This hotel is located right off the highway which is nice. I picked this hotel because of the indoor pool because I have two daughters & wanted them to be able to swim. I must say that I was very unpleased with the pools' appearence. It smelled & was obviousley not maintained well. The room was decent, no problems there. Middle of the road hotel in most aspects. Staff was excellent. Restaurant was terrible. If you stay here, don't eat here.

(This is a C&P of my TripAdvisor Review- pics can be seen on that post) I had a nice weekend at the Holiday Lodge- it was everything I needed to enjoy an active weekend in the area. It has a rustic charm- it could use some sprucing up but it has comfortable rooms, friendly service and a good location. Pros: - Friendly desk and restaurant service- […] I enjoyed my club sandwich from Dory’s - Nice pool area with large hot tub - Large gym with more equipment than usual - Parking within view of my room - Lots of seating in the room- table & two chairs, sofa bed and padded bench - 2 mirrors outside the bath, one full-length- mirrors are important to a female traveler. Having a mirror outside the bathroom makes it much easier to get ready when sharing the room with other people and a full length mirror is especially nice! - Windows open- this is always a nice feature in a hotel! Plus, I had a beautiful view of the sunrise from my bed. - Good channel selection. - Quiet rooms- I was near the ice machine and elevator but heard no hallway noise Cons: - Outdated- there is a large lobby with a huge fireplace but there was no where to lounge- no cozy seating arrangements or even reading chairs. - The usual wear and tear- it is to be expected. Hotel needs a little fixing up. The bar was a good bar. The dinning was not that great, not real friendly either. The room was clean, but my bed was kind of hard.best thing is it is close to the Bridge! Best food was Tudors Bicuit World!

It took about 30 minutes just to get us checked in although we paid for the room months ago. The clerk was busy answering other calls and didn't have the time to take care of us. Carpet in hall very dirty. Bath lacking the usual amenities - shampoo, creams, etc. Coffee was great and there were cups and an ice bucket. Bed was clean although the comforter […] was too hot. Hotel needs cleaning out front. Rooms desperately need new carpet and clean curtains and new beds.

The hotel is in a good location, not hard to get to. It has quite a few nice qualities with layout and in general should be a nice place to stay. I do have to say the hotel is very dated, and in particular the carpeting needs extensive cleaning. I will not use words like shabby, because it was not, but it is certainly apparent that this hotel is struggling […] for clientel and could stand some paint and cleaning. Lisez la suite

Though service was satisfactory, there was not enough food provided at this buffet/breakfast. They had run out of coffee and the food that they served was not good quality.

Great place to stay if you want an adventure on the new river.

Though the pool area could use some updating, the hotel itself was clean, had a friendly staff and was easy to find. The restaurant had a good menu as well.

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the rooms were. The linens were clean and crisp, the room smelled good, and the bathroom was immaculate. My only complaint, and it's […] small, is that I reserved 2 side by side smoking rooms 3 months in advance and when we checked in we were given non-smoking because all the smoking rooms were taken. No great deal because we were allowed to smoke in a nice little courtyard. We were very comfortable (can't say enough about the wonderful linens and bed!) and I felt very safe there. This hotel needs at total makeover. Its ha a good location for rafting and other outdoor actvities, but the rooms smelled humid and old. The interior must have been from late seventies. So All in All try to find something more modern.

Non smoking hotel smells like cigarettes everywhere but covered up by Fabreeze. My wife and I were assigned a room with what I thought was a queen and was only a twin bed with a sofa coach. Carpets are old. Only coffee in the am, unless you want to spend 8 bux at the seedy cafe next to the seedy lounge. Carpets old and stained. Room was clean; location easy to access. We had higher expectations of the property because of the reviews we had read. Hotel is tired looking. Could use a refresh.

EVERYONE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

Stayed here just one night, with two kids, while traveling home from Myrtle Beach. We found the staff friendly, the room clean and fairly spacious and the beds comfortable. For the rate we paid, we were very satisfied.

Very friendly, personable hotel staff. Too many kids in the hot tub - not the hotel's fault but it would be nice if there was a time set aside for adults only in the pool & hot tub - say 10 pm - midnight. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, but breakfast buffet was terrible - very expensive and didn't even have as much on it as the free breakfasts […] in other hotels. Lisez la suite

Let me start by admitting that we smoke. No balcony and the windows didn't open. We don't smoke in our house and the room got pretty bad. Great place to stay if you don't smoke. Staff was great and room was comfortable.

When we arrived at the hotel the person in charge of the desk was very slow and it took 20 min to get our room keys. The room we had was very humid and everything felt damp. Grose! When it came to checking out, there was no one behind the counter so we ended up eating breakfast then checking out. Don't be fooled by the nice picturs. I will never stay […] here again. The Lodge offers good a good location to Fayetteville for the sights as well as for river rafting. Food is very good and quite reasonable in price. The restaurant and room service is geared to meet most needs. Meeting room is available should your group need such.

The Holiday Lodge's location was terrific - just one exit from our Ace Adventure Resorts on Rt 19 and convenient to Fayetteville. We got a great deal from hotels.com. The full size bed was so-so in comfort, but the rest of the room was just fine. We were there over 4th of July weekend and their breakfast buffet (hot, basic and $7.95) was super convenient, […] esp. for early starts at ACE. Oak Hill WV is about 15 minutes drive from Fayetteville, WV, where New River rafting outfitters abound. Hotel was surprisingly comfortable (beds and pillows top notch), accessible (right off Route 19), but quiet.

Could use some updates in lobby area, restaurant wasn't much to get excitied about, but friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great central location.

We stayed two nights and the hotel was acceptable. The rooms were clean but musty smelling until the air conditioner had been run for awhile. Having a restaurant and club onsite was convenient, but the service was somewhat slow. We stayed here on our way home from Virginia Beach it was exactly halfway betwen Indianapolis. It was a nice hotel in an isolated kind of area. Maybe priced a little high. Gave them lower service rating cause a lady kept interupting me when I asked where to get carry out beer trying to get me to drink in their bar, just kinda rude. But it was off the […] Highway with nice rooms they had a heated pool that was great for the kids and a good sized hot tub too. Not much to do there we stopped at the New River Gorge BEAUTIFUL!!! The hotel was very nice. The restaurant was ok! There was a place to wash and dry your clothes but the soap dispenser was not working. Hotel staff was very helpful! Would definitely stay again!

my stay was very pleasurable.

Just needed a room for the night and this was a nice stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the service was a little slow, but we were late. Even though it was a little slow they were very nice. I would recommend this as a nice place to stay.

Very convenient location. Had a confirmed reservation for a King room. We were given room 210 with a Queen bed, but not told that a King wasn't available. Terrible looking room, so asked for something better. Were given a room with two doubles, very clean and nice linens on bed. Too bad first impressions stay with you...

Great alternative to Beckley main drag for hotels. What a nice surprise!

The only problem we found with this hotel is that the drapes over the window were see thru. This wass a little unsettling when you could see into the rooms across the way and they could see in our room

I grew up in Oak Hill and use to be a member of the health club. I have always been pleased with the pool, hottub, and equipment. Up until February I had never stayed there. It is a nice hotel and I have enjoyed my two stays with them. They have a very good restaurant with wonderful food that includes room service. They have a beautiful lobby with a […] flatscreen tv and furniture to lounge and a computer to print documents if needed. The housekeepers keep the room nice and clean and are very nice to talk to. The restaurants delivery girls are very nice when they bring the food in. The front desk clerks are nice and pleasant to speak with. I will stay there again and recommend to anyone. Lisez la suite

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and good value. However the room smell was unacceptable as it must have been a smoking romm at one time. The restaurant was nice and pricing was good the food was average. All in all an old but clean hotel. If the room smelled OK I would recommend thehotel.

The hotel had a nice restaurant with excellant food. Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, Fitness Room, Laundry Room, Bar. I was visiting someone at the Federal Prison & drove 6 hours straight to get there. This was a very nice hotel. Really clean and very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend the hotel restaurant. Pretty average but it was fine for my son and I. My only complaint was that my room was really cold. We were there in March when it was about 30 degrees at night and I could not get the room warmed up. […] I kept turning up the heat and it kept kicking off. The hotel staff is friendly and our room was spacious. The restaurant in the hotel is terrible, though. Unless you're starving, skip their breakfast. Poor service, mediocre food esp for the price. Would be a great location for a conference!

2nd stay will stay again

Not a new hotel...but very clean with good sized rooms and bathroom. Most important...my wife was very pleased.

The staff was very cordial. Our room as well as the hotel in general were clean. We enjoyed the facilities. Nice excercise room, pool, hot tub, arcade, & racquetball court! We would definitely go back! We hit this hotel on our way to Bristol. Rooms closer to Bristol fill fast before big events fill fast and are horribly expensive! The Holiday Lodge was wonderful. We really wanted an indoor pool and the one here was perfect for us. It was very shallow, which may be a deal breaker for some people, but was perfect for our not-quite-swimming on his own 4 year old. There were other families and the whole atmosphere was comfortable and friendly.
