Even though during our stay the hotel was under rennovations, it was still a pleasant experience. We never heard the noise of the construction. Our room was very nice and clean. The hotel is very conscience about conserving energy and places notes on the towel racks and pillows to please reuse your linens, however they will replace them at your request. […] The thing I was dissatified the most with was the breakfast. There wasn't very many options and the buffet was set up in a small area with few tables (due to rennovations) and was very crowded with guests. This hotel is only 8 miles from a casino and greyhound race track. The casino is a small venue, but was fun. There is also a mall very close by called Charleston Town Center. Several chain restaurants close by (TGIF, Red Lobster, Applebees) and the hotel will provide directions for all. The attendants at the front desk very helpful for finding food and attractions. Their parking lot is very small, but they may have plans for enlarging it once rennovations are complete. Once they complete all the construction this hotel will be very nice. We will stay here again if we are in Charleston, WV. Lisez la suite

This hotel is badly located and is under construction. Would have never stayed there if another hotel would have been available that took pets.

The Staff of the Ramada Plaza are extremely helpful and very customer focused, so once the Renovation is complete this will be a great hotel to stay while in the Charleston Area.

We enjoyed the overnight stay very much. The staff was very accomodating. Thank you again.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel...we booked ahead of time online thinking that the Ramada would be a decent place to stay for the night during our long drive home. We were exhausted and just wanted a good nights sleep. The bathroom tub & floor were filthy. Obviously care isn't put into cleaning the hotel rooms...I pulled back the flat sheet […] to discover that the sheets were not even changed from the last person....absolutely disgusting would never stay at another Ramada again!!!! After arriving we discovered that the location was less than desirable and, although we specically selected this location because of the pool (we were traveling with three small children) it was closed. We moved to another hotel.

Staff were very pleasant; the room service was excellent; but the surrounding neighborhood was less than desirable and Hotels.com did not note they were currently renovating. I admit renovation is wonderful, but three evenings driving 7 miles to swim because the pool was closed, was not convenient. However, I would stay there again once the remodeling […] is completed. Despite my expectations being incredibly low, the squalor of the hotel and the heavy construction taking place made the experience unbearable. When we checked in, we noticed heavy earth-moving equipment just outside the window of our room. When we asked the front desk what time the construction would begin in the morning, they said 9 am -- not 7 am. […] They also refused to give us a different room because we were traveling with dogs. We always stay at this hotel when visiting relatives. We love the breakfast, the parrot and the new upgrades.

We were so impressed with this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was courteous and friendly, the room was immaculate, and the front desk staff were amazing! We were in Charleston for a funeral the following day so the hotel offered us a bereavement rate, so we stayed an extra day. Then, We went to dinner at the restaurant, the food was delicious […] and reasonably priced. Our waitress was excellent and even remembered it was our 2 month anniversary the next morning! We wanted to go out and have a drink later, the hotel provided a free shuttle service to where we wanted to go, and gave us their card to call them when we were ready to be picked up. The bed was extremely comfortable. It has been a long time since We've had this kind of service. Also, what a surprise it was to open the curtain in the morning and discover a train going past, I couldn't hear a sound! They were renovating part of the hotel, but again, absolutely no noise! The Hotel does not have a pool at this time - they made and agreement with the Hampton for our youth group to visit their pool which was very nice of them and something they did not have to do.

the staff at this hotel is exceptional!!!!! besides just being an over all very nice hotel, the staff really goes above and beyond the call of duty. From the time you check in (Nate at the front desk at night) to the awesome bar tender/everything woman in the bar/restaurant. They really make you feel like you are coming home or as much as it can be […] called home. I have stayed here now approx 6 times in the last 7 months and I would recommend it to everyone.. We stayed in this hotel and it smelled like there were rotten eggs everywhere. They were doing construction and the pool was closed. Our room led to a view of a hotel staff member's office that was messy and run down. It was very uncomfortable to open our curtain and see that person working at her desk. I am not a picky hotel stayer but the horrible […] smell and the fact that the pool was closed was a real bummer. Also the breakfast was great. That was the one good thing about this hotel. Stayed at the Ramada Plaza in Charleston in July. The service was great and the room was clean, and very nice. Very comforable, with a mini-fridge and microwave too. The staff was very helpful and polite. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Charleston. Plan to book there for my next visit.

I will admit that, as an environmental health professional, I am picky about cleanliness, but this was horrible. We had a coffee spill (I hope) down the wall in the bedroom and in the bathroom running down below the coffee maker. The floor was so dirty we did not take off our shoes and we had to park in the street as they had run out of available parking. […] The staff was very nice and well-meaning but the facility was in very poor shape. I hope they take more care after the remodel but I won't be back to find out. Lisez la suite

Looking for a quiet time for myself and all I got was noise noise and more noise construction going on at my window all day through the week saw running construction men. Had the half the parking lot closed off so parking was inpossible from all the work trucks .Rooms were nice my house keep did not do a really good job.

The hotel is run down and is in the process of a renovation...wait until it's finished! The rooms were "two decades ago" and not at all what I would consider of the Ramada quality. I was disappointed in the hotel. I will wait until the reno is complete before staying again. Hopefully the rooms will be updated, too.

After a long drive I was greeted by the hotel manager on duty. He was very helpful and friendly and told us about all the available amenities and local area. The other nice thing was the hotel had a restaurant in house. I would stay there again if traveling through the area. It appeared to be the best deal around and one of if not THEE nicest establishments […] avail. so win win! Pool area was closed but it looks like it will be great when it is open. Lisez la suite

I selected this hotel because of the outdoor pool and fitness room. When my daughter and I arrived in mid June, the pool and sauna were drained and supposedly being cleaned. Why can't this be done in non-peak vacation months, prior to summer? During our 24 hour stay, I did not see any work being done on the pool. Stayed one night while passing through town. Everything was good enough for one night. Staff was friendly and helpful. We left before breakfast so I cannot comment.

This hotel was wonderful, very clean, and family friendly. My kids could swim, relax in the hot tub all in doors. They also have comedy zone on Friday and Saturday nights. Hotels.com had messed up my booking bout at 10:30 at night the manager did accomidate us with a beautiful suite. Wasnt the room i had booked but it was better, and he gave it to me […] for the same price. Our stay was amazing. Lisez la suite

The hotel lobby looked very nice. Staff was friendly. The room on the other hand was smaller then I expected. The mini fridge kept making noises that kept me up and we ended up unplugging it. My kids really enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. Overall, good for the money.

By using hotels.com we had to take whatever room was there... so we ended up with a handicap accessible room which meant no tub, but the shower was nice and roomy. Hotels.com said it would be a king sized bed with sofa bed/rollaway, it was not included. However the management was accommodating and gave us the rollaway anyhow. I kinda liked the big shower, […] the bedding was really nice, room was clean and smelled good. The pool area was like a huge greenhouse, very nice! If the pool was heated, it didnt feel like it, but my husband and daughter had fun in it anyway. Food was ok, the usual for hotels, but ok. I would definitely stay again. I really like this hotel! Not only does it have comedy shows on Friday and Saturday nights but also a bar and good food. It is only a short cab ride to the downtown bars. The beds and especially pillows are comfortable and they allow late check out if needed. I will definitely stay here again.

It is nice hotel but they were not accommodating to our needs despite the fact that there was hardly anyone there that weekend.

They do have a doggie treat bag to give, but was disappointed to find out that dogs are only suppose to be in smoking rooms. They did make an exception for us since my husband and daughter are very sensitive/allergic to smoke.

The carpet was so dirty we wore our shoes all the time. There were no pillow cases on the pillows when we called front desk they informed us they were out. Room was very small, not table or chairs in the room. Very disappointing for the money

The hotel was obviously under going renovations which I think caused the elevators to be unmercifully slow. Waiting 5 minutes to go down one floor because there were no convenient steps. The pool area was very nice but it could use a little more pool and a lot less deck. The breakfast was good, but the restaurant was lacking in both quality and service. […] Overall it was a nice stay, but for service and convenience it is way overpriced.
