Hotel vieillot mais relativement propre. Personnel agréable à la disposition des clients. Emplacement idéal à promité des différentes lignes de métro , de la Vème avenue, de Times SQuare. Pensez à réclamer des serviettes de bain qui sont distribuées au nombre de brosse à dents présenté dans la salle de bain.

Hôtel agréable, petit déjeuner servit de 6h30 à 9h30 correcte (ne pas arriver trop tard), station de métro ( 39 Av ) à 3min à pieds qui vous mène en 9min à la 5ème Avenue. Chambre spacieuse et bien équipée.

"Intercontinental Barclay"
This was a beautiful hotel. The lobby and public rooms were gorgeous. The rooms were a bit small and the beds were only full size, but they were very comfortable. The bathroom was also a little small but the closet was very large, so that was appreciated. The location was not the best but was only a couple of blocks to Grand Central Station and the […] subway so it was still easy to get places. All in all, I would still recommend this hotel. "Intercontinental - Barclay in NYC - E 48th & Lex"
The hotel was in a great location - close enough to everything where it's a 10-15 dollar cab ride but far enough away from the insanity that is Times Square. Also walkable to 5th Ave and to Bloomingdales. Rooms were clean but dated eg. Tube TV but an iPod dock, yay! Bathrooms are SMALL. Pleasant, old-style hotel in a great location. Good service, but I feel there are more attractive options for less money in the area.

The only draw back to the location is it is close to the United Nations building. Which, if you have business at the UN is great but if there is something going on there ,people stay at this hotel. That makes it tough to get a cab from time to time because of all the traffic in front of the hotel. BUT, I would definately stay there again and plan a […] little better catching a cab. "one of the classiest lobbies in NYC"
The hotel staff were nice and welcoming. The lobby is one of the nicest I have seen in a while. very warm and elegant. However, I wish one day that hotels drop prices of food and room service because i just don't see why they should be this expensive.

I arrived at this hotel Friday, May 20, 2011 it was raining, when I exited the cab the door man was there to help me, when I got inside the bellman took my bags and helped me. The desk person was very nice. I was exhausted wet and cold. The room was warm and inviting, Room service brought me coffee and food. I was smiling! Such a nice place. Praises […] from the rooftops.. Idea location for Central Manhattan. Able to walk to Grand Central Station in 5 minutes also Times Square very near. Rooms were very nice if a little noisey. Not the hotels fault as roadworks being done outside in Lexington Ave. Beds were heavenly and very big. Would defineately use again when in New Yoek.

My wife and I came in for some much needed R & R and the staff at this hotel did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Comfortable, clean room and top notch service. We will be back.

"Great stay at the intercontinental"
We had a really great stay in New York at this hotel. We were plesently surprised by how clean and comfortable our room was, much better than some hotels we have stayed in for a similar price. The bed was massive with plenty of comfortable pillows, a feather topper and good duvet. It was always clean and the bathroom was fine. Excellent Stay. Staff courteous and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast Buffet delicious. Good location. Easy access to rest of NYC. We enjoyed everything!
"Barclay Intercontinental - A+"
We've stayed here a number of times and are spoiled with its consistency. Beautifully maintained with a great location to start out from. Subway is a short couple of blocks to the north, Grand Central a few blocks to the south. Check out the market at Grand Central!

The most noticeable thing in this hotel is its beautiful and elegant lobby area. One of the classiest lobbies I have seen in NYC so far. The thing that I don't like about all hotels is the expensive food and laundry service. There is no reason for it to be that expensive. simply this should and will change sooner or later. I ordered two friend eggs […] with a glass of fresh orange juice (it wasn't fresh at all) and a small plate of fruit for breakfast for $80!! now that is disgusting! but i have to say all hotels are like that. so just don't eat there. Excellent hotel. You always have in the back of your mind the hotel will not live up to your expectations but this hotel did. The check in process was fast and friendly. The hotel itself is lovely. I was very disappointed with this hotel. There was no bathrobe in the room and I was told that you had to request a bathrobe. Each morning I noticed there were papers delivered to other rooms and not mine. When I called guest services, they said that was impossible. If this was holiday inn, I would have been satisfied. Beautiful hotel. Room was comfortable and large enough, particularly by NY standards. Great value as well. Staff was prompt and courteous. Would certainly return there on our next trip.

"Great place to Stay not Drink"
Loved the Hotel, Location and people. The drinks in the bar are super rediculous in price even for New York. Paying a premium for the New York Hotel experience is one thing, being mugged is another. Fortunately the neighborhood has many other place nearby to have a nice quiet drink without the need for a mortgage
Next time that you stay with us, be sure to try our happy hour or our drink for a cause where (drink is $12) $2 goes to our Charity for the month. This month we have our Orange-Aid - a orange Mojito topped with Prosecco; the best part is that proceeds go toward fighting hunger in the city.

"Regal hotel but missing key ammenities"
Lovely lobby, great staff, fantastic location. I booked the King Deluxe room but felt there was nothing at all deluxe about it. The tv was a relatively small, old, TUBE tv. There was no complimentary bottle of water but rather a medium size bottle of Evian for $7 USD? No turn-down service, and the bath tub was practically child-sized--I've not even […] seen one this small in France! On the postive side---the complimentary breakfast was delicious with a luxurious selection. The mattress was new and extremely comfortable and the linens were plush and well laundered. The hotel I'm sure is a fine one. The public spaces are very nice, if a bit ornate. But my specific room was very much in need of a freshening. It verged on the shabby. Apart from the fact that it was on the small side, it was just old. There was peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. And the areas behind the bed and nightstand had a large amount of dust. The hotel was comfortable and what we expected. The location was great for site seeing, being very close to one of the open top bus pick up and drop off points. The hotel itself is probably living off past glories. The room was a reasonable size, but he bathroom was tiny. The loo was jammed in against the wall and the whole bathroom was in urgent need […] of refurbishment. The hair drier was broken, and the toilet seat was a very cheap wobbly plastic one. The Corridors were a tobacco smoke brown which gave the hotel a very tired look. But then again we didn't come to NY to spend all our time in our hotel room. Spent one night in lovely room. Check-in (we were early) smooth and easy - great staff! Location was central to our plans for our first day. Walked to Sony Wondertech Lab, Central Park, shopping. Concierge provided great recommendation for dinner with my young child. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a tad old (chipped tiles, etc.), […] but clean and just fine. All around a fantastic experience and would return at any point. Thank you for a great stay in NYC! "Great location"
The hotel is located on the East Side in midtown around the corner from the Waldorf Astoria and Benjamin Hotels. New York is a 'walking' city, so this hotel is great for getting to the UN, Central Park, Madison and 5th Avenue shopping, Rockefeeler Center, Radio City Music Hall, etc. Clean, good service. Cons: Too easy to hear guests next door.
