"Museum Hotel in Wellington - inner city location"
I booked a harbour view room and as nice as the room was, the view was of the car park across the street not the harbour. We were woken early the next morning by the sound of dripping water and soon found out it from coming through the ceiling in the bathroom. The Duty Manager offered us another room which we accepted only to find out it was smaller […] than our first room and still no view. Lisez la suite
"Museum Hotel-close to main mueseum."
Staff is warm and helpful. Proximity to museum a big plus. Room size relatively small but was OK for two nights. Long lines at cable car ride. Suggest taking cab to top, take in the view, tour the gardens and ride down for the return.
"Museum Art Hotel - gret location, stylish"
Eye catching hotel with friendly staff. The artwork is breathtaking! Only downside for us was that were given a room with a lousy view, but we not in the room all that often for that to be a big drawback. The hotel restaurant, Hippopotamus, is worth visiting with fabulous French food and staff.
Fantastic location and very funky and comfortable hotel. Amazing art work and restaurant and bar.

"Central, convenient but very noisy"
Kind staff, great restaurant but the room was very small and when someone talked in the hallway - it felt like they were in the room. Moving furniture around on the floor above - the conference room probably - tll midnight did not support a good night's sleep either.
"Rooms are highly variable"
We had two rooms. The first was a slightly more expensive harbour view room which was amazing, with a great balcony. However, on the last night, they didn't have that available and we had to move to a standard room, which was very stuffy, small and the windows didn't open. The hotel itself is excellent, with great staff and really interesting art work […] on the walls. Lisez la suite
"Museum hotel wellington"
Friendly staff.Great room and the best view around.Overall a comfortable stay and very reasonable rates.
"Quirky, creative, elegant comfort"
The Museum Hotel did not disappoint. I was as impressed by the staff as by the creative, elegant and sometimes humorous appointments throughout the hotel. It was the genuine art (no mass produced design work here) particularly that made my stay memorable. I unfortunately didn’t get to dinner in the Hippopotamus Restaurant though I can recommend the […] poached eggs for breakfast and that the service was always impeccable. The staff smiled with genuine pleasure at my slightly awestruck enjoyment too, they were very lovely. If it were possible I would have stayed longer and hope to return soon. Lisez la suite
Great location helpful staff but the rooms are airless, we have all come home sick.

"Museum Hotel good choice for a stay in Wellington"
This hotel is in an excellent location close to the harbor with all its restaurants and activities. It is also across the street from the Te Papa museum. They offer on site valet parking which is very convenient. It is also a short drive to the inter-island ferry ports. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location and quality of service.
"Unique boutique well situated"
Great boutique hotel in perfect location for visiting Te Papa. Small swimming pool adequate for lap swimming. Unique and interesting decor. Staff, like in other NZ hotels, recent arrivals not too familiar with the city.
"Sydney Museum hotel"
Very good value, well located for walking access to shops and restaurants, and staffed by low key, helpful people. Altogether a very pleasant stay.
I was particularly attracted to the central city location and history of your hotel. For me the art work, so willingly displayed throughout the hotel, was an absolute delight. I also enjoyed the catalogue/overview of the art works which I asked to view and was available at reception. Congratulations.
"Stylish and convenient"
We were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment which had a small kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Opposite Te Papa, and the road a 3 minute walk behind the hotel was the stop for the airport express-Courtney Place-number 91. We were disappointed that the restaurant was fully booked during our stay(the week before Christmas) because we had heard […] good reports about it. A lovely hotel. Lisez la suite
"First step in, you'll be hooked."
Claire and Cherie great you as you arrive.... Smiles, helpful, extending themselves, not only through check-in, but beyond. Then, there's the complete outstanding nature in which the hotel it's self presents the magnificent artwork on display. The rooms are gorgeous... Clean spaces and the Hippopotamus Restaurant was on par with any five star anywhere..... […] Timothy and Laurent work as a team as the front and back of the operation in perfect tandem. The food, the service, the wine, all beyond. One of the best dining experiences of my life. Check out was easy, seamless as was my early morning transfer to the airport. When in Wellington, stay at the Museum Hotel... Not only across the street from the magical Te Papa, and on the waterfront, but it's staff and more..... You won't regret it. Lisez la suite

"Character Hotel"
Something a bit different. No complaints about room. Will stay there again. Only shortcoming was junior breakfast staff. Supervisor very freindly and food was fine but restaurant staff spent more time attending to tables than people so service was a little on the slow side.
"Museum Hotel Wellington NZ"
This hotel is so unique. Its old world charm with stunning artworks sprinkled throughout the building make a most memorable experience. You can spend quite some time admiring & interpreting the many types of art on display,or sitting back relaxing to the jazz sounds on an early friday evening. Is a stones throw from the cities best nightspots & restaurants. […] Its own restaurant is one of the best anywhere.I stayed in a harbourview room. There was a lovely water view from the large balcony off the large size suite. I would return to Wellington just to stay in this hotel. Great value & service you will remember. Lisez la suite
"Museum Hotel right in the middle of it all!"
My two daughters and I recently spent three nights here as part of few days away from our home in Auckland and were really struck by the value for money experience. Not that this was cheap but we were there to shop, see two plays and look around Welly. This place is clean, tasteful, considerate, artistic, and comfortable to an apparent variety of guests. […] We totally enjoyed ourselves and the accommodation offered more amenities for the rate than any place we have stayed in NZ. The washing machine was a particularly nice amenity, although we did not use it. The decor made one think of the "art hotels" one finds in the States but without the usually older and worn building structure. Lisez la suite

"The Museum Hotel in Wellington-close to all"
All in one we enjoyed our stay. The room was a little bit small but still enough space for 2 of us. The service( 24/7 ) is excellent and we would stay again. I was a bit disappointed from the bath room after all the art and design of the hotel although the water pressure was perfect. Unfortunately we could not open a window so the air condition was […] running all the time. But never mind. We paid a good price and got a very nice and quiet room. The Hotel has a pool ( one line swim ), a sauna and gym what we enjoyed too.( clean ) The Hotel is opposite the Museum and very close to the city.( we had no traffic noise at all ) ( you may walk 2 min to the restaurants, pubs, movies and the Theater and 10 min for shopping ) If friends would ask me where to stay in Wellington i would recommend the Museum Hotel first.I loved the paintings and the art. This Hotel may is a bit old fashion but this makes it so unique. Isa/husband April2010 Lisez la suite
"Nice design hotel in a funky area of the city"
The hotel is just behind the Te Pappa, Museum of New Zealand. Not very central, but Wellington is quite sizable so the city centre is just a 20 min walk from the hotel.
