Très bel hôtel et personnel agréable. La chambre était grande, moderne et très bien aménagée (bon, il faut aimer le style rayures noires et blanches !). L'hôtel est situé légèrement en retrait de Kings Cross permettant ainsi de profiter pleinement de la vie nocturne du quartier tout en bénéficiant du calme de l'emplacement de l'hôtel.

Hotel très bien situé dans le coeur de sydney à proximité de George street, de chinatown et de Darling Harbour. La chambre était bien équipée mais les placards étaient un peu branlant et la poele un peu trop ancienne (elle a déclanché l'alarme incendies car elle fumait trop et malgré la ventilation !). Mis à part ce désagrément nous avons passé un excellent séjour !

Nous avons aimé le fait d'être accueillit comme tout le monde car nous étions deux jeunes avec des gros sac a dos de Backpacker, on ne présentait pas super bien par rapport au standing de l'hotel mais ils n'ont fait aucune différence et ça c'était très appréciable sinon l'hotel est très bien dans son ensemble, rien a redire.

Ensemble très satisfaisant, juste à côté de la gare central, aucun bruit de train, personnel agréable dans l'ensemble, très bien reçu de lio, cécile et un maori je pense au concièrge, super rien à dire et de plus ils parlent français....

Kings Cross propose un ensemble éclectique de magasins, bars, cafés, hôtels économiques et lieux de divertissements pour adultes. Concentré autour des rues Darlinghurst Road et Macleay Street, ce quartier est doté d'une vie nocturne non censurée. Je recommande cet hotel. Très bien placé, on peut rejoindre l'opéra de Sydney en 10mn à pied. La station de métro est aussi très proche (pratique en le soir pour rentrer après une journée de marche). Il y a un très bon resto Thaï juste en bas et des cafés très sympas pour prendre le petit dej. Personnel sympa et serviable. La situation pres du metro King Cross permet de se deplacer facilement sur Sidney et sur Bondi Beach. Tarif inferieur au centre ville.

Bien situé dans Sydney, à Elisabeth Bay, facile de circuler en bus ou métro depuis King Cross. MAIS pas de piscine comme annoncé car en rénovation et pas de salle de sport dans l'hotel (à 10 minutes à pieds) lorsdenotre venue. Réservation d'1 chambre pour 4 (2 ad et 2 enf), on s'est retrouvé avec 1 chambre pour 2 dans lequel a été rajouté 1 autre gd […] lit, nous étions 1 peu à l'étroit. "Macleay Serviced Apartments - SYDNEY"
Nous sommes restés 5 nuits dans cet appartement, le ménage a été effectué chaque jour mais de manière superficielle : moutons de poussières sous le lit, poussière sur les tables de chevets, en revanche les serviettes étaient changées chaque jour. Les ustensiles de cuisine étaient très réduits : 2 fourchettes, 2 couteaux, deux cuillères, insuffisants […] pour une location d'appartement. Pour préparer les repas nous devions sortir la plaque de cuisson électrique du placard : la kitchenette était tellement réduite que nous n'avions pas la place de placer cette plaque de cuisson sur l'espace de travail mais sur une chaise... L'espace de la chambre et de la salle de bain était en revanche assez grand. L'accueil à la réception était cordial mais sans plus. A notre arrivée à 10h, notre appartement n'étant pas prêt, on nous a proposé de prendre une douche pour nous rafraichir. Le quartier n'était pas très calme : notre appartement donnait sur la rue assez passante et à 5 minutes du quartier King Cross mal fréquenté le soir : pub, bar à filles. Arrivés exténués après 22h de vol, et malgré que nous nous soyons présentés à 7h30 à la réception (au lieu de 14h, on nous a immédiatement donné notre chambre. Puis conseils sympas de la réception pour nos premères découvertes de Sydney
The shower area is far too small. There is a narrow gap, between the vanity & the shower entrance, that requires you must be very careful on entering & exiting the shower. If you are not careful, chances are, that you will hit your hip against the edge of the vanity, causing injury. The location of the toilet roll holder restricts the amount of room,when […] sitting on the toilet & in fact is quite uncomfortable. The external noise at night, of the hoons in the street, is the biggest reason that would not get me back there. The hotel rooms were extremely small and it says two becs but one is a really small bed so if you roll over you could end up on the floor. The rooms are really cramped and hard to move around. You are in a good location were there is a lot of night life around.

The best commentary I can give for the Macleay Hotel is to have realistic expectations. If you're looking for a super luxury 5 star hotel with all of the amenities, you will be disappointed. That being said, the hotel is clean, very secure, and located in the nicer half of the Potts Point/Kings Cross Neighborhood. The facility is well air conditioned, […] decent beds (if not a little short for my 6+ foot frame) and is well maintained. The hotel doubles as serviced apartments, so expect to find all manner of dishware, cooking utensils, a refrigerator, mobile stove top, and sink. I'd best describe the room with queen size bed as cozy, and a decent little place to spend the night. It's along the lower end of the price spectrum for Sydney, but expect to pay more than you're used to if your an American, save New York or Miami. The staff was friendly and courteous, and was willing to assist me in finding a place to eat for me and my girlfriend. Expect to pay a fee to use the wireless internet, although that's pretty much par for the course in Sydney. There is a supermarket located across the street, convenient if you have shopping needs. The Potts Point/Kings Cross area is known for being a part of town that caters to an active nightlife, and includes businesses that you wouldn't necessarily want your kids exposed to, keep that in mind for those traveling with children. The neighborhood felt fairly safe overall however, I didn't have much concern for my welfare there. The building itself has excellent security, with access to the building floors limited to elevator requiring a keycard, and your particular card only gets you access to your floor. So I felt rather safe leaving my belongings in the hotel while out on the town. Overall impression was a clean, value-based place to spend the night, with few luxuries but all the important amenities, and close to a fun, active part of town. Would recommend! Lisez la suite

Very nice hotel,except the bath room was very dirty.Grim and dirt on the floor.It looks like a third world bathroom. The day shift staff were very friendly and very help fool. Except one night ,a late shift staff was very unfriendly and rude. Overall it was a good hotel. I would recommend it
"Macleay - Sydney - good option - not for business"
I really liked this hotel. The room had an excellent view and we had everything closed inlcuding a supermarket and 2 liquor houses. Not good for business as they do not have the entire structure, but excellent for vaccations. Also, they have a parking garage for good value, as in Syd is very expensive. Several restaurants in the neighborhood.

Because it was around New Year's night, it was very expensive. However, there are nearby shopping center, 10-minute walk to the station may be able to stay at very reasonable prices, if the off-season.

Room was very small for a family of four, but everything was in walking distance, and you could see the Harbour bridge and Operahouse from our window! Excellent way to welcome in the new year

I booked a room with a view and i got a room with a great view of Sydney harbour. Rooms were good enough, even though we spent most of the time out and about. Very handy location to trains, buses and taxis. Would stay again.

Hotel had a great view of the Opera House and Bridge. Room was clean and had all amenities needed. Strongly suggest you don't use shuttle service advertised in the lobby. The hotel should not advertise this service. The shuttle failed to pick me up without telling the hotel. "Nov 20th stay"
Although we only stayed overnight, the location was very close to all the action, the harbour, tour buses, shopping etc. The room was great, our room had an extra large balcony where we were able to sit and eat our meal which we were able to pick up from across the street.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, quiet neighbourhood, but quite a long walk to Sydney harbour.
Nice place in a nice area; and a fabulous view from the top floor of the harbour with the bridge and the opera house. Friendly staff. Can get an airport shuttle right to the door which is almost the same price as the train. Supermarket opposite so can self cater.

This apartment/hotel worked out perfectly for our needs. The shuttle takes you straight to town, it is a nice walk to the beach, we enjoyed the BBQ grill area each evening, we enjoyed the walk in movie theater next door, the pools were lovely and the apartment itself was very accomodating.

I had 2 main disappointments – the “city view” room is actually looked at a close wall, and the “kitchen” in the “apartment” was a plug in electric stove (with very limited room in the kitchen area). Also the air-conditioning was so old that you could not actually control anything on it, but I could open the window. The bed was a opened from a wall […] cabinet leaving little space in the room. "Great Location, Helpful Staff"
Macleay ended up being a well located budget hotel in a good neighborhood. Woolworth's right across the street and a 5-7 minute walk from most of the shops, restaurants and nightlife in Kings Cross. Staff was very helpful in looking into restaurants that served kangaroo (hey, we were curious tourists!) and helped retrieve a lost item after we checked […] out. I stayed here for about ten days and found it a conveniently located (bus at door; train to city a ten minute walk) and well-run place at the quieter end of Macleay St (Kings cross can be noisy at weekends). It has a very small kitchenette which is somewhat cramped if you want to do anything but the simplest food preparation. The rooms are well-maintained […] and simply but nicely enough furnished. ""NOT WORTH IT""
We were given a very old and tired room, maybe because we booked it through the internet. Anyway I will never stay there again the price that we were charged for a small studio and the condition that this one was in was Disgraceful, the cupboards were falling to bits, and when we tried to make breakfast, well firstly we had to devise a plan as to where […] to place the hotplates (short cord) we had to put the bread board across the sink, other options would have been next to the T.V. or any other plugs around the room. Hotel needs some updating. Staff very helpfull. Basic amenities were provided. Views from upper rooms were fantastic. We had awesome views of the Opera house,Sydney Tower,and the Harbor bridge. Woolworths grocery store just across the street. Kings Cross rail station within walking distance.

God beliggendhed, tæt på gode restauranter, og mange seværdigheder i Sydney. Gode offentlige transportmuligheder.

Hittade inget mer centralt i vår prisklass så det fick bli detta hotell. Stannade 5 nätter men det passar nog bättre om man bara ska stanna en natt eller två. Poolen var inget att tala om, dyrt med internet på rummet och inget trevligt läge att bo i Kings Cross, särskilt kvällstid då det var lite skumma typer runt omkring.

"wonderful view over sydney"
We got a room towards the street, with view over the city center. The view was wonderful both at night and by day time. The room was well equiped for breakfast and possibly more if one wishes. Very good location in a nice distict with many small shops. A supermarket right across the street open til midnight. Although I was there with my two teenager […] daughters, we didn't get any problem with the liveliness of the area at night... except for an enormous loud traffic jam on Sunday night at 1:30.
