Plaza Inn - Albuquerque

I felt the hotel was way overpriced for the quality of hotel. I was disappointed the hot tub was broken; I would have liked to have been notified about this by hotels.com. The locks to the sliding glass door on our ground-level room did not work (I reported this to the front desk). I had to wait to get the attention from the front desk receptionist […] (who was on his cell phone). We asked for a king-sized bed and were given a room with two queen beds. We were out of toothpaste and the front desk did not have this simple toiletry. The hotel did not feel welcoming and I was just disappointed. Lisez la suite

Very disappointed. Wanted to move hotels the moment I arrived, but had already paid . Certainly not a three star hotel by any stretch of the imagination for the following reasons: hotel is in a very bad and dirty part of town; hotel is older and rundown and in need of many, many repairs; the room itself was small, the curtains had holes throughout, […] the balcony had a view of the garbage on the ground below, the dresser was missing a door and two of the drawers stuck out and would not slide back in and because the room was so small, I had to weave my way around the protruding drawers. The desk was rickety and falling apart as well. Very, very old and outdated (non-functional) furniture. I chose this hotel because there was an indoor pool and room service; however, the pool area was closed the entire time I was there and there was no hotel book in the room, and despite asking for one, I never received one so I don't know if room service even exists. Housekeeping came in and made the bed, but did not leave any new towels or dump the garbage. There was a warning sign posted in the room that everything would be carefully inventoried upon check-out (very classy!) so I hope I'm not charged for the towels that I never received. The only redeeming quality was that the employees were friendly and polite. I would say to run, not walk, to another hotel! Lisez la suite

The staff of the hotel were very friendly. However, the hotel is badly in need of maintenance. The toilet in our room ran all night (bad valve) and the shower head was mostly clogged. The towels were badly stained, perhaps due to hard water. The bed was comfortable, fortunately, and we slept well. Dining area is small and dark. The price for this hotel is GREAT!!!!! Location awesome close to ALL the great places in Albuquerque,NM.

Not a bad hotel at all for what it is. The room was clean, the staff were helpful, if not entirely cheerful, the breakfast was decent. The surrounding neighborhood wasn't all that appealing, but it was close enough to downtown, which was where I needed to be. There was no chain lock on the door, but I didn't feel unsafe without it. Also, the tv didn't […] function that well and their internet service wouldn't let me use netflix. But, I wasn't expecting anything fancy and I only needed a place to stay for the night, so no major complaints. Lisez la suite

I had a very pleasant stay at Plaza Inn.

It was pretty funky on the outside, dark hallways, but a good location. Freeway noise on our side, maybe not on the other. Great shuttle service to Old Town. Nice breakfast~~

Just stayed for the night, but the freeway was to close and I heard all the cars all night.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Plaza Inn. The rooms were very nice and the view from the balcony made it even better. The only problem i had was finding a vending machine that would actually work. Overall, I would definately come back for another stay next time I am in Albuquerque, NM.

The hotel was once a very beautiful hotel and state of the art resort in it's day! It still is a very above average and great deal. I would highly recommend it. The staff is super friendly and the beds are comfy! You will be impressed for the value. The Reagan Library is close by and a MUST see with a free shuttle. We always stay here due to closeness of the sports when in Abq, But after this last visit the hot tub was not usable, my window would not open, and my husbands wheelchair kept getting stuck on the eneven and cracked sidewalks. I guess we need to start looking for a newer place as this one needs a ton of upgrades. even the attatched restaurant is no […] longer open, it looks like an abandoned building and the Plaza does not look as nice as the web page portrays anymore. We were traveling around the USA from Australia and were happy tostay at budget hotels, however this hotel was particularly bad! The whole hotel smelt of cigarette smoke, especially in the lift. I had to actually hold my breath in the lift it was that bad! Also the pictures are very misleading. The hotel looks like it is on a lovely hill side, but it […] actually looks over a very busy freeway! And the hotels rooms looked much nicer in the pictures also. I would stay again..

It was a comfortable room, great beds. The hallway was really musty and the pool was cold and indoors so there was a heavy chlorine smell. Their breakfast was good and great staff at the front desk

The room was too small, and two of the people who worked there were rude.

The best thing about the Hotel is the staff. They were friendly and accommodating. The decor is shabby and dated. The hallways are poorly lit and have a foul odor. If your room faces I-25 you will hear the highway. The pictures are not a true representation of the condition of the property. One positive is all the rooms have little balconies.

i was worried after i was reading the reviews, but i enjoyed my room 110. it is a smoking room with a king bed fridge and microwave. everything i wanted. it did not look like the pictures but that was ok, the hot tub out side had no water but there is also one inside and the pool was great a little cold but felt really good after a hot day. they say […] you get what you pay for well i disagree i would have paid more for what i got. i did not try the breakfast ( slept in cause i could) and the jbs was still closed. but trust me there are better places to eat in albuquerque. On the last morning of our stay, my cousin checked out before I did. When she got home she realized that a belt she had purchased for her daughter was missing from her bag. I searched the entire room and never found it. I left my name and number with the front desk clerk and spoke to a manager later the next week, as they never called me. I was then […] told she would look in to and have never heard from her again. If it was not for this one very frustrating incident, I would stay there again, but knowing that you can not trust who is coming into your room and your things to be left alone, I will not stay there again and I will tell everyone I know who travels to Albq. not to stay there. I felt because it was not a monitarily valuable item, the manager could have cared less and it shows, because I have not been contacted again! Lisez la suite

The rooms are well kept and very new / modern. The bed was very comfortable and I slept soundly, very unusual for me in hotels. The pool is large and stylish and the hot tub can hold 30 people. It is also right next to a disc golf course / Greenway.

We had reserved a King room and got a Queen room when we got there because they had overbooked. They got us the King room the next day. The evening crew, Jim and Ceasar, was great. They gave us wonderful info on sites to see, directions, and places to eat. Will definitely stay there again when in Albuquerque.

Halls were cavernous and damp smelling. Elevators were extremely warm and smelled like old cigarettes. "Continental breakfast" was barely passable.

This hotel was a great place to stay, especially for the price. It was very clean. The staff were very helpful, and gave us extra towels. It was clean. There was a smokey smell in the halls, but the rooms were fine. It was great to have a balcony. Upon check in we opened the door of our room and either the hotel had double booked the room or not cleaned it before we checked in. We had reserved a King room and they put us in a Queen without any further apology or any complimentary offers. The free breakfast was the same all three days, powdered scrambled eggs and biscuits aqnd gravy.

Desk clerk was unorganized. We were required to leave a $50.00 credit card deposit for possible damages to the room. Then when we checked out the clerk could not provide me with a receipt. Light switch inside by the door would not work and we had to go inside in the dark to search for another light that would work. A surge protector had six plugins […] in it. Lisez la suite

It was nice for the price. The age of the hotel is showing in certain places, but it was definitely clean and the people were very nice.

Granted I was staying in this hotel with my infant by myself but I felt very insecure in my room mainly because there were police sirens going off at all hours. I did like the fact that even the first floor was a story up, that did provide a stronger feeling of security, but the door was loose and it seemed like anyone could get in with force. There […] were no additional locks on the door. The furniture in the room was COVERED in an array of stains (there was a yellow chair, red couch and computer chair). The bedding was white and I refused to use it because there were red stains on it (I can only assume blood stains). I decided to use the "what I don't know won't hurt me" card and not look under the sheets. Luckily my infant and I were on our way to go camping so we slept on one of our blankets on top of the hotel's set. The mattress was super firm and very uncomfortable. In all not worth the money that I paid. Final note, the hotel staff was kind and courteous but the overall cleanliness, comfort and security of the hotel was terrible. Lisez la suite

This hotel was very convenient for us and the hotel itself was very nice, much nicer than we had expected for the price.

I booked this hotel based on the pictures and the reviews. Old run down hotel. Smelled smoky. Room was tiny...... Nothing looked like the pictures. I checked in... Walked up to my room.. Walked in... Walked out. Went across the street to a different hotel.. I don't care that I wasted money... I was not staying there. it alright if you don't mind having no view. they put us on the backside with no view which stunk. The smell was gross. would not go back to the hotel, rather sleep in my car then that place.

Clean, spacious, room. Excellent service. Centrally located. Close to public transportation. Perhaps the only problem is the lack of a restaurant at the hotel ( JB's closed) but with a daily breakfast bar included with room and several restaurant options located a short drive away we can all continue with our most famous habit, eating.

We choose this hotel because it was close to The Pavillion where we were going to see a concert. When we arrived they tried given us a double queen room when are reservation was for a deluxe king. After a few minutes they finally found a king room available but I think they left out the deluxe. It looked nothing like the pictures, there was no room […] service (even though it lists it in the description), no double shower and the hot tub only worked 1 day that we were there. This hotel also needs a good cleaning and new paint. Other than this our trip was good and we slept fine in the bed. Lisez la suite

Super convenient location. A good value for the price. If the rate were to increase, it would not be as good. But overall, the hotel is good for a few nights stay. I stayed 3 nights. Shuttle was out of order during my stay, but the room, staff, grounds and overall comfort was fine.

My room lacked basics even economy chain hotels have, like deadbolts that can be locked from the inside, do-not-disturb hangtags for the door, and a list of local amenities like cab company numbers or restaurants that deliver. The bathrooms by the pool were closed when I was there. The airport shuttle was unavailable. My room had no towel rack to dry […] bath towels on or hook to hang up a robe. The free breakfast was bread and cereal and room-temperature orange juice, no meat or eggs. The price was not high, but I did not feel that I got my money's worth. The lack of an information sheet with numbers for the local cabs, restaurants, etc., is unreasonable, since they have a working computer and printer, and someone on staff could sit down with the phone book and create this simple resource and print out a sheet for each room. I left early because of unease about security; I want a lock that I'm sure will keep my sleeping self and my stuff secure. Lisez la suite

Absolutley not what is advertised

OLD HOTEL, NEEDED SOME REPAIRS, BUT THE PEOPLE WERE VERY PLEASANT AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT.

The good: Customer Service was Great! The staff was very helpful with Info on where things were and the hotel provided a suttle service that would drop you off and pick you up when ready to return. The bad: No room service. JB's, the attached resturant was closed so that if we wanted more than the continental breakfest we had get dressed when we just […] wanted to hang out undressed in our room. The basket ball hoop was in the parking lot and blocked with cars. The ugly: There as a broken down and roting wooden picnic table in view outside and below our balcony. Lisez la suite

I had read the previous reviews, so I wasn't expecting a palace. Especially for the price. There were many positive aspects--lots of "extras"--indoor pool, fenced area for pet to go outside, complimentary popcorn in lobby, regular van service to points of interest, in-room fridge & microwave, etc. But the room really needed some upkeep, maintainence-wise. […] And the clientele that the hotel drew, were sometimes less than stellar. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accomodating, however, the hotel is very old, the walls are paper thin. The whole experience was disappointing considering this is rated a 3 star hotel. Although its a no smoking hotel, we had to switch rooms bcs there had recently been smokers in the first room. There were other guests on our floor who were […] very loud, we could only finally get sleep when we turned on the very loud fan to drown them out.
