Splendid Hotel & Spa Nice - Nice

Hôtel très bien placé, décoration un peu vieillotte, parking très exigu et payant, ascenseurs minuscules et très chargés au moment des rush hours, chambre correcte mais sans plus, frais supplémentaires lors du paiement de la réservation plus lors de l'enregistrement.

I have stayed here many times. The staff are friendly helpful etc. The restaurant gets very busy at night so perhaps could do with additional staff but apart from that very nice. The hotel is close to bars and restaurants with a nice Italian just across the road.

The Internet was not very good and it is only free in the lobby. If one wants internet connection in the room it's expensive.

More like a 3 star hotel

Hotel room was horrible. The mattress was a cheap piece of sloping foam, the bathroom had mold in various places, and the toilet was not bolted down. Value for the money paid was not there. I was very disappointed with this hotel, would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

We always return there as the location is ideal and the staff is wonderful! The restaurant was not as good as it has been in the past. On our first lunch/day there they brought the wrong food to our table, then brought the correct ones and my hubbie got a baby snail crawling on his greens. Then we had dessert and drinks one evening and they charged […] us 12 euro for a single plate (twice the price as the posted charge of the desserts). We spent 3 nights in high season July and were very happy with the stay. Courteous staff, easy to find, good location and great A/C and general cleanliness of the room itself. The balcony was a bit sparse somehow, just a couple of cheap plastic chairs to sit out on so that could have been better. Rooftop bar was undergoing refurbishment at the time […] but it was still pleasant to have a couple of drinks up there in the evening sun. We didn't try the pool. very clean and convenıent locatıon.

After many hours of reading reviews, nothing in Nice seemed to stand out. I chose this hotel because of the location, the fact that it had parking for our hire car and it was in our budget. Whilst most of the reviews mention the outdated decor, this hotel is clean and offers a good location. We had 2 rooms on the 6th floor. The rooms were large as well […] as the bathrooms and very large balconies (great for a washing line). The bedlinen was very clean, which is more important than updated decor. It had all the amenities you need and even had an iron and ironing board in the room. Something most European hotels are reluctant to offer. There is a rooftop restaurant/bar which offers great views of Nice at night. We were in Nice on Bastille Day and had a fantastic view of the fireworks from the terrace. Don't let the comments of the decor distract you from this hotel. Our fussy teenage children didn't mind it one bit! Lisez la suite

Stayed for two nights at the Splendid earlier this month. Fabulous hotel, great location. Didn't eat there, so can't comment on food. Rooftop pool a little small, didnt visit in the day, but would imagine it would be crowded. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thoroughly recommended and would stay again.

I have stayed at the Splendid Hotel almost every year for the past 10 years. It is comfortable, competitively-priced for a four-star billed hotel and conveniently-located for the seafront (3 minutes walk) and Nice Ville SNCF railway station (less than 10 minutes walk) from where for a fare of €6.80 return you can take a day trip to Monaco. The hotel […] also has a pleaseant roof-top bar. My room was clean and comfortable and the air-conditioning was easier to adjust. My only criticism was the poor state of the bath which was discoloured from age, use and perhaps lack of the appropriate amount of elbow grease when cleaning. You walk inthe entry to the sounds of a waterfall at the door. It is tranquil and nice and the bar/patio on the 8th floor gave a great backdrop for views of the sunset and the city. Great bedding and bathroom with TWO sinks--voila! K & C , CA

I was a big disappointed when I enter the hotel. It's out dated and looks old. The space of the room was not too small however the front office put me to 7F and I can hear people walking or moving the tables on 8F. It turn out 8F is the restaurant and bar. The noise was bad in the morning. THe only modern looking area is the bathroom. It was pretty […] good, at least the tub can fit two people. I visited in May 18 and 19 and the room was a bit hot and the AC doesn't work well. We ended up open the window and door to cool off the room. AC was totally useless. No coffee maker in the room, no robs either. The SPA area was fairly tiny and on 1F. Don't feel like it's private at all. Had a wonderful weekend in Nice staying at this hotel. While a bit worse for the wear, it was fairly clean and elegant. We had booked two rooms for ourselves and our teenage daughter, and while they initially hadn't realized the rooms were one party, the hotel managed to find us adjoining rooms on check in, earning major brownie points. Our daughter's […] room was nicer than ours, leading me to believe that they are currently renovating the rooms one by one. The roof top pool is tiny (and freezing!) but the views are breathtaking and definitely worth it. My daughter and I also had facials at the spa while we were there which were utterly wonderful. No idea what the restaurant was like - it was shut the one night we wanted to eat there. The best part of this hotel though, is its location. Five minutes to the Promenade des Anglais, a lovely stroll through to the Vielle Ville, 15-20 minutes from the airport, you are in the centre of the action without hearing the noise and clamor of it at night. While not being one of the top hotels, the Splendid is still a good choice and fairly good value for money. The only peeves were paying for WiFi (in this day and age, there should be no need) and the expensive breakfast which we avoided by eating out, which was not a hardship in the centre of Nice. Love this boutique hotel - cozy and comfortable. 3 blocks from the Promenade, great restaurants easily within walking distance. Hotel Splendid has a nice bar, restaurant, pool and lounge on the top of the hotel, with a view that can't be beat. We really enjoyed our stay here.

This hotel is very comfortable and the location is an easy walk to everything important; the beach, the train station, the main shopping area, and many restaurants.

We had ants in our room 1st floor and I was not going to say anything, however, i did. We got upgraded instantly to the 7th floor. If you don't ask to fix anything, you won't get anything. I found that on our trip, if you are polite, and ask for things , usually you will get it. This was a good motto to live by. Also the breakfast was ok. The eggs were […] mixed with mayonnaise. Yuck!!!! The pool is on the roof. Not bad but very deep. Not good for younger kids. Hoever, refreshing! The sun decks were nice. The jacuzzi was not hot just warm. I think this used to be a VERY nice hotel. It just hasn't kept up with the times. Needs a major update IMO. The hotel does not have wifi - although you can purchase a connection through Orange France, international calling calling cards don't work in the room - but they work at the payphone in the lobby. The Hotel was nice but I wouldn't book it again. The location was great. BUT ALAS On checkout the staff tried to charge me for more Tax for which I had already prepaid. I steadfastly refused to pay. The accomodation was fully paid for. SO when checking into this Hotel or any other always have your printed documentation with you. HOW MANY TAXES SHOULD […] WE HAVE TO PAY in Europe????? The hotel is in a great location and the pool is the best feature (and the reason why we chose). What really lets it down is that it's like staying a granny's. It really needs updating to bring it into the 20th century. Definately more of a three star hotel.

This is a very nice hotel and at a reasonable price. All areas of the facility were of fine quality, and it was located only a few short blocks from the beach and from the railway station. Advantage was taken of the rooftop bar and pool, which afforded fine views of the entire Nice area. Great value!

Myself and my boyfriend spent 2 nigts here. The location was perfect, close to the beach and lots of bars and restaurants. The bus from the airport drops you 5 mins walk from the hotel. The rooms are nice and clean and we had a lovely terrace. The pool, although small ,and jacuzzi are perfect for relaxing and we were happy to spend 2 of the days chilling […] out here. Stayed for a long weekend in a harmony room. Having stayed at many hotels of different standards over the years we expected more from a 4 star rated hotel. On the plus side the reception staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping kept the room very clean. Also had an amazing massage in the Spa. Negatives 1. The hotel has a pool on […] the roof which is nice, but pretty small and there is something of a scramble for sunbeds 2. In our room we had a balcony, which was a pleasant surprise, but the room was quite cramped and fairly basic . 3. The bar/restaurant is up by the pool and is pretty ordinary. Nice is an expensive place but the prices for drinks and food in the hotel were generally extremely high(eg 8euros for a plate of chips, 7 euros for a litre bottle of evian). Many guests went out and brought food/drink back to the hotel for lunch etc. Service in the bar wasn't great. Bar not particularly well stocked(we were told one afternoon that they had run out of coke and lemonade!!) 5. The Spa is ok, but not spectacular. Great massages, but didn't have a great experience with pedicure/manicure, which were also pretty expensive We did not get the wow factor from this hotel and would not go back. It is about 5 mins from the beach, which is ok, but on another occasion we would look for one of the hotels on the promenade, even if it had a lower star rating. Lisez la suite

Hotel very central to transport facilities. These are worth taking advantage of, very cheap, One Euro on a bus journey lasting just under one hour, very good. Only had breakfast once, not too impressed. Cost 16 Euros per person. The Reception staff helpful. Not much else to say about our stay.

We enjoyed our visit to Nice and the Splendid Hotel & Spa provided excellent facilities to make the break a very enjoyable experience.

Badet var den store skuffelsen. Badekar er viktig for meg, når badekar begyner å lekke er det stor minus. Hvis det ikke skjedde ville jeg reist tilbake. Spa personale var trøt og lite arbeidsvilig. Synd. Spa var perfekt atmosfære ellers.Personalet i resepsjon og andre steder var hensynsfull og hyggelige.

Bodde på hotellet i november och fick en bra uppfattning. Något slitet, en hand duch vid badkaret som inte funkade - men annars fina rum. Frukosten var inte av kontinental standard. Tyvärr fick vi magförgiftning sista dagen av den varma korven på frukostbuffen. Et bra hotell hvis du vil ha det meget sentralt i Nice og relativt greit med hensyn til standard. Ingen wow-effekt her, men et straight hotell som har kort avstand til nesten alt.

Restauranten på taket har en fantastisk utsikt, og spise frokost eller lunch der gjør dagen! Romene er noe "slitene".

Splendid Hotel & Spa Nice er et godt standard 4 stjernet hotel. Værelserne er pæne og rene og har en fin størrelse. Dejligt stort & lækkert badeværelse med lækkert boblebadekar. Fantastiske senge. Der er en pæn stor balkon på værelset, med en lille spiseplads, som vi brugte til at spise morgenmad ved. Om efteråret når solen står lavt, er der kun sparsom […] sol på balkonerne på 4 sal og derunder (gælder værelser ud mod Meyerbeer). Hotellet ligger tæt på mange restauranter og butikker og kun ca.15 min. gang fra Den Gamle By. Generel god og okay rolig beliggenhed. Meget venligt personale og rigtig god service (taler godt engelsk). Poolområdet på taget er generelt fint omend noget småt. Generelt et meget anbefalelsesværdigt hotel, der med dets beliggennhed giver mulighed for nemt at kombinere dagen med byture & kultur og afslapning i solen på tagterrassen. Lisez la suite

Dejligt hotel. Tæt ved vandet og meget centralt. tæt ved butikker-togstationen-dansesteder. Fik fint værelse med balkon med havudsigt. Meget fin service og hjælp til at finde Tangosteder og vandreture i receptionen. Flot terasse med pool og Spa og mange SPA-Hamam muligheder til en absolut rimelig pris.

HOTELLI OLI KAIKINPUOLIN SIISTI JA MUKAVA, HUONEET TILAVAT, RUOKA HYVÄÄ. AINOA PUUTE OLI KUN KUNTOSALILLA EI OLLUT ILMASTOINTIA, KESÄKUUMALLA SE OLI AIKA TUKALA PAIKKA.

Vi var to par på ferie og hadde 4 overnattinger. Vi var stort sett fornøyd med hotellet, men vi savnet at det ikke var mulighet til å fa seg en kaffe/ te /vann i resepsjonsområdet. Kun en PC tilgjengelig på hotellet (leie i 30 min). Hotellet var eldre og slitt men alikevel bra. Sengene var god å ligge i og vi hadde en liten balkong på rommet, som trakk […] opp. Lisez la suite

Beliggenhet midt i byen mellom stranda og jernbanen, gå avstand til det meste. Noe slitent og gammeldags interiør, men komfortable senger og store bad. Balkong var også greit. Airconditioner kunne virket bedre og basseng på taket er knøttlite. Vi betalte ca halv pris pga tidlig reservering, så alt i alt er vi helt greit fornøyd.

Hadde et fint opphold i Nice på dette hotellet, som ligger en kort spaserturfra både strand og gamlebyen, og handlegatene.
