"Ohana malia"
Cheap and practical without compromising comfort and security
"Malia, We would stay again."
The Malia was clean with a helpful staff and great location. The upper south side rooms have a nice view of the city and ocean. The north facing rooms look into the bedrooms of the Courtyard Marriott and the lower floor rooms are noisy. Stay as high as possible with a south facing room. Difficult parking garage and hot tub/pool not worth putting the […] trunks on for. Lisez la suite
"ok for a short stay"
Hotel bed was very big and i slept well. The hotel room was a bit darker than I would like however it was equipped with what i needed. The lifts are so old and very slow. The pool is not worth it, it's too small and maybe ok for kids only. There was one disappointing aspect that I will not forget. I left an art print in the room and went back within […] 30 minutes of checking out to get it as it was important. The housekeeper had already destroyed it and it was not retrievable. Lisez la suite
"Good location and satisfactory stay"
We enjoyed our stay. Hotel is at the middle of everything. Good staff. We saw a small cockroach. They should take care of this. Rooms are ok and clean. Bed is nice.
"Great Hotel, Great Location"
We have stayed in many hotels in Waikiki and this motel should be rated with the best
"Good Stay at the Malia"
The Malia is a short walk to the beach- about 3 blocks. There was a free shuttle around Waikiki for hotel guests. There are lots of places to eat nearby.Staff told us about public transportation which wa a convenient way to visit Hanauma Bay for snorkeling. WE were able to arrange outings , such as to a luau in the front lobby. The hotel was quiet. We […] were in a room near the elevator and could at times hear people, but access toour floor was restricted to keyholders so it was quiet. We had a kingsized bed, which was comfortable. A coffee maker with powdered creamer was available. Free phone service to Canada and the US was a bonus. We had a bit of a snag getting the free internet working , but phoned the hotline and things were fine thereafter. Lisez la suite
"Parking garage called at 10:30 pm"
The hotel is located at the central of the Wakiki. It's very convenient location. But the service is not that great. We got a call from the garage worker at 10:30 pm to ask us to pay the first day $20 parking immediately at the middle of our stay ( we pre-paid 10 days stay). He insisted that we have to go down stair to pay it right away or he is going […] to charge us $30 more ( for the mistake they made. ). It's very rude. When I asked him why he can't call us earlier instead of 11:00 pm to wake me up, he said it's only 10:30 pm and I am only doing my job. Never appologize for calling us at 10:30 pm to wake us up. When my husband went downstair to pay that $20 dollar parking for the first day parking, we just realize how messy is their parking system. We kind of glad to get that out of our way before receiving a huge parking bill for the parking we never used. The hotel charges $20 per night for parking is extremely unreasonable. It's very hard to drive up to ramp to the parking they have and there is $8 to $10 public parking next down or ddown the street. The room we had was in the back and close to lewer st. which is a bar located. We can almost hear the noise remotely every night from 11 floor. The room has a funny smell and at the end of our stay, the house keeper starts giving us older towels. We were out most of time except the last one or two days. I probably will give a better rating if the garage guy who didn't call us at 10:30 pm. Lisez la suite
"Ohana Waikiki Malia - a better hotel than expected"
this hotel belongs to the Outrigger group and yet is one of the best in the area (Kuhio/Lewers) where the Beachwalk is and also in the center of shopping areas. the beach is only a 10-minute walk. the gay bars are just around the corner and a couple of blocks away. the International Market Place is only 3 blocks down. the rooms (Malia Tower) are well […] appointed. probably a little smaller in square footage, but it has a seating area and a small balcony to breathe fresher air. it is centralized air-conditioned. the higher floors are quieter than the lower floors. the staff are nice and warm. beds are always tidied-up. there is no room-service, but there is an IHOP next to the lobby and a sports bar as well. overall my stay in this hotel is more than satisfactory. i will stay there again on my next visit. i will also recommend this to my friends/family. "Good but controlling"
Overall I thought this stay was fine but I didn't like the way that they had the hotel on lock-down after hours. They were checking names and making it difficult to go to the room. Way overdone!!
"Ohana Waikiki Malia"
We were lead to believe we would have a king size bed and had 2 doubles. The "lanai" was verrry small almost non-exisitant . We could see the ocean in the distance. The lobby is very small. The staff very pleasant. One elevator was out of order for our entire stay. The pool is verrry tiny. The IHOP on the premises was more expensive than some of the […] nicer restaurants. The tour rep. was very helpful and informed. Room was very basic but clean. Lisez la suite
The Hotel was at a perfect location for us. Close to the beach and stores. We love it. Thank you so much.
"Very decent budget option"
A short walk from Waikiki shops and beach, friendly staff and very good value.
"Arrived and it was overbooked"
We arrived late in the evening from our long plane trip. We were sent up the service elevator to a tiny room with a small bed. The room was outside on a ledge and looked like the maid might not want to sleep there either.

"Location is great!"
Shopping, Dining, Beach, just about everything is within a few minutes walk.
"great service"
kind front desk staff, fresh flower and hair pin daily (my 10 year old daughter loved it), free pink line trolley pass... relatively spacious room, great location, clean and stylish.
"GOOD HOTEL"
room is big and in good condition, beds are comfortable.location is convient in the center, just elevaters are kinds of shaking.
"Great"
I've been staying at ohana malia every time I visit for the past six years and enjoy it every time
"Hotel itself is nice."
No doubt on this. But the elevator system is a little bit awkward. There are total three elevators and one button to stop one of those but only one elevator reaches to the parking area. It's like lottery. And road system of Waikiki is really a maze. Every street except Kuhio ave is one way, so you'll wander a lot if you try to reach there by driving. But […] like I said, hotel itself is nice. Lisez la suite
"Ohana Malia Waikiki"
Recent renovations as well as a big, relaxing hot tub made my stay memorable. The staff was mostly friendly and the sports bar was modern with great happy hours. Bar tender and staff were extra friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Location very good as well. My only gripe was one of three elevators was not in operation and when an entire high school […] marching band showed up, it took hours to get up to my room. Good thing the bar is such a friendly place to kill time. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would most definitely stay there again. Lisez la suite
"OHANA Waikiki Malia"
There where four adults in our room and we found that it was plenty big enough. The location was great. Close to shops, the International Market, places to eat all within walking distance. "Ohana Waikiki Mailia - Close to shopping and beach"
The hotel is in the middle of the Waikiki beach shopping area and a couple of blocks from the beach. The staff were helpful, the room clean. Our room was on the 18th floor and you could still hear all of the street noise. I guess that's to be expected considering the location.
"Great stopping ground"
Came in late, and all was in perfect order for us. Clean good parking, great location with convenience on every corner. Pleasant staff. Quiet. Great spot for the price! I would stay again and actually use the kitchenette. Aloha!
"Not what I expected"
Pros to this hotel: Great location, walking distance to everything in Waikiki. Staff was friendly, especially the parking attendants. However the biggest issue I have is that the rooms - or at least our room - looked nothing like the pictures on here. We were put in the "Luana" wing, so I'm not sure if the other tower has better rooms or not. After […] getting off the elevator we had to go outside to get to our room door. Our room was very old, much like a run-down budget motel. The bed was hard. Weird set-up with a sliding door to a lanai that was shared by the other rooms on our floor, which didn't exactly make me feel safe. The air conditioner worked great but was terribly loud. If we were staying any longer than 2 nights, and needed our room for anything other than just a place to sleep, it would not have been acceptable. Parking is also challenging with very narrow spots and ramps, kind of a concern bringing a rental car in there. We got a great rate but next time I will pay more to stay somewhere a little nicer. Really appreciated the use of the courtesy room at the end of the day after check out...thank you.
"ohana waikiki malia"
easy walk to beach, we hike on a fairly regular schedule at home, and walked from the ohana to thebeach down the beach to the war memorial and then thru the park and up to diamond head, to the top. and back thru residential nieborhoods to the ohana. a slow and meandering pace --7hrs--get a map of the area as we did not see any street signs that helped--the […] bus system is crouded but just fine-- seniors with medicare card only a buck, great deal, you can go where-ever you want onthe bus.--we used roberts of hawaii for the circle island tour and were not disapointed,we had cousin dave for our driver and we were thoroughly intertained and informed. "A Honolulu Experience"
If you want to stay in the heart of Honolulu then the Ohana Malia is a nice homely hotel where the staff are very helpful, always smiling and greet you whenever you come in or go out. The only inconvenience is the parking area. Very tight drive in and drive out...it's a squeeze ! Lovely restaurants nearby represent all cuisine. Within a stone's throw […] are the shops - you name the brand and they are right there. Indeed a happy experience in Honolulu ! Lisez la suite

"Excellent choice"
My partner and I stayed at the Malia for 5 nights and loved the location, the friendly staff and the room size was huge. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family and will definately be staying there again in the future... Staff members at the reception desk were very helpful and extremely friendly :-)
"The Ohana Waikiki Malia - overall a good hotel."
I stayed at the hotel for three nights and overall it was a good experience. Pros: The staff was friendly, nice, and helpful. The hotel was clean. The room was spacious. The room rates were really reasonable. The hotel is within walking distance of shops and stores. There is an IHOP connected to the hotel. Cons: I know this is a matter of opinion […] but in mine the beds were way too firm. My room was above the street and even with the patio door closed you can still hear a lot. There were lots of sirens (ambulance, police, etc). Overall, I had a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel! Lisez la suite

"Close to the mainstreet but room condition is bad"
The location is awesome and so close to the Waikiki but the room inside was too small and tiny so if you wanna a bigger place with same price choose somewhere else! If you don't mind the room size this hotel has a really good location.
"Good hotel for the price"
The rooms were clean and a good size for 2-4 people to fit comfortably. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and the building was clean and up to date. Not the prettiest hotel on the island but in my opinion was great for the price. We were only in the room long enough to sleep and shower and it was more than sufficient. The only complaint I have […] was that the beds were very uncomfortable for my friend and I. We had two queens that were large enough, but they were hard beds that felt like sleeping on box springs. Everything else was great! I would stay there again. Lisez la suite
"This is an OLD hotel"
In general I am not unhappy with my stay or am I to disappointed. The hotel was old. My room was worn and smelled mildly of mold which I was not happy about. However I did enjoy he size of the room. Internet was not available in the room as advertised by the hotel. Location is great right in the middle of Waikiki. Good luck on your vacation!
"Ohana Waikiki Malia - Ohau - Highly Recommended"
Excellent choice for our 2 week vacation. Clean, comfortable room with lovely views either way. Pack light because clean beach towels are available at the front desk each day and convenient laundry facilities in the hotel. The staff is very friendly, helpful and start each day with a smile and Aloha greeting. If you have a late flight home, they will […] store your luggage and ask about the use of the hospitality room for any last minute clean up before heading to the airport. Lots of shopping and dining within walking distance. Lisez la suite
