I was pleasantly surprised by this little hotel near Earl's Court. My room was clean and well-appointed, though small like most London rooms. Loved the free wireless, the heated towel rack, and mini kitchenette.There was some construction going on in the building, though I was facing the back and did not hear it.

I was surprised at the quality of the hotel room as I managed to get a very cheap deal on a sunday bank holiday weekend. I stayed in a single room and it had everything you would need either in the room or upon request. The cleanliness of the room was by far the best I had ever stayed in and the decor of both ensuite and bedroom was superb. The bed […] was comfy and had nice linen and pillows on it. Had a problem with the first iron brought up and this was changed quickly and with no hassle. I also had problems with using the internet that was available as the battery's were dead in the controller. This again was sorted out efficiently. Brilliant selection of teas and coffee offered, and love the concept of being to be self sufficient with microwave and plates ans cutlery. Base to stay is located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood of South West London. The hotel is in close walking distance to Earls Court (2 mins) and not far away from Gloucester Road tube (5 mins). It was clean, had a microwave, kettle, and mini-fridge. The bed was really comfortable and the curtains blocked out all sunlight coming into the room. I was really impressed that you could also get complimentary wifi and that you had a tv as well as a little desk to write at. The bathroom was modern and the products offered were high quality. This is an spotlessly clean and attractive hotel in Earl's Court about two easy blocks from the Underground. Rooms are really nice with modern baths, equipped kitchen, and excellent beds. Wireless Internet included in rate. Breakfast is optional, costs £7 and is catered and delivered by an outside vendor. Staff friendly and accommodating.

We've stayed at Base2Stay several times since 2007 and have always found it to be great value in a very expensive city. It is just a five-minute walk to Earl's Court Road where there are pubs, a Marks and Spencer grocery store, tube station, coffee shops, but also in a very quiet neighbourhood. Convenient location for the City, and not far from a tube stop. Free Wifi throughout the hotel. The room are functional and clean, although some could do with a bit of maintenance. On the whole it's a reliable hotel for a business trip.

it took us at least 40 minutes to get a simple check in. the reason was that we checked in too late on that day and the cleanin ladies went home already. so it is the receptionists who did the cleaning, which took longer. but thats not our problem, is it? wifi is absolutely horrible. constantly log off and we have to log on again and again. there is […] no hair conditioner or body lotion when there should be given the price we paid! we will never ever come again. if the price is half, i may consider. btw, the beds are TINY Lisez la suite

Great hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a basement room for 3 people. Had our own little courtyard. Room was very clean and had a state of the art coffee machine. Few minutes walk to earls court tube station. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a reliable hotel for the business traveller. It has free wifi throughout the hotel, and the rooms are clean enough, comfortable enough, and reasonably priced. It's not the Ritz, but it's not Fawlty Tower either. At the price it's very good value for money.

The single room I had was in excellent condition.Everything was so very clean and the bathroom was immaculate.Check-in at reception went very smooth with very friendly staff. Facilities in the room included widescreen TV,a kitchen sink{hidden from view until you open,what looks like a bedroom wardrobe},microwave oven,kettle,plates,bowls,knives,forks, […] and spoons.Bring your favorite fish pies from Tesco with you before you check-in and cook them in the microwave for your tea.This is a real home from home hotel.There is also a fridge to keep your fish pies in,as well as a room safe.There is no restaurant in the hotel, however the hotel provides an excellent breakfast room service for a small fee. There can't be many hotels in London which has such friendly staff as what I saw in base2stay Kensington.Everyone just smiles at you,and they are very warm and geniune. Even the cleaning lady greeted me with a warm smile as she stepped out off the lift,while I was on my way downstairs to check-out.{They certainly are a happy bunch who work in this hotel}.I have no hestitation in recommending this hotel for anyone.It would be very suitable for the business traveller as I had a wi-fi connection in my room.The room was warm and comfortable,and the view I had from the window looked out onto a private gated road. The location was perfect and the hotel was well organised and situated. - not sure if there was a breakfast option but it could have been helpful if there ws an on the go type of option for an extra cost. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly. We had issues with the heat in our room (we went in mid January) not coming on. Staff brought us a space heater to get us through the night. They were supposed to fix it the next day, but we had the heater set to 26 degrees C (80 degrees F) and it was still cold, so we used the space heater during […] our 5 nights there. The room itself was smaller than the pictures on the website, but in fairness, we reserved a smaller room... I just didn't know HOW small it was going to be. It was OK b/c we were just there to sleep. The location was 1 block from the Earl's Court exit of the Tube (which is on the Picadilly line... which goes straight to Heathrow airport). The staff printed out our boarding passes and called the cab for us, which was very nice. They also have discount coupons for roughly 20 local restaurants which helped us save a few quid. Overall, I'd stay there again, so long as the price was cheap enough. We paid $152 per night and thought it was reasonable, but not fantastically priced. Lisez la suite

"Base" is just that. If you want a well appointed, clean, superbly maintained room in a good, central London location and at a very reasonable price, look no further. The front desk staff are always present, helpful and courteous. The list of local restaurants which offer substantial discounts to Base residents is extensive and covers all tastes. The […] Italian restaurant we tried for dinner was excellent (and we received a 20% discount on the total bill including wine.). There are numerous, nearby restaurants which offer breakfast at reasonable prices. We used Balans (five minutes walk), the breakfast menu offered a good choice and the quality was excellent. Great location for both accessing the Underground and for walking. Room was comfortable and big enough for the extra bed (we were three friends having a weekend in London) though the third bed was pretty basic (usually the case in most hotels though). Base2Stay has a lift which is useful when moving large cases. Mini kitchen was a useful facility and the fridge just about housed our collection of wine! Staff were helpful and informative in relation to any queries we had. Accommodation was quite spacious and quiet, and provided a restful sanctuary after the hustle and bustle of the city. I have stayed in some dives over the years, looking for a place to stay in London that won't break the budget. Now I have found a place that provides high quality and great value. We were upgraded from a Standard to a King room, so my comments are based on a King. The room was excellent and very comfortable. Every facilty was included - dishes, microwave, […] coffee machine. The location is perfect - a short walk from Earls Court tube station with all the shops, pubs and restaurants you could want within walking distance. Three star hotel rates five stars for convenience, decor, service and cleanliness. The neighborhood is not what one expects when listed as Kensington...it s really Earls Court which has become extremely seedy and filled with dormitories and similar cheap hotels that attract an extremely diverse clientele. Of course, this also means a plethora of food […] shops and restaurants to service the influx. This can be advantageous considering the presence of little closet kitchenettes, especially when it is cold and rainy outside, but the rooms are extremely small...even the triples, and a single room is the size of a US walk-in closet with bed built against the wall like a bunk in a ship's cabin. That said, the space is well-designed and the staff is outstanding and tries hard to accommodate . The hotel prides itself on saving energy. This means annoying pump toilets, but great instant hot showers; and towels and beds are changed only every 3 nights which isn't a problem if you stay only 1 or 2 nights, but may be, if you are there for a week. At the end of the day, it's great for a short stay when you need accessibility,,,you can get directly from Heathrow to the hotel via tube in 40 minutes for 5.5£ which is fast and cheap in one of the word's most expensive cities, But despite the hotel's own description, this is in no way a luxury hotel. When I arrived, I went to retrieve last piece of luggage from the taxis, wet conditions and ceramic tile on entrance way I fell landing on my back. I loved this hotel. Very convenient location, a load of good restaurants close by, excellent transportation connections. Just be aware that the rooms are the typical "UK" size. My room was so small the only place to put the suitcase was under the bed - but it worked. Great water pressure and temperature control in the room.

I always stay in the Kensington area when I go to London (about once a year) and appreciate that Earls Court […] is located on the Picadilly and District tube lines.
