We have stayed at this hotel on a previous trip to San Francisco. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, in North Beach, with great restaurants and bars on the doorstep and walkable to many locations.
"Great Location - Hotel Boheme"
Hotel Boheme is a very rustic hotel. We enjoyed it because it was close to where we wanted to be. It doesn't have all the "hype" that large hotels have but if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep it is perfect. There are restaurants, good ones, all up and down the block and Fisherman's Wharf is just a few blocks away. Charming neighborhood. It […] does have free wi-fi. Only negative thing is there is no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage or the ol' legs don't work so well you might have a bit of trouble. Also front rooms may be a little noisy, but the back rooms are quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Boheme in San Francisco"
This hotel only has 15 rooms so every guest is treated like family. It is in an excellent Italian neighbourhood, walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown. Close to most other major attractions and lots of good restaurants . Best breakfast is at Mama's, but you must get there early to line up. It is only opened from 8 til 3.
"Lovely hotel, great location!"
We stayed here for 5 nights and were very impressed. The hotel is clean (with nicely decorated rooms), the staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a very good location-15 minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf one way and Union Square the other. Would definitely stay again!
"Great stay!!"
A very unique and funky hotel. My fiancé and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting San Francisco for the first time. The location is great. Great food very nearby and everything you could possibly want to do is a short walk away. The room was not nearly as small as some others claim. For the two of us and our small amount of luggage it was perfect. […] It was a simple, stylish, and comfortable room. If your a prude and expect the world on a silver platter this might not be for you. But if your a simple person who enjoys quality over quantity then this place is awesome. Perfect fit for us and the vibe of this great city. Tom, you were great, thank you! We will definitely be back. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Boheme - Beat poet chic!"
This hotel is my favorite in SF. I lived in SF for 15 years, and this hotel is in one of the loveliest neighborhoods in the city. Close to everything & all the greatest food. Hotel staff is very professional and friendly. The best boutique hotel I know!
"Hotel boheme in SF"
It was great! Perfect location and felt safe. Great Coffee shop Down stairs. I wold recommend!
"Cute but small"
We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel. Overall we couldn't complain but the room is a bit small and the bathroom shelf on a slant so things slid off the shelf. The location was fantastic and we got to meet some funny characters on the street out the front. The restaurant next door to the Hotel was great and very convenient. Overall a lovely holiday in […] San Francisco. Lisez la suite
"ok but challenging"
Here's what they don't tell you: 1. No elevator so heavy luggage is a problem 2. No air conditioning...not a problem UNLESS you get an interior room with no ability to get any air Very small rooms but reasonably clearn. Great fun neighborhood.
"I don't get "Romantic"!"
I was swayed to this hotel by the ratings and reviews on this site, so gave it a shot last week. Reviewers called it "romantic", and "charming". It sounded like a a B and B which I normally enjoy. What it really is is old and musty. The room was stuffy, and there is no air conditioning. I opend the window, but the street noise made sleeping tough. My […] allergies gave me tons of trouble as the night progressed, and I was up at 6AM after only four hours of sleep. Definitely a big, big disappointment. FYI - my flight was delayed, so arrived around 1AM. The downstairs door is locked (lobby is a one flight walk up) - and I rang the bell for more than 15 minutes before I noticed a flyer on the hotel with a phone number (there was no phone number on the reservation confirmation - BIG BIG Ommission). Not sure what I would have done if that one lonely flyer was not there - but I would not have slept at this hotel! I was able to call the hotel and after another 5 minutes did get in. Not a great experience all around. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Boheme San Francisco"
My first take on the website at booking was that it was very "Guy Noir", it was this and more. A true step back in time and we totally loved it! Will return for sure.
"Great place to stay - great location - great staff"
I travel to San Francisco at least once a year. This was my first stay at the hotel and I will defiantly be back. The location was great - right in North Beach and by Fisherman’s Warf. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the sherry form 6 to 10 was a great bonus. The rooms are a little small but very comfortable and clean. I would recommend […] this hotel to anyone wanting a funky place in a great location. There also tons of good restaurants nearby and the café across the street from the hotel is great for breakfast. "Great place"
Great place. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. It is not posh and very large or upgraded, but for the price it was a great find. TONS of great food in the area, and close to everything you want to see in SF. Overall, great trip.
"Hotel Boheme San Francisco"
Everything we expected-- great North Beach location, hotel a little bit funky, great service. Stan behind the desk is the most helpful guy you will ever meet. He understood exactly what we wanted to do in SF, and then what kind of thing we would want to do later with our children, and he was a real goldmine. Wonderful photos on walls as well-- too bad […] they aren't lit well enough to see... our only real complaint was that this ancient building has correspondingly ancient temperature control. Way, WAY too hot in our room and no way to get it cool enough to sleep comfortably under the covers provided-- and this was early March! Still, a great place and overall I would return (and take my own light blanket). Lisez la suite
"Great Location, Friendly Staff"
This was a great place to stay with lots of character in a great part of SF. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The room was a but hot/stuffy, but the fan they provide helped.
"...BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY..."
...I've been to San Francisco many times and love the city, have always stayed at the downtown Hyatts or Hiltons, but this visit I wanted to stay in the unique neighborhood of North Beach and stumbled upon the Hotel Boheme...I don't think I would ever stay anywhere else...the rooms are small but brilliantly old world romantic: an iron bed, sitting chairs, […] armoire, bay window over Columbus street and a tiny but spectacularly cool bathroom/shower...the staff is welcoming, friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable about the hotel, neighborhood and city and the complimentary glass of sherry @ 5P daily cinches the deal...outside the front door is ground zero of one of the finest and most colorful urban neighborhoods in any American city, like stepping into a movie set of the San Francisco you dream of but can't find on a map, an old Italian bakery on the right and and a wonderful Italian tratorria on the left (kitchen is open till 1:00AM seven days a week!) and scores of authentic cafes, bars, markets, shops and a street culture as vibrant as anywhere in the world on the very edge of Nob Hill, Chinatown, Montgomery Street Financial district, Broadway, Telegraph Hill and Fisherman's Wharf...the famed Sentinel Building and the Transamerica Pyramid beckon from one end of the street and beautiful Washington Square from the other...if you're looking for a full-service, modern, big city hotel, forget about coming here...but if you're looking to experience the earthy charm of the best part of San Francisco in an incomparably intimate and affordable boutique hotel, this is the place for you...be sure to pack your dreams... "location, location, location"
We did not spend much time in the room, cause the location in North Beach is to die for. However, the room was comfortable, clean, and convenient!
"Not a cookie cutter hotel"
Nice cute San Fran-y hotel in a great location. Has some of the drawbacks of that charm too - only shower in my room, a flight of stairs and NO ELEVATOR to get to reception - but I slept very well and the staff were very helpful!
"Character and Charm On the Beat Path"
The Hotel Boheme is a great choice for travelers who want something different than a standard national chain hotel. You won't find elevators, air conditioning in the rooms or flat screen televisions. But you will find a place to stay that is full of character and staffed by extremely friendly and helpful people. The 50s decor of the hotel and the period […] furniture were a nice change from the Ikea knock-offs at most places. The sherry set out at 5pm was a great touch. And the location is perfect for people wanting convenience to San Francisco's tourist sights, but want to avoid being stuck right in the middle of downtown. North Beach is a quintessential SF neighborhood with brilliant architecture, stellar restaurants and a colorful streetlife. In all my trips to the City, it was my favorite location for lodging. "Hotel Boheme"
Place smelled like a stale cigarette no fresch air room was very small.
"Hotel Boheme in San Francisco - close to all"
The hotel, although older, has a lot of history. The room was always cleaned, clean sheets, towels etc. and staff service was very gracious in helping out with whatever I needed help with. Meaning, that they were always available for me to chat with, to find out where they recommended to go for dinner, breakfast, to music venues, Museums, shopping, […] etc. Being that the hotel is in the centre of "Little Italy", the food, caffe's, etc. were next door, across the street, and others close by. Not to mention, close to Chinatown and downtown shopping stores, and not far from Fisherman's Wharf and The Golden Gate Bridge. I had a lot of fun in my stay in San Fran., and would recommend a stay at Hotel Boheme anytime. Oh, it was quiet, too. I had a great comfortable bed, and got lots of well needed sleep. Thanks so much to the staff. Great customer service and they all had excellent communication skills. Lisez la suite
"Love Hotel Boheme - Great location"
A little hotel in the heart of North Beach. Location, Location, Location!!! This tiny little establishment is old, out of date, a little shabby and yet wonderful. The street front door is almost invisible among the myriad of Italian restaurants, Pastry shop, Art Gallery doors that line Columbus Ave. On entry to the hotel one has to walk up and almost […] impossibly steep set of creaking old wooden stairs with walls lined with black and white images from the 1950's to reach the main floor with its front desk. From that location there is yet another crazy steep set of stairs to another level of rooms above. The rooms themselves are postage stamp size and the beds should really be replaced. Curtains and lamps are torn and appear used up by time and visitors. Those rooms have a queen size bed under a gauzy hanging thing and an old chinese lacquered paper ceiling lamp. There is an armoire with one extra blanket and a fan (no air conditioning needed in San Francisco), one small table and two small chairs with seat and back cushions and one window with a heavy drape. The room itself is not much more than 10X10 with hardly enough room for two persons to be up and moving at the same time and very little room for suit cases. There is a tiny but spotless tiled bath with shower where one can touch all the amenities while standing in one spot. There is no in-room coffee and no room service and they serve no breakfast or have any food of any kind in the hotel itself. Having said all that it is by far our most favorite hotel in San Francisco. The staff is friendly and go out of there way to be helpful. The rooms are clean as are the public spaces. The wireless internet boasts more than 3 megs down/up and a pleasure to use. The sherry set out each night for guests is excellent. The old fashion furniture in the halls and rooms are homey and comfortable while the closet size rooms are warm and comfortable and as quiet as one can get in the middle of a densely populated area of San Franci Lisez la suite
"Hotel Boheme- San Francisco"
Nice botique hotel right in the heart of the North Beach section of San Francisco. Very European style hotel with small but very cozy room and bathroom. The room was well maintained and very clean. The staff was very nice. This hotel is walking distance to everywhere in North Beach.
"Hotel in the Heart of North Beach"
You are right in the middle of World Famous North Beach (Italian neighborhood) we had a room facing the street and it wasn’t that noisy, but we live by a busy street, so no problem for us. The room is small, but cozy like a B&B room no tub but a shower with fire hose pressure, it was awesome. They give everyone in the hotel a wine tasting in the afternoon […] that was nice. We would stay again. Lisez la suite
"Nostalgische Dolce Vita"
