TRES BON SEJOUR.

"Convenient hotel"
Regular holiday Inn in a fairly bad neighborhood.
"Freezing hotelrom"
Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, but no fridge and the treadmills in the fitnessroom needs to be repaired. But the worst problem was the windows, which are old and should be replaced. There is much weather in San F., and even when the windows were closed, they gave no protection against the freezing wind. And the noisy aircondition/heater didn't help […] at all. Lisez la suite

"Nice Place for a downtown SF stay"
Hotel is pretty much what you would expect from a branded large hotel. The rooms were clean and comfy enough, the staff are as nice to you as they have to be. The neighborhood is well, half fancy half ghetto, typical of SF tenderloin district. The front desk aren't too knowledgeable of the area either, which was kind of a shame. Like asking if anywhere […] is open to eat at 3am on a Saturday night resulted in the answer of "Carl's Jr" which is down on market street and is surrounded by crack heads and bums especially at 3am, not a very tourist friendly suggestion. A few calls from the local in room yellow pages lead to more choices that even delivered. Just don't use the in room phone it's $0.50 for a local call. Also you have to pay for parking, even if you are a hotel guest, which works out to be about $40 of so. But all in all, this was a descent place to stay. Lisez la suite
"Holiday Inn (Civic Center)"
Overall our stay at the Holiday Inn was pleasant. The one thing I need to point out is the bathtub in the shower was clogged as the water did not drain properly and accumulated as it ran. Not too pleasant!!!!
"It was like staying on another planet."
When booking hotels, I always go for the cost-effective option. I don't stay in downtrodden motels - but usually one or two steps above that level. For my trip to San Francisco, I was amazed at how expensive the hotels were - $400, $450, $500 a night seemed standard. I checked some other hotels downtown - literally a mile and a half away from these […] lavish and luxurious places - and found a Holiday in that would cost less for two nights. Score. Or not. In San Francisco, a mere mile and a half can be the difference between life and death. I found myself sleeping in the uber-ghetto. As I drove from the airport to the Holiday Inn, I noticed that at every stoplight there were panhandlers standing in front of my car and kids offering me all kinds of illicit drugs. I navigated through the squalor and found myself in a parking garage. A rather unsecured parking garage, with plenty of places for people to hide and jump out to stab me repeatedly. I sprinted to the elevators and for a moment I was at peace. During the first night I was so tired that I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But the second night... The time change was throwing me off so I was in bed at 8:45 PM. I could hear a lot of yelling coming from the room next door, or maybe it was the one above or below mine. From the street, there were cars honking, police and ambulance sirens, and the blood curdling screams of the night walkers. To take myself out of these surroundings, I wrapped my face in a bedbug laden blanket and was asleep (or mildly asphyxiated) within moments. 4:04 AM. This is what the clock was flashing when I first noticed the noises. The sounds of someone trying to cough their lungs out of their mouth in a failed attempt to breathe. It sounded as if this person was smoking glass shards and then getting punched in the stomach. I was scared - for myself and for them. The coughing was so loud and intense that it filled my entire room, so I was unable to tell where it was coming from. I Lisez la suite
"OK"
This Holiday In was just ok. I stayed over New Years and they took anvantage of this and drastically raised their price. It was close to the Civic Center which was nice. Restuant/Bar in lobby was only open for 4 or 5 hours a night. Overall, I think that I can get a WHOLE lot more for my $$$$ at another hotel.

"Holiday Inn Civic Center"
The hotel itself is ok. Failry basic and a little pricey for what it was. The surrounding area is well dodgy and wouldn't recommend it. My fiancee was with me for nmy business trip and I didnt feel safe her walking around the area especially alone. Easy access to down town was convenient.
"NICE HOTEL"
Really close to every public transportation (walking distance) Our room was in the top floors so could only be access with room key (that felt more secure) Was clean

"great service"
I got a non-smoking room, but when I got there it was a smoking one. they've given us an upgrade and it's amazing! thanks!
"Run Down hotel"
I have recently stayed at this hotel and all I can say is that I wouldnt return. Parking 35 USD + taxes which is not cheap for this location( many homeless people around the neighborhood and not much choice of restaurants) However and this is why I would def. not return to this hotel, the staff is extrremely unhelpful and not helpful at all. The best […] was the breakfast staff and the guy at the bar.....disasterous , unfriendly but they the courage to informing you that you need to tip them, wow. Careful when you want to enjoy a drink at the bar. In case you find a clean table dont wait until the barman will take your order, get it yourself and be also prepared to clean the table from previous guest. I was only there to sleep but would def. not come back Lisez la suite

"Holiday inn civic center-san francisco-scary"
We were misled by the online description and lobby photos, this was a pretty run down hotel in a very scary location and to top it off the rooms were tiny!!!! Would never book there again.
The hotel was very nice . the only thing i didn't like was the location the civic center is not the best location with children.
"Holiday Inn Civic Center San Francisco"
It was nice. Not what I asked for but ok.
"Holiday Inn Civic Center San francisco"
the balcony is extremely small, the bed was not comfortable at all, and the room smell even though we stayed in a non-smoking area. I've stayed in better hotels for that same price.
"Great location for watching SF Symphony, Opera"
The Holiday Inn Civic Center is a fantastic location if you're going to see shows at Davis Symphony Hall, San Francisco Opera, Bill Graham Auditorium, or SF Ballet. It's a very short, easy walk to the "cultural" district of San Francisco. You may have to walk a bit further to get good food, but a 10-15 minute walk will get you to some of the best food […] in the city: Zuni, Paul K, Le Jardinere, etc. This is doesn't feel like the safest area in the city, but that's just a misperception - it's actually very safe. We walked around at night and never felt nervous/threatened. It's not a super-fancy, but it's a great place to stay overall: the rooms are clean and well-lit; the amenities are decent; the staff is helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we come up for more shows. Lisez la suite
"Holiday Inn Civic Center San Francisco, CA"
Overall stay --good --location excellent --additional costs for use of parking garage but very accomodated upon check-out...able to leave vehicle in a safe a secure location...beds a bit uncomfortable...this was a last minute reservation and must say okay for the money. I would stay again.
"Don't Eat The Food"
The service at this hotel was good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The overall condition of the hotel was good. Normally I would recommend a hotel based on those two things but I didn't recommend it for a few reasons. 1. No hot water. I was pretty sore from walking around the day before and really wanted a hot shower to relax the muscles but […] the best I got was lukewarm. I had it turned on full hot, but it never got warm. 2. The breakfast was terrible and expensive! I paid $20 for bacon that looked and tasted like it had been cooked the day before, potatoes that were cold and tasted old, scrambled eggs that were not done and bread that was suppose to be toasted. And the coffee was horrendous!! I normally can drink coffee no matter how bad it is but I couldn't drink this coffee. The in room coffee was better. As for the neighborhood it was an odd mix of upscale shopping and peep shows. I made sure I was back to the hotel before it got dark out. Lisez la suite
"nicer than i expected"
I loved the open balcony cuz I always need fresh air. Vending machine was out of everything but room service was great! Parking is expensive but there was plenty of street parking but if ur meter is broken u need to put a bag on it! I didn't and I got a ticket... overall it was a great stay. I loved the lobby atmosphere
"decently clean and located hotel"
Hotel is one of the recently renovated holiday inns, room is nice, comfy bed, flat screen tv, etc. Bathroom was ok, served its purpose. Location is pretty solid given it takes less than 10 minutes to walk to Hayes Valley, Union Square, and convention center, and its literally 2 blocks away from beautiful city hall. Staff was responsive, helpful. Would […] stay here again given decent price vs. other options Lisez la suite

"Holiday inn Civic Center San Francisco"
It was a good last minute hotel reservation . There was an good view of the city. The hotel is walking distance to a shopping center and not a far drive from Fishermans Warf.
"Convenient to transportation and popular sites"
The hotel staff was very courteous and convenient. My room was comfortable and clean and the hotel is located near the subway and trolleys close to several museums, galleries and shopping.

"nice hotel."
It,s nice hotel. I am satisfied. If I go to san francisco again, I will stay again.
"Has to be Civic Center? Holiday Inn is good."
Civic Center is not a nice neighborhood. I stay in hotels in San Francisco about 40 weeks a year, and Civic Center is always a last resort area when everything else is booked or overpriced. That being said, the Holiday Inn is a good hotel and well-priced. Pros: Good service, nice facilities, plenty of amenities. Cons: Thin linens, slightly trashed […] pool/patio area, fairly thin walls. If you have to stay in Civic Center for some reason, this is about as good a hotel as you're going to find. Lisez la suite

"Good hotel for a night or two"
The hotel was better than it looked from outside. The room was clean and decent and the bed was comfortable and it had a small balcony which was nice to see the lights of the city. The front desk man was not very helpful and insisted that my room did not come with free breakfast. I told him my confirmation clearly stated that it did and he said there […] was no way it said that. When i found my confirmation, it DID show full breakfast but i didn't get it. All in all, i would recommend it for a night or two just to stay in SF at a good price. I was there for a concert at Slims so it worked out great for what we needed, a place to crash for the night. "Holiday Inn Civic Center San Francisco - Stay away"
$35 for parking! Are you kidding me! What a joke this place is. On top of that there was not place to even park while you checked in. Stay away at all costs.
"Decent hotel for the price, with a few catches!!"
I was in San Fran for a conference, so I expected the printer in the business center to work. When I went to the front desk, they were already aware of the problem and not too keen to help me out. They even suggested that I walk over to the public library (instead of fixing the problem)... We were charged for one every day of our stay. We needed the […] refrigerator to store our baby's milk - how can the customer be charged for a necessity? However, we weren't charged for the microwave (which was necessry to heat up our baby's milk and food). Customer service was great. Room service was great and accomodating. Lisez la suite
"Holiday Inn - Convention Center, liked it"
I liked the hotel. It is in a rough neighborhood, but I didnt mind. The bus/trolley is right next to it, so you can get to the Ferry place and Fishermans really easy. Parking was expensive, but they invite you to keep your car there for the whole day after you check out. The room was great, pillows were great! The front desk was friendly. I would go […] back. "this place is HORRIBLE!!"
The rooms are old, the internet services was soo slow that i couldnt even check my email!! There was no breakfast offered, not to mention the $35 bucks extra PER NIGHT for parking!!! It's close to public transportation which is good since its a long walk to Union Square. The hotel is maintained well and in great condition. However, I would not recommend this location for women traveling alone.
Service was poor, rude and understaffed. bring your own or get it elsewhere, everything after check-in is extremely over priced! location is conveinient but in bad area. don't go out walking after dark. tip: ask for a room on the north side of the hotel otherwise your view will be of the mission district and south San Francisco.
