The newer units are much better than the older units. Food and service were excellent. We are making this place a standard on our trips from now on. We go 4 times a year to Mexico. We did the superior inclusive package.

I have reviewed this hotel before and am pleased with the upgrades that touch all aspects of the positive expierences of this class of hotel. The room upgrades include decor, large new televisions, quality of in room sundries and finally the beds...comfortable... no more hard matress' and quality bed linens. The Restaurant has greatly improved including […] new menu, food presentation and good service (remember to slow yourself down). Even with the upgrades the restaurant still remains a surprising value for an on site meal... breakfast, lunch or dinner. Room service is available for a nominal fee. I feel Costa Sur has been responsive to guest comments and has been very proactive in meeting those needs with out losing the charm of being in Mexico. Now the things that can't change...Costa Sur's location in still phenominal...you can't get any closer to the ocean any where in P.V. and going to sleep with the sound of the ocean in your ear is priceless...you definately can pay more but you will never get this. I'll reiterate...if you want luxury pay Sheraton and if you want loud thumping night life that's down town and that is just a short bus ride away...then come back and have the best rest ever...This hotel just keeps getting better. If you like to stay up all night listening to somebody else's wedding music, this is your place. This happened twice during our five nights stay. Or make sure that your room is high up and as far as possible from the restaurant/pool area. Ear plugs won't work. Too bad because there are a few things that we liked about this hotel.

I love the staff at hotel Costa Sur. We have been going to PV for 10 years and always stay with our family at Costa Sur. The hotel is working on some great upgrades which were needed. New beds (Very Comfortable) new Flat Screen TV's etc. But without the great staff it would just be another hotel. Hotel has a great view! It's definitely a budget hotel and in need of some renovations though. Great place if you just need a place to sleep. Elevator is ridiculously small, so caused a long wait time (stayed on 11th floor) Be aware that all rooms are smoking rooms although Expedia allows a non-smoking room to be purchased. Our room would start to smell […] like cigarette smoke when we had the air conditioner on (the person staying next door smoked, so not sure if that was the only reason why, but disgusting either way). I rated "comfort" at 3 only because of the noise factor from the street. Otherwise, despite the advancing age of the building and the smallness of the elevators, everything was perfect. What we enjoy most about this hotel is the "aquarium" in front of the hotel formed by the breakwater there. My friend and I went to Costa Sur during our springbreak. Our room was great. The bed was so comfy we didn't want to leave and our balcony view was so beautiful. The resort was very chill. Both pools should have been warmed so that we were limited to one pool. The beach was tooooo rocky to enjoy. The variety of food was limited. However, the view from the balcony was breath taking. The showers were nice and hot in a granite shower stall.

The hotel is pretty nice. For the most part all of the staff was not friendly and seemed to have an attitude. The rooms are nice and spacious with a nice view but house cleaning does not wash your dishes and there are not sponges, so come prepared. If you want luxury pay Sheraton, if you want thumping loud night life stay downtown, but this place was truely a home away from home. It was too bad this hotel doesn't clarify it's location on the internet. Internet maps had me right downtown PV in one search and out in the Bay for another. We were expecting to be downtown but ended up a 15 minute bus ride away, towards Mismaloya. Not at all convienant for the downtown partying we wanted to do for new Years. The room was VERY musty […] and in poor repair. The fridge was left unplugged and never did work once plugged. The stove finally got working with my husband's maintenance skills. The shower flooded the entire bathroom within minutes of first use. The bedspread was so musty and disgusting that we opted to use the bathroom towels as blankets. The room size was nice and large. The view was very nice and of the ocean as promised. I did enjoy watching dolphins play as I got ready for the day. However, the access to the ocean was very poor, unsafe if you have short legs, and the beach, if you could call it that, was very rocky and small. So bad were the ocean areas and pool areas that we opted not to swim. Overall, a very poor deal for the higher price we paid. I was quite disappointed and even more so when my comments to front desk staff seemed to fall on deaf ears and I'm sure my few comments on the card I completed fell into the garbage after my back was turned. If you are looking for a hotel away from the tourist hotels then this is for you. Hotel is a ten minute bus ride or $7 US taxi to downtown and the restaurants. I had an awesome stay at Costa del Sur. I chose that location because there was a wedding of friends nearby. Nice hotel, clean rooms, etc. But what was OUTSTANDING was the friendlyness of the staff. This was especially evident when they helped me finding my cell phone that I forgot in a cab.

la vista impresionante, la comida riquisima , los cuartos en condiciones limpias pero un poco ya viejitas por lo que siente que lo unico que les falta es remodelar las instalaciones, al menos de mi torre, porque el hotel tiene dos torres. definitivamente lo recomendaria, el trato muy amable y no tuve ningun problema con la reservacion.
