks away. You can either park on the street or walk a good distance, or pay the fee to valet (nothing was free). The valet attendants were in such a hurry to get you out of the car and then back in it, I felt rushed and shoved in and out (no excessive traffic either). The morning we […] left we called ahead for the car (valet told us to do that) and they said they were too busy to take phone requests... um wasnt that the point of calling ahead for the car? We got to the front and found it to be empty except for one taxi! We waited 10 minutes for the car to be pulled up. I called the front desk for a knife for my food around midnight, and was told it would be right up. 20 minutes later I called back, and was informed by another front desk attendent that the kitchen had closed at 11pm and there were no knives, and they would look for plastic silverware... my food was now cold. I wasnt sure why they couldnt have said that in the first place! They never found plastic, and never sent anything, or called to say that. I ate my steak with my fingers. Overall I was very dissapointed with the staff's way of handling things, they seemed rushed and disorganized. The apperance of the place was nice, the room was great and the bed was comfortable. The "business center" had four old computers running Windows XP with no ports for thumb drives, and no supplies other than pens. The food was comparable to Denny's. The bellhop stood just inside the door while I struggled to get two suitcases into the hotel with a cast on my wrist. The decor is very outdated. Internet service cost money. I stay at the Hyatt about once a month for business and it is ALWAYS a pleasurable experience, the rooms are nice, beds are comfy and the staff is helpful. Besides that it's literally across from my office in Tampa it's a good centrally located location to downtown Tampa.

The hotel staff was professional, warm, welcoming and accomodating. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to get up in the morning. We look forward to staying there on our next weekend in Tampa.

I had a great experience at the Hyatt Regency Tampa Downtown hotel. The location is very convenient (easy walk) to several restaurants and the convention center and the customer service was exceptional. Although breakfast was not included, there are several great breakfast spots nearby.

The Hyatt Brand just ain't what it used to be. Amenities - next to none. Bathroom, just basic. TV not aligned with bed. Just generally very subpar.

This hotel has UNMATCHED service, from the moment you arrive at valet, to the bell man, front desk, concierge, etc. Typical Hyatt quality, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and rooms are nice size. The only negative that I can see, is that I would like a better restaurant inside the hotel, but there are plenty of nice restaurant options walking […] distance from the hotel...again, making it very convenient. I go there for business about 120 days a year and it's been a great experience every time, I highly recommend it. Lisez la suite

We had a great stay, the customer service was fantastic. We had a few routine issues that were fixed immediately. We were close to everywhere we wanted to be at. Tampa Univerdity, the convention center, and the Florida Aquarium. However, not a place to stay if you have kids. Definitely a business oriented hotel. NO kids channels on the tv and $16 ppv […] movies for the kids can add up. The food was convenient and plentiful but the quality was mediocre at best, especially for the prices. Breakfast was excellent though, just lunch and dinner. I expect high prices when I stay at a hotel like this, but the food quality should have been up to the level of the service quality. Granted we will be coming back in the sporing for the next Tampa event, we just will look outside of the hotel for dinner options. Lisez la suite

Excellent Hotel with very friendly employees nice and relaxing

This is our second visit to the Hyatt Regency Tampa Downtown and we are looking forward to returning again in August. The "awaken" package includes a complete breakfast and is an incredible deal. The rooms are clean and well furnished and the staff is courteous and helpful. We were really pleased to learn that the trolley now has a new stop only one […] block from the hotel making it easy to get to Channel Side, the St Pete Times Forum and Ybor City. The pool and hot tub are on the roof at the 5th floor level, and the facility is clean and relaxing. Our only complaint would be that we did not have bar service at the pool area. If your visiting Tampa Downtown and want to be near Channel Side, The Forum, and close to the Port of Tampa you wont go wrong staying at this hotel. The bar , Restaurant, Starbucks inside the hotel, free daily News papers, refreshing lemon aide at check in, and courteous staff will make you want to return. Lisez la suite

Beautiful Hotel, excellent location

very nice and resonably priced hotel in downtown tampa. walking distance to stadium. also close to trolley. very good personal. nice pool and spa. vallet at hotel but self park across the street. not much for nightlife near hotel, small restaurants and no clubs, but can take trolley to ybor. ride takes 20 min.

I was really impressed with the quality of the rooms at the hyatt. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was more perfect and really quiet. Overall a great hotel.
