The Sutton Place Hotel - Vancouver - Vancouver

Why is it that they charge $40 for parking (PLUS tip) & $20 for internet when all other hotels do not charge... These are the times when you need to look around and find out the extra hidden costs... That's all I have to say!!

My best friend and I have an annual 'girls weekend' in Vancouver and do all our Christmas shopping together. We had a wonderful time at the Sutton Place - attention to detail was amazing and the hotel itself was beautifully kept with friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel highly.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location, excellent staff ,and got an awesome 50% discount The only negative was parking was very expensive, but valet service is available at no extra charge.

Room was not stocked with coffee, tea, etc. For a hotel which markets itself as an upscale hotel, it was a little unimpressive. Free internet was not offered as it is in competitive locations, 2 blocks north. News papers offered were not delivered.

Fabulous stay. Everything you want. Great staff and service.

I stayed four nights at the Sutton Place hotel after reading reviews and ratings. The mid-week stay was for a leisure trip in Vancouver. The GOOD: convenient location, very clean hotel, 4+ star rating, bedding was elegant and very comfortable. I have stayed here every year for about 8 years now...and have always been more than pleased. A little bit of Europe just a short hop from L.A.

Beautiful room and exceptional service

Excellent location by Robson and Vancouver Art Gallery. Comfortable rooms with every needed amenity. Very helpful and personable staff. Parking expensive but this is downtown Vancouver. Object to paying for internet - should be included in the room rate. Would recommend this hotel.

My sister and I stayed at Sutton Place in downtown Vancouver for the weekend. As usual everything was wonderful at the Hotel. Our rooms were clean and quiet, and conveniently located to all the good shopping. We were very satisfied, and would stay there the next time.

Very nice hotel with excellent service but it must be close to a fire station we heard sirens all night long so bring some ear plugs!!

This is an expensive hotel, that was on sale, so we stayed there. We had to be at meetings near the convention center, and this was about eight blocks away walking distance. The hotel is kept up nicely, but the staff is looking for tips almost continuously. Restaurant at hotel is pricey. Room was small, but clean, and we had a nice view out on Burrard […] Street from the 12th floor. I might stay there again, at the right price. It was nice, but I would not stay there at full price. My wife and I stayed for 5 nights for our vacation in Vancouver. This hotel has a lot to like. It's centrally located in downtown Vancouver w/ great restaurants, subway and bus stops, etc. It has very adequate amenities like a safe and frig in the room, pool and Jacuzzi, coin operated laundry room, restaurant, and gift shop. We've been to plenty of nice hotels, but the employees at The Sutton Place were the nicest, most prompt, courteous and helpful ones we've ever met! For instance, I had accidently and unknowingly turned off our room safe so it wouldn't lock. I called the front desk and asked if someone could fix the issue before we left for breakfast. We assumed we'd have to wait at least a few minutes before anyone would come by. Were we wrong! It's not an exaggeration to say that only about 30 SECONDS after I hung up the phone for the service, a friendly hotel employee knocked on our door and had the problem fixed in a matter of a few more seconds! From the moment we arrived we were treated like Royalty. Staff were very accomodating and courteous. The beds were heaven!! Restaurant breakfast absolutely delicious - mmm!!!

The Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver is a 5-star hotel, for sure (I.e. Somewhat snooty & exuding a 'better than thou' aura), but lacking in any distinguishing features or character. Oh - and the WiFi access in our room was exceedingly poor, as was the response to our concerns re: this advertised feature of the hotel. While this hotel has a great location and a wonderful staff, I was not happy with out room which was small, with small beds, no coffee maker, and a bathroom with grout that needed a good cleaning. Guests checking out early will find no food or coffee available. Restaurant opens at 7 AM, not before. We went to the bar the previous evening and the service […] was excellent, but the menu needed better selections. Food was of poor quality for big prices. I expected to be charged more in a hotel, but I also expect high quality food that is well prepared. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in the Sutton Place kitchen. My husband made this reservation online and I did not know what to expect. This is a very lovely boutique-like hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Great, hard working staff. Outstanding city center location - easy to get around. Room was immaculate.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Sutton Place hotel in Vancouver. The hotel was located within walking distance to the shopping district and major restaurants. Great service and European style ambiance. the only negative was a fairly noisy cooling system in our room!

I went up for the weekend with my wife and we stayed at this wonderful hotel. The location was perfect, right by the famous Robson street and many other hotels. The service was wonderful and everyone was very attentive. The resturant was fabulous as well. Great service and food, its expensive, but a great value with the ambience and the staff and the […] food. The room was so comfortable and the bed was plush. The bathroom was all marble and beautiful. The view was great. The only thing that I found wrong, much of the wallpaper was starting to peel up and you could see the seams. This is an absolutely superb hotel. Probably the most comfortable beds out there. So when I'm sitting up in this great bed trying to get a WiFi connection for my iPad, why am I getting a message asking me to pay for a subscription to the hotel's WiFi service? Seriously. You're a top end hotel. Providing WiFi access for your business guests should be […] as automatic as putting towels in the bathroom. We recently stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel for 1 night. The hotel itself is very beutiful and a great location since it is right downtown and accessable to so many venues. The staff were very nice and made us feel at home. What I loved most of all was the design of the room. Instead of the regular straight rectangular hotel room, This room was designed […] so that there was a sitting room seperated with a small narrow passage to where the bed was. The room had 2 huge bay windows that made the room so bright. I like that the room had already a bar and treats in the room that we could purchase on a whim. The location was great and condition of the hotel and room was very good. Staff was very helpful. Had to pay for parking and wireless service after paying so much for the hotel room I was expecting these services.

Great downtown location, beautiful views of city, ocean, and mountains!

This was a wonderful hotel stay and the staff were very helpful. Jennifer at the Concierge desk in particular was wonderful, helping us rebook our flight after the airline cancelled the trip due to inclement weather. The room was beautiful and everything was very clean. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms are too small and old I booked with two adults and a child and they put me in one KIng bed room The only alternative they gave me was two twins! If I wanted the two queen they asked me to pay more We ended up putting a rollout bed in that tiny room. AND the parking was outrageously expensive $39 per night

great hotel in the middle of downtown Vancouver. very helpful staff, easy access to sites, shopping and restaurants.

This was the right hotel for our family, including our 3 adult children. Well located, reasonably priced, very helpful staff.

Good location, the rooms are small but adequate. Rates seemed rather high, but we received free parking, a free bottle of wine and free breakfast which brought the rates down to a reasonable rate.

This hotel is a first class hotel, convenient to Stanley Park, the waterfront, movie theatres, restaurants and shopping. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and the fitness room was top notch. The parking charge is steep, but we did not have to drive around because everything was convenient to the hotel.

Our stay in the Vancouver Sutton Place was fabulous. The room was elegant and the view on the 12th Fl. was outstanding. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver. The area is safe and close to the harbor area where it is great to stroll during the evening.

Just stayed there for the 4th time. Yet again reminded of why it is my favorite hotel in Vancouver. The staff are so friendly, yet professional. Such a lovely European feel.
