I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel. The only disappointment was the shower. The handle was broken and it took a while to figure out a way to turn it on, and the water pressure was not that great. Other than that, it was fine.

It was as expected and am quite satisfied.

This motel has some questionable characters who stay here. One of them booked several rooms and used them for a weekend of partying. I called the office at around 10:00 p.m. because it was so loud. It quieted down for a bit, then came back with a roar at 3:00 a.m. It sounded like a fight was going to break out. Since our room was so close to all this, […] I could hear the night manager informing them that there would be extra charges on their bill. I don't know why he didn't just kick this drunken hoard out. My daughter and I were scared. We were supposed to stay two additional nights, but didn't feel comfortable after this. I was not expecting an upscale place, I picked it for convenience to USC campus. This motel has just the basics and looks a little run down. On the positive side, they were very polite in the office. Even to the character that had kept half the motel guests up all night! When we finally got back to sleep sometime around 5:30 a.m, we were awakened by the maids' loud voices calling out to each other outside our room just a couple hours later. Lisez la suite

My daughter is a USC student. This is a basic no frills property conveniently located within walking distance of the university. Considering Los Angelos traffic this is a major plus. It is clean , safe, and also has in room coffee maker and within walking distance of eateries/fast food restaurants.

Great value for the location. Quiet and clean.

This room was comfortable but dated. There were minor upgrades to this hotel but still lacked adequate space in the bathroom area. The location of this hotel was only 3 miles to downtown Los Angeles which made it very accessible to LA Live, the Staple Center, and the nightlife of the downtown area.

It's a great place to stay with its reasonable price. Free wireless internet access, free breakfast, a small outdoor swimming pool, microwave oven in the room, what more can you ask for this price? It's not a luxury hotel, but a nice place to stay.

This hotel does not look like the BEST but it was really nice and clean and for the price I have NO complaints at all. The girl at the front desk was super nice. It's right by all the fast food places and right down the street from the Nokia, Staples & USC. The bed was super comfy! Stayed there one night to attend concert at Staples Center. The bathroom was old and the wallpaper was peeling off the wall. The area around the bathroom window needed a good cleaning with bleach. Water in bathtub didnt drain very fast so you were stuck in ankle deep water while showering. Other than the bathroom, rest of room was ok.

The Vagabond Hotel was amazing. It was pet friendly and clean. Loved the staff! Even the landscaping was inviting! I'd stay again.

Had an event at the Shrine Auditorium and this was around the corner. Didn't spend any time in the room other than sleep...it was comfortable.

Very nice location- lots of places in walking distance- bed was very comfortable- room was clean- loved the in room microwave and fridge.

All the parking was taken, although I had a parking permit from the inn there was no where for me to park & had to find parking outside. When I got there I was handed a key to a room that hadn't been cleaned. When I transferred to a new room the shower was clogged.The front desk clerk was not apologetic. Not such a pleasant experience.

Close to USC, LA science & natural history museum complex with I-max theater. It's clean, good value and has a pool.

Good location, close to USC main campus (not the heath campus, which is what I was visiting.) it was noisy, as it is surrounded by student housing areas. My bed was comfy, but the carpet had that damp, wear-your-shoes-or-risk-a-fungal-infection feel to it. The windows could be opened, but this obviously wasn't done much in the bathroom (where no an […] exists), as the window frame was moldy. The upper lock on the door was broken off, so i kept my valuables on me at all times. The "breakfast" is bagels, donuts, fruit and crappy coffee, but go early or you'll be left out on the goodies. The morning I was in the lobby (which is the size of my dining room at home), many passers-by doing the walk of shame stopped in, grabbed the very visible food in the window and left. I needed to get a room for a visit at USC and this was one of the closer hotels to campus. It wasn't very expensive and provided all the necessities for a comfortable night of sleep. The only problem is that the blankets weren't great.

This hotel was within walking distance to USC so we were able to leave the car at the hotel parking lot to walk to campus (which saved on fees!) The hotel had the basic amenities, was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this for anyone staying in the area.

The location was great because I wanted to be adjacent to the USC campus. The desk staff were very nice. The room was quite comfortable and clean. The linens could have been a little nicer, but overall I felt safe and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.

You can't beat the price and location. The weekend we were there(August 27-28), the woman and man who relieved her at midnight, were as good as it gets. Friendly, helpful, courteous and kind.

Nice clean motel with great location near L. A. Coliseum, Staples Center, and Nokia Theater. This motel is walking distance from the L. A. Coliseum in 10 minutes.... Location helps by no parking fees or no traffic headaches! Great room rates, too!

The condition of the hotel (motel, really) was not up to par, even for a 2 star hotel. There was mold in the shower, the bed was uncomfortable, and the walls were thin. The worst to me was that the water in the bathtub did not drain -- for several hours. It was disgusting. If you do choose to stay here, make sure you get a room on the 2nd floor. We […] could hear every step the people upstairs made and their bed emitted an awful metal-on-metal sound whenever they moved. It woke me up in the middle of the night and early the next morning. inexpensive and they have free parking and internet!

This is a perfect place to stay. All staff members were courteous and gave me directions to wherever I needed to go. Checking in and checking out were very efficient and required only a minimum of my time. I am very satisfied with this inn, and plan to stay here whenever I visit the USC campus. I will also recommend the Vagabond Inn to all of my friends […] and associates who may be going there in the future. I had an easy walk to the USC campus, and the surrounding area contained restaurants and shops that were convenient for my needs. Access to and from the freeway was easy. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to visit the USC campus. In fact, I am going there again tonight, and I look forward to my stay. Lisez la suite

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend 2011 (late May). Room was OK. Can be noisy at times, though (certain guests with heavy tattoos and beer...). Internet wi-fi very spotty; often didn't work. But my biggest beef is the front desk; very unhelpful, uncaring, unresponsive. Sunday night, they simply closed the front office entirely; didn't even answer […] the phone. Lisez la suite

Convenent location and clean

I stayed at the Vagabond because the Radisson was sold out. Being told that I might get murdered during the duration of my stay there, I didn't have high expectations. That being said, the hotel exceeded my expectations: 1) I am still alive, 2) the walk from the hotel to school - USC was cake, 3) free bagels, fruit, coffee, juice and donuts in the morning, […] 4) super clean rooms, they literally smelled like bleach, 5) the rooms smelled like bleach which makes you think: what the hell did they need to bleach in here? 6) pretty comfortable bed, if you have extremely low expectations, 7) It's literally half the cost of the Radisson and since you only sleep in your hotel I say save some money and stay at the Vagabond. We made a reservation for a non-smoking room. The room smelled bad and we noticed that the entire facility was smoking permitted facility though there was a tiny "non-smoking" sign on the table inside. Old building, dirty carpet, lots of tiny ants on the counter, a few live bugs (they looked harmless) here and there.... There are some positive things. […] Less expensive, continental breakfast is included, friendly services, large room, and convenient location if you are visiting USC. For a family with tight budget may find it as a great deal. If you want to stay in the hotel without smoking smell, I would not recommend this one. Lisez la suite

Hotel was perfect. Not too far from everything. Good selection of eateries in the area and comfy rooms. I would stay here again.

Apart from the construction occuring at the time of my stay, it was generally comfortable. While other reviewers have commented elsewhere regarding the food options, I found the small strip-malls full of options where I could walk, get take-out, and come back to work and eat in my room. My visit was work-related, and it was nice to be able to come back […] and work over dinner. One thing that was inconvenient about my room was the location of the DSL cable for internet-- on the other side of the room from the table where I worked. There was a long cable provided, but it was not long enough, so I had to work with my laptop as it was intended, I suppose, on my lap. Lisez la suite

When I arrived I thought the room and hotel would be a dump. To my surprise the room was clean & fresh. The bed was so comfortable. I wanted to take the bed home with me. It was very quiet & relaxing. I still cant believe how clean it is. I will recommend this hotel if you have kids or just staying alone. I will return if I am the area. Great croissants […] too! We chose this hotel because it was cheap and close to downtown. Keeping this in mind, we had a decent experience and would stay there again. Our room was basic - queen bed, dresser, TV, fridge and microwave - but clean. The parking was free (and safe) and the hotel offers a basic contintental breakfast. On the down side, the heater didn't seem to work […] well (it was the middle of winter) and one of the lightbulbs flickered off and on. Staff was helpful. Lisez la suite

We choose this hotel for its close proximity to USC campus. If you have a car there are cheaper hotels a bit further. There is a breakfast in the lobby but no tables or chairs. The hotel is a bit old and could be improved considering its price. Otherwise we have a good stay, quiet, and no complains about our stay. There are many restaurants around.

The staff at the hotel is very friendly. Room is clean. Hotel is next to USC. The only negative is that there is no access to internet at the hotel!
