"Panorama = bof, but very comfortable hotel"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 18 avr. 2012

"Hotel Rodeway Inn Philadelphie"

Overall the room was fine. The in-room coffee maker didn't work and we couldn't adjust the room temperature, but that were our only dissatisfactions. We would stay there again.
"Clean, Functional, Great Location"
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as we attended a wedding in Philadelphia. The location is great (plenty of shops, bars, entertainment and restaurants nearby), the hotel is clean, and the bathroom was clearly remodeled. A few things other guests should know: the hotel is very small, seven floors with about 6 or 7 rooms on each floor. It is functional, […] but there are no perks (other than K-cup coffee machines in the room!). The elevator is ancient (one of those where you have to open the two doors to get into it on the first floor manually). It's tiny and can only fit two people with their luggage. If you're claustrophobic and not ready to get over that fear quickly, you'll need to take the stairs. Additionally, there is NO individual climate control in the rooms. And the windows don't open (at least in our room). The hotel has central air and we got pretty hot at night. We called the front desk to ask if they would turn the air down, but we didn't really notice a difference. Having said all that, I would definitely stay here again, but if you are in a position to afford something with a few more amenities, I'd go with that. Lisez la suite
"Decent room, untidy hallways."
The construction and untidy hallways were detracted from our stay. The room was very clean, but also very hot and made it uncomfortable to sleep.
"Nice but noisy"
Renonvations in progress and thin walls made this a noisy hotel. Like the location and cleanliness of the room. Carpet does need to be replaced. Very nice bathroom amenities.
"Noisy"
Only complaint was it was very noisy with construction going on and noise from other rooms - needs sound insulation.

"Great, convenient, friendly stafff"
I don't know why anybody would really complain about this place. The staff at the front desk were some of the nicest hotel employees i've ever met. The location is great, and yes, the rooms are small, but for the location and price, you really are getting a good deal. It's a great place to be at if you need a bed for the night and don't have ridiculous […] expectations. Lisez la suite
"Rodeway Inn Philadelphia"
Average Hotel, well located.
"perfect for basics"
Roadway is a perfect place for those who do not need amenities. Very comfortable bed, clean sheets, small but adaquate shower, flat screen tv, coffee maker, iorn, safe, free wireless access (though very slow). No control over temperature (no a/c) in the room could be a problem in the summer. I happened to be in town when the weather was perfect.
"Stay somewhere else"
The location is very good, but the feel, quality and staff are all terrible. There are other hotels around, like the Alexander, that are much better for the money. They claim to be remodeling, but even that is miserable in quality. And the general manager is impolite. He would not even sit and look me in the eye to discuss issues I had with the hotel […] with him. The rest of the staff is quite nice, but have no authority to fix anything for you. Do not stay here. "Dug it"
Nothing too fancy, but the bed was clean, the bathroom was tidy, and the location was excellent. I definitely saved money by not staying at a conference hotel. Check it out, especially if you've got something at the PA Convention Center or other places in or near Center City.
"Interesting Stay"
My stay at Rodeway Inn was interesting to stay the least. I would recommend the hotel if you don't plan on staying in your room or if you're on a budget. Positive: -Very nice front desk workers -Loved the shower -Appropriate amount of cable choice Negative: -The elevator is outdated, small, and scary (you had to slam the front of the elevator and […] wait patiently while the elevator creep to your floor). -The stairs are narrow and also scary (they were steep and felt tilted). -They only offer coffee and orange juice for breakfast. -They are in the process of construction so you might here some hardware sounds and people zipping up and down the plastic coverings. -There were blue lights around the television I couldn't figure out how to turn off -You had to stand in a certain position to work the remote control (guest in other rooms also confirmed this) -They have motion sensory lights. So while I was preparing for my presentation I would periodically wave my arms to keep the lights on or while I was sleeping I had to wait until the lights dim for darkness. Lisez la suite
"Don't Do It"
The employees are kind and the hotel is in a great location. However, the hotel is pretty old and the rooms were less than ideal. For whatever reason the room temp can not be controlled in the individual rooms. The heat was unbearable (To the point where I was sweating) and I complained 4 times during the span of 6 hours. If I had a car I would have […] slept their instead. However, I guess this is one of those situations where you get what you pay for! Lisez la suite
"NO breakfast"
althought indicated, do not expect to have breakfast. any kind of breakfast. only a coffee machine nothing else, as you have in your room. and if you suffer of claustrophobia, be prepared! a small window is all you can have. but for the rest it was a really clean and confortable hotel! only the elevator was a little bit...old
Very small elevator. Tiny and narrow halls. Only coffee & oj not a continential breakfast as advertised. Flat screen mounted on a odd wall for viewing from your bed. Hot water was luke warm so not so pleasant showers. Staff was nice & it was quiet. So as they say u get what u pay for.
"Great hotel, Convenient Location"
I was a little wary of this place after seeing how inexpensive it was for the location and seeing a couple mediocre reviews, but was looking for a reasonably priced place in Center City. However, the place was great! The room was very comfortable and clean. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room as well as a flat-screen tv. The bed was SO […] comfortable, too. The hotel was small - only 7 or 8 rooms on a floor - and very quiet. There were no slamming doors or noises in the hallway, even though the hotel was completely booked. The lobby was small but clean and well maintained with a fireplace and a computer with quick internet for guest use. There was also free wi-fi throughout the hotel. There is parking directly across the street in a parking garage, and the hotel validates parking so you pay half price. There aren't any in-and-out privileges, but you can walk everywhere or take public transit if you want. I would definitely stay here again. Lisez la suite

"Great Place Great Price"
I need a room last min due to business and this place fit the bill. Very nice and the staff was excellent and friendly. More of a Euro style hotel but the room was nicely furnished. A great deal
"Not Good!"
The hotel is located in the heart of City Center, but the building is in need of major renovation! The single elevator is out-dated and difficult to operate. There was not heating control in individual rooms. The bathroom was horrible. The toilet "ran" consistently, and the sink was in the corner, but not approachable, given the layout! The "complimentary […] breakfast" was a joke--very limited, and no one was there to assist with simple requests! (This hotel should be renovated, or shut down!) Lisez la suite
"Rodeway Inn. Philadelphia"
Good location. Room was small. Parking was convenient. I would go there again.
"They trust too much on location!!!"
Just because it's in a great location doesn't mean you can cut corners on maintenance . Had to walk up 5 floors just to walk right back because the key did not work. The one elevator was broken. It was the worst shower ever, the handle on the shower's also broken, could not get the water stay at the same temperature, bursts of cold water, then bursts […] of extremely hot water. Never again. "Short walk to convention center"
Older hotel tucked between storefronts. Small lobby with gas fireplace. Phone booth sized elevator. Extremely narrow halls and stairs, one person may pass at a time. Undergoing renovations. Did not try the included continental breakfast. 5th floor room was clean, very small, facing the street. Bathroom sanitary. Wireless internet. All night a zamboni […] thing was cleaning the multi-level parking garage across the street, plus street noise and conversations. Served its purpose: no frills, affordable, convenient walking access to convention center for a conference. Would stay here again. Lisez la suite
The personnel were fine and helpful. The room was alright, but there didn't seem to be any way to control the temperature of the room. The bathroom was very ill configured with the towel rack hanging right in front of the mirror and toliet paper holder by the door instead of nearer the stool. The breakfast area could have been better stocked -- ie short […] of cups for coffee and short on milk.. The elevator could certainly be updated because you have to guess when it has reached the bottom floor and you have to pull open two doors manually to get out. Lisez la suite
"Rodeway Inn, Philadelphia"
Hotel staff at the main desk were very nice. The room was clean. The bathroom was TINY, with no towel rack. It would not be the first hotel I would recommend in Philadelphia, but it isn't awful.
"Positive experience"
The best features about this small hotel are the location and rate. The staff was helpful and available when needed. I read many complaints, but still decided to stay here... and it was the right decision.

"Clean, Comfortable, but weird"
People looked like they were Hiding out. No one looks you in the eye. Breakfast, bare bones. But, room clean and comfortable. We stayed because of medical reasons - having surgery in near by hospital. Location convenient to hospital and many good restaurants. Rates reasonable, and would definitely stay there again if needed. Don't think we'd go there […] for a "vacation" though. I'd rather pay more and get more when staying for pleasure. Lisez la suite
I arrived early not expecting to get a room, but left my luggage. The 2 individuals with whom I interacted in this regard were uncommonly unpleasant over a routine discussion. Others were nicer. I would skip this place going forward.
"Rodeway Inn - Philadelphia"
Hotel was in a great location. Right on Walnut St, you are just blocks away from good food and venues. The bed was comfortable and the TV was nice. That's about the only positives I have with the room. My last night, I woke up to my bathroom floor being completely soaked. Water was dripping down through the air vent. The place needs some work. Elevator […] was very interesting. I ended up just walking the stairs instead of dealing with it. Breakfast is very basic. Cereal, Waffle machine, an assortment of mini-muffins and bread. Orange juice, Apple juice and a coffee maker. The staff was very helpful and professional. Parking is across the road in a parking garage. 12th & Walnut Garage. Lisez la suite
"Great Stay, Rough NIGHT......"
LOCATION: Hotel had a great location in the heart of the city. Nice views even on the ride in. The giant plus to the trip was the parking in the parking garage across the street for a fair price! STAFF: The staff was helpful and pleasant. Nothing more, nothing less, just what you would expect as a paying customer. ROOM: The room was nice, clean and […] appeared to have been updated. We were finishing up a small trip which had included DC and NYC, and, this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable beds we had slept in. Another plus is an in-room safe, as much as I would like to think people are trust worthy, I always worry about my valuables when leaving for breakfast. OVERALL: Our stay would have been awesome if it weren't for the CRAZY, JACK-HAMMERING, BLACK TOP-SAWING, INSANELY AWFUL LOUD road construction that started at MIDNIGHT!!! It completely messed up our already exhausted sleep habits. And put a damper on the mornings tourism. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend anyone stay at this Hotel for at least a month if not two months! BUT only because of the construction. If I were to travel back to Philly, I would call and ask about the construction before booking. If it were complete I would stay here again. Lisez la suite
"Don't expect the Four Seasons"
The Rodeway Inn is a cheap but clean hotel, with nice employees and a great location. Don't expect any perks (there aren't any). But it's cheap for the area and they have a waffle machine.

"Philadelphia weekend"
The woman at the desk was very helpful. The room was dark and there were holes in the walls. I was concerned about the orange extention cord that was plugged in near my headboard. The street noise was so bad that we got very little sleep and the halls were very noisy from time to time. At about 10pm a guy knocked on the door saying he was doing an emergency […] guest check- who knows what that was about. I only stayed here because all the other hotels were booked for the weekend. "Downtown Philly"
This hotel was affordable and in a great location. It's not a Hilton but we weren't there to stay in the hotel all weekend. It was a clean place to sleep and shower - worth the money in my opinion. Would stay there again.
"Great Location - Awful Hotel, but Cheap"
The hotel did not have a gym, but no worries, the elevator didn't work, so you can have fun lugging your luggage up 6 floors or more amidst a stairwell that is almost as narrow as one person's shoulders. The hotel is going through major renovations and it needs them as the furniture is old and antiquated, pipes are exposed and the floors are creaky. […] When I entered my room, there were still pubic or other hairs left on the toilet. The light above the bed was glass and cracked! ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO INDIVIDUAL CLIMATE CONTROLS FOR THE ROOMS. So, you are at the mercy at the tempature that they set the floor for. No fan to drown out the noise, and i was right next to the stairs, so everytime someone walked up or down them, I kept waking up. It is in a nice location and the staff was reasonably friendly, but overall I would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you want to save money and don't care about the living conditions. "Review"
Boyfriend and I stayed here the weekend hurricane Irene was supposed to blow the east coast away. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude when we were soaked from the rain. My boyfriend asked if they had a dryer and she replied very rudely "NOT FOR GUESTS." Why so rude? We loved the charm of the hotel. There are 7 floors, tiny elevator only goes […] to the 6th..... Thank god we were on the 3rd. Commmmfy bed. Clean! Great central location. Lisez la suite
