Travelodge By The Bay - San Francisco

The rooms are good sized (we fit 2 twin size air matresses on the floor), the "free breakfast" is silly, the hotel is not walking distance away from the wharf but is still centrally located to many of the sites, the staff was pleasant and helpful, dont plan to park longer than your stay they are serious about their parking spots, no air conditioning […] but its SF so open the windows and your good, its nothing fancy but gets the job done. You get what you pay for with this hotel. It was in a good location to the wharf, however it was not the cleanest. The hotel staff was very friendly, but when we got there, they assigned us a room that was not cleaned, so they had to give us another room. The second room they gave us was on the third floor and in the back corner and seemed pretty sketchy. […] If all you are doing is sleeping in the room it probably wouldn't be bad, but with kids the room was not something I would get again. Good location if you do not have a car, basic conditions but very functional

Travelodge By The Bay is located within one mile of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. This is not a true statement. It's 15 minutes via "a bus" and/or one hour walk. Fisherman's Wharf is a few miles not one. Also no disclosure on your web site for daily parking fee of $12.00.

The hotel is in a nice location. Not downtown, but a walking/downhill distance (20min) to Fisherman's Wharf. Close walk (uphill though) to the Crookedest Street. There's a lot of breakfast places/diners around (west on Lombard). The area is quiet and safe. Rooms are clean, comfortable. Nothing fancy. Parking is paid (even if only for a couple of hours […] at night). The staff are okay, not the greatest. The included continental breakfast is nothing special (muffins, apples, juice, coffee/tea). There's a nice breakfast spot right next to the hotel though. If sightseeing, you can catch the City Sightseeing hop on/hop off bus close to here, which was convenient. Overall, I'd recommend it, just don't expect anything fancy from the hotel, it's pretty basic. Lisez la suite

This is by far not the best hotel i have ever been in but its not the worst either. The room was really large and relatively clean. The location is within walking distance to the wharf although the hills of the city can make walking an adventure. The biggest problem, is that the walls are pretty thin. If you have loud neighbors in the adjacent rooms, […] you are going to know. If you are near the street, you are going to get significant traffic noise. Also slightly unusual is our room had a window that overlooked a restaurant terrace that is on the first floor of the hotel which allows you to watch their customers eat and obviously allows them to watch you. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. If you are the type that needs only a clean room and clean bathroom when on vacation then the Travelodge is a good alternative. But if you need more than that (pool or amenities to entertain children) this is not where you want to stay. Lisez la suite

For San Francisco a budget hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Continental breakfast doesnt really match the description. Should be coffee and pastries. Hotel is located within walking distance to Fishermans wharf for the fit or close to the bus system. The room was clean, bed comfy and location was perfecr for us. We brought our bicycles and were able to park near our room & have access to the bikes. They were friendly in the office and let us keep our vehicle in the lot after check-out (at no charge) We would stay there again.

Dirty rooms, outlet in bathroom did not work and they didnt offer us a new room but, a maintenance to come look at it. Who wants to deal with that upon check in?, 1/2 hour walk from Fishermans Wharf. By far, the worst room I have ever stayed in EVER. Cool bar up the street the ONLY saving grace. (Voodoo Lounge)

An easy access motel. Not fancy, but clean. Our room was in the back and quiet, clean and comfortable.

We didn't expect luxury, nor did we get it. But this hotel was clean, quiet, spacious. The staff was very helpful, even allowing us to leave our car in their lot for the entire day after checking out (no extra charge) so that we could continue to see the sights. Fairly inexpensive with cheap parking which is at a premium in SF. Small, but clean and adequate. Staff helpful. R & G from Idaho

The accomadations were affordable, clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect with Fisherman's Wharf only a 25 minute walk, Northbeach even closer and public transportation availability a plenty. I plan to stay here next time I come to the city. The management does a great job with this facility.

for the price and location its a pretty good value,remember this is San Fransisco where everything is pricey. Location is good we walked to fishmans wharf the !st night about a 20min walk downhill,walking back is a another thing walking back up those steep hills with a full belly of primerib and budweisers is a tough go.The next day we fiquared out […] how to use the muni its a electric bus that u can get anywhere in the city for 4bucks.There is a muni bus stop 1 block west of the hotel. i think the muni #is 30.Parking in this city is a HUGE deal!Save yourself alot of dough and heartache park your car at the hotel and leave it there. The hotel is old but its kept up pretty well and it is clean.PARKING is 12bucks a night which is a bargain in this area,parking stalls are small and it looked like there couldnt be enough for everyroom i was there in april and it was no problem.The bed was comfortable and it was pretty quiet stay. Im a smoker and this place is smoker friendly ,u can step out your room and grab a smoke without someone looking at u like u commited murder. I had a great stay in San Francisco, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and this is one of the only places I've stayed that has good parking for a reasonable fee. This hotel is in a great location to catch a short cab to North Beach or Fisherman's Wharf. I have stayed here 4 times before, on both sides of this hotel, and always feel safe in […] this neighborhood. It's not the Ritz, but I dont come to the city to stay in my room all day! Sweet location and great price.

My daughter's and I stayed for one night at this motel. The room was very spacious with a high ceiling that I loved. There were three of us and we had plenty of room to move around and keep our stuff. The room was excellent for the price. The area was easy to access. We had a great time and the room was part of the fun we had because it was large and […] comfortable. Parking was easy. They provide a light continental breakfast that provided coffee and a roll to get the day started. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would recommend this easy access and comfortable place to stay. Very helpful staff. We compared notes on public transit. I asked if they had microwaves in the rooms. They do in some, but they immediately offered to put a portable one in my room later that day. Booked this place because it was cheap and had a good location. the bus line the runs to fishermans warf runs by here. walking to ghirardelli square to 15 minutes.

Location was great, 1 mile from fishermans wharf. However, we had to pay about 10% of the hotel charge for parking at the hotel. The hotel advertises a continental breakfast.... this consisted of pre packaged danishes and homemade orange juice. Very disappointed!! We read all the reviews & we decided to stay anyway. It couldn't have been more perfect. ALL staff were warm, friendly, helpful, & courteous, not at all rude like some suggested. The elevator was slower than most but that's all. Worked & rode just fine. We didn't find the wall "paper thin" rather the opposite. Our room was on Lombard St (Hwy 101) […] and we heard no noise from it or the restaurant/bar beneath our window. The hotel is perfectly located, but a little difficult to get to due to traffic on Hwy 101. One block to bus to Fisherman's Wharf (after 1st one we walked both ways), 3 easy blocks to bus to Chinatown. The only downside was paying for parking, but since it was clearly displayed online & explained again at check-in, we were okay with it. Some hotels do not charge for parking, this one does. Get over it or stay somewhere else for considerably more per night. Overall, an exceptional stay, one we will repeat, gladly staying there again. Lisez la suite

The hotel was older but was clean and close to downtown San Francisco. The cost of parking was reasonable but difficult to get in and out sometimes. The TV could be updated but we didn't spend much time watching TV.

The only thing that would of made the stay a little bit more convenient would of been a refrigerator in the room; however everything else was great!

HUGE rooms but the tiniest bathrroms ever... I got 2 rooms through hotels.com at the same time under my name but our rooms were on totally different floors. My parents room looked out onto a patio of a resteraunt. We were sooo confused because they couldve crawled out their window and eaten dinner there. It was pretty noisy, we could hear cars all night […] and the people in the hotel across the street having a party. The walk wasnt too far for two 21 year olds but the parents had trouble walking there and almost had to get a taxi back. Overall I guess it was ok for only one night...if I had to do it aain I wouldve chose differently. Lisez la suite

Great location at fishermans warf. Close to public transport into the city, and walking distance to the warf. Not the flashiest hotel, but the location more than makes up for it!

the breakfast is a complete joke... coffe, juice and vaccumpacked slimy donut....no tables and no chairs...... no refrigiator at the room.....

While making the reservation I understood that I wasn't reserving a 4 star hotel, and because of that this hotel exceeded my expectations. Throughout our stay we had two rooms (We had extended our stay for a night last minute and the room type we currently had was not available) and both were clean and quiet. The wireless internet worked fine in both […] rooms with no problems of the signal being dropped. The location is excellent, it is right near Fisherman's Wharf without the high price of being within it. Our longest walk was about 30 minutes, which it took to get us to the Alcatraz Pier. Throughout our stay we never had to use a cab to get around, the location was very convinient to many tourist attractions. We recently stayed at the Travelodge by the Bay and our experience couldn't be better. The hotel rooms were clean, the staff was very helpful, and the noise was minimal. The hotel far exceeded our expectations for it's star rating and the negative reviews of some. It's right near Fisherman's Wharf and most of the other tourist attractions (Only a 20 […] minute walk to Alcatraz Landing). Lisez la suite

Our room was dated and musty smelling. The bathroom was quite small. The bed was uncomfortable. The bedding was low grade. The fridge wasn't cold at all. The WiFi was slow. And we could hear the neighboring room give out his credit card info. I was billed more than expected as I thought the additional cost of parking was included in the bill. Carpet was filthy and bed covers would probably make you puke if you put one of those CSI blacklights on it. There was pubic hair in the shower. The custodian of the motel was very nice and tried really hard to clean everything for us. If you have kids or babies dont stay here. And if you want to stay somewhere clean don stay here either.
