hôtel ancien bien entretenu .Bonne situation. Dommage que la porte d'entrée principale est toujours ouverte car il fait froid dans tout le hall d'entrée à la réception et au bar c'est pas très agréable. Je n'ai pas eu la meilleure chambre situé au 3 ème étage j'étais decu..

Un très bel hôtel,plus que correct avec du personnel a l'écoute et disponible. Nous y avons passé une semaine et nous y retournerons sans problème. L'hôtel ce situe sur POWELL STREET dans le centre ,juste devant l'arrêt du cable car. Tout est a disposition ,restaurants,pub,magasins. Je conseil cet Hôtel qui rapport qualité prix est très bien. Hôtel idéalement situé pour une visite rapide de San Francisco. Accueil chaleureux, personnel serviable. Câble-car au pieds de l'hôtel. Chambre 2 queen beds satisfaisante pour une famille de quatre avec pré-ados.

bien placé au centre de SF. l'accueil du personnel est limite.La SDB est petite.Le px du parking (51 usd /nuit ) prendre pluttôt un parking public.

Hôtel très élégant, confortable, à la propreté irréprochable. Chambre spacieuse et calme. Personnel très aimable et à l'écoute. "Concierges" très professionnelles, patientes, claires et sympathiques. Cet établissement est très bien situé et répond à tous les critères d'un hôtel de luxe. Je n'ai aucune critique négative à formuler.

Bon hotel à proximité du centre commercial de San Francisco et de centre d'affaires

L'h^tel est très bien situé dans la ville, même si le cable car est bruyant, cela fait partie du charme de San Francisco. Notre chambre était assez petite, pas de place pour une table de chevet. C'était le seul bémol. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la qualité du service à l'accueil.

Hotel was elegant and nicely furnished but lacked some expected amenities. There was no coffee maker in the room so that meant a trip to the lobby in the morning for free coffee. Although we were pretty close to the elevator we couldn't hear it which was good. Wonderful hotel centrally located in Union Square. I would definitely considerate staying here again.

Elevators and some of the common areas need updating, like new carpet and wall materials. Old hotel with lots of decor updates 9in the bar and bedrooms) but they could use a real renovation. There looked like there were layers and layers of paint on the wood surfaces. Bathrooms are uber-small! Not great toiletries. Room 917 was ABSOLUTLY gorgeous for my single night stay. Although I did not get in until 4:00am, I slep like a baby in my plush room and cozy bed... Forever STELLER, Forever The Drake!!!!!!

Very nice boutique hotel just by Union Sq in San Fran, The hotel is very clean, rooms are decent size for a city hotel and well yet not overly appointed. Huge closets, as big as a home closet! Staff is also quite friendly. BART station within 3 block walk, cable car right outside and many diners, restaurants, pubs can stores nearby.

Nice hôtel, Staff is friendly. Nice location, close to everything. Scala restaurant is nice, bad expérience with starlight room, the service doesn't fit with the standard of the hôtel.

Located in Union Square. Heart of the shopping district in SF. Close walk to China Town, and North Beach. Could not ask for better location. Hotel was built in 20's. Don't […] bring your car. Only valet parking that is very expensive per night and takes up to 45 minutes for valet to bring your car. Although this is an old hotel with small rooms, my wife and I were quite comfortable. Our room was in excellent repair and the bed was really good. The location near Union Square in the heart of San Francisco makes it convenient to walk the city; we walked easily to Coit Tower, the Ferry Building, and the MOMA and the Moscone Center. I recently stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. The hotel staff were extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming. The lobby is luxurious and beautiful. My room was calm, clean, and filled with light. My stay was perfect!

I arrived early, way before noon. Chris at reception was very accommodating and I was able to get in a room right away. That was great since I could then go about visiting a few sites in San Francisco sooner.

I am a meeting and event planner that used the Sir Francis Drake in the past for groups but had never been there myself. I decided to change that on a recent visit over Christmas. So I booked myself, my husband and my dad two historic queen rooms. Upon arrival, without even asking, the hotel upgraded both of our rooms to king beds. Very appreciated! Our […] room was right next to the elevators...didn't hear any noise from them at all. The room was beautiful. They maintained the lovely architecture and mouldings in the room while updating everything else. The rooms were a calm, subdued purple with white crown moulding. There was enough room for a chair, ottoman, desk and flatscreen tv - plus plenty of space for us to move around in. Bathroom was small but I do recognize that hotel-goers in the 1920's weren't expecting soaker tubs and small apartment-sized spaces. I had been concerned from reading other reviews, and even from the hotel's own description of their "historic rooms" that we were about to walk into a closet. Well that was not the case! My dad's room was equally great. As a great bonus, they even have a program where each day of your stay that you do not change your linens, you get a $10 voucher for the bar. So every night we had complimentary cocktails at the bar in the lobby before leaving for dinner. What's to say about the location...absolutely perfect for anyone wanting to experience the city. Convenient for tourists (the trolley stops right outside the door) - the location is so central that we were able to walk to every venue. We were completely sold on the Sir Francis Drake and will probably make it our go-to hotel every time we come to the city. And as a meeting planner, I can now send my groups there with confidence. For the naysayers, it is an old hotel with history and aged walls...but I thinks she looks great for being 84 years old! Lisez la suite

Great view of Union Square and walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Nice size room and comfy bed but paper thin walls. My husband and I were away just to get some rest and had two small, crying children in the next room. With their bed right up against the wall to our bed, you could hear every whine and every unanswered solution the mom had […] to offer. Not the way I wanted to wake up especially at 7:00am on a getaway! We had told the front desk I was a very light sleeper and needed a quiet location so I was surprised they placed a family next to us. Beautiful hotel though with a GREAT location. Lisez la suite

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. There was no hot water to shower, there were tiny ants all around the sink in the bathroom, and the rooms are so tiny.

Very nice hotel right in the middle of the city. Historic location so rooms are small and the bed was a little hard for my taste but others may prefer that. Good amenities, helpful staff and great location.

The hotel has a great location. It also holds great charm. The rooms are a little small but fashionable updated. I would definitely stay again

I stayed during Xmas holidays and had a neighbor come home at about 130am and made noise until roughly 430am...walls paper thin and hotel security called. Drake comped night...that is only reason would not rebook in future...would ask for quietest room possible!

As part of our Christmas tradition we had taken our 8 and 6 year olds to see the Nutcracker, but thought it would be fun to spend the night in the city. The Sir Francis was a wonderful choice! It was close to all the shopping, great restuarants, and ice skating rink. We had a blast.

The hotel was great, nice design and seemed to pay a respectable homage to it's historical roots. Great location, delicious restaurant downstairs, my only complaint was the small room, but it didn't put a damper on our visit.

Desk clerk was an awesome help during our stay. It was my wife's birthday and we had planned on going to Harry Denton's for an evening of dining and dancing. Harry Denton's was booked for a christmas function and the restaurant next door was booked. He was able to get us into the restaurant and provide some complimentary certificate for the evening. […] So a potentially disasterous even became quite nice Lisez la suite

Ok firstly let me premise this review with some words of wisdom, "you get what you pay for". This hotel looks really great from the outside, and has the feel of a 5 star hotel, BUT the experience I had was far from that, firstly the valet bill (which cannot be posted) cost 1/4 of what the room was. Ok it's the city so I guess we can expect that.... […] Next the front desk only had minimal staff, it took us a good 15/20 minutes before we could even check in. The front desk clerk tried to be friendly but we could sense that the stress of being the only one on the front desk was getting to her. Then we got to the room.... It reminded me of a dorm room I once stayed in, in New York City, I loved the renovations but the room I got through this hotels.com deal was, and I hate to say this (a hole in the wall). I expected a little more class from this caliber of hotel but the the best way to describe the deal is just "eh", for the amount we payed for the room, I would probably not recommend this hotel. Staff at the hotel were friendly and efficient. Our room was nice but small; not a big problem since there is so much to do in SF that you don't stay in it for long. We loved the convenience of walking to the major department stores and numerous restaurants.

It's a party hotel. Needs restoration and some stile to it. Noisy and tiny rooms for the queen bed. Not worth the money.

A great, fun hotel in the middle of Union Square in San Francisco. Definitely recommend it!
