"Right on the beach - close to shopping, restaurant"
Staff were very helpful, friendly, but professional. Rooms were beautiful and spacious! I loved the electric shades which enveloped the room in darkness which is ideal for sleeping. The hotel was so central and close to all the shops, restaurants, etc. Also, it was right in front of the beach. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Fabulous experience […] and would love to return some day. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia

"Good hotel close to everything."
The hotel was a fine place to stay knowing we wanted to be in a central location. The staff was friendly and very helpful and we were right across from the beach (it's very rocky so you need water shoes). There was nothing special about the room, it was fairly small but fine for a 2 night stay. Bathroom was a nice size. Great blackout blinds, we needed […] an alarm to get us up in the morning. Overall I would recommend the hotel for the price but you'll need to spend more if you want a higher floor and a view which we did not do. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
Our group of 8 people had booked individually. Booking-in process was a bit slow. Hotel location is excellent - waterfront street. Hotel has classic decor, good facilities but my room was a bit cramped and in need of a 'facelift'. Staff were efficient. Breakfast was expensive - most of our group ate elsewhere, although there was an excellent restaurant […] to left of Hotel for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, at time of our stay, the Beach view was blocked by Ironman Competition tents right in front of hotel. Hotel had not informed any of our group that this competition would be on and running over several days, although our bookings had been made well in advance. So Rooms on waterfront side of hotel had noise from competition loudspeakers, etc. Some events ran into the evenings. Generally my stay was fairly pleasant. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
This hotel is not a 4 star hotel- there was no hot water, one towel for a "suite", no shampoo, etc. and the "private" beach cost 22 euros a day per person! I will never stay here again and if it were not located on the promenade, it would not stay in business. Horrid experience.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Excellent stay on the Cote d'Azure"
Spring for the extra euros to get a seaside vies with a balcony. It is spectacular. Check in time is 2 PM, and they pretty much enforce that in terms of giving out the keys. However we were able to complete the paperwork required about 2 hours early, leave our luggage with bellman and explore for 2 hours. You have 2 choices for breakfast if you eat […] at hotel: (1) one is "express" for 9 euros for coffee/tea and some breads, butter, and jams; and (2) the other is a buffet for 20 euros of meats, cheeses, breakfast vegetables, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and breads along with drink of choice. You can eat on patio or inside....of course I always chose outside. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
Great hotel. Convenient to everything. Bathrooms were very good. Seaside balcony was nice. Some were closed off for maintenance/repair. Good value for money. Stayed away form 20 Euro breakfast--cost is crazy high and preferred to eat down the Promenade at a cafe anyway. Room was clean.Avis certifié Hotels.com

"Good - almost great."
A lovely 4 Star hotel in a superb location. In general an excellent experience, with a few issues that stopped it being a first class experience. The under sheet on the bed was too small and did not cover so we ended up sleeping on the mattress on the first night. There were stains on the carpet and the maid didn't always turn up. However, by far the […] worst experience was one member of staff who was very rude and when serving in the outside bar area suddenly told everyone they had to take their drinks to their rooms as he was closing without any explanation. Of course, these are mostly minor quibbles and in general the hotel was a great place to stop. Would return. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia

"Friendly staff, tired hotel."
The staff was wonderful. The hotel, tired and drab. Carpet in room was very dirty. Hotel needs some renovation.Avis certifié Expedia
I was expecting a charming old hotel with modern amenities. The gentleman who greeted us upon arrival was lovely, but our room was not. The building is charming and the location is fine, however, the exterior and interior are dingy and not as well maintained as neighboring properties. Our room was dark, carpet looked dirty and room lacked any color […] and charm. The room was facing the sea with a nice view, but noisy as others have noted. The safe was too small to hold a laptop. We had to go to a room on another floor to iron our clothes which was inconvenient. The sitting rooms downstairs are dark and not as inviting as other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Bathroom needs improvement. Tub is very hard to manage for someone with even slight mobility issues. No grab bars for safety;no shower curtain;only one towel hook.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Great location. Easy walking distance to beach and shopping. Appears a little run down from former days but has really neat stairway and breakfast area. Some kind of renovation in progress.Avis certifié Expedia
"lovely relaxing weekend"
The hotel was lovely. Very clean. Pleasant staff and it is perfectly situated right in the middle of the prom. Very easy transfer from the airport. Just hop on the number 98 bus which goes right alng the promenade and get off when you see the hotel. We didn't get breakfast included in our room rate and although it was nice it was a bt steep at 20 euros […] each. We had breakfast at a cafe the second morning for 8 euros each. Overall a lovely stay and we would go the westminster again. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"disappointed - 4 stars is a lie"
The amount I paid simply was not justified for what I recieved (paid $500 a night). The hotel did not have a pool/gym/anything, and is in need of renovation - especially the carpets.Avis certifié Hotels.com
A short break away for two. We had stayed many times at the Westminster over the years but had not been back to Nice for five years. Refurbishment is not complete but the standard remains very good. The Belle Epoque dining room is a classic. The alternative hotels on the Prom are either too expensive or geriatric!Avis certifié Expedia
One glitch: asked for a double bed, instead got two singles side by side (a very european thing). The sheets and covers were king-size, not singles, but the mattresses did float apart. Ask specifically for a proper bed, or, like us, get two supermarket bags and tie the bed legs together: problem solved. Otherwise the stay was superb.Avis certifié Expedia
"Hotel is suitable for couples and family"

"Lovely hotel with wounderful sea view"
Hotel was lovely view from balcony room excellent. Room service was excellent. Rather expensive breakfast at 20 euro. Staff were very good and were very willing to help. Booked an excursion viareception who were very helpful.Avis certifié Expedia
"Great hotel on the water front"
Fantastic position and rooms recently upgraded. Good size and front rooms have fantastic view of the water and promenade. No parking came as a surprise as we were driving. The position though is perfect for all local sites.Avis certifié Expedia
"Nice hotel in good location"
Nice traditional hotel in a very good location right on the sea front and just a 10 minutes pleasant stroll from the old town. Very handy for the airport bus which has a stop just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The bedroom was contemporay in style and of a good standard. The TV offered all the BBC and ITV channels which was a bonus. The restaurant […] is closed in winter months so breakfast is taken in an area at the back of the lobby which was although pleasant enough, is quite dark and has no view of the sea at the front of the hotel. They offer an express breaskfast at 9 euros which is qood if you want a light or quick breakfast otherwise it is a buffet breakfast at 20 euros. However there are several nice cafes on the sea front close to the hotel offering breakfasts. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Think before booking sea view"
We had a sea view room. The view from our balcony was fantastic. However, only heavy sleepers would not be disturbed by the busy street traffic below that goes through the night. The doors did little block this out. Great view but tired in the morning...Avis certifié Hotels.com
On the water a short walk to the old town and the many eateries that Nice have to offer. Good size rooms that were clean and comfortable. Would stay at this hotel again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Basically, the hotel is a good place to lay your head at night. Major complaint is that the elevator was out of commission for an entire week, forcing us to climb 5 flights of stairs 2-3 times a day. There was an unpleasant odor in the dining room just off the lobby that never went away. The room was adequate but small. The location in Nice is perfect […] with beautiful view of the sea and coast and the staff was generally good. Likely would not stay there again. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

It's a real old gem with character on the outside with rooms that have been updated.. You get a real feel of the South of France of yesteryear when you stay there..Avis certifié Hotels.com
A very Good hotel that has a terrific location for Nice. For the price it was a very good deal. Room was clean, large and bright. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom. The staff is courteous and helpful. You are within walking distance to the shopping, eating, Old Town and the beach is across the street.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice-city of diversity"
Ten days of sun and relaxation. Visited middle of September 2012 and weather was unbelievable. Sunny and warm but no humidity. Perfect for beach or sightseeing. Beach leaves a little to be desired. Very rocky, hard to get in and out of the water. Forget trying to put an umbrella into the ground! That said, the rest of Nice is wonderful. Great bus system […] for getting around as well as being able to walk to most sights. Tremendous diversity of cultures with French and Italian leading the way. Sometimes forgot if we were in France or Italy. Food everywhere is delicious and reasonably priced. Monaco only 40 minutes away and well worth the trip. Simply beautiful! Will return to Nice in the future and recommend it highly to everyone Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Disappointing stay at Westminister Hotel"
I went to nice with my wife and booked the westminister hotel. The wrong room was booked for me upon arrival. I had booked a double room with one big bed and got twin beds. The staff then tried to give me a "single" small room (cheaper room if booked) instead which i refused until i got the room I booked. It was around midnight. The first night i had […] 2 nice feather pillows. second night, for some reason, housekeeping took 1 of the pillows to replace it with a 5 cm thick dreadfull pillows. Went down to reception and complained. Staff sent security to look for a pillow in a dirty store where he could locate only old and dirty pillows. He told me it wasnt his job and he is sorry he could not help. Second morning i complained at the reception and they guarntied me they would do something about it. Came back that night to find that they stuffed 2 of the same pillow kind in one pillow case and for both pillows. Went down to reception to complain. They again sent the same security person and then rudely replied that they had no pillows. II gave up afterwards but fortunetly they replaced the pillows the 4th night on their own. Mind you that i had booked another room for 2 nights at the same time for another guest that was with me. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Not Worth It"
Pretty disappointing place after reading the reviews and the price. Nothing wrong with the rooms, good size and clean. But the service was pretty bad, and they nickel and dime for everything: Fees to store bags for a few hours after check out, very expensive per person rate to use their beach. The photos make the place look very glamorous, but the restaurant, […] patio and lobby were very lifeless. But, like I said, the rooms are big and clean (also didn't have any issues with the A/C like some of the others) Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Hookers fighting outside at 4:00 am woke us up. Front desks reaction "welcome to the French Riviera". Lots of traffic noise.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Great seaside hotel"
This hotel is in a prime location on the Promenade des Anglaises. There is a large bar area in front of the hotel for drinks at night. We didnt book breakfast but the beach restaurant opposite does a 9 euro basic petit dejener and the cafe next door has a larger less expensive choice. Our room was a classic city view, it had air conditioning and ample […] room with separate bathroom and WC. The reception staff are English speaking, polite and helpful. The hotel has a private beach advertised, it would be better to advise travellers that this does have a cost of 22 euros per day each person. The package of very comfortable sun lounger, parasol and towel seems well worth it when compared to sitting on the pebble beach. Drinks are waiter service, a liitle costly but you pay for convenience. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Nice rooms but the hotel could use some upgrades"
Yes the hotel is well situated and the room is nice however the building could use some freshening up. The reception desk for example is old and dated as is the lobby. The private beach is not free to hotel guest and while there is a discount for the full package you can do better by simply bringing a hotel towel and rent a lounge chair yourself. We […] arrived at 2:00 and was told that we would have to wait 1/2 hour for our room. It was only until we pushed the issue that they offered a similar room on a different floor. If you want to iron your clothes you have to go to the ironing room on the 2nd floor. The strip on the promenade is expensive so from that respect you pay for the location. Lastly, this hotel is rated a 4 star unsure how the rating works in France so don't expect a workout room or any extras. Parking is next door at a public parking. Expect to pay 20 euro a day. "good location - not worth the price though"
Staff was not welcoming. Shower was horrible - didn't have a glass wall or shower curtain so the entire bathroom counter and floor was soaking wet after every shower. Redeeming quality was location - right on the water. Don't be fooled by the 'private beach' - all this means is that you pay 22 euros for a towel and beach chair across the street - its […] not private. Wouldn't stay there again as there are better options for the price. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Won't come back"
The overall impression is a worn down "tired" hotel. The room for 2 adults and an infant was ver small - suitable for 1 person. It took 45 minutes to receive 2 medium/small suitcases in the room. Comfort level in an IBIS hotel is better. I'll not be back.Avis certifié Expedia
"Very hot, barely functioning a/c , good location"

"Good location for walking"
The hotel could be very nice, but is a little run down.Spots on the rugs and water stains on the wall under the window. Needs some upgrading. Good linens, terrible pillows. "Avoid asking for a walk-in shower"
Don't request a walk-in shower - they only have four rooms with this option, including room 205, which must be the smallest in the hotel. We were given this on the first night (as we had requested a walk-in shower), but were able to change to another room for the remaining nights. Also be aware that you will still hear traffic news from the back of […] the hotel, even if you are on the 5th floor. Other than that, would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Good public rooms and bar. "Great hotel on Mediterranean"
This hotel was on the Promenade and we had a 5th floor sea view room. It was superb! The room was large and so was the bathroom. Everything was updated and extremely comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. We never heard anything. Opening the doors to our small balcony and seeing the Mediterranian sunrise and sunset everyday was picture perfect.
