We normally stay at this hotel after a nine-hour flight from the east coast and then walk across the street to Budget car rental. The outdoor pool is nice but we never have had time to enjoy it. "Four Points Sheraton LAX Area"
I didn't really like my room. It was very cold I needed some HEAT. I thought the bed sheets were a bit unacceptable. the sheets were irritating my skin. I ate at restaurant, it was very dusty, they had flies. I had to call the manager and notify him of the flies and that my order was not done as I requested. I was the ONLY customer in there and I told […] the waiter my order TWICE and he messed it up. Then had an attitude about it. However, the manager worked it out and he was understanding and helpful. However they should clean up down there. I think of Four Points Sheraton LAX as decent hotel but the attitudes of the workers in restaurant was terrible, but the manager was okay. I would not recommend you to go there nor order from them at all. You normally don't see the kitchen or who is cooking but if you order room service I would suggest you go down there and take a look for yourself. It was pathetic and you would think the people would see all that dust, flies, and nasty seats in there. It was a shame. Also I'm not sure if they have a shuttle. I will have to find out more, but I took a cab there and the cabs at LAX many have attitudes so they have to charge a flat fee to drive you to this hotel. I get that part but I don't like when they tried to tell me to take a shuttle or etc. If I had time to wait I would have and I wasn't tired from traveling. This is a older property and it shows. My room was at the furthest point away for the check in desk that it could be. I really needed a map to find it but one was not provided to me. The hôtel is located near 2 highways (the 405 and 105), ideal to allow you to explore the L. A. region with your car. The Aviation - LAX station is a short drive away and allows you to explore downtown L.A. without your car. The parking is not included. The toilet in the room is small. The hotel is an airport hotel near LAX, so that should have been my first sign it wouldn't be a great stay. Let me start by saying I travel weekly for work and only write reviews for hotels that stand out in my mind (both good and bad). On first impression, the hotel looked nice enough. The room I stayed in had a giant bay window that looked out into the hallway (so you get to hear every person that walks past or speaks in the hallway. I have had this type of room before and I HATE it. No true privacy in my opinion this way. The next surprise was the bathroom. The fixtures were all rusty, the door knob didn't work correctly, and they have the vanity/sink in one room and the shower, toilet, and towels in another. On top of that, the bath towels smelled terrible. I mean, like someone was using them to make smoke signals or something. The hand towels were fine, so I sucked it up and dried myself off with those. On top of it all, the room just felt dirty and dingy. It had that vibe that someone gross was in it before me and they didn't care to clean it properly. We arrived late at night past 11pm. While the hotel has a 24 hour airport shuttle service that is supposed to run every 15 minutes, we waited for about half an hour before one turns up. Everything would have been fine except for both nights I stayed they had absolutely no parking and were sending their guests over to the Marriott, where there was also no parking. Not only that but if you did find parking at the Marriott, you had to pay their overnight pricing which was a lot more than the Four Points parking so I didn't appreciate […] that at all. Then it just so happened that the only floor that didn't have an ice machine on it was my floor so I had to go to a different floor to get ice. My stay was the worst ever! I paid for a parking space which was not available upon my return to the hotel. The manager told me my only option was to go park a block away and they would reimburse my cost for parking in someone else parking space. In the beginning, the manager was unwilling to reimburse me my $19 dollars I had paid to park at her hotel […] but only willing to reimburse the cost of parking in someone else parking lot. A few customers were willing to park in recommended parking lot but others including myself refused. We all had to park illegal in the hotel parking lot due to no space. We booked the hotel for my mom before her 6 am flight. There was a party next to her room until 2 am so she didn't get a lot of sleep before her flight. She called the hotel personnel a couple of times but they didn't do anything about it even though they said they would take care of it every time she called. We weren't expecting much as the price was good...but when we accidently went to the wrong hotel next door (also 4 star) we wished we had stayed in that one. However this largely dated and dreary hotel saw us good for 1 night before our flight home. Despite having a Goldilocks moment getting a decent room: The first was a smoking room (would of been […] nice to have been told the options at the counter); the second was 1 metre from the AC units on the roof (good luck sleeping in those rooms); the third we got upgraded for free (I did offer to pay) - But only difference in rooms was ceramics in the bathroom.
