Cet hôtel récent est irréprochable en termes de confort et de propreté. Chambre très bien équipée (bureau, grande TV écran plat, fauteuil, etc.) et surtout une literie d'une excellente qualité (il y a un bouton pour régler la dureté du matelas - nous n'avons pas eu besoin d'y toucher). Propreté irréprochable. Le petit déjeuner est en option mais du café est proposé dans le hall gratuitement tout la journée. Il faut compter 15 bonnes minutes de highway pour rallier Portland Downtown. L'hôtel semble assez mal desservi en transports en commun. Il y a également de nombreux centre commerciaux à 5/10 minutes de routes. Si vous cherchez du confort, allez y les yeux fermés.

The room was right next to the street, so it was quite noisy. But the other rooms would probably be more comfortable noisewise. But it is a cheap hotel with very good amenities for the price.

"A Weekend in Portland"

"Shamrock weekend"
Beds were awful, felt like sleeping directly on the mattress springs. Had to leave room fan on to drown out traffic noise but the fan rattled all night too. Neighborhood was great for proximity of restaurants but would not stay there again.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"Not Classy, Just Fun"

"Out of the downtown bustle"
The people who work there is the reason for my high assessment. The evening person was a real dear, took our pictures for us, was a wealth of information, and very nice. I confess that I moved to the Doubletree after a single night. This is a dive motel in the truest sense, but it's right in the middle of a very cool neighborhood of restaurants, cafes, bars, and vintage shops, and the staff were very nice. "sub-par service, cleanliness and maintenance"
The manager was hostile on the phone and in person. The bed was comfortable, but there were brown smears on the television and there was hair all over the bathroom tub, walls and floor. When I ran the shower in the morning, the tub filled with brown water! It cleared up after ~ 10 minutes of running the water. "Unexpectedly Terrific Hotel!"
This hotel was perfect for us. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable and the pillows fluffy. While the exterior isn't much, the interior of the hotel deserves more than a 2 star rating. The location was excellent. Just about everything on our to-do list ended up being within a 15 minute walk of the hotel; voodoo donuts, Saturday Mkt, Pearl District […] (Powell's Bookstore), Riverfront walk, etc. While the building across the street looks like the upper floors are condemned the rest of the neighborhood felt safe. We are two women and we felt comfortable walking everywhere, even late at night. There is a unique bar/restaurant (The Douglas FIr) almost across the street and a good coffee shop down the block. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgable. They went above & beyond with helpful information about touring the area. This will be my hotel on all my trips to Portland from here on out! Honestly I don't think I am very hard to please, however there were some things that people need to know if they are considering staying at this hotel: 1. Location: not bad, Burnside is the main avenue that separates North Portland from South Portland and it's very close to public transportation and other attractions BUT, right now (9/11-13/2012) they […] have construction going on next to the parking lot, which starts making lots of noise from ~7:30AM to ~5PM , it also thickens the air in the room with dust.. Not good :/ 2. Room itself: the bed is decent, couldn't figure out the AC/Heater but there was no need since it had plenty of blankets. Had a very convenient small fridge. Microwave if you need it. Disappointment - The smell of the room (weird Ethanol like smell), & the shower door had some mildew on the bottom border .. Esthetics: the color or the building and the whole look is bland grayish dark .. Made me think of a jail.. I wouldn't really call the Eastside Lodge a hotel...it is more of a motel. I am no stranger to "roughing it", but I must admit that upon stepping into the lobby and then subsequently my room, the thought did cross my mind to go to a nice hotel. "No frills, but comfortable, quiet & helpful staff"
It's been said before, but if you understand that with a motel like this - in this location, and at this price - you get what you pay for, you'll enjoy your stay a lot. I stayed in a room with a single king size bed that was comfortable with clean sheets and blankets. It was very hot in Portland for my entire stay, and the fact that the AC in the room […] worked perfectly was crucial. The bathroom was clean, and the shower worked well, with good water pressure. The staff were a standout highlight of my stay; the man at the front desk provided me with a map of Portland, information about the different quadrants of the city (ie. SW, NW, North Portland, etc.), and really helpful advice re: bus routes and trains. Not a lot of frills - no coffee maker, but there was a mini-fridge and safe that worked. No hair dryer, but I simply asked at the front desk and they provided me with one for the duration of my stay at no charge. Great motel for students, couples, or families that are looking for a clean, practical and (fairly) quiet room. Nothing lavish, but very acceptable. Would stay again for sure. For the lower price it was cost-effective. The rooms were kept clean and the wireless worked very well. It is a 15 minute walk to the Convention Center and from there Portland's fabulous public transportation system lets you travel anywhere. I was meeting up with a woman friend of mine and we were just hanging out for a few days and wanted to do it on the cheap. I'd stayed on the other end of Burnside last trip and wanted to see another angle. I thought the property was great, vintage early 60's No Tell Motel kind of feel but the owners had clearly given the exterior a good paint job.
