"Good Inner City Hotel"
The hotel is old and for that reason has lots of character. I couldn't help feel that with hotel standard these days the hotel should be rated a 'very good 3*' not 4*as it needs some doing up and has no free wifi in the room, which should be a given these days, especially in Nth America. All this said, a very pleasant stay in a good location with very […] friendly staff. Tips - make the 10min cab ride to The Marina area for loads of cool restaurants and bars. Tipsy Pig is a good start. Lisez la suite
"Huntinton on top of the hill in SF"
We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and our room larger than we expected. We took advantage of the free access to Nob Hill Spa and it proved the perfect solution to our day-long treks up and down those SF hills. We particularly appreciated the turndown service, with the bottled water and sleep-related quote - […] really nice touch. Lisez la suite
"Most wonderful Hotel in San Fran..."
Best kept secret.... afraid to tell as I want there always to be a room for me..... but need to share an experience so lovely.... enjoy!:)
Excellent in every respect. Great location.
"Lovely old hotel"
This is a beautiful old hotel .... the bathrooms have been redone and there is a large flat screen tv but the rooms are old. It is lovely but not modern. The parking valet service leaves much to be desired ... extremely slow ... even when called in advance. Restaurant is beautiful and there is great live music in the bar each night. The fresh flowers […] are exquisite in the lobby though there were none in the room as had been advertised on hotels.com's site. Lisez la suite
"The Huntington Hotel in SF"
I was amazed at how large the room was. This used to be an apartment building before conversion to a hotel - so there was a sitting area and wet bar, along with a small refrigerator. Staff was very nice. The views were amazing and it was quiet! Nothing like anyplace I've ever stayed in SF. I look forward to returning for a longer stay.
"Hotel Huntington, not worth your money"
The hotel is beautiful and has classy charm, but is in dire need of some up-grades. The beds in the room were old spring beds, that I could feel the springs popping underneath me - very uncomfortable. While not totally necessary, the T.V.s were really old and a bit of an eyesore in such a pretty room. As for the service of the hotel, the concierge and […] front desk were really polite and helpful, but when I called to order room service at 9:59, they told me they were closed and stopped serving at 10:00. I feel that for the price of the hotel and the standard that they are trying to achieve, they could have accommodated one more order (their kitchen remains open to serve bar guests down stairs, so it wasn't like it would have been a huge inconvenience). Also I ordered a beverage from a server in the spa area which took 35 minutes to be delivered, this could have been a fluke but I still felt like it was worth mentioning. Lisez la suite

"Beautiful hotel with "Amazing" service !!!"
This hotel is located in the Nob Hill area and it is close to a variety of attractions such as China Town, Market street, the Financial District, etc. The Nob Hill Spa is wonderful. So relaxing and access to the spa was included in the price of my room. Service provided at this hotel and spa is efficient, professional, and accommodating. The hotel is […] "a bit" dated but I think that is the charm of this hotel and it's location (Old San Francisco) with a "twist" so-to-speak. The spa is very modern. There were some issues with the elavator during my stay but maintaince was promptly called and service restored. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Lisez la suite

"Classic old hotel with a family feel"
A solid hotel with large rooms and a Victorian era feel. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Modest sized so that it has spa services, a restaurant, and other amenities, but small and warm. A different feel than the grandiosity of the nearby Fairmont for example. This is the choice for an intimate old hotel.
"Great Huntington Hotel Service"
I always love to stay at the Huntington, The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the service is great. Also the spa is incredible. The neighborhood is lovely and safe and there is a beautiful park just across the street.

"The Huntington Hotel SF - a warm gem"
The Huntington Hotel is a well located hotel in San Francisco with personality and exceptional staff. A treat of an experience.
This is not a review but an observation. Room 305 was a rather dated (as in 1980) spartan presentation. I was so unpleasantly surprised after seeing the Lobby. The bathroom was unacceptable. There was a huge space with no place to put essentials like toiletries. There was a pedestal sink with no space. There was one cheap wicker two drawer table (think […] Cost Plus). No table no shelves nothing. The hotel soap and shampoo dominated the top of the table and had to be moved by me to the other room to set my things down. Not to mean spirited here but I have stayed in way cheaper places that had bathrooms with more to offer. There was a rediculously small pedistal sink that looked like it was coming apart underneath. The shower had a shower head that was only four (4) feet above the tub. Perfect for a midget. The Huntington should be capable of better than this. This room was a perfect example of a place that no Hotel management has ever visited or it would have been updated by now. If I had paid your rack rate, I would have been furious. Since I paid a low internet rate I tolerated it but would not come back. Lisez la suite
"Good sleep and check out room"
The location of this hotel is superb and the surrounding neighbor consists of creme de la creme of the city. However, the hotel needs SERIOUS updating especially when it comes to its miserable bathrooms. The tiles are old and cracked, dingy caulkings, old cabinets, sinks, and tubs. The heater is very old and it's either hot or cold - no in between. […] The mattress is not comfortable and they don't give you enough cushioning. The in-room fridge is empty and I'm assuming they want you to stock it with your own drinks? If you're there to sleep and will be out most of the day Lisez la suite
"An exceptional hotel"
From the moment you arrive at the hotel you are treated with courtesy and respect. You are constantly being asked if there is something the staff can do for you. The restaurant, the Big Four, is superb and not overpriced for the quality of the cuisine and service. Highly recommend.
"Will Stay Here Again and Again"
My husband and I were getting a night away from the kids and splurged a little on the quality of hotel, and I'm so glad we picked The Huntington. The staff are awesome...the bell hop was very welcoming and let us in on a tip that if we weren't going to need our car, to use the parking garage across the street (at Grace Cathedral) and save $12 (which […] we did) instead of using the hotel's valet. We wanted some yummy Thai food and got it at the concierge's suggestion we try Arroi just down the street and around the corner. The room was lovely; comfy bed, plenty of pillows, L'Occitane toiletries, robes, flat screen tv, fairly roomy...and what a beautiful building. So nice to stay in a hotel with some history and character instead of a generic chain. We didn't eat in the restaurant itself, but had room service in the morning and it was divine. We also didn't use the spa or pool, but it looks like we missed out. We'll be back. Lisez la suite
"The Huntington Hotel in San Francisco"
We had a wonderful 2 night stay. The reviews we had read online prior to booking proved to be correct! All staff very helpful and friendly, especially the various doormen who gave us invaluable info of the local area and advice on places to see, eat at and best travel options. When they say top of the hill they are not kidding the walk home certainly […] burns off any excess calories consumed during the evening. If walking is not your thing the cable car is a fun option. A plus for us was being able to return on our final day after a tiring day out and enjoy the spa facilities to freshen up before our 14 hour flight home even though we had checked out earlier in the day. Location is great, central and relatively quiet, room lovely but not roomy. Bathroom newly renovated. We did not eat at there but at various great eating spots nearby. Enjoyed the history of the place. Lisez la suite
"The Hotel Huntington on Nob Hill in San Francisco"
The Hotel Huntington is a terrific luxury hotel! Historic appeal, great location, updated facilities. Our stay was enhanced by the efficient and attentive staff, the well appointed room and the location. Front door views of Grace Cathedral and easy access to top spots near Nob Hill, Union Square and Union Street. Can't wait to return for longer to enjoy […] the spa facility and enjoy all San Francisco has to explore. Lisez la suite

"The Huntington Needs Some Serious Updating"
The Huntington Hotel is one of four hotels on Nob Hill. The location is really great. The hotel lobby and restaurant/bar are really beautiful and old-school. They have been nicely maintained and decorated. The bar, in particular, is really cozy, with wood panneling and piano until 11:30 on weekends. I can only speak about our room, Number 611, but […] this is where the Huntington fell short. The room really needed to be updated. It looked nothing like the rooms shown on the Huntington website. The comforter was a granny-style floral pattern, and the walls were so bare that it felt a bit institutional. Most importantly, the mattress was either very old, or very low quality. Whenever I moved, I could feel the coils, and whenever my boyfriend moved, I could literally hear the squeak of the coils. I suspect that the mattress is just very old, but it is definitely time to replace. My only other observation is that there was no tub in the bathroom. This was not a big deal, and I'm sure that space is tight in all the old SF hotels. The most important thing to me is cleanliness, and the Huntington was clean. I would stay again for the right price, but I would be pleased to hear that management had taken care of the mattress situation. An old mattress really isn't acceptable these days. Lisez la suite
"Simply THE BEST"
The Hotel Huntington is a class act from start to finish, and the superior location atop Nob Hill is unrivaled. Nice that access to spa is included for ALL hotel guests, without an extra fee. Staff is professional, kind, and efficient.
"The Huntington Hotel & Nob Hill Spa- San Francisco"
Gorgeous, gorgeous hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. It was our honeymoon and they gave us an upgrade to a deluxe room! Absolutely beautiful hotel and the area in San Fran was just beautiful too. We wandered down to Fisherman's Wharf, but honestly it was so run down and trashy (literally), we headed back to relax at our hotel instead. […] The neighborhood was much more inviting and nice to look at than the more touristy areas. Lisez la suite
"Quaint, Good service, stale property"
The hotel is in a great location, quaint and friendly staff. However, it is a bit stale and outside of your own room, it doesn't have a proper area to lounge or work during the day. It would be nice if they kept the bar /lounge open during the day as a place to come and relax.
"Huntington Hotel in San Francisco - great staff"
My daughter and I stayed at the Huntington on Nob Hill for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is lovely and not a convention hotel atmosphere. It is a family owned hotel, is smaller than other 4 or 5 star hotels but has all of the amenities you could want. The food is wonderful - the location is easy - a cable car away from most places. […] What we most enjoyed was a professional, friendly, helpful staff - starting with Albert the doorman. We highly recommend the Huntington. Lisez la suite
"The Huntington could be great - the spa is amazing"
The hotel is in a great part of SF. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the valet who took our car and helped us in. Then the experience when downhill. We were informed that the room we reserved was a queen instead of the king we actually reserved. We were told the only king room available was one next to the elevator. I appreciated his candor but […] was not prepared for the noise an old elevator directly on the other side of a wall could make. It kept us awake all night. The room itself was neat and clean with a great view, but it was not worth the price of not sleeping. When checking out, we asked for our car to be brought up. We waited for over 20 min. then my husband went out to see what was going on. They claimed they had come in to the lobby two times when the car was ready and since no one claimed it, they sent it back. We were sitting directly in the middle of the lobby the entire time watching the door and no one came in to announce the car. He apologized by saying we must have not heard him and it was very busy. While we were waiting, we observed a bellman tell two different people on two different occasions 'I don't know what to tell you.' Once was in response to another man that had been waiting for over 20 min for his car and the other time was when a woman who had been waiting for over 5 min for the elevator asked if it was working. Neither question prompted the man to investigate, just say 'I don't know what to tell you' and walk away. I was shocked that someone working in a customer service role in what was supposed to be a great hotel thought that was an appropriate response to valid questions. When the man with the missing car approached the desk, the woman working there basically said the same thing to him. On the positive side, I had a treatment in Nob Hill Spa and it was outstanding. Friendly staff, beautiful facilities and relaxing atmosphere. Lisez la suite

"My best hotel experience."
We were upgraded to a luxury suite. Service was exceptional. My best hotel experience. Beautiful, classic room. Our friends who stayed down the street at the Mark Hopkins were disappointed by comparison. We got a great rate, too. They were up-sold to a bigger room. We were treated like kings.
"The Huntington Hotel is an Experience!"
We have always loved the Huntington as service is impeccable and the hotel is absolutely beautiful! It is a piece of San Francisco history. The doormen and porters are polite and full of smiles. Our room was wonderful with a great view of our magnificent City. It was stylishly classic and comfortable. We had cocktails and dinner at the Big Four restaurant […] for Wild Game week and it was delicious! You can't go wrong with the bartender Ty, or the generous Maitre'ds Dean and Simon! And our server Dennis (who we've had before) is spot on! We love this restaurant, get excellent service and the food is amazing. You cannot go wrong in this hotel or it's restaurant and I highly recommend it for anyone who would like a first class, relaxing experience atop San Francisco's Nob Hill. It was lovely! Thank you! "Huntington Hotel in San Francisco"
We love this hotel. We try and stay here whenever we are in San Francisco. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and is very attentive to all our needs. Rooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean. And the Big Four Restaurant is one of our favorites...very clubby and comfortable.
2 blocks from san fran trolley--fantastic dining room --- breakfast and dinner presentation and quality much better than exppected. Best eggs Benedict I've ever had. Chicken pot pie a must have
"The humntington"
This old hotel has so much potential but it is too outdated for the price. And even if the hotel was updated the service was hideously bad.
"Restaurant/Bar"
The food and service at the integrated restaurant and bar was fantastic. The menu was innovative and the food was fantastic. Lots of nightlife for a Tuesday night with live piano and fun people watching.

"Wonderful"
We had a wonderful room. The staff was friendly and responsive. Can't beat location. An exceptional value. warm, charming.
"Huntington Hotel- great central location/ service"
When we arrived to check in we were pleasantly surprised to find out we had been upgraded to a suite. The room was spacious and clean. The views of S.F. from the windows were great. We also enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The waiters made you feel at home. Overall excellent experience. We will be back.
room was very small. I figured it was because I had made my reservation online. The next day I told the Front Desk that I was dissapointed in my room. They immediately moved me to a room that was twice the size and with a beautiful view of the park. They were very fast without question in making me satisfied.
"The Huntington Hotel - Never again."
To start, I could not access the internet from the minute I entered the room - when I called to have the issue resolved, no one had answers, and the only 'manager' on duty was the concierge who was unable to help in the matter - instead of utilizing the Hotel's wireless service I used my phone as a port of access to the internet for the duration of […] my stay. - Very disappointing. The following day I awoke at 5:15am to get my day started with emails, etc. I called to order breakfast but was unable to order because the kitchen did not open until 6:00am. Seeing as it was 5:45am and beginning at 6:00am I would be partaking in back-to-back conference calls, I asked if I could just leave my breakfast order with the front desk and have them bring it to me when the kitchen was open - They were unable to comply with my request and I went without anything to eat until my calls were through at 10:30am. - Once again, very disappointing. Finally, when I asked if my room could be cleaned while I was going to be out - as I would be conducting business (calls, etc) and working out of my hotel room as if it were my home office for the duration of the day - my request was denied as the 'hotel cleaning staff is only available between the hours of 2:00pm and 4:00pm' I felt I was working around their schedule during the entire stay, and it was just overall very disappointing. I will never stay here again, nor will I recommend it to my colleagues or friends. Lisez la suite
"The Huntington in San Francisco"
This hotel more than met our expectations on our recent vacation. The location is central, the service and attention to detail is wonderful, and the hotel itself has aged beautifully.
