"Great place but service can be nasty"
My wife and I stayed at the Waldorf for 7 nights in March for our honeymoon. The hotel itself is amazing and it overlooks the city. Ensure you get a room facing the city to really enjoy this place. Further, to actually justify the costs, it makes the most sense to get a room on floor 7 or 8 with access to the imperial club. You get free food and drink […] all day. Now the downside. They asked me to sign-up for Hilton Reward points several times during check-in. Extremely tacky given the reason for my stay and the amount I was paying. I don't care about your rewards. They also woke us up 30 minutes early for a wake-up call, lost/didn't make a reservation for us for dinner (when we confirmed that day, they had no idea we had even made one), the room was insanely hot (central air system and air conditioning isn't turned on until mid-spring), and the concierge was even rude to us on more than one instance. Not what you'd expect at a five star hotel. Given that, we raised it with the manager and they upgraded our room and apologized. Nonetheless, on our last day, the concierge was still a jerk and the beat went on like you would be staying at a 4 star or maybe even 3 star hotel. Overall, again, 'luxury' and quiet location away from Rome. However, I have to imagine the Four Seasons to be comparable considering overall value. Even the Westin, considering overall value, might actually beat this place. Lisez la suite

"Lovely Hotel but poor service"
I booked the Rome Cavalieri for a special weekend away with my fiance and although the hotel itself was beautiful the service I received was very poor. It started the moment I tried to check in; the receptionist spent 5 minutes trying to up sell us to a suite on the 7th floor despite the high price I had already paid for the balcony room with Rome views. […] This got a little awkward as I had to say no several times. In the evening I needed a shirt ironing but when I called guest services I was told this would cost me twenty five euro and I couldn't do it myself in my room-not what you expect from a hotel that charges several hundred pounds a night. Luckily Rome was fantastic so the disappointment of the hotel didn't overshadow our stay. The location is also very poor for a city break as it is a long way by taxi to any of the cities attractions. "A luxurious hotel with beautiful views of Rome"
This is definately one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with fantastic views of Rome. Our only (small) complaint is the price of food and drink. However everything else was perfect and so if I ever get the chance, I will stay there again!
"Hotel Cavalieri - Luxury at its best"
The Cavalieri is a beautiful hotel wtih all the amenities of a luxurious resort. We were so glad that we chose it for our stay in Rome and will recommend it to everyone. The only negative we found is that they charged 18 euros for a chair and towel at the pool. With the room rate they charge, we felt the use of the poolside area should not be an extra […] fee. "Rome Cavalieri"
The hotel is very luxurious, the service is excellent and the location is far enough away from the center to be relaxing, yet close enough to access all that Rome has to offer.
"Rome Cavaleri"
The most expensive hotel ever visited. 250ml water €8 Bar of chocolate €12 Pringles tiny packet €9 If using pool & lounger as a hotel guest €31 per day plus additional fee for any extra towels. One colleague bought three normal drinks and a club sandwich by the pool bar and it cost €117
"Honeymoon in Rome"
Beautiful and clean hotel. We stayed on the 8th floor and had access to the Imperial Lounge on the 7th floor which was wonderful and worth every penny. The hotel provides a shuttle that goes into the center of the city which is very helpful.
"Rome Cavalieri"
A perect combinationof a resort and a downtown hotel. Spectacular grounds, great service. Excellent resturant. A definite resting spot while touring Europe
"2nd Hotel in Rome"
Very nice hotel, spa was fantastic and would highly recommend to others. Numerous fees for everything, including using chairs at pool. Was a little too much. Prices for food we extreme. It seemed that hotel guests were having same issues we were observing. Staff very nice and helpful, English speaking. Babysitters available which was great!! View was […] excellent, no shuttle service as described. Taxi to attraction areas were only about $10 and 10 min. so not a big deal. Would stay again but be aware of excessive additional costs. "Rome away from Rome."
Beautiful hotel, excellent service. Very pricey, but ultimately worth it, one of the best concierge services I have encountered. A bit far from the main attractions in Rome, but they have a shuttle service and there are always taxis/cars. But then, you may not want to leave the hotel/spa at all.

"Amaziing"
This hotel was incredible. It was amazing... We were on our honeymoon and the service was outstanding.
"Great hotel ... a little off the beaten path"
Exactly what you would expect of a Waldorf. Great hotel, great staff, etc. Dining manager upstairs was a bit snooty. Only real negative is distance from everything ... shuttle is limited, but cab fare is not unreasonable ($10-12 per ride).
"Rome 5star"
Hotel was fantastic. Prices a bit much, but quality of room and facilities the best.
"Great true 5-star accommodations in Rome"
Fantastic Hotel. Rooms and facilities of 5 star US quality, a must to know in Rome. Best fitness facility I have come across in Europe travels. Very pricey food options, though, so get rate for inclusive option with breakfast. Overall, would definitely return.
"Snobby staff, far from sights"
Do not use this hotel unless you are looking to spend a lot of money within the hotel. Nothing is included in the cost of the hotel. You have to pay to use a sunbed and get 1 towel, a second towel was additional. The food and drink was also considerably overpriced. The cost of things wouldn't be so bad if there were other options around, but the hotel […] is isolated from other businesses and a cab or shuttle is required to go in to the city. The staff will know right away if you will be spending lots of money with them, and if not, be prepared to be treated badly. At check in, their computer system was down and they told us to just "come back later". We had nowhere to go (especially with our luggage) and when we appealed to them, the representative went to a different computer and all of a sudden we could check in. Later, we asked the bellhop where the shuttle was located and he pointed it out to us. 15 minutes later, when the shuttle still hadn't arrived, we asked when it arrived and he informed us it would be another half hour, so he was just going to let us stand in the sun for 45 minutes if we hadn't asked. We got that shuttle and were informed that last pick-up from downtown was 8:00pm. We arrived at 7:45 to be sure and us, along with about 15 other hotel guests waited until 8:30 before we finally realized no shuttle was coming. When a guest called the hotel they had no answer to where the shuttle was. But, the biggest issue we had was with the concierge service. We asked how to get to the airport the next morning and were informed to get a taxi 45 minutes before we wanted to arrive at the airport. The concierge knew, however of a taxi strike occurring that same morning. We got a letter under our door that morning and when we called down to the concierge, he said he would get us a private car for 90Euro and would call me back in 10 minutes. He never called back and after 20 minutes we headed downstairs and were told that now we would have to wait an hour for the c Lisez la suite
"Awsome Hotel"
All four members of our party loved this hotel. Truly 5 stars. Shuttle service to Rome Central was great. We did not eat at the beautiful restaurants on site, as their menu prices were quite expensive compared to nice restaurants we visited in Rome. This is certainly a world class hotel.
"World class hotel far from everything."
If you want a true 5 star hotel in a quiet area this is for you, but be prepared to pay for taxis and living by the hotel shuttle timetable. The hotel is a good half hour from anything in Rome, which is a plus or minus depending on your situation. Be aware that there is nothing near the hotel, so take sundries with you or you will be paying 10 euros […] for a soft drink or bottle of water if you need one. It is beautiful, with a stellar view of the city - which only the best rooms get. We spent far too much time shlepping back and forth from the city than we should have. Lisez la suite
"Waldorf Experience"
I recently stayed at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria on a trip to Italy to celebrate a friends 50th birthday with 3 old high school friends. All we could say when we entered the hotel was "wow" and how we wished we had more than one night there. Shame the hotel is a cab ride away from city, but well worth it to stay there. Front desk was very helpful. […] We enjoyed some wonderful music from the gentleman playing the piano (and his singing, too). Drink prices at bar were quite a shock, however. Overall stay was great. "Roman Holiday"
This is the finest hotel I have experienced. The view of Rome from our room was breathtaking. They had fireworks one night, and a sumptious breakfast was included. It is high end luxury at a very reasonable price.
"Extremely nice hotel--Not well located"
I thought based on the information about this hotel that it would be well located (the info says it's 1.5 km from the Vatican), but it turns out it's way up a giant mountain overlooking Rome and very out of the way for tourists--the 1.5 km is apparently "as the crow flies", but cars do not fly that way. It is a beautiful, elegant hotel, and very nice […] in every respect other than location. The hotel runs a shuttle once/hour till 8pm to take people back and forth into Rome, but we arrived late and took taxis instead. It is also a very large hotel without local flavor--it would be good for a large business conference, for instance, but not as good for a family vacation. Lisez la suite
"AMAZING hotel. Difficult location"
The Rome Cavalieri is the most lavishly luxurious hotel that either my fianceé or I had stayed in. It's simply amazing. However, it is rather far from Rome's attractions - even the Vatican, which is closest, is a 15 euro cab ride away. HIGHLY recommended for honeymooners, not as much for those who plan to be out and about.
"Cavalieri hotel Rome"
A fantastic hotel with everything you could wish for to hand. The view over Rome is stunning! However the view from the back of the hotel is not good as it consists of run down flats and a HUGE TV mast belonging to RAI TV & Radio.Ensure you ALWAYS ask for a room with the Rome view.

"A quiet location away from the city"
This hotel is in a very quiet location away from all the hussle and bussle of the city centre the hotel has it's own courtesy bus for you to get back and forth approx 20mins each way depending in the volume of traffic (you are in Italy) Dropped of at the Berini next to the metro which will take you to the Collouseam or a good walk of 30mins and you […] will need your hotel MAP,Over all a must see city and a fantastic Hotel it gets our tick in the box.I no there is a lot on negative reviews about the Hotel but they all seem to come from Americans. While we were there lots of Brits no problems at all few from USA but did not have body wingeing at all may be they just want every thing done for them.Make sure you ask for a room with a Rome City View it is superb. "hotel cavalieri is my favourite hotel"
this hotel ticks all the boxes from the views of rome to the amazing comfort in the rooms. The lunch restaurant was dissapointing and very overpriced so I wouldnt eat there during the day but the breakfast was out of this world!!
Having searched the internet for months deciding what hotel to stay in I finally booked here. I have to say its the best hotel experience ive had to date. I stayed on the imperial floor which was well worth it and recommend the hotel to anyone. The service was impeccable and the overall experience was fantastic. Five Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hotel is great in all respects, but quite pricey. If you can afford it, well worthwhile.
"Rome Cavaliere - Somewhat repugnant luxury"
When you book a hotel at this standard (and price) you would expect a flawless check in, top notch service, seamless stay with nothing in your way of enjoying your vacation. Whilst superbly decorated, fairly well located and equipped with amenities, that can not make up for the worrysome experience during check in (mix up with the room type) which lasted […] for 45 minutes while we were (a couple) standing in front of the receptionists and listening to their conversations, and than again at the spa entrance (mix up with the room type) and than again a the outdoor pool (mix up.. you get the picture). The executive lounge is great, the terrace view in particular, except after the check in ordeal (around 22.30) they did not offer a single piece of any salty food, despite making us wait at the reception beforehand, despite advertised working hours till 23. Rooms are ok, but employees never went out of their way for us, no surprise bottle of wine or anything, although I informed the hotel that we went for the anniversary. Lisez la suite

"Tooooo far away"
I can't imagine why anyone would want to stay here. It is a good 20 minute car drive from anything. The hotel, room and grounds are beautiful. If you are Roman and want a romantic getaway, maybe, but be prepared to pay through the nose for any/everything. I would state that it does qualify for a 5 Star rating for the condition, but a 1 for staff. Arrogant, […] snobbish and condescending is a compliment. I had read a previous review that lounge chairs at the pool were a fee. I called the concierge to verify and he stated there was no fee or restriction. When we arrived at the pool, the fee was 16 Euros! which at the time worked out to be about $30USD! Further, we could not lounge at pools edge unless we paid this fee. I understand a hotel charging whatever they want if they can get it. I do not appreciate incorrect info. If you stay, be sure to use the free shuttle they have in to town every hour until 8 at night. "The Hotel to stay at in Rome"
Excellent staff, facilities. Whilst a 10 euro taxi ride from the centre, the views are stunning and there is a complimentary shuttle running at certain times. Make sure you pay the extra to ensure a city view room.
