Mecenate Palace - Rome

Les trois nuits passées ont été très agréables. Le personnel s'est montré très disponible et gentil. Les chambres sont très agréables et le couchage confortable. Une bonne isolation nous coupe des bruits de la rue. Très bien situé et très bien desservi, je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

Hôtel très bien situé, proche de la gare principale et d'un arrêt du bus touristique. Globalement positif, à l'exception de la première nuit où on nous a fait dormir dans une chambre simple avec un lit simple alors que nous avions réservé une chambre double. Le plus agaçant a été qu'on a essayé de nous faire croire qu'il s'agissait d'une chambre standard […] avec un lit standard (1m40) et que c'était ce que nous avions réservé. Hôtel très bien situe par contre nous avons passe la 1ère nuit dans une chambre single alors que nous avions réserve une chambre pour 2 personnes. Après réclamation nous avons eu la chambre a laquelle nous avions droit pour les autres nuits.

Hotel un peu excentré du centre historique mais à 5 mn à pied de la gare de termini et de la ligne a du metro, tres pratique. Les chambres ne sont pas très spacieuse mais suffisante, grande salle de bains. Petit dejeuner servi sur la terrasse du toit, copieux et tres agreable. nous avons ete logés dans une annexe a 30m du Mecenate mais sans aucun regret puisque notre chambre etait tres confortable,tres calme et donnant sur une cour interieure fleurie,salle de bain spacieuse ,avec baignoire jaccuzi. Petit dejeuner continental,copieux(vienoiseries,pains,jambon,fromage,fruits,yaourts,cereales) et servi sur une terrasse avec […] une tres belle vue sur Rome! Très bon hôtel, bien situé (près de Termini). La terrasse pour le petit-déjeuner est en face de la Santa Maria Maggiore. Le personnel est sympathique, disponible. La réception parle français. Very nice hotel, good location (near Termini). The staff is friendly and helpful.

Proche de termini et à côté de la basilique Santa Maria Maggiore, à 200m da la station Vittorio Emannuelle la situation est idéale pour connaître cette merveilleuse ville...

The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean, old, but clean. We had a baby with us, and they had a pack-n-play set up already when we arrived. The room was clean, and the bathroom was clean. The hotel was near the collosseum, but when it says within walking distance, you need to take in the surroundings into consideration (buses, cars, etc.). We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Mecenate hotel. There was so much choice for Rome hotels we really didnt know what to expect but our stay at the hotel was 5* from start to finish. The staff couldnt do enough to help us throughout our stay. Our room was of medium size (European not American), beautifully decorated and clean (even behind […] the bed!). Location is perfect, about a 5 minute walk from Termini (but in the nicer part of town). Metro travel is an easy and cheap way to get around with stops less than 5 mins away for both lines. Lots of choice for breakfast and the terrace has a lovely view over the rooftops of Rome and of St Maria Maggiore. Cant wait to book our next trip to Rome and we will def be staying at the Mecenate Palace. Lisez la suite

We would definitely go back to this hotel. The only thing it lacked was free internet. The breakfast is good....the standard European continental breakfast on a rooftop terrace. The room was small, but standard for Europe. It's a 5 minute walk to the train station and has plenty of restaurants near it. The surrounding neighborhood is a little run down, […] but that's about what you'd expect for right around the main train station. We had no issues and felt completely safe. Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and good location to reach the most populare tourist attractions in Rome.

We where very pleased with the location of the hotel. The only disappointment was the many stairs to the roof terrace which my wife had trouble getting to.

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. IT should be downgraded to a 2 star hotel. The room is not impressive: carpets extremely old and stink, the bathrooms floor and sink have brown stained and smell like fungus. The bed is extremely hard as a rock. We were not allowed to have snacks in our room, Which is ridiculous. The front desk are not tourist […] friendly. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone else. A wonderful place to stay. The room was clean and tidy. Located across the street from Santa Maria Maggiore Church. The Hotel personnel were courteous and very helpful. Highly recommend.

this hotel is in a great location but for the money I was disappointed. The single room was so small I had to upgrade just to have enough room to set my suitcase out and open it. It had about 6 channels on TV. No clock in room so you better have your watch. I had to pay for internet. overall this is in a great location and safe neighborhood. Very easy to get all major attractions by either train or hop on - hop off bus....very nice hotel with friendly staff

Hi, I recently stayed at this hotel. It is conveniently close to the Colosseum, Pantheon, etc. You may need to take a cab although I did walk the mile back from the Colosseum at night and felt safe. The front desk personnel were so helpful when my flight got delayed. They called the airlines for me as well as the cab company to reschedule. the hotel has a very bad beds.

I should probably split this review into 2 parts - We arrived late, getting to our room at around midnight. We had a brief look at the room when we turned on the lights and then the lights blew. Reception sent up somebody to fix them (blown fuse). The room itself was small, very small. We'd booked a standard room and I guess that's possibly the normal […] size for Rome, but I expected it to be bigger. There was a fairly noticeable stain on the headboard and the room and bathroom did not seem to be very clean in general. The next morning the fuse blew again when the light in the bathroom was switched on. We were moved to their apartment a couple of doors down the street and this place was way better than the small and fairly scruffy looking room we were allocated. For a start it had electricity!! It had a good sixed lounge area, a bedroom and a large bathroom with Jacuzzi. Breakfast in the hotel is a simple buffet, nothing to write home about but it does the job. It's served in their rooftop terrace and this is easily the best feature of the hotel. The staff are pretty good and we had no complaints there. The hotel charges for net access which in a four star hotel, in this day and age is unacceptable - given the amount of things to do in Rome, net access is very handy and something that the hotel could give at very little cost!! I would say that this hotel is not 4 star, it's at best a 3 start hotel. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our room, but the decor in various parts looked tired. Staff was great. Located very close to Roma Termini and Subway.

This hotel was well run and very clean with a very nice breakfast included. Prices were reasonable and the front desk extremely helpful. A definite return is in order.

Rather old hotel with central control aircon. Aircon was not working on our first night. We were given fan to sleep with, as they claimed that all rooms were taken and they couldn't change the room for us. Great roof top environment, but lousy breakfast. Some distance from metro.

We needed a hotel close to Termini Station and Mecenate was PERFECT! We walked easily with our luggage and were welcomed with a smile by the friendly front desk staff. I was thrilled with the quality of the rooms - hardwood floors, clean and the bathroom was huge by European standards. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel has great location, just next to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. Very, very good service, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable with everything that we would need. The breakfast was served on the roof, with fantastic view over the city. The location of this hotel was ideal. We were able to walk to many sites. Also it was only a couple of blocks away from the train station. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

If I were to go back to Rome, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, the breakfast not bad, and overall an A+. The location is fantastic with an excellent view to the plaza. We give this hotel a two thumbs up!!

Rooftop terrace was Beautiful! We enjoyed beautiful views overlooking the Colliseum. Close enough to walk from the train to our hotel. Great neighborhood. We were able to walk to Colliseum tour and Vatican City (Vatican City was a long walk, but we stopped for lunch and espressos on the way). Me and my boyfriend stayed 4 nights in this lovely hotel and would recommend to any one. It is a 5 minute walk from the termini and close enough to the colosseum. The breakfast is served on the roof looking over the beautiful city. All round we had a fantastic stay and didn't want to go home!!

Nice hotel with terrific terrace. Staff are helpful. The rooms are standard European size. You are a 10 minute walk to the Colloseum and the Forum. Pricey but nice hotel.

If I paid for and was expecting a 1 or 2 star hotel I would not have been disappointed. For what I paid the room was VERY small and although close to train station is not central.

Rooms were very comfortable and good size. The hotel is well located if you will be using the metro, train, or plan to walk the roman forum area. We had 3 rooms and all three were to our liking. Breakfast could be more substantial, but we were not there to eat and there are bakeries all over town anyways. would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our three nights at this hotel. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful and the view from the rooftop (where breakfast was served) was gorgeous. We were in the "annex" part of the hotel - not in the same building as the front desk. We didn't have any problem with this - the room was clean, convenient and nicely laid out. While I had some doubts about a hotel in the area close to Termini, these were not justified. Our room was fine with a view of the Basillica. The staff were always helpful and the breakfast good by Italian standards. It is within walking distance of the centre and also close to a Metro stop. However, it is an expensive hotel.

Our stay could not be faulted. The staff were extremely helpful when it came to enquiring about how to get to the various sights in Rome. Our excellent bedroom was sound-proof so we never heard noises of city traffic and were not disturbed in any way. We spent 5 comfortable nights at the Mecenate Hotel. Its proximity to the railroad station (three long blocks) was a plus for getting from the Rome airport and then leaving for Florence. The room was clean and well-appointed, the staff helpful, and the location for sightseeing excellent.

A great hotel in a very convenient area of Rome close to all the major tourist sites. Cannot praise the hotel too highly, spacious, wonderfully appointed room in Executive wing. Very, very clean and had everything we could want. Great breakfast each morning, plenty of everything and friendly attentive waiters. The day staff was exceptional. The front desk attendant was always friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast each morning on the terrace was a plus. Rooms are clean and nice. Our room had a water leak at some point and the cloth walls were stained which made me feel there may be mold in the room. Hotel was quite lovely, helpful courteous staff, amazing breakfast on the roof. Room was large and well appointed, and very comfortable. I would recommend to all and would gladly stay there again. We traveled to many cities during our trip to Italy, and moved around by trains and the subway. I booked 2 rooms in what I expected to be a 4 star hotel. At the end they put us in a 2 rooms apartment 25 meter from the Hotel. Although the apartment was big enough it lacks all the charm of a 4 star hotel in central Rome. We were very very disappointed. + Breakfast is not what you would expect from a so-called 4 stars....

Great hotel! Staff, room and all the necessaties were outstanding! Very close to all major attractions inside the center of Rome. Would definately recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
