"Days Inn - Convention Center - NOT!"
When we booked this hotel we assumed it was near the Convention Center due to the name!! We looked a map saw the Center was at the harbour and booked hotel. There was about a 20 min walk uphill from the Center and harbour area. Felt hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment - rooms were comfortable enough and had microwave and fridge. Didn't like […] the fact that the bathroom didn't contain wash hand basin - this was in the room beside the fridge! Good breakfast included - fresh items and plenty of choice. We had reviewed so many hotels for this holiday we had forgotten that their was a charge for the parking - when I queried the charge the receptionists attitude totally changed and no eye contact made and very off hand. When we walked about the area we came across other hotels in the area which looked nicer and were about the same price. Lisez la suite

Definitely not convenient to the Convention Center. Hotel is old and very tired. Needs major upgrading.

"Decent motel"
This was about what I head expected. I chose this motel over another one because their free continental breakfast sounded a little better. It was pretty good, with bagels, muffins, danish, toast, fruit, cereal, but the cream cheese for the bagels was a little coagulated, probably because it may have been left out too long. I called the hotel the day […] before to make sure they would hold my room because I was arriving late. It took a long time for someone to answer, but once I got someone, they were very friendly and helpful. I found the bed a little uncomfortable, but got to sleep o.k. Overall, not bad. Lisez la suite
Excelent service and help and right next to gaslamp at a resonable price.
"Very friendly staff, great location and v. clean"
Our stay was very pleasant and the reception staff (Jeff) was extremely friendly, understanding and competent. We have nothing but praise for this hotel. Thank you.
"Days Inn"
We had 2 rooms with 4 adults. Our room was nice, comfortable beds, clean and good local. Our friends rooms had a cockroach in their room and partying next door that kept them up all night. Don't know how the front desk did not hear all the noise!! Also, checking in was very confusing, the staff did not seem to be organized and was easily flustered. Most […] likely will not stay there again. Lisez la suite
Overall not a bad hotel in the room department. Room had lots of furniture making for a tight squeeze. Room was clean and overall not to bad. However, the staff was pretty rude both on check-in and check-out (2 different people). At check-in they held to the 3pm check-in time. I was there for only 1 night so for the price not bad. If I were staying […] for longer, I'd stay 2 blocks over at the Holiday Inn. Lisez la suite
Run down. Noisy. Outdated. Beds were comfortable. Thin walls...could hear the bed squeaking from next door couple having sex. We were in town for a hospital emergency and having had more time would have looked for a better place to stay. Also the front desk night auditor was rude and inconsiderate and started to scold me for booking through hotels.com […] despite seeing the sticker label still on my sweater from the ICU unit and it being 5:30 am. Will never be back again! Lisez la suite
"Days Inn in Downtown SD"
Beyond that, if you're up for a 2-3 mile walk, you can get to quite a bit of downtown San Diego, the beach, and the park/zoo. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of room, and if you're up for leaving the windows open for fresh air, you won't be much more disturbed than with them closed! Which leads me to a warning about this hotel: the noise! […] The insulation on the windows and doors is pretty terrible. Partially to blame is being at a very convenient intersection, which is by its very nature busy late into the night, and early in the morning. Bring ear plugs or leave the windows open - the location makes up for it, though! Lisez la suite
most comfortable bed i have ever slept. room was was big . great shower the shower head was actually over my head for once. manager was very nice and helpful. very close to gaslamp took us 5-10 min. to walk there. would stay there again in a heart beat.

"Ash Street Days Inn San Diego"
This is an older 1960s/70s era family hotel. Rooms are on the small side and doors are on outside corridors. The age of the hotel is showing and the street outside is noisy. Surrounding neighborhood is ok; however once you get a few blocks west it deteriorates. Stayed 2 nights and would not stay there again.
"Two Thumbs Up!"
The front desk manager was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The room attendants were equally friendly and courteous and the room was clean and comfortable.

"Days Inn, friendly staff"
The man at the desk was really nice and helpful. My family and i were only here about 12 hours, but the bathroom was clean and the beds were comfy. I am very weird about my pillows and theirs were a little on the firm side which i don't like but i was the only one who had a problem. Overall i would stay here for the price they offer. It right near lots […] of food places too. Burger King, Del Taco, Subway, Dominos... Lisez la suite
"Good value for the money"
The room was pretty run down but clean, and it was just a standard economy hotel. The service I received from the front desk was excellent. I was there on business and couldn't find anything closer to the convention center so I settled for the Days Inn. While the room wasn't too impressive and parking was difficult (and they charged you a fee to park) […] I had a pleasant experience, and really thats all I wanted. 3 out of 5. Lisez la suite
"Good hotel"
Very nice helpful staff - gave me tips on where to shop for food and beer, and getting around the city. I would stay here again.
"Day's Inn Downtown San-Diego Ash Street"
Hotel is ok and very affordable Close from cruise terminal and airport ( taxi is less than 10$ )
would not recommended this hotel to anyone, there are cheaper ones with better amentaties and worth the money, this one not worth it.
"i loved everyone"
wow when i got there Jack was hilariius, my checkin was great, Art was so helpful the night shift guy when needed directions. when i was checkin out, Dustin had the greatest smile before i could get inside the door. He was so happy to help me. his smile was comforting. the room was very nice. definately clean. the coffe was great and they indiviually […] wrap the pastries, I love that attention to detail. They take every precaution. I love this place. Lisez la suite
"Avoid"
I wanted to save some money on the hotel so I can splurge on food and entertainment. When on a mini-getaway vacation, after a long day out and about, it is nice to come to a clean and relaxing hotel room. Days Inn is NOT the place to be. The room had a cold, almost hospital smell to it. A large red stain on the carpet. A towel found in one of the drawers, […] not sure if it was used or not but it looked like someone threw it in there. Positive: The bed however was soft yet firm, the pillows were good too. TV: limited channels. I had to press the buttons on the remote control hard in order to change the channel. If you're looking for just a quick over night stay to get to somewhere else later, then maybe this place is ok for you. But for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway weekend, this hotel should not be a part of it. Spend the extra money somewhere else. Lisez la suite

"you get what you pay for"
the staff was not familiar with area or ANY place to go to. the so called heater was not working very well so we asked for blankets..and they said they could only give us two! not to mention the noise from floor above that kept us up until 1am until they finally moved them to another room. cheap= you get what you pay for

"Days Inn Convention Center San Diego"
Overall it was a good one night stay. Wifi, liquor store across the street, about 0.8 mile from Gas lamp quarter, free parking. Overall its not as close as I hoped it would be, but it is within walking distance. The gas lamp quarter is 16 short blocks, so after walking around the gas lamp quarter the last thing I wanted to do was walk a mile to my room, […] but it is doable depending on the weather. Although, if you're traveling alone I wouldn't recommend walking, because there is a bad area you have to walk through, but there is a separate route you can take to avoid it (Don't take ninth, walk up the hill and take 4th st. down to the gaslamp) . Staff was polite, room was clean, the free breakfast is super skimpy (cofee, tea, pastries, fruit). Overall a good stay for the price. I would stay here again. Lisez la suite

"Days Inn downtown SD"
Nice clean beds were big so was the bathroom.
"A satisfied customer"
Nice and Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Approximately 7-8 blocks from Gaslamp District. And best part, Free parking!!
"Good Hotel at great rate"
I came to SD for a conference. The room and amenities were very good. The staff were considerate, although not very cordial. However, checking in, out and special parking request was very smooth and easy. The beds were very comfortable. I like good water pressure in the showers and it was fine. I would recommend this for a short stay.
"Days Inn - Downtown"
The Days Inn Downtown SD was okay. The room was pretty bare, but decently clean. The television was awful, didn't get ESPN, and would short out every now and then. The internet was also pretty weak. The main reason to stay here is the location. It is within walking distance of the Gaslamp and downtown, but the area in-between is a bit hairy. Overall, […] this is probably a 2 star hotel, but if you are just looking for a place to sleep, it fits the bill. Lisez la suite
"Good stay at a good price!"
This is an older motel that needs a bit of work but the room was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and with walking distance of the famed Gaslamp district. It is a short drive to the San Diego Zoo; the USS Midway and lots of other attractions. The free continental breakfast is basic but did the trick. We would definitely stay here again given the […] cost. Lisez la suite
"Holiday Inn Down Town San Diego"
The evening host was very rude in rush to get us out, even stated "this is so stressful, why do all you guys come in at once." asked me for the CC i billed with then mad a comment "the faster you get it the faster i can move this process along!" then when asked for additional information such as a an extra parking permit for my wifes car he scouffed […] and breathed heavily while handing the permit to us and repeated that action several times through out different requests! "Location was good."
Not too bad for what you pay, old but clean, close enough to Gaslamp not to need a cab. We were happy with it.

"Days Inn San Diego Convention Center"
it was nice and quiet because i was there during the week. Front desk clerk went out of his way to find another tv remote that worked. he was very helpful. Would def stay here again! 15-20 minute walk to convention center.
I did this above.
"Convienient But some issues"
This hotel rated highly in the folowing: hotel staff, location, parking, and price. It rated low in mattress comfort. It was like an old saddle. My back ached in the morning. However, my friend who stayed in the room next door had a great mattress. The room was acceptable but worn. It definitely needs updating. The best part of the stay was the front […] desk staff. They were wonderful. Lisez la suite
"PLEASANTLY SURPRISED"
FOR THE PRICE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. WALKING DISTANCE TO THE GASLAMP DISTRICT. ROOM WAS SMALL BUT COMFY. SMALL BATHROOM AND TOILET BUT OVERALL IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT STAY. I WOULD STAY AGAIN. VERY FRIENDLY FRONT DESK AND HOUSKEEPING PEOPLE.

Although the hotel was very satisfactory as a whole, eg well maintained, comfortable and a great staff, the location in downtown San Diego while convenient has one BIG drawback, the noise level was almost unbearable. Police and Fire/Ambulance sirens blasting all night long. If you are considering staying at this hotel invest in a set of earplugs.

"Great price, easy to get around"
The front desk clerk was incredibly friendly and was willing to lend advise on walking distance restaurants and events. The cleaning staff was friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and simple. The Location was close to everything. A few blocks from the gas-lamp district and a less-than-mile walk from PETCO park. A breeze to get around. The […] drive to the San Diego Zoo was less than 5 minutes. I would definitely use this hotel again and would recommend it to others. Lisez la suite
Rooms are pretty small but very comfortable and cleaned. Good breakfast too. Close to the airport and with free shuttle included.
