Diva at the Met - The hotel's award-winning restaurant has a 600-entry wine list. Open for three meals a day, it specializes in contemporary Canadian cuisine using fresh, seasonal regional ingredients. Longtime menu favorites include wild sockeye salmon, smoked Alaskan sablefish, and cinnamon-smoked duck. Decor is elegant—marble and original art abound—but guests are welcome to come as they are.

In addition to its own health and recreation facilities, which include a fitness center and a 40-foot indoor pool and spa, hotel staff can arrange excursions to some of the region's finest golf courses, including Westwood Plateau and Furry Creek on the Sea to Sky Highway. This hotel has to be one of the most convenient to downtown and the public transportation which is literally three blocks away. I used the fitness facility which was more than adequate although some of the cardio equip is at the pool (there is a fan to cool you though) There is a steam and sauna in the locker room. The rooms are really quite nice and the bathroom had both a tub and shower. I thought that it was a true value. The concierge service was helpful and all staff was friendly.

We could not have been more pleased with the Metropolitan Hotel, it is a gem in every polished fashion. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer. It's location is perfect, you can walk to almost every tourist area and the subway (Canada Line/SkyTrain.) The cost factor is a little high, but well worth every cent!

We chose this hotel in downtown Vancouver for a 2 night stay before getting on a cruise ship based on location, previous reviews, and a special price on hotels.com. Since we didn't have a car there, it was conveniently located. The staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were nicely decorated, good size, and clean, and the facilities in general were very nice. We especially appreciated the use of their complimentary internet and computers in their nicely equipped business center. Beds were very comfortable and they supplied the hypo-allergenic bedding we had requested in advance. Overall, a very nice place to stay in downtown Vancouver and we were very happy with everything. Other hotels/motels in the outskirts of town are less expensive, but this was a convenient location for our short stay.

Very comfortable, private and comprehensive Business Center with 15 minutes free Internet. Concierge arranged a whale watch tour, to begin after our check out the next morning. We were reimbursed for the taxi to the pier. Our luggage was stored for us and then we were comped for a taxi to the airport. The Metropolitan Hotel did not meet our expectations. They exceeded our expectations in every way. Our party of two couples arrived for a 3:00 PM check in at 8:00 AM . We were immediately

The Met is a favourite for us -- very centrally located downtown and fairly easy to access when driving in and out of the downtown core. While kind of pricey, a stay at the Met is a treat -- very comfortable with lots of amenities and an awesome restaurant.

I loved this hotel. Had a conference at the convention center and this was within a ten minute walk. It was much more reasonably priced than the conference hotels but just as swanky. The bathroom was huge and I loved that there was a separate shower. My only complaint was that I had a little issue getting the internet to work consistently. If I unplugged the ethernet cord it took a few hours before it would recognize my computer and let me on again. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel in a minute.

the hotel is in a perfect location for touring and transportation. It is centrally located neat all transportation I couldn't have selected a better location. The room was large and the bathroom was wonderful. The bed was most comfortable and the wifi worked perfectly. I'd send my family and friends there any time.

"Great location - bad pillows and parking."

Very good looking hotel. Great location - right in the middle of everything. Parking is pain. We parked in Pacific Centre across the street to save money and carried our baggage in. Didn't make it to the pool or hot tub. They still have construction next door but they didn't wake us up. We had down filled pillows which were very thin. Both of us woke up with neck pain every morning. We should have asked for different pillows.

Located very close to Robson Street, shopping, dining etc. excellent service, very friendly staff. Only a one stay this time but definitely will return.

Overall a great place to stay. The only hickcup I had was an issue with an "upgrade" which took about an hour to correct. It's right in the location I wanted and I have no complaints other than the check-in process.

We had a great stay in downtown Vancouver. Great location, wonderful soft beds and all the Granny Smith apples you could eat. I would highly recommend this downtown jewel of a hotel.

"Nice location. Nice bathrooms. Lousy Elevators."

The elevators were out the day we were there. We had to use the service elevator in the meantime. It would have been nice to receive some type of discount or perk for the inconvenience. Long waits to get up and down from our 9th floor room. This wasn't a temporary problem. The elevators were out when we arrived and were still out when we left. Other than that it's a nice hotel in a good location.

central to everything. very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Very accomodating for my sm daog. Award winning restaurant downstairs.

The room was as I had hoped for large and clean, but the staff really made this a great hotel. I am a bit slovenly by nature and noticing that they had hung my pants up on a chair and brought in the newspaper when I came back to my room was quite nice. I found the staff at the front desk and door equally helpful.

"Really Great, European-Style Hotel"

My mother and I really loved this hotel. The staff was terrific and the room was really nice and clean and the bathroom had both a tub and shower. I would stay here again and look forward to a return visit.

We stayed at the Met during the Labor Day weekend! The location is great! It's right in the middle of Downtown area. Walking distance to a lot of places like shopping malls, restaurants, museum and Canada Place (awesome spot because Canada Place has shuttles to go to different spots in Vancouver). So, if you don't want to drive (just in case you didn't know parking is very expensive in Vancouver!), I recommend walking and this place is great because there are a lot of places you can go just by walking to them! We paid a discounted rate so for that rate, it was an awesome deal! However, if it's not discounted, I think the hotel is pretty pricey. I guess it's to be expected since it is directly across Four Seasons Hotel. You may hear some noise from constructions in the neighboring area, but hopefully that'll be over soon. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and couldn't have chosen a better place for our visit.

The location was great, in the downtown area. The neighboring building had some renovation going on. Some extra discount would have been great considering this fact ;-) Great service!

Great Downtown Hotel - If you like to be in the midst of the city this is the place. Desk and Consierge service was top rate. Small Health Club on site available to guests (at no charge) - including Squash Court for those so inclined. Convenient to Convention Center, Canada Place and the just opened Canada Line train which can take you to the airport for $6.50 instead of the $30.00 cab fare. Diva (one of Vancouvers top rated restaurants) is on site. Very nice hotel. There is currently construction going on next to the hotel, BUT WE DIDN'T NOTICE

"Great Hotel-didn't care for the dining..."

The Met was a wonderful hotel with very nice rooms, especially the bathroom! The only thing we didn't care for was the in house restuarant, which was very expensive and didn't cater to everyday dining, and the fact that they charged $19.00 just for a continental breakfast! Granted, it was delivered to your room, but still....
