"A perfect place to stay in Nice"
Overall, the hotel exceeded all our expectations. The hotel was beautiful inside and out. We specifically requested a room on the upper floor with a city view to avoid any potential noise/traffic that you may hear if facing the waterfront. Our room had a large window with a gorgeous view overlooking the town with mountains in the background. The room […] was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They provided great recommendations for our side trips (Cannes, Antibes, Eze, Monte Carlo, St Paul de Vince, San Remo) with all the specifics of how to best get there and what to see and do. Alf and a staff member from Italy (forgot his name!) at the front desk were very helpful! Overall, we couldn't have asked for better accommodations and look forward to staying at Westminster when we visit Nice in the future. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Beautiful historic hotel"
Great service and nice rooms. Wonderful location but if you need quiet at night you may not appreciate the street noise in the evening. Sea view room was worth every penny, the view was spectacular.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Perfect location. Great hotel. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Great situation and lovely on the shore front. Hotel was having repairs while I was there. Check out was twelve noon but I had service try and enter my room three times between nine and ten thirty - got the message that you wanted me to leave. Personally I won't be coming back as I like smaller and more personal hotelsAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Would like to have had a full time concierge!"
Staff extremely polite and spoke English very well.....my French was terrible, but they did not laugh or be unkind. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and the service was superior. Location was perfect......right across the street from the beach. There was construction at the hotel which was unsightly but did not affect the services or the staffAvis certifié Hotels.com
Staff is great and welcomingAvis certifié Hotels.com
Perfect location! Accessible by bus 98 Congress stop. Along the Promenade beach. A little bit dated but still grand! Construction ongoing during our visit so a bit noisy! Very reliable lady Sissy, receptionist! Not happy with night male receptionists, too grim and serious, too busy talking at night! But still recommend! Not happy with breakfast buffet, […] but this is optional at 15 Euros! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
The staff were excellent, the location wonderful and great weather helped. Rooms at the side of the hotel a bit noisy from street sounds, but not a problem. Good, refurbished room with all we needed. Good selection at breakfast, although the hot food was cold which was a shame. Public areas could do with some redecoration and updating, as they looked […] a bit tired, but the stairs and hallways have clearly been done so maybe the reception and bar areas will be next. "Great Location a little shabby around the edges"
Wonderful location on the Promenade d Anglais, no one to open the door or help with luggage and not the best customer service, but not bad either, seemed hit or miss with who I talked to. The elevator is very, very slow. The room as exceedingly clean, and spacious by european standards. They also have electric rolladons (the exterior blackout curtains) […] which is great if you want to have a late morning start! There where a couple areas of the room that had barely peeling or chipped paint, it would be easy to fix and greatly improve the appearance. The bed and linens were great! "What a great choice!"
The most impressive thing about our stay at the Hotel Westminster was the discounted rate we paid, which, for a large room in a four-star hotel on the promenade, was pretty astonishing. We could hardly have improved on the location or the "feel" of the place, and each of our single rooms was pretty large. The only real criticism relates to a very leaky […] and inconvenient shower, although perhaps some attention could be paid to the condition of the lift, and to the quality of the scrambled egg! Everything was wonderful - the service, the room, the staff. We ended up walking east to pretty much everything, but overall, everything was close by and convenient.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Stayed on business trip so didn't get to enjoy much of the hotel as was out working the majority of the time.Avis certifié Expedia
"Excellent-- especially breakfast!!!"
I enjoyed my stay here very much and would recommend it to anyone. The price was too high for an ocean-view room but I was not in the room enough to care that I didn't have one. The breakfast is really wonderful, well worth the fifteen eu, and staff is extremely friendly and helpful.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Wonderful return visit"
The hotel is just as lovely as it was on my last visit two years ago. The staff could not have been kinder nor more helpful. An added bonus this time was a long chat with one of the owners who is passionate about preserving the history of the hotel. The porter was incredibly helpful in getting a taxi after the airport bus went on strike.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel close to the beach and restaurants"
Hotel position is the best for the beach and shopping. The staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself has not been updated and appears very tired. The room was ok, the bathroom though was very modern. We enjoyed our stay very muchAvis certifié Expedia
Direct sea view from our room. Airport bus stop very close (number 98 only 6 euro each way). On route of Nice Flower Parade.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay, we booked a sea view with a balcony which meant we could sit outside and enjoy the view in the sunshine. It is an old style French Hotel which would have been magnificent 50 or a hundred years ago and still retains its charm and beauty to this day. Buses pass outside the Hotel, including to and from the Airport but The Old […] Town is within walking distance as is the main Station so it is a good base to stay in order to explore the City. The drink prices may seem a bit steep but the cosy Bar is a nice place to relax after exploring Nice or a trip further up the Riviera. Peter Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Fantastic views of the promenade"
Our second stay in the Westminister, great location and really lucky to get the added advantage of having the Carnival pass straight by. The staff are really helpful and extremely pleasant. We had the Superior room with a Sea View but it is really small, but having the sound of the waves and the sun shining through window does wonders for the soul.Avis certifié Expedia
"for food and friendliness"
Excellent service, food and exceptional location. Not the the prestige but food quality and service far in excess of the hyped 'carousel' restaurant 100 yards down the prom. You won't get the hype and you won't pay the price. Choice is yours.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel close to the beach."
We stayed 9 nights, double room with a view, could not be better.Avis certifié Expedia
"Fabulous view over the Med, bit noisy with view."
Very good old style grand hotel in a great location. Some needed renovations going on but staff excellent and facilities good. We like generally older hotels with character and this one delivers well. Amazing marble staircase !!Wi-fi was a bit intermittent depending on area of hotel but at least fairly fast and free. Great dining room and also bar and […] terrace overlooking Prominade Des Anglias which as expected is busy and noisy. Fabulous view on ocean side. Our room was basic but adequate and well compensated by the view. Easy walking distance to old town, port area and train station. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Great hotel with a few improvements suggestions"
Great hotel with 1920 Belle Époque atmosphere ! Had a room on the 3rd floor with a full view of the Mediterranean see!!! You have to ask in advance when reserving the room for a high floor and a balcony!! We asked and we got it! Large room and beautiful marble bathroom! Great staff - wifi in the room free! Don't be scared of rooms in front - the windows […] once they are closed you cannot hear any noise from outside! The few areas that I have to mentioned: carpet in the room was a bit tired and dirty, the bathtub was missing a glass or curtain so there was a bit of mess after showers and breakfast was a bit steep ($20€/person) ! Otherwise a great hotel in a great location! Btw you can take bus 98 to and from the airport for much cheaper than the taxis!!! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Classic hotel on the prom"
Must have been wonderful 50 years ago but desperately needs refurbishing. Room was hot with no air conditioning due to heating on for the winter. couldn`t open windows because of traffic noise and fumes. Didn`t get much sleep as windows didn`t keep the noise out. The staff where most friendly and obliging and did their best to make us comfortable but […] the hotel needs to come into this century. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
We had a room with a balcony over looking the Mediterranean just breathtaking asks for a high floor we were on the 6th floor our room was small but to have this view made up for it. It was close to all areas Old town a small walk lots of restaurants in streets behind hotel lovely spot hated to leave Nice.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel in the center near the seaside"
Very professional staff, all queries and demands were quickly satisfied. Good breakfasts. My room was on the 5th floor with perfect sea view. Comfortable allocation of the hotel is the great plus.Avis certifié Expedia
Excellent hotel in a perfect location on the promenade and easy walking distance to main attractions. Water pressure was a little hit and miss, but nothing else to complain about. Lovely room with balcony.Avis certifié Expedia

"Westminster Is Where It's At!"
Facing the famous Promenade de Anglais, the Hotel Westminster has comfort and character comparable to the notoriously expensive and aloof Hotel Negrescro, just down the Promenade, but at a much more affordable price. Our fourth-floor room, of course, had a beach view. It was clean with the world's largest and most comfortable bed! And a large bathroom, […] much to our surprise. None of the "smallness hiding as quaitness" usually associated with European hotel rooms. The hotel's appointments smack of tradition and good taste, and the open stairwell is beautifully designed and even merits a photo. The staff were excellent and exceedingly friendly and courteous. Step out the front door, and the Promenade awaits you. Because you are facing the Promenade, you also fact the street separating you from the beach. But the room's double-paned glass panels and a metal shutter at night more than dampen the traffic noise. We're intending to return next year. Don't miss out on this wonderful hotel! "Great hotel with excellent location"
Perfect location on Promenade and very close to centre and Old Nice. A bit slow service in high peak times but no severe complaints.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We loved our room. It had been remodeled and was very modern with every convenience. Our room had a balcony with two chairs. It was perfect for enjoying the fabulous view of Nice and the Riviera. The hotel staff was wonderful. Everything went smoothly for us. Thank you, Hotel Westminster.Avis certifié Expedia
"Lovely old lady"
We stayed a night at Hotel Westminster on our journey between Provence and Italy. A beautiful old lady of Côte d'Azur. Classic feel, friendly and helpful staff, a huge room and bathroom and super comfortable bed.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Good Hotel very close to the beach"
Staff were generally very pleasant and helpful, though they could have organised Internet access for 1 week rather than asking us to re-register every day, until 4 days through the break when someone realised their mistake. They were happy with children. Breakfast is OK but you'd be better to go to another cafe - coffee was rather stewed, and the bacon […] and sausages apparently reheated many times (like the coffee). Hotel beach is not free - the cost is the same as any other beach - staff on the beach were unpleasant and discourteous - they do not like small children on the beach!! Plage RUHL about 3-400 metres to the left as one comes out of the hotel is infinitely better and loves babies in buggies + it has a swimming pool for babies! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
Good hotel for buisness trip. It looks like a boutique hotel with old architecture, so not to be recommended if you prefer modern style. Clean. The breakfast room is nice and look alike Grand Floridian hotel in Disney land - pink and white - the crew is smilling and polite. No Gym. Location very good beside la promenade des anglais and the sea. Overall […] we enjoyed our stay. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"A room with a view"
We loved Hotel Westminster! We were just steps away from the heart of Old Town. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and the Promenade. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Avis certifié Expedia
we are quite sad not to be able to give this hotel top marks for everything. it's a very nice 19c building inside & out. The position is its huge strength. the staff are courteous etc. the room is a little more spacious than many in this price bracket. BUT... The shower is lamentable, not because it is over the bath but because there is no shower curtain […] or glass screen & the shower head fixing couldn't hold the shower head where one wanted. the bedroom furniture is a bit worn & will soon begin to be tatty. the one computer for guests didn't work properly & we weren't able to book in our luggage online for the return trip (which cost us £100). we couldn't discover how to turn off the air conditioning. the tv by the way was excellent, not that we go to Nice to watch tv. We go to Nice every year & will probably return to the Westminster next year because the pros outweigh the cons, the huge pro being its wonderful position just where you want to be, but it's a pity about the shortcomings. We don't eat in, not even breakfast, because you can get a continental breakfast round the corner for 6 euros instead of the hotel's 20. Conclusion: even with these shortcomings it's a v nice hotel. hope this helps. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Location is excellent"
Didnt meet our expectations, we booked for a suit and it looks like a room , the value of money is overrated if we compare it with the room facility , the beds are horrible too small the pillows caused me a neck-ache ! I will never return back to this hotel!Avis certifié Expedia
Hotel a bit dated, although charming. Beautiful terrasse and very convenient neighbourhood. Loved he breakfast on the terrasse in the morning.Avis certifié Hotels.com

"Beautiful view of sea but loud"
The room had a beautiful view of the water but was so loud at night it was hard to sleep, not sure if better windows would help. Hotel was in great location but a little run down. Restaurant staff, bellman very nice and restaurant was nice. Not many hotel amenities. Room was about 370 a night.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Be careful because you do not get what you book"
I was very disappointed in my stay. The hotel lobby and many of the rooms are in need of being redone. The Resturant was institutional looking. It was dark and spare and no place that we wanted to eat. We also had a problem upon checking. We paid for and were charged for a junior suite at a considerably higher rate than a regular room and we were given […] a regular room. I would look elsewhere in Nice. "Does not deserve 4 star"
hotel does not deserve the amount of money I spent They only good thing is the location I do not know how come it is 4 star hotel , it does not look like 2 star hotel , yes it is clean hotel , but rating of the hotel is not according to the international standards .Avis certifié Expedia
Old style hotel with a grand staircase. Located right on the Promenade, so the location is superb. The room was spacious and had high ceilings, however the carpet could be newer. The staff was helpful and friendly.Avis certifié Expedia
The only positive thing about the hotel is the location which puts you right across the beach. BUT, if you are not going for a sea view room with even higher price, then just don't go for it at all. The service is very minimal, there was only 1 or 2 receptionist considering the quite an amount of rooms they have. Also, we were told that wifi was included […] when we first booked the hotel and first checked in, and later on realized it was not working. Confirmed with the hotel and they said its down and trying to get it fixed, which took them two days. It costs us a lot of money on roaming, and the hotel has show no intention for any compensation or sincere apology. They even limit only one account per room saying they are trying to limit the usage of the internet so their system won't crash, which is very unacceptable for a hotel nowadays especially you promoted with wifi included. All in all, unless you are going for a sea view, or else for the amount that you are paying for, you can simply book some other 4 stars or even 5 stars that's closer to the old town which is the popular area with restaurants and shopping.
