Well-lit, and I liked the open layout of the building grounds where all the rooms were easily within view from the parking lot, especially since we arrived late at night. Convenient, clean, safe and really inexpensive for a good notel room. Will definitely stay there again next time we're in the area.

I was very satisfied. It was quiet and peaceful. Many places to eat. Room had refridgerator, microwave, and internet. Breakfast was very nice. May spend my 4 day Veteran's Day holiday here. This was one of the better motels I have stayed at.

The hotel was old but clean. It was quiet and I didn't hear any road noise. The manager was very attentive and eager to accommodate any request. When I was checking out, the house cleaning person offered to help me carry my bags from the room to my car.

I made a reservation for two rooms at this hotel through hotels.com. After checking in with an older guy whose tag said he was the manager I discovered that he had only given me the key to one room, so I went back and told him I had reserved two rooms. This caused a 10 minute highly unpleasant conversation with him telling me I had made two reservations […] and should have told him when checking in. I found his whole attitude very weird and customer unfriendly; it was no issue for me at all and I just wanted the key to the second room and he starts a whole argument about this. On top of this he started discussing the whole matter when I went out with one of his associates. We furthermore had a group of very noisy people staying at this hotel, who were running in the hallway and yelling and screaming late at night; a couple of these people unfortunately stayed in the room next to mine so they kept me awake. Stayed there for 1 night in Jan 2012. It was good value for money.

We have stayed multiple times, over multiple years at this chain motel. We were very disappointed this time. The chest of drawers was falling apart, the refrigerator was not plugged in, there was a missing light bulb, and there was a slightly strange odor to the room. Sheets were clean, but there was a spider body in the light fixture in my bathroom. It remained there the whole time I was there (2 nights). The parking lot was plowed after the snow storm, someone failed to shovel a pathway to the hotel.

The price, the room, the desk manager was all fine. On a busy road but did not hear anything at night Nice morning breakfast.

the weekend we stayed the noise and music was unreal. there was screaming, fighting, music blarring, people vomiting, there must have been at least 3 complaints because the music was turned down. but within a few minutes it started up again. when I went down to the main office to speak with the nite person (2:30 am) the office was locked up. no one […] answered the bell or my calls. when I spoke to the day clerk he said that there were three wedding that weekend. When I asked about the nite clerk he stated they go home at 2 am and someone comes in a 6 am. (What if something happends between 2 and 6 am? example toilet cloggs or pipe bursts? I guess you woud have to wait until 6 am!!!!! I also asked why he didn't put all wedding guest together in one wing. he had no response except sorry for my inconvience. Doubt I will be back... It was close and convenient to Tanglewood and Lenox. It was a bit outdated but clean and we enjoyed a large room. The hotel had a nice breakfast. I would have enjoyed having some yogurt and perhaps a hard boiled egg for breakfast neither of which was available.

I stayed one night at this Howard Johnson in Lenox. The room smelled, the location was remote so I had nowhere to go out. In the morning, I asked concierge for help for a car service into town. He just handed me a phone book. I was highly dissaponted all around

the building was old! The room was full of amenities (refrig., iron/board, hair dryer, coffee pot, lugg. rack, and toiletries) Breakfast was varied and ample even late in the am. Reception was cordial, friendly and helpful. A great location for going to Tanglewood.

I didn't have high hopes for a clean room having stayed in this area before but my room was clean and spacious. Compared to other similarly rated hotels in the area, I thought this was a pleasant surprise.

Tired motel, booked queen beds, but rec'd double beds. I was told they were double queen by staff. ???

Postive things first: WIFI available at no charge and personnel at front desk very friendly. However, room was very out dated with worn bedding, carpet and bathroom fixtures. Clean motel with refrigerator and microwave in the room. Not the Ritz, but it doesn't claim to be. Good value for the price.

We were visiting the Shrine of Divine Mercy and wanted to have a good night sleep from a long drive coming from Toronto, Canada.

The continental breakfast was poor. The bathroom door was crowded by the bed. Everything was very old and worn out. It was not worth the money that was charged.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and conveniently located within easy driving distance of the places and activities we wanted to see and do. Staff was very helpful with driving directions. Only complaint was the lack of any protein being served at the complimentary continental breakfast.

The hotel was fine, clean and quiet. It was close to Tanglewood,(about 10 minutes away) which is what we wanted. The price was good and we got our money's worth. We didn't have breakfast there, as we went into Lenox for a bigger choice of food.

Some of the other reviews were scary, but I hadn't noticed them when I did the booking. They mentioned terrible hygiene conditions, including bed bugs, dirty sheets, etc. I was glad to find a pleasant and relatively clean room with no moving creatures that I could notice. Still, this is a two star hotel and not much more. The bed was so soft my wife […] and I shared unplanned intimate moments by falling into each other in the bed's center, it was kind of like sleeping in a hammock. The room, although nicely renovated and clean-looking, had a not very pleasant smell on the carpets, reminding me of cat's discharges or perhaps someone spilled something there, whatever it was I did not enjoy that, to the point that I left the AC running 24 hours in the hope of getting rid of it. Last, less critical but worth mentioning, we could hear each and every step from the room above us, like on one of those antique European hotels... apparently the building is quite old and the floors not well reinforced. A bit grumpy- needs to bone up on how to treat customers

After checking into the hotel, we went to our rooms, they were filthy, hair on sheets, urine on bedspread and matress pad. The rooms smelled like mold. When we went to the front desk they offered us a can of Fabreeze! We did not stay, we went across the street and got rooms. The manager said he would not give us a refund. I knew that the Hotel had only 1-2 star rating, but the price seemed very good. When we got to our room, it smelled of moth balls. We left the window open to hopefully get rid of the smell. Later that day I needed to return the remote for the TV because it did not work. It did not even match the TV brand. The toilet also clogged up and they offered […] to plunge it for us. Because the smell of moth balls was still there, we asked for another room. We received a smaller room down the hall. The bed rocked as either my husband or I got out of it and it was much smaller than our first room. I found the staff unfriendly. Lisez la suite

Overall we were let down. The only positive was the staff. Desk very nice and housekeeing were cool.

My trip to the Berkshires was not for pleasure and was last minute. Going in based on previous reviews I did not expect much.
