"Room smelled& falling apart"
I can't believe that was a Hilton. I work in the oil fields if Nodak and the mancamps are nicer and don't smell as bad. Paying for internet? Are you kidding?! The shower curtain hanger was falling out of the wall. No soap or shampoo. Charging over $5 for a $1 bottle of water? I could not get over how musty the room smelled. This is a business area and […] I couldn't charge a phone and a computer at the same time because of the lack of outlets. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. But..... "Its a hotel nothing to really rave about"
When you think Hilton, you think of a pretty nice hotel. The hotel was definitely nice but lacked the wow factor. I paid full rate since I booked 3 days in advance. Maybe its because I travel so much that Im not impressed by it. But really complimentary breakfast would have been nice. The location isn't bad but it is a bit far from the city and houston's […] traffic is pretty bad. I probably won't stay here again, I will try something different. we went with family and kids, hotel has free parking, is on a busy street full of restaurants so that was a plus, the lobby had free WiFi but it was freezing cold and uncomfortable, i asked for a room with a view and they said that there was construction going on upstairs beyond 3rd floor, but i saw several people on the elevator going to higher floors. "Great value and location"
The hotel is in a great location - near the Sam Houston tollway and only a few miles from HWY 59. The decor is pleasing and modern. There is a 50 inch LCD TV in the room. The bed and pillows are nice and comfortable. The bathroom has a granite counter top and updated fixtures. The only problem was that we had to change rooms after the first night because […] the shower was not working properly. Half the water came out of the shower head,and the other half came out of the tub faucet. In our second room there was an inexplicable wet spot on the carpet near the bathroom door. We did not bother changing rooms because it wasn't a big deal, and we were only staying in Houston for two nights. I still think the hotel is a good value, and I would definitely stay there again. "Diamond in the Rough - Come Hungry, Leave Happy."
Wonderful experience. Spent the night with spouse for a weekend getaway. Not our first stay here. We love the location as it is close to many attractions on West side of Houston. We spent evening at City Center which is a great date night location. As for the Hotel: the staff was kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and nice. Great view of Houston. The […] real draw to this hotel is the Rio Ranch Restaurant. Their food is THE BEST IN HOUSTON. Never crowded and loud. Great place to have a quiet dinner with your loved ones. We stayed in the Executive Suite which comes with a complementary Breakfast which is down in the Rio on the weekends. Their BREAKFAST was amazing! We have been visiting this Restaurant for years and will continue to. Great stay, quality rooms, friendly staff, central location, and great food. Surroundings are little shady, but it is Houston. The room was nice, however, the bathroom was not well kept. There was mold/mildew in the ceiling of bathroom and the bathroom was tiny compared to the spacious room. Water pressure in shower was terrible. For the cost of the hotel, we were really disappointed. For the same price we should have stayed around the corner at the Hyatt.
