Enjoyed our stay, will stay there again. Location is within walking distance of many things on the bay. Hotel was still in transition from had being a Holiday Inn, with new paint appearing at anytime, and upgrades to anything. Hotel was well kept and the housekeeping staff was most helpful.

The room was ok; nothing special. The restaurant near the lobby was very good. Distance to gaslamp was about 1-2 miles ($7 cab ride). Parking fee is $24. Overall it was a nice hotel.

It was relatively close to the gaslamp quarter but each time we got a cab it was $8 plus tip. Our room was next to the elevator (319) and you could hear it running all night. Great view of the bay though. Receptionist was very unhelpful and almost rude.

Overall, an enjoyable stay. Nice views of the bay or city, depending on room. The parking situation was a little tough when I got back to the hotel around 9pm, but that was largely because every guest seemed to be parked over the lines on one side or the other. There are several buildings as part of the campus, which could get a little confusing, but […] we didn't find it too challenging after the first tour of the property. There are a few restaurants, but we didn't sample any of them. Staff was courteous, room was just used for one night's sleep. It was clean and spacious. I did chuckle that the "grooming kit" left in the bathroom had two q-tips and two cotton balls and nothing else. Other guests were quiet. There is $24/night charge for parking. the Bay view room which I paid extra for and reserved 6 weeks before the stay, was partially blocked by flags and we heard the elevator noise. (Room was adjacent to the elevator)

First off the picture of hotel skyline is deceiving I was lead to believe that I would be in one of the tower hotels in the photo. This Hotel is obviously trafficked by young college party kids.I was stuck in the middle of obnoxious party drunk co-eds yelling and fighting through out the night! The room was not what I was expecting, the Wyndham website was misleading. There were HUGE stains on the carpeting in our room. The walls were so thin I could here someone actually going to the bathroom in the next room. Housekeeping didn't do a good job cleaning each day. Not worth the price. This is a hotel that was recently purchased by Wyndham but not at all upgraded to the typical Wyndham standards. The furniture is very outdated and the carpet is quite old. The fact that they charge 24.00 per night to park just made it even more expensive. I didn't feel that the location on the harbor was worth the extra cost. I went back later and looked at the description and found it in the small print. It should be in bold print as this is not a typical charge for hotels. We were on the 12th floor and could still here all of the noise from the street as if it were just a few feet away. This could be contributed to the fact that the sliding glass door to the balcony didn't shut tightly. You could feel the cold air coming through and hear all the street noise. That being said the staff was helpful, the faucet in our bathroom was leaking and when we told the front desk they sent someone up to fix it that day. Lisez la suite

This was not too long ago a holiday inn. The inside has had sine renovations. The bathrooms looked nice, but the sliding door gave no privacy. There is a parking lot that costs extra per day, but it is walking distance from the Sante fe depot train station and there is a free shuttle from the airport. Need more staff at the front desk. There was only two at the desk when I checked in and only one was helping guest while the other one was looking up something in the computer fit a while before I was even helped so had to wait about 10 minute. The rooms and hallway smells damp and kinda that old smell.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Wyndham. The location was excellent it was right by the airport and the service was very good. Amenities like the shuttle bus helped us move around without having to take too many taxis or public transportation. The pool was also a nice touch it was a bit cool the week that I went but the pool was heated so it was warmer […] then the temperature outside which I thought was a nice touch. Only negatives were that the room was a bit outdated, and they had a small Channel selection with even fewer channels in HD. The hotel is the old Holiday Inn. Rooms were clean. We stayed in the south tower. Was not easy finding the elevators. Rooms were clean and smelled fresh. I hope with the name Wyndham, they do major remodeling. The view was beautiful, looking at the USS Midway and the other ships. I would stay here again in a pinch like we did this time.

The bathroom door was a frosted glass sliding door. Every "noise" could be heard and when you were getting in and out of the shower your silhouette is visible. I was sharing the room with a non family member and it was embarrassing. We felt we had to go down and use the lobby bathroom for "serious business". The hotel wanted to charge extra for everything like getting a fridge in our room, yet our other friends room came with one without them paying extra. You have to pay a lot every day for parking and the stalls were so narrow I couldn't park my SUV without folding in my mirrors and having everyone get out before I parked. I know other reviews complain about the trains/planes, but just turn the A/C fan on, get a room on an upper floor facing the bay, and you still get a good night's sleep at a hotel that has an excellent location, especially considering that the few areas they are not close to are easily reachable by using their free shuttle service (including pick-up/drop-off […] at the airport). The location was perfect for my weekend getaway with a nice view to add to it. Very close to the airport. You can see and hear the planes coming in, but you do get a nice view of the bay. I was only disappointed that there was no Jacuzzi, and that I had to pay $24 to park overnight in the garage. Other than that this place was nice.

The hotel is conveniently located to several attractions and all within walking distance: Little Italy, USS Midway (museum), Gaslamp District, Starbucks. I understand the Wyndham has recently taken over the former Holiday Inn hotel and this may explain the few glitches: we requested an iron early one morning to attend a business meeting and the staff had not showed up 30 minutes later (off to meeting with wrinkled shirt). We requested an iron, again, with two wine glasses later the same day from one of the front desk clerk- again, it never came and we had to make a second request. An hour later, Housekeeping staff showed up with an iron only and no wine glasses. Inter-hotel communication seems poor if non existent. Breakfast amenities - a small counter near the lobby - is abysmal in its selection. Room service for breakfast (limited menu) is available but overpriced. We inquired about a fridge in our room to keep breakfast items and it was $10/day. Outrageous considering the hotel provides no decent breakfast service: the fridge should be free of charge. Well first thing our key didnt work, had to wait for someone to let us in. The beds are very hard little pillows and not enough blankets then to find we were double charged by hotels. Com snd then Wyndham that took time out our day to get resolved. Other than that the view was pretty but I won't stay again

this Wyndham San Diego Bayside is a new wyndham location but NOT a new hotel. if i am not mistaken this used to be a holliday inn hotel a years ago. The Wyndham staff has definitively perked this place up though. our room was great we had a n ocean view room with the length of the wall being glass and a small balcony with chairs and a table to relax […] and enjoy the evening before diner. only "bad" thing was there was no mini fridge or microwave in the room which made leftover and or midnight snacks a room service only..
