"Not what we expected and not worth the cost."
Not worth the cost and did not meet the top standards of Choice Hotels we are used to staying. this was an old motel that is being remodeled. The ice machine was broken, the shower was hard to turn on, stool worked but my wife had trouble flushing it (I need to apply more force to operate it). "Great value for a quick overnight ski trip"
Stayed there overnight on a weekend ski trip to Terry Peak. Have stayed at other hotels in that area of Spearfish several times. This place was not a nice as the Hampton across the street or the Holiday Inn, but he price was less than 1/2. People were very friendly. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was better than average. Pool area was showing it's age, […] but was clean. Kids love it. "Not to bad"
The room was just fine, clean and a lot of room except for the bathroom. Very good location easy access to interstate, shopping, and food. Not to happy with the breakfast, area is to small no place to sit and was not stocked very well. The pool area is also to small and not much fun.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"Good stay but Firm/hard beds!"
Everything was very good except the bed where very...very FIRM! Good if you have a bad back but not so good to everyone else. Over all was a great and clean and quiet place to stay, breakfast was plentiful and well presented. Work on the beds and you have a perfect place!Avis véridique Expedia

"Great Stay"

"Bacteria and Dirty Towels"
This hotels pool must not be cleaned regularly my son picked up a skin bacteria from the pool. Also once we checked out I was charged 15 dollars for dirty Towels. Really dirty towels isn't that why they wash them?Avis véridique Hotels.com

Reason for a "3" under Quality of Hotel Service is the check- in clerk seemed to have the attitude he really didn't care if we stayed there or not. We had reservations and upon arrival I went to check in and the clerk was not at all friendly. Everything else was very acceptable.Avis véridique Hotels.com
"quick stop before the Black Hills"
After carefully considering all the other reviews about this hotel, I decided to go ahead and book our stay, and am very glad I did. Beds were very comfortable and room itself was spacious, although the bathroom was a little tight. We checked in about midnight and the desk clerk had a little trouble accessing our reservation, but everything ended well! […] Didn't get a chance to use the pool, but everything else was very much to our liking! Breakfast was pretty good, usual hot and cold choices! "Quality Inn Spearfish in general area"
The room was nice and the people friendly. The breakfest was better then most. Over all a nice place. Some small problems. 1)the curtains were not black outs and pretty thin. So when the sun came up the room got pretty bright. 2) I don't know if the wall were thin or what but you could hear went anyone close to your room took a shower or used the bathroom. […] 3)For some reason the Electronic keys would keep losing their program. We were there for two nights and had to have them re-programmed 3 times. Just saying. "No Elevator!"
There were no major problems in this hotel, however, when carrying lots of bags the last thing you want to do is go up a bunch of stairs. An elevator when traveling is a must-have for us so we were very disappointed about that.Avis véridique Hotels.com
