"COAST PLAZA"
TRÈS CONFORTABLE
"great neighbourhood"
Great neighborhood reminds me of James Bay in Victoria. Close to beach and nice restaurants. Grocery store downstairs was a bonus. Beds nice and comfy. Nice view from the 18th floor. Bathrooms are a little dated and whirlpool a little disappointing. Bus right to GM place.

"Relaxing stay."
Excellent, friendly staff. Great location. Room is dated but clean and everything else makes up for that! Will stay here again when I visit Vancouver.
"Beautiful area"
Excellent location in beautiful picturesque community by the beach. We had amazing views of the Lions Gate Bridge, mountains, water and downtown skyline.
"Best view in tiwn"
Great service, food is disappointing!
"Perfect for families"
Very friendly, helpful, check in staff. Perfect location to Stanley Park and English Bay, both walkable. Vibrant neighborhood with tons of eating options. Wonderful to have a fridge in the room and a pool in the building.

"Great location"
We're from the lower mainland, but wanted to stay in a hotel downtown in order to attend a competition at the Vancouver Convention Centre (only 20 min. to get there by transfit from hotel). Our room was nice and clean. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we had a kitchenette. There was lots of closet and drawer space for our belongings. Although […] we didn't sit out on the balcony (time of year), we did thave a nice view of the city and ocean. Everything was near by, including a supermarket, drugstore and coffeeshops etc. It's only a couple of blocks from the beach. I think this would be the ideal place to stay for any tourist visiting Vancouver in the summer time. Lisez la suite

"Coast Plaza Hotels &Suites-Vancouver, BC"
All in all, the Coast Hotel & Suites was great from the front desk staff to the parking attendant. Very welcoming and courteous. Room was clean with all the amenities and the bed was quite comfortable. Location is close to major eateries and shops. They have it all for a great visit in downtown Vancouver. Cheers!!!!

"Coast Hotel and Suits Downtown Vancouver"
This is a great Hotel to stay at. Very helpful staff. Clean and convenient. I would recommend this hotel.
"Great location - Great price"
The hotel is dated, but it's in a great location and I got a great price.
"Great Location and Quality Service"
I've stayed at this hotel many times and love the location and service. Although this time there was a fire drill at 9pm, it took several minutes for anyone to announce that it was just a fire drill though. This woke up my 3 year old son and we had difficulty putting him back to bed as he was very scared. A warning would have been helpful. Also our […] room was right beside the elevator and was very noisy as the elevator back onto the master bedroom. Besides these two incidents, we really enjoyed our stay, the pool and the convenience to everything downtown. Lisez la suite
"Coast Hotel West Vancouver,BC"
Slightyly older property but well maintained and a great location. Really good value for the price.
"Aging Beauty"
This hotel really showed its age during our stay. Built in an earlier time, the exterior is unremarkable by today's standards; heavy on the concrete. This makes it less pretty on the outside and more quirt in the rooms on the inside. The reception staff was extremely warm and welcoming and did not emit an air of arrogance that can be found in other […] top-rated hotels. The room was spacious and having the full kitchen would have been great if we used it. That said, the kitchen stove was very old and the microwave wouldn't have been able to handle a full bag of popcorn. The cabinets looked like they had been raided--we weren't fully equipped with plates, glasses and flatware had we decided to cook our meals. Still the sleeper sofa was comfortable for me and my boys sleep soundly in the twin beds. As far as amenities go, the restaurant served us big portions of tasty food, though it was a little pricey. The pool was a wonderful break for the family and we enjoyed jumping in and out of the whirlpool. Bring goggles if you swim because the chlorine was strong, which hurt my eyes later at night when I was trying to read. Lastly, the mall underneath offers some convenience, but is a little depressing. The wine store's selection was unimpressive but the grocery store would have everything you need to cook meals for your trip. Lisez la suite
"Great value and exceptional service!"
We stayed on Friday night at the Coast, and were very pleased with our choice. The value was outstanding. The location is perfect for exploring Stanley Park, English Bay, and has a wonderful variety of restaurants to choose from. The hotel service was excellent, and everyone whom we came into contact with went out of their way to make us feel comfortable […] and welcome. The views from the higher floors are spectacular. Great pool and hot tub, and even colouring books and toys for the kids! All in all, a great stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location and value. We will be back. "The Sutton Inn in dowtown Vancouver"
The hotel was very busy and disorganized when I arrived. I could not get into my room as I arrived early so left them my phone number to contact me when available. By 9:30 at night they had not phoned. Could not find dishes in the bedroom suite as they were ALL hidden in the dishwasher. To top it off the valet forgot to retrieve my vechicle. A half […] hour later I had to ask for it again. Lisez la suite

"Good location"
Good location and price is right if you book it at right time (hint: well ahead of time). But the strange noise (likely from the elevator) make one feel it is windy outside all day and night if your room is one of the suite near the elevator.
"Good Location"
Lots of restaurants of every kind within a block. The full gym is amazing and the winter rates are good. I have stayed in this hotel summer and winter and the value is hard to beat.
"Great Location!!"
this is an excellent hotel with balcony! at a great location to English Bay, Robson street, etc.
"Great place for a family."
We had a fantastic long weekend at the Coast Plaza Hotel. The staff were very accommodating, and our room was just right for our family. The hotel is by no means fancy, but for a family with three children under the age of 8, it was perfect. Our room was a suite on the 28th floor. We had a king bedroom (with closing door), and a large family room area […] with a fold out couch and there was plenty of room for the crib. We even had a full kitchen! The bathroom could use some updating, but the hotel was clean, there was a pool that the kids loved, and the location is perfect! We walked to everything. It was a great deal for a perfect hotel! "Coast Plaza in Vancouver"
Had an amazing three night stay. Hotel staff were nothing but pleasant and helpful, with directions, extra bedding and anything we needed to make our stay more comfortable! Thank you for looking after us and making our stay in Van a wonderful time.
"Good location; not very clean"
The hotel is close to Vancouver aquarium/Stanley Park, which is very convenient. But the rooms are old; the kitchen in the suite has stained plates and a temperamental stove.
"excellent"
we were all very happy with our stay. Excellent location, cleanliness, staff, and a great view. Best of all was fantastic price for all the benefits.

"nice place to live"
this is the first time live in Vancouver , we stay about 12days in this hotel, price is very good and so many resterant around the hotel
Nice room, great view. Don't put too many bubbles into the jacuzzi tub because the bubbles will overflow when you turn on the jets :)
"good value"
nice big one bedroom apartment, pool was clean, warm water, very good for swimmers.
Canadians are so nice.

Cannot say enough good things about the friendly staff. Unfortunately all suites are built around the elevators so very noisy in our suite. View was amazing. We were able to walk everywhere.
"Coast Plaza in Vancouver"
great rates when compared to hotels of similar quality downtown. Fabulous views and close to everything, but still out of the main touristy areas.

"Might be good in the summer for family vacation"
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, promoted as a resort hotel on the westside of the West End of Vancouver. On both occasions I was here because of a function going on in the hotel. It is comfortable enough and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The building was once well-appointed but is now showing its age; the furnishings […] have not been updated for about twenty years and there is wear-and-tear on a lot of the furniture, walls and so on. The downtown tourist activities are about 3/4 mile a way, although in the summer the beach (just suntan, always too cold to swim in the ocean) and Stanley Park are an easy walk. The surrounding area (Davie St, Denman St) is a pleasant community and is a good example of how Vancouver created very livable cities with very high density. There are lots of restaurants and street ambience, but little else with strong tourist appeal. Starbucks is at the corner of Denman and Davie. Bus service to the downtown area is excellent (every 7 minutes, $CAD 2.50). English Bay Bicycle on Davie St will rent bikes. The hotel might appeal to families on summer vacation or those visiting relatives nearby but not to couples, singles, businesspersons or other market segments. It is not near the business district so it's likely not a good location for those visiting company offices. There are two restaurants in the hotel. The Brasserie, promoted as fine dining, is also showing its age and has a pedestrian menu. The Comox Bar and Grill is closed for lunch, and mostly appeals to a plus 40 (or 50) crowd that wants to relax after work, play pool and drink. The wine selection is actually pretty good. The surrounding restaurants offer far more menu (and ambience) selection. The demographics of the hotel and bar seem to have aged even faster and more than that of Canada's; in the 80s the bar was a young persons' hangout. The swimming pool and hot tub are of good size although they are both showing wear-and-tear and the hot tub looks old Lisez la suite
"Coast Suites Vancouver"
I stayed here for a week during October to attend a conference (also held in the hotel). The room/hotel decor was a little dated, the hotel certainly isn't chic, but it was comfortable, with good facilities and most of all really friendly and helpful service. My suite was large, with a balcony and separate seating area. The kitchenette was particularly […] welcome - great to be able to make my own food sometimes, and there was an added bonus of a supermarket accessible directly from the hotel (although more upmarket safeway supermarket up the road). As breakfast was not included with the room this was especially useful, although room service from the restaurant is available (good discount for evening meals). The only real issue during my stay was poor wifi connection, apparently an issue in corner suites. I tried the pool a couple of times and had the place to myself, perfectly nice pool and sauna, and I heard good reports of the gym. I was impressed with both the front desk and concierge desk, who helped arrange day trips for colleagues, booked my airport transfer and helped me with a PC issue. There is even a small office for residents' use and I was able to print free of charge. The hotel is in a friendly and interesting neighourhood with good restaurants close by and easy access to key city sights, eg stanley park, and a 10 min walk to the ferry to Granville island. "Bed bugs"
This hotel is very inconvenient if you want to be near the downtown or financial district. It is fine if you want to be near the park and English Bay. However, it can be noisy--construction when we were there nearby, dogs barking, street noise. If you want to risk bed bugs and do not want a firm mattress, proceed at your peril. If all this does not […] discourage you then: ROOM TIP: Get a high floor (14 or higher) facing the water. Front desk staff are not the best. Ask for the front desk manager if dissatisfied.
