A very memorable stay. Hotel looks awesome from the outside n hotel staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The concierge boys are great. Housekeeping staff are also responsive to our needs. Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel.

Don't request a walk-in shower - they only have four rooms with this option, including room 205, which must be the smallest in the hotel. We were given this on the first night (as we had requested a walk-in shower), but were able to change to another room for the remaining nights. Staff was very helpful with food and activity suggestions. Hotel bar is nice with a patio overlooking the water. We showed up earlier then check in and they had the room ready. Rooms were clean. Good place if you are out and about all day and need a relaxing place to come back to

We loved this hotel so much that we stayed here for 8 days. Great location, right on the promenade. Beautiful view. Yes it's loud st night with traffic, but we knew that from reading all the reviews. Earplugs help. Comfy bed and sheets. Clean, newly renovated.

The hotel location is ideal. It is definitely worth paying the supplement for a sea view room because the sunset and sunrise over the Bay of Nice are spectacular - and particularly pleasant when you are sitting on your 5th floor balcony to watch the display.

This hotel was on the Promenade and we had a 5th floor sea view room. It was superb! The room was large and so was the bathroom. Everything was updated and extremely comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. We never heard anything. Opening the doors to our small balcony and seeing the Mediterranian sunrise and sunset everyday was picture perfect. A bus […] stop was located 1/2 block from the hotel with easy access to the airport and other coastal cities. We were a 15 minute walk to the train station. The most glaring defect is the lack of a good sized lounge. Our bathroom tended to smell unless the air conditioning was on. on two mornings we awoken very early by loud noise from machinery . Really nice hotel. Service was outstanding. Nice location on the promenade and within walking distance to Old Nice. Short cab ride to and from the airport and train station. I have just one complaint. It has one of the those modern showers where you wish the glass door functioned as well for as aesthetically pleasing as it is. No matter what we did, […] the water kept creeping out and flooding the bathroom area. It was a minor inconvenience and more of an annoyance than anything else. We just sopped it up with the towels provided. It's not the first hotel that we've experienced this problem, but it always seems to happen when they upgrade to the modern styling. No curb-side porter, but very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. For the same price as an interior courtyard standard room at the Negresco (2 blocks away), I had a very nice Jr Suite with a large balcony on promenade.

This hotel was located in the best location, we paid a little more to get a sea view room, worth every penny. The room was clean, had all the mod cons you would expect and large for European standards. Can highly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting to stay in a great location.

A delightful hotel right across from the beach. The staff was outstanding and very accomadating. Our rooms were beautiful and baths were quite large. Very tasteful. If you want a shower, be sure to put that in your request or you might get just a tub. Would go there again!

We stayed for three nights in early April and had a wonderful time. The hotel was well maintained, staff was friendly, we didn't eat at the hotel, however. Prices were reasonable and room was fine. Also had free wi-fi (had to ask for login and password at reception). Would definitely recommend and go back!

Spent 4 nights at the Hotel Westminster. Our room (City View) was huge - by far one of the largest rooms I have ever had in France. Location could not have been better - right on the Promenade. I still cannot get over the state of the room they first showed us, it was dark, cramped and dreary. It did have a balcony but if I had had to stay for a night in that room I would have had to jump off it. There were even a pair of dirty socks left on the balcony, perhaps from the last victim? We asked to change rooms and they quickly agreed next room although it had no balcony and no double glazing was at least clean and modern. Why were we shown to the first room, did they really think it was good enough? The first room was a lower standard than you would find in any reasonable hostel the 2nd room was a poor 2 star level. Our hotel had tons of old world charm. It was located along the Promenade Des Anglais and our ocean view made the whole experience. The suite was huge...unfortunately, no shower only a bath with hand held shower head and the jacuzzi wasn't working. Other than that...it was wonderful! While there, there was a strike and we had to rent a car one day which could've become our ride to Paris later...but, the train we had a reserved was cancelled and we were able to catch a later train that same day. The service at this hotel was exceptional. I left my wallet in the safe by accident; they had it back to my home address within a few days, completely intact. I can't thank the Front Office manager enough for his and his staff's integrity. We highly recommend this hotel!

Right on Promenade Des Anglais. Across the street from the private beach (there's a fee) or the public beach right next to it. The hotel exceeded expectations. Despite being centrally located on the Promenade it was very quiet with the insulated windows and the roll-down volés. Parking close at hand in a garage around the corner is a luxury in Nice.

This was not what I expect from a 4 star hotel. it started when there was NO BELLMAN to help us bring out luggage in---none at all. The hotel lobby looked shabby, and so were the rooms. This hotel is in a great location--but it is in MAJOR need of a remodel. We wouldn't stay there again.

Location location location. This is what this hotel has in spades. Loved the old-world ambience of the Westminster hotel. Would highly recommend a stay here. The food was quite pricy, however, a casual stroll through the back-streets of the quaint old town will more than reward you with an abundance of restaurants.

can't cpmplain about location and the room size was big compared to rooms in france, but surly i wouldnot stay again in this hotel, i made only two calls to a friend staying in other hotel in Nice they to find that they charging me 80 euros for phone calls when i refused to pay and asked for manager they asked me to wait for the morning to file complain […] because manager was not available at evenings!!!!. room service never pick up phone. i otrderd some hot water needed for medication they charge me for it... don't go there . certainly i would not step foot there again . This was our second or third stay at this hotel. We love the location. especially being right across the street from the beach. We booked a seaview room, overlooking the Promenade des Anglais and the Mediterranean Sea. We were on the second floor, and were kept awake by traffic on the first night. We expressed our concerns to the manager, who explained […] that a a lot of the traffic had been permenently rerouted from another major thouroughfare on which they had installed a tramway. Luckily, there was a room available on a higher floor, and they graciously moved us. We think that the hotel is a great value for the location, and will likely stay there next time we're in Nice, but will either call the hotel directly to assure that we're on an upper floor, or book a "city view" room. A first class hotel by all counts. It is in a great location with great views. It is the staff that makes it truly great. We arrived from New York at 9:30AM after 14 hours of flying that started in San Francisco, and inquired if we might get a room earlier than the 2:00PM checkin time. We were in our requested room at 10:30. It was a trying weekend […] for the staff as it was the beginning of a week-long France-African Summit that had heads-of-state from three African countries, along with their entourages, in the hotel. This did not keep the staff from continuing the great service to us. Finally, we were embarking on a cruise on the opening day of the Summit and the central city was a logjam as the main Promenade d'Anglais was closed to vehicles. Taxis were avoiding the area, but the hotel manager was able to get one to commit to pick us up, and the porter stayed with us on a street corner behind the hotel until the taxi arrived. When planning a trip to Nice you'll have to expect life's a little different here compared to a little sleepy village in the Dordogne. Nice is lively, lots of traffic and people and some parts are very old. The same goes for it's hotels. We found the Westminster one of the better ones on the Promenade des Anglais. It has a real historic feel to it with […] masses of old features, though the bedrooms are quite modern with a huge bathroom (almost bigger than the sleeping area!) Yes, they may not be the biggest rooms you'll find, but it's an old hotel. Great views over the sea and beach and a nice cool breeze coming in from the sea through our large window. Traffic is quite noisy but windows are double glazed. Hotel staff was friendly but then we both speak french which, of course, helps. They were happy to switch to English if they went a bit too fast! We stayed for a few nights early June together with the President of Nigeria, who was staying with his entourage a few floors below us, during the African - French Conference. That meant the Promenade was closed to traffic for 2 days, with 1000's of police and security swarming the streets of Nice. Of course there were niggly little things in the room like the airco wasn't working, the shutters wouldn't come down, there was no shower curtain and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't come on. But the room was cleaned very well, you get a room safe and we had a great time staying there, as we could walk everywhere. Lisez la suite
