A nice place to stay, with a swimming pool, a very active and fashion bar, rooms are ok.

The c-train stops right by the hotel, awesome location great service and good food.

There was a loud party in the room next to us which did not get taken care of until 11:15 at night. Very hard for us to put our 3 yr old down to sleep and at 2:00 a.m. people were running down the hall yelling. The staff greeted us nicely when we arrived but did not ask us how our stay was when we left. The pool was dirty.

Had a wonderful stay and they even went out of there way to let us park by the front door because we had an oversized truck. Thanks very much.

Disappointed to learn that parking was an add-on. 1 night at Sandman cost the same as 2 nights at Marriott Courtyard, Gatwick Airport in July 2012. Something is discrepant here.

The staff were quite nice. Good location. The rooms were pretty good. There was a moxies downstairs as well as a nice lounge on the third floor. We were quite happy with our stay.

The lobby of the Sandman hotel was about the only thing it had going for it. The rooms and hallways need to be majorly updated, the bathrooms don't have exhaust fans, the water pipes made the worst noise when turned on. The pool area and workout location is right down the hall from a lounge, having to walk by after a swim or workout just to reach the […] elevators to go back to your room. Having to pay for parking while your a guest in not right it should be included with your stay just like any other hotel. I have a run coming up in Calgary with about 23 people and would never recommend this hotel. Lisez la suite

The access to the hotel is terrible. The parkade clearance is only 6 feet, so if you have a large SUV or a truck you have to park in a lot that charges $29/night. Good location to catch the train, not so good if you want to sleep. The shower head is about 5 feet above the tub, so if you are taller than 5 feet, you will be bending over to wash your hair […] and upper body. I will drive 30 minutes before staying here again. The hotel has been nicely renovated, but the age is still noticable in some aspects. The location is close to the train and the downtown attractions, but the area right across from the hotel is sketchy. Overall a good pick for location and nice king beds.

We stayed there and had many irritating problems that ruined our stay. The water in the bath tub (for little girl) could not be set right (waaay too hot or too cold). The shower also ran while tub was filling. The hair dryer was broken. Our cards to our room didn't work several times and had to go down to change them. Getting into the room was very […] difficult, had to attempt swiping the card several times, each time. Our heater in the room kept breaking and had to call maintenance to come fix it. Then, the 3rd time I asked what he was doing and he told me to just to take the cover off and press in a small button. It was very frustrating. I also left a note with the staff noting of all our problems, the staff told me management would be in the following Monday and they would be for sure giving me a call. I waited a week and no call, then decided to call myself...left a message and have had no call back yet. I really hope they get to read this post. Lisez la suite

Convenient to downtown offices and shopping. Clean room, minor issues with hairdryer (overheated and turned off) and shower (really low head.) Overall a good place to sleep with an excellent restaurant (Moxies) on site.

Not a bad place, transit line is right outside and in the free part of the line. Only about a 15-20 min ride to the arena and casino. Nice clean hotel with an excellent resturant / bar lounge upstairs on the 2nd floor (also main resturant on lower level)

My wifes sons bought me tickets to the calgary vancouver hockey game for xmas in calgary. We decided to spend the weekend in calgary with the boys, so i booked 2 rooms for us. The rooms were left with only the beds made dirty glasses left out garbage full no coffee for the morning etc. We had to call the desk at 5 am to quiet the room next door for […] the second night. In entering the hotel there was a group of drunk and very loud teenagers hanging around in the lobby after repeated attempts at asking them to quiet down the desk clerk said he would handle it. He never did. After finally getting in our room we founds out to be very small with absolutely no amenities. The wires coming out of the side of the ancient […] tv led off in every direction. Broken remote and bad sound made it impossible to even watch tv. The decaffeinated coffee was all that could be found.and the heater had 2 levels.. Hot or cold and nothing inbetween. And could you believe on the second night they switched our room out three second room was worse.. I will never waste my money there again.. I would rather stay st a truck stop motel Lisez la suite

I finished a weeklong business trip with some colleagues and stayed at the Sandman Downtown Calgary. The rooms were nice and clean and the service was smooth. It was a nice hotel in a convenient location. The shower was finnicky (either scalding hot or too cold) but that would be the only downside to mention. Convenient location right at downtown, close to LRT, reasonably priced. free internet,

The LRT is right my window so I barely got any sleep. The heater in the room was very loud so I had to keep it off. I woke for a meeting at 7 am and there was no hot water only luke warm which I survived. Bathroom was very small so I had to get dressed in the room. Parking for my truck was down the street but it was not too bad. Room was clean and bed […] was modestly comfortable. Staff were ok nothing special. The hotel has a moxies which is a plus. The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Calgary's downtown. Our room was on the 23rd floor. Views towards the river were great! The room we had was a "Junior Corporate Suite" with a king bed and a separate sitting area. The room was tiny and was no larger than any other hotel room. Definitely not worthy of "Corporate Suite" status. The bathroom […] was tiny, the bathroom fan didn't work and the finishings of the bathroom were in need of repair. The door had water damage on it, the tiles were needing some repairs to the grout and the countertop looked like it was broken. The bathroom had a smell to it like stale water or something. Definitely not a welcoming place. While the rooms aren't disgusting, or uncomfortable, they just aren't as welcoming as you'd expect from a Sandman hotel. I would have a hard time recommending this hotel to others as there are so many other great hotels in Calgary that are much nicer. Got these rooms for a good price... guess you really do get what you pay for. Lisez la suite

The room was excelent and well kept. It was located right by the 24 hour Macs store as well as the train station and TD Square Mall. Luxurious restaurant and lounge as well as pool and gym. Had a great weekend!

I've stayed here many times and for location and price it's a great deal. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Moxies Grill has an excellent choice of dishes. The M Bar was nicely done and has many TV's around the facility for sports, though limited on their selections of beer. The workout room was sparse, just a few pieces of equipment but enough to […] keep me from missing my workouts. The rooms are comfortable and clean. This time I had a refrigerator and microwave making my extended stay more pleasant. I'll likely stay here again, though for the length of time I stay I may try and get a suite next time. Have stayed here a number of times before as it is very centrally located, but never in the winter. Last week it was -25 and the first room I was given, the heater didn't work, so I called down to the front desk and was told to wait 10 mins for the heater to warm up. It never did, so they sent the maintainance man and he played with the heater. It worked […] for 15 mins, then stopped again, so I called back and they moved me to a different room. Woke the next morning and no heat! They managed to fix it during the day and it worked fine after that. Judging by the amount of negative conversations with other guests in the elevator about heat not working and seeing mini heaters everywhere, i think it time to update the heating system Sandman. I won't stay there again when it's cold. Staff were great and handled issues well. Lisez la suite

Mattress was in vey bad condition. It was like seeping on a hammock. I had a vey poor sleep.

This is an old hotel with little character. I am speaking of their employees when I refer to character. I arrived in the early am due to flight delays. I got to the room to hear a toilet running and the ice machine directly outside my door humming. I called and asked for a room change. I was told they were unaware of a running toilet and that the ice […] machine needed to be on for people who need pop in the middle of the night. It was 2:30 am. I was moved. Well I called for room service a couple of nights later and the person brought me up a tray full of water. My napkin was soak and wet. I asked her why she did not dry the tray. She looked at me like I had two heads. Also the ultimate of insults was the fact my soda was not covered. Someone had put the straw in the glass and it was brought to me in this manner. This hotel was steps away from the Reggae Fest so was very convenient in that respect. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. At first glance the room was clean, but then we noticed spots where stuff had run down the walls in the bathroom. The rest of the room was very clean but the bed was not very comfortable. The attached restaurant […] had terrible service other than the bartender. The tables were left littered with the remnants of past diners meals and there appeared to be some staffing issues as the Manager led a gal away "to chat". Lisez la suite

To be fair, I am writing this as a disabled person who tries to fit in with the mainstream. I contacted the hotel to inform them that I was disabled and they put me next to the lift but the bath/shower was a no no as all the controls were at floor level, unusual these days so a shower was out. There was only one disabled bay near the lift in the car […] park that we could use so that was a problem. The good thing is that there is a Tim Hortons opposite. As it is in the City Centre, a lot is closed at the weekend and the beer in the bar is expensive. The Staff were all very kind and helpful. Lisez la suite
