Nice hotel. On our way there, I had to call the front desk from a few blocks away for driving directions and they were friendly and helpful with accurate directions. The room was clean, no smells. We had a king bed on the fourth floor and it was very comfortable as well as quiet which made it easy to sleep in late.

I booked this hotel because they advertised it as a non-smoking property but both of our rooms stunk of old smoke. STUNK! It was hard to sleet with the smell for my entire family.

We returned to the hotel on Thanksgiving evening and I became sick (maybe food poisoning). My husband called down to find out if the gift shop had any Pepto-Bismal. There is nothing flashy about this hotel, just consistent quality. The pool is always warm and the breakfast is always fresh and delicious. We have enjoyed all of our stays so far and look forward to staying again in the future.

We were in town for a family wedding. We called from the car, trying to figure out which Albany exit to take off the thruway- the front desk person stayed on the phone to give directions that got us quickly to the hotel. I wish I could remember his name, as he also checked us in when we got there. Fri pm, 10/28, around 7 pm. excellent hotel -- free breakfast buffet (including eggs & bacon), free wifi, indoor pool, fitness room -- how can you go wrong? Bed and room were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the Albany area.

Very pleasant hotel and staff. We arrived just as the hurricane was coming in, very late at night. The next morning they lost power, but the staff was very helpful, and did their best with a tough situation

Hotel, room & bathroom clean. Beds very comfortable. Staff nice-they recommended a nice little diner for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Needed a place to stay on family vacation return trip from Canada. This hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. As we entered our "non-smoking" room, we could immediately tell that someone had smoked in it recently. Front desk was very accommodating and reassigned us to another room. Great price and practically across the street from a shopping center with the great restaurants Creo and Provence and others too.

This hotel met all of our needs. We stayed here because of the close proximity to my son's baseball tournaments and was very pleased. The hotel was clean and the hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was a plus.

I appreciated how quiet it was in my room. I was not disturbed by any noise from hotel patrons nor any noises from out of doors. Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff! I'm very picky when it comes to hotels and I don't have anything but good to say about the Holiday Inn Express in Albany! My kids loved the pool and the breakfast was delicious! All around a great place to stay!

I stayed this past weekend the Memorial holiday. I came in from out of town to Albany for a friends wedding, and found the staff to be very helpful. They were able to find us stuff to do in and around the city and also printed out directions on how to get there as well as helpful information. They were courteous, and made our stay comfortable.

This hotel was within walking distance of my son's family home, so was very conveniently located for me. I felt very safe walking in the area. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are excellent. The breakfast buffet was good, but don't expect a "full English" - although the American equivalent is acceptable. The lady who replenished […] the buffet was a treasure.There was fresh fruit salad and apples and bananas available every morning, which was nice. The paper plates and plastic cutlery were a bit disappointing, but perhaps inevitable given the need to keep costs down, and probably common to all US hotels? The environmental cost of all that trash every day must be higher than a few gallons of washing up water. The room was very clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed, couch, table, fridge, microwave oven, coffee machine, free WiFi, etc. I really enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others. We (2 adults, 2 kids, 9 and 12) stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Western Avenue in Albany, NY on 4/24/2011. The hotel staff was very friendly and quite helpful. The location of the hotel is nice, close to SUNY Albany and the center of the city. The breakfast, which was included in our room rate was excellent given the small extra cost. The room […] contained a microwave, a small refrigerator and a flat screen TV. It was quite small, but was nicely decvorated and very clean. The hotel was quite well maintained. The pool area and exercise rooms were small but very functional! There is an outdoor patio with a grill that would be a nice place for drinks in better weather. A Ninety Nine Restaraunt is located a few hunderd yards west of the Hotel on Rt 20. We will likely return to this hotel in the future. Stayed here for one night en route to Boston. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the efficiency of the room design- with a small fridge and microwave.Very nice breakfast. I'd stay here again.

We stayed with our infant son. The infant cribs are kind of small but the king size bed was plenty big for the three of us. Staff was very friendly. Great, warm, and fresh cooked Cont. Breakfast. Clean and modern. We were very pleased and would stay there again.

Excellent Hotel . Everyone was polite and friendly. Breakfast in the morning had plenty of choice for a self serve,and great when you were in a hurry. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. I would use this hotel again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were up to date and clean with wireless internet and flat screen tvs. The staff was very friendly and they even offer a snack upon check in! I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express under the recommendation of the College we were visiting, and we were glad we did. It is close to SUNY Albany and The College of St. Rose which made visiting easy. There are also many places to eat and shop within a couple of miles. The hotel itself was immaculate. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We went there to visit my daughter at Ualbany on Parents Weekend. There was complimentary breakfast and snacks. The hotel was very clean. My husband is handicapped and they gave us a handicapped accessible room on the first floor. The room could have been a little bigger, but the bathroom was enormous with a […] big shower that was handicapped accessible. Everyone here and everything works for excellence. Super clean, great facility, WARM pool, friendly staff, great breakfast. Just lots of extra little touches. Plus it's half a mile from a great mall and another across street. And decent restaurants in neighborhood. Easy access to downtown Albany.
