Hotel vieillot mais relativement propre. Personnel agréable à la disposition des clients. Emplacement idéal à promité des différentes lignes de métro , de la Vème avenue, de Times SQuare. Pensez à réclamer des serviettes de bain qui sont distribuées au nombre de brosse à dents présenté dans la salle de bain.

Hôtel agréable, petit déjeuner servit de 6h30 à 9h30 correcte (ne pas arriver trop tard), station de métro ( 39 Av ) à 3min à pieds qui vous mène en 9min à la 5ème Avenue. Chambre spacieuse et bien équipée.

Nous recommandons fortement cet hotel. Super vue sur manhattan, terrasse exceptionnelle sur les toits..fabuleux !!! les chambres sont très cosy, propres, vraiment rien à redire. C'était parfait. les alentours de l'hotel sont effectivement surprenants (zone industrielle) mais peu importe la qualité, le service, la vue nous font, tout de suite, oublier les environs. Même si nous ne sommes dans manhattan même, aucun souci de transport.....en 10 minutes grand max nous y sommes. c'est très bien desservi et en plus il y a une navette qui peut nous amener au centre de manhattan. Vriament nous recoomandons vivement cet hotel et si c'était à refaire nous y retournerons sans problème! c'est fabuleux !!!!

Très bien situé pour un premier séjour à NY. Acceuil impersonnel,mais sympatique . Concierge à partir de 10h jusqu'à 18h. Chambre de bonne taille et propre. Attention de ne pas prendre de chambre avec cheminé l'été car odeur désagréable.Je m'en suis fais fourger une alors que j'avais précisé sans cheminé mais l'hôtel étant plein je n'ai pas eu le choix. "A Eviter en été et si on aime pas le bruit"
Nous connaissions cet hôtel pour y avoir séjourner en hiver. Nous avons donc pris la suite avec cheminée. Or, il faut savoir qu'en été, le conduit de cheminé est bouché mais l'odeur de brûlé persiste. Malgré un changement de chambre, l'odeur est toujours là. Generalement l'hotel est tres froid. Si vous etes fans de design épuré tres aseptisé, allez y sinon à éviter. Nous sommes arrives le soir. Les lumieres sont tellement tamisees qu'on y voit à peine, et qu'on peine à trouver la reception cachée en retrait. Nous avons été "upgradé" dans une chambre avec cheminée qui ressemblait très sincèrement à un cimetière. […] Nous avons demandé à récupérer la chambre initialement reservée (superior double bedroom) qui était moins effrayante. Quand vous rentrez dans la chambre, vous ne trouvez pas la lumiere, il faut tatonner et allumez toutes les loupiottes une a une vous meme. La télé capte mal. Le service de pay per view est cher. La femme de menage nous a reveillé a 8h du matin pour faire la chambre. Le garcon du room service s'est trompé de chambre le soir et nous a reveillé. Dans la chambre, rien n'est pratique. On galère pour faire le moindre geste quotidien car c'est design, mais là c'est du design agaçant. Rien à redire sur la propreté, mais ils oublient de remplir le minibar tout les jours, pourtant pas donné. Le dernier jour, le garcon nous a apporté la note du minibar (fausse et non detaillee) tot le matin alors que nous étions à peine levé. Généralement, c'est une somme d'agacements qui ont rendu notre séjour dans cet hôtel désagréable. Nous n'y retournerons sincèrement jamais. Great hotel, great service. The hallways are narrow and dark, but the rooms were large and roomy. The rooms were clean and looked newly renovated. Just two blocks from Times Square. Great place great hotel. Definitely recommend.

Up until this visit, I didn't even know the Royalton existed. What a pleasant surprise! Small but functional and comfortable room with all of the amenities. And the desk staff! So pleasant and accommodating! Will definitely return.

Great, stylish hotel, in a very convenient location. Only two problems: very dark - all lights are dimmed, to the point that you can't see what floors to press in the elevator. also, the HVAC is very loud.

My room was a little small. The bathrooms were basic (walk in shower, no tub). The location is awesome. The bar/restaurant downstairs looked like a great place to get something to drink/eat. Too bad I only stayed one night. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

We stayed here for one night and it was very nice. Apparently one of the first in the new "boutique" hotels. Very dark on the inside, cool lobby and bar. We were there on Saturday and no one was really in the lobby but I here it's a popular place to get a drink and hang out during the week. The rooms are very nice, modern, and include an iPad for some […] services. Overall a good stay, but a little pricey and the service was good but not great. "Great Location - Hip Hotel"
Very good room with a balcony that overlooked 44th St. (one of only six). Room had unique style that was very user friendly. Very little room for toiletries in the bathroom, but outstanding shower. Lobby is dark and sometimes loud at night with lots of bar action, but hostess at the entry of the lobby to take you to the guest services was very nice […] and a helpful touch. Great location. "My most relaxing stay in NY"
I travel to NY frequently for business but this was my first stay at The Royalton. I will be back for sure. I was lucky to get upgraded to a larger room than I've ever had in NY - which was great because I was there for 3 nights. Made my entire trip so much easier and less stressful. The staff was amazing, location is excellent - close to mid-town activity […] and convenience but off the main path so it's very quiet. Love the Malin & Goetz products, yumm. The last time I was in NYC, I stayed in upper west side. This location was ten times better. And the lady behind the counter was great she upgraded my room to a bigger room. And I loved, loved the shower. I would take two a day. And there were so many kosher restaurants around which made things so much easier for me.

Love this hotel but beware that the interior is very subterranean. Great for evenings, not so for a sunny spring day. Rooms also dark with grey walls and few lights. That said, everything else was great so if you're a creature of the night you'll love it!

As previous guests have stated the Hotel is underlit especially the bathrooms. The tile floors are extremely cold and no scuffs were provided (unbelievable for this price range and rating). Air conditioning makes a racket all night both that inside the room and the enormous thing outside my window in the so called "room with a view" courtyard. Food […] was dreadful. I had the impression that the Royalton would prefer to be a bar. A true original indeed. There are many other far, far better choices in the area, in fact, in the same street. The Royalton is a decent option for accommodation in Midtown. Pretty close to everything you need, with Grand Central and Bryan Park subways within easy walking distance. We stayed for a weekend in Jan 2012 and the hotel condition and room were both fine. The bed was not too comfortable (rock hard, actually) and the room, like most NYC rooms, wasn't […] very big but for us it was fine since we spent most of our time outside. It was noisy outside in the street in the early hours of the morning which affected our sleep a little but for two nights we could deal with it., Overall this hotel is OK. The hotel was beautiful. The rooms so clean and modern. The location could not have been better. Definitly a spot near everything. Rooom service was quick and delicious.Definitly recommend to others who want to be within walking distance of just about everything Christmas cool in NYC.

It was the first time I have stayed there and I was not expecting much after having to pull my own luggage up the front steps and navigate a noisy lobby to find registration. However, I ended up very impressed. My room was beautiful and well laid out. Room service dinner came immediately and was delicious. All at a fair price.

The hotel is located in an ideal location only a couple of minutes walk away from Times Square and 5th Avenue. The hotel staff are all very friendly and willing to help if required. Definately would recommend the hotel. :D

I had only one problem with the hotel and that is the picture on hotels.com showed a big red door when I arrived there was no big red door there was a big door but it was black other than that it was one of the best hotels I ever stayed at oh one more thing itbwas a bit pricey so be prepared to spend some money (giggles)

The hotel was very good. Nice atmosphere and great location. Unfortunately, the rooms were a bit small and the air condition units were particularly noisy. The lifts were somewhat unreliable. Finally the bar at the hotel is a bit pricey (particularly the beer).

The hotel deserves it's 4 stars. It is very nice, modern, clean and perfectly located in midtown Manhattan. The rooms are very comfortable, and the showers are amazing. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The only issues we had were the elevators being extremely slow, but they did leave a note in the room saying they were working on improving that, […] so that shouldn't be an issue in the future. Also, it would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room. Most hotels have these and provide complimentary coffee to their guests. Other than those two minor things, the hotel was great. "Amazing Hotel In an amazing location"
Only one word can describe this hotel immaculate. The hotel was spotless,well-designed and in a great location. The room was extremely well designed and comfortable not to mention clean. The bed was so soft I didn't want to go home the next day. Prob the nicest room I have stayed in period... I mean come one it came with an iPad. The bar at the bottom […] of the hotel was a great place to start an end the night great drinks. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in NY. Ps that I stayed in a suit .... I've stayed at this hotel before and it seems like it is in need of a makeover. It's still a great hotel with a great lobby/bar. However, carpets are fading and it doesn't look as clean and edgy as it used to. Overall though everyone was very friendly at the hotel and it's in a prime location for getting around to some of the major NYC attractions.

The Royalton greets you with unassuming front door that automatically opens into a cosmopolitan lobby and bar lounge. The staff was helpful and the rooms are nicely appointed. It's quite expensive, but the location in midtown really cannot be beat. Our room, with queen bed was modern and sleek, but with annoying bathroom features, such as no bath, limited […] counter space, a weird place for the facial soap and poor lighting. But the shower was great and spacious. Also, it does annoy me that there is no refrigerator space for your own beverages and that you have to call down for ice and there's no self-serve ice option. My final complaint are the elevators: slow, small and sterile in lighting and design. However, we did enjoy our stay, as the beds were comfortable, the TV and iPad were nice touches and the bar made you feel like you were in a cool NYC locale - which we were. Lisez la suite
Had stayed here many times. Great hotel. Great location. New room color was disappointing (preferred the white before) but room continues to be very nice. Speedy of response from staff, on a couple of quick requests, was less than optimal. But friendliness and overall service were good. Recommend.

Great location. Modern, techy. Do not take comfort room, it includes a "mirror cabinet" which eats the room size not really addid value. Restourant and bar are overpriced. Barkeepers are losing interest to you if you are after a bier only.
