Joli petit hôtel, excellent accueil, calme et très bien tenu.Un plus pour le verre de l'amitié servi le soir entre 17 et 18 heures et le café/thé à volonté durant la journée.Personnel très accueillant et sympathique. Vivement recommandé

Great maids, quiet room, hot water, well located -- all at a good price . But I Waited 20 minutes and had to call for a desk clerk to appear [Note said gone for"emergency," but showed up with buddies in tow]. He regularly used the handicapped spot; when asked not to said he always did, as did the owner, since "there were no other spaces;" when asked […] what I should do, as a handicapped driver, interrupted me, told me I had nothing to say that would interest him, and walked away. Rented a room here during my honeymoon, but it was less than stellar. Bathroom door wouldn't close, the heater sounded like it was gonna break apart, and the ice machine didn't work. Stayed there because of the rate and the location. The check in clerk was very nice but the room was a pit. The toilet seat was cracked, the drywall was exposed in the bathroom, the light was so dim in the bathroom that i could not see to shave. The only nice thing about the room was the cable TV. Great location being close but, not right on Lombard st. for a decent price. We were just looking for a bed and a shower. We arrived at a late hour but, the desk person was very friendly and quick. Excellent location, very close to Shopping (Union Street & Chestnut respectively) but not walking distance to Pier 39/Fishermans Wharf. We have a 5 year old and she would have given up after walking to the wharf and then around the wharf and back to the hotel. Parking is expensive, but worth it. You can get an hours free parking with a validated ticket if you eat lunch at the pier, check your ticket for eligible restaurants. Average sized but clean, tidy rooms. "freezing cold"
The weather was cold and the heater was as loud as a transport truck-no kidding. Paper thin walls meant you could hear everything from within the building and outdoors. The washroom was full of hair (not ours!) and the shower didn't drain. An old fashioned tube TV had exactly one channel. The best thing was the location...great shops and restaurants […] close by. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel has not been updated since the 50's the carpet is dirty has cigerate burns. The beds are old and flat. I looked up the prices on the lower end, but ended up with a hotel that gave great service and was perfectly located in the Marina District. For the cheap price it was ok . Heater didnt work problem for my Wife not me. I ended up buying a fan I needed for white noise and had heater built in worked out great. We think it is clean, simple, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is ok, the shower is great, you have a small fridge where you can put whatever you want. The price was very good, but the room was nothing to crow about. The room was small and noisy, but it was clean. Free off-street parking is also availale, and in San Francisco this adds to the value of the lodgings. All things considered, the Greenwich Inn is indeed a 2 star lodging. When I checked in the Inn did not have a copy of my paid reservation, […] and I had to give them the hard copy that I brought with me. Luckily I also keep a copy on my iphone. "Stay with caution --Your identity might be at risk"
After I booked a room via hotels.com, I was asked to provide a credit card and a photo ID at check-in – which is standard process. However, what was not standard is that they made photo copies of my driver’s license and credit card and stored it under the desk. From what I understand about the Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, this is a big no […] no. Other major hotels keep credit card on file, but it is done electronically and their systems meet PCI requirements. I was not comfortable having a copy of my credit card and drivers license somewhere under the reception desk. From what I saw, the only thing protecting my identity was a glass door and a drawer. For the next two days, I was able to get a 2+ start hotel within 10 miles of this one for the same price and way better breakfast. This motel was FILTHY. We had booked a room with two beds. Upon Check In they put us in a room with one king. Granted we did arrive early but when he put us in a room with 2 beds- The room was filthy and the carpet was disgusting. There was hair all over the floor in the bathroon. You could tell that this room had been a storage closet turned into a […] sleeping room by the vent that remained on the door. The bed spreads did not match and the blinds were really dirty. The whole room smelled very musty. At night, other guests stood out side in the parking area/center of the motel talking very very loudly until 2 AM sounding as if they were right outside our door on both nights we were there. I would NOT reccomend this hotel- very uncomfortable, dirty and LOUD. This was surprising as it was in a great nieghboorhood wiht lots of realy neat shops and restaurants. "You Get What You Pay For!!!"
I brought my son to SF for a surprise weekend to see his team play and booked this hotel on a package deal. The parking right off is HORRIBLE, good luck finding a spot, if you have anything large back it in and say your prayers that you don't get any dings on your doors. The everyday noise is incredible at night so bring ear plugs. We came home from […] the game, a long day for us, my son was sick already and we had the pleasure of hearing a large group of in the parking lot yelling, laughing, drinking and caring on until after 4am, even with my earplugs they woke me up and my son had NyQuil that night. I called down the the front desk, of coarse he was sleeping!!! The maid took our dirty wash cloths and never replaced them. I guess what I'm saying, you get what you pay for, the location is definitely great, near pier39, Ghiradelli Square, Lombard St, etc....... but that's about it! "Not Exactly Fishermans Wharf - but a place to stay"
The stay was fine! The neighborhood felt clean and safe. The hotel is located right next to (but not on) a major street with plenty of places to eat. Parking was free, but limited. I got a space and then walked or taxi'ed. The bus route was very close as well. The room was exactly what I needed/wanted. It was clean and in no way rundown. It was small, […] the bathroom was small. For me and my companion the room was perfect. We arrived, stretched out, left, spent the evening out, slept and then left. We didn't need the TV or free WiFi... don't know if either worked. The breakfast was coffee and danish's (each one of those individually wrapped Debbie Danish things.) we skipped those.Check in and out was easy. We needed a clean simple place to stay and we definitely got that. Although the place is advertised as "Fishermans Wharf" It was really a $8 ab ride to the wharf area.
