TRES BON SEJOUR.

"Fair Fairmont"
Well, there ain't much immediately around the hotel. If you dare to walk anywhere, beware of the hills. The breakfast should be skipped. The sub-par brunch for $30 made me want to check out of the hotel. As per normal w/hotels.com, I got an interior room with views of nothing. It's old school and old. It felt like a hotel build around conference rooms. […] Everything is a la carte, including the fitness center. You'll be pressed over and over again to join their President's Club. If you park around the hotel, beware. Tow trucks wait in the shadows and the bill will exceed $400 to get your car back. Overnight valet parking is over $60. That said, I liked the place. Wonderful od hotel. Staff Friendly. It is a landmark in the city and well worth the stay and the cost.
"the Fairmont San Francisco"
When we checked in I told them it was our anniversary and they upgraded us to a much better room! We paid less than half their usual rate!
"Lovely hotel and location"
This is a lovely hotel that is convenient to the city for those who love to walk. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed and had a terrific view of the city and garden. Would definitely stay here again!

"The Fairmont Hotel San Francisco; from Ahh to Zzzz"
Truly, I loved this overnight visit. I only had one night on a budget. And just the bathtub was worth every dollar. Comfort, cleanliness and amenities aplenty. Treat yourself well and stay here. I always prefer the main building since it did survive the 1906 SF earthquake. Chances are great it will survive again! From the Ahhhhs of soaking in the bath […] to the Zzzzz of a very comfortable night's sleep. Lisez la suite
The hotel it's self is very grand, but there was a slight case of mold in the shower. I thought overall it was keep up well for its age, I would recommend it to a friend.
"Incredibly disapointed"
The rooms are extremely tiny and poorly maintained. Carpets, furniture all look old and dirty. They upped their pet fee to $75 while it was still advertised as $25 on all major travel sites including American Express. My dog actually found a drug pill in the corner and we which could have a fatal incident had I not grabbed it before he did. I then spent […] 1hr on the floor breathing in dirt and dust looking under every nook and cranny to see if there are any more drugs. Meanwhile, the hotel manager and various management we spoke to never once offered to change our room. i would never ever stay in this hotel nor this hotel chain again. Lisez la suite
"Gorgeous historic hotel"
We had a fabulous time at the Fairmont. It is a gorgeous hotel with attentive staff. It's a brisk walk to Chinatown, Union Square, and Fisherman's Wharf, but take a cab the last couple of uphill blocks when returning to the hotel. We had a great time at Tonga, the tiki bar at the Fairmont. Can't wait to return to San Francisco-and the Fairmont!
The hotel is on the top of Knob Hill which is in walking distance to most sights. Problem is if you are walking you have to walk up hill to get back. The hotel is on two cable car routes but at $6 a pop it can get expensive. The hotel lobby is beautiful but our room actually "suite" was well worn as well as the hallway on our floor. The service was […] excellent though. I think I would stay down in SOMA next time. Lisez la suite

"The San Francisco Fairmont on Nob Hill"
Overall experience was really great and we would stay here again. Service personnel were helpful and friendly. Rooms and amenities were very clean and comfortable. Only negative was not realizing that simply removing an item from the refrigerator or the tray on top of the dresser/refrigerator would generate an automatic and immediate charge. Nothing […] was said about this when we were shown to our rooms. We knew that if you opened or used or drank any of the items, there would be charges, but not simply removing something to look at it (my grandchild thought it was super that there was such a great selection - and how nice that the hotel provided a toy and a box of chips!). A total of $110 in charges went immediately on the bill. After explanation, the hotel did reverse all charges except for the $8.00 (2 oz.) box of chips my grandchild did eat. However, we did detect a note of disdain/disbelief on the part of the hotel staffer to whom we were explaining the situation once it was known to us. Be that as it may, we are now more knowledgeable guests than before and didn't let that put a damper on our stay which, as I said, was really great. Lisez la suite
Fantastic historic hotel that didn't disappoint from the moment I checked in. Front desk was able to accommodate an early check in and even received an upgrade to a suite which had an amazing view of fisherman's wharf and alcatraz. Could not have asked for anything more or better from a hotel

"Simply Elegant"
I have been to the Fairmont several times for special events, but this time I brought my team for an overnight work/play weekend. The staff was wonderful, the rooms generous and the bed oh-so-comfy. Excellent!
"Wonderful Stay-Beautiful Views"
My Husband and I have always wanted to stay at this hotel and the wait was definetly worth our while. We had a gorgeous view of the city, alcatraz, coit tower etc. out our window which was breathtaking both day and night. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and elegant.

"Great Hotel"
The Fairmont is a classic San Francisco hotel. Service is impeccable, the rooms are not huge but more than adequate, food service is excellent and , of course, the Tonga Room.........just a fun place where the bartenders know how to pour a drink. One caveat.....don't get a room near the ever moving and somewhat noisy elevators.
"Fairmont - San Francisco- High price but beautiful"
This is a beautiful hotel that is located on the top of Nob Hill in SF. The views from my 18th floor window overlooking the city were spectacular. The sunset was gorgeous as the lights of the city came up over the rolling hills of San Francisco and truly took my breath away. The room was spacious with 2 VERY comfortable queen beds and spacious bathroom. […] All amenities were more that satisfactory. I have 2 negatives on the hotel. 1) A hotel of this caliber and price range should be offering free wifi and not charge $14/ day. 2) the shuttle service to the airport that is offered is just a general run of the mill guy with a rickety van with seat belts that did not work. We made stops at about 6 other hotels before the drive to the airport. I definitely was wishing that I took a cab instead of the shuttle. Overall, I had a marvelous stay at this beautiful hotel Lisez la suite

A grand classic hotel at the top of Nob Hill. It is a pinnacle in grandeur and a centrally located hotel that just gets better with age. Experience the history and opulence of an era gone by in one of the world's most beautiful cities.
"Where I always stay"
I live in Palo Alto and occasionally stay in San Francisco for a night with my wife. The Fairmont is my hotel of choice, just a great historic elegant hotel that understand the concept of service.
"The Fairmont San Francisco- top of Nob Hill"
We had a wonderful stay at the Fairmont. We were upgraded to a larger room with a king size bed and a phenomenal view of much of the city and the surrounding bay. The room was one of the largest hotel rooms I can ever remember staying in. From the hotel, it is just a few blocks to walk to Chinatown for dinner, and the walk is entirely downhill. There […] is a very nice and well-equipped health club as well as a convenient coffee shop on the lower level of the hotel. And of couse, the lobby of the hotel is simply gorgeous nd reminiscent of yesteryear. Lisez la suite
"Fairmont-All style, no substance"
The hotel itself is lovely, and my room was beautiful. However, service was not up to par. The bartender at the hotel bar was rude: he told me I'd be more comfortable at a table rather than at the bar, and I'd probably have to wait 45 minutes before he could serve me. Note that there were only 3 other patrons present. He then had the nerve to present […] me with my bill halfway through my meal, a behavior which is only acceptable at an airport bar. When I complained to the concierge, he told me he would have the manager of the restaurant call me. That never happened. On another occasion, the staff forgot to restock the mini-bar, and when I called to alert them, they promised that they would send up the missing items immediately. Needless to say, that never happened. I would go back to stay, as the location is great and the hotel itself is a historical gem, but would definitely lower my expectations in terms of decent service. Lisez la suite
"Horrible room"
The room was incredibly small and the heating was broken -- room was insufferable. Despite numerous calls to compain, no accomodations were made. I would not recommend this hotel and was very disappointed in staff and the stay overall!
"Fairmont San Francisco"
Staying at the Fairmont is always enjoyable. It is a grand hotel and the neighborhood is really beautiful on a clear day. Coupled with the beautiful bells of Grace Cathedral, it is magical. I must say that of all the times we have visited the Fairmont, this is the first time that we did not stay in a street side king room, due to a promotional rate […] offered. The interior queen rooms are not nearly as nice and while the exterior rooms are more expensive, it is worth the extra money to have the upgraded room. Lisez la suite
"Fairmont: More than Fairl Less than Great"
The SF Fairmont has the look of an old-world 5-star hotel but sadly several small little details keep it from being a 5-star hotel. First off: when I asked the concierge where I could mail some letters I was told there was a mailbox just outside and around the corner from the entrance. Not a huge deal, I can certainly walk & the weather was cold but […] clear but really? There is no collection box inside, even for their own mail? Second: We had reservations for The Tonga Room for dinner and we arrived a few minutes early to find a 15-20 person line in front of us, some with reservations as well, some without & yet the answer from the hostess was just stay in line & we'll get to you in turn. The last complaint was probably equally our fault, we thought it would be easy to get reservations for their Holiday Tea as a hotel guest but that fact seemed to not matter one bit to the maitre d who bluntly told us the next available table would be after Christmas, 10 days from our visit. On the plus side, the valet parking albeit expensive, was helpful to a fault, even alerting us that our destination (The Disney Family Museum) may not be the best choice for our 2yr old of we were looking for Mickey Mouse, et al. Also: keep in mind this place is BIG so be prepared to walk to your room, the lobby, dinner, etc. Lisez la suite

"The Fairmont SF has some nice views"
Very nice hotel. Was a little noisy. People talking in hallway woke me up. After that all night I heard the TV going in the room next to ours. Tonga Room is a fun little spot for a drink.
"Beautiful Hotel!"
The Fairmont is a spectacular hotel in every way! The building is gorgeous and the staff is extremely well mannered. I reluctantly paid $30 for a breakfast and could not believe it was actually worth it!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. we particularly appreciated the courtiesness of the staff.
"Fairmont, San Francisco-great hotel and location"
The hotel is very charming and the staff was very friendly and helpful. You couldn't have asked for a better location. Right in the middle of everything within walking distance. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
"Grand hotel with grand views!"
We have stayed at several hotels in the Union Square area. This is by far the best. It has a beautiful lobby where you can people watch and unwind after a day of sightseeing. We had a view of the Transamerica Building and city lights too. I really felt like i was somewhere special!
The Fairmont San Francisco is a wonderful old hotel in SF which has been well maintained and is in a great location. The rooms are quite nice, although not luxurious. The hotel is in walking distance of major attractions such as Union Square, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf. The surrounding neighborhood is quite safe.
"The Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill, San Francisco, CA"
We spent two nights at the Fairmont for my wife's birthday. The Hotel was comfortable and the staff warm and friendly. We had two of the nicest, warmest, sunniest days you could have in San Francisco in January! The only drawback is the parking which is expensive, especially when you don't need a car in the City. We both would recommend the Fairmont […] to anyone at any time! Lisez la suite

"New Years Eve Stay & Party"
I decided to go all out for this year’s New Years Eve. I booked a suite at the Fairmont Hotel in SF and got reservations for their New Years Eve Party. It was a stay I will never forget. The room was fabulous, every detail was covered. The bed was very comfortable, and there were two bathrooms. The restaurants served good food and the Tonga Room was […] a blast - they had the Best Band I'd heard in a very long time. They played all kinds of danceable music. Then there was the New Years Eve Party - WOW - doesn't begin to describe it. The evening started off in the Fountain Room with Champagne & hors d'oeuvres. Then we were escorted to the Crown Room on the 24th Floor for dinner and dancing until 1AM. The dinner consisted of a Seven course, wine pared, meal that lasted the entire evening. The food was phenomenal (except for the rolls – they were hard and not SF sourdough, a huge let down.). The view of the City, Golden Gate Bridge, Bay, Yerba Buena Island and the ultimate fireworks show from around the Bay Area was to die for. The Band at this party topped the Band from the Tonga Room and that is saying a lot. We danced all night with intercessions of eating and drinking. This was a stay to remember and a night to never forget. WOW Lisez la suite
"Fairmont San Francisco perfect location"
The Fairmont is a quality hotel and is located perfectly for using the cable cars to see the city. The Nob Hill location is a quiet and respectable neighbourhood away from the hustle of Union Square but in easy reach as the hotel is one block from the crossroads of the 2 cable car lines making Fishermans Wharf, the Ferry Building and Union Sq a short […] trip away. If you can, pay more for a signature room with a city view. At night if you prefer not to go into town you have Tonga Rooms on hand and The Top of The Mark over the road - perfect! Lisez la suite
"The Fairmont San Francisco"

"Special night out in the city"
The Fairmont lived up to our expectations as a grand old San Francisco experience and a special night out. The lobby and bars were beautiful including the Christmas decorations. The room was clean and pleasant and we enjoyed fabulous views of the city day and night. The low point was the service in the lounges (first afternoon tea and later cocktails […] ) which was slow and inattentive. Overall a good stay. Lisez la suite
"Fairmont SF View"
