"MAYFIELD INN AND SUITES A EDMONTON"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 27 oct. 2011

"Perfect for our needs"
We had two rooms right next to each other, one big and one small but even the small room was huge. The walls were very sound proof and the kitchen well stocked. Our only complaint was that we could not get one of the rooms to cool off; it was scorching. The elevators were a bit slow and tiny but a small price for a great downtown location. Also, the […] clearance in the parking garage was only 6 feet- fairly difficult to accommadate a truck. Totally plan on staying here again. Lisez la suite

I need a room that would accomodate 2 adults and 3 children. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and comfort of the room. More than what I expected. The continental breakfast was limited. The staff were amazing.
"alberta inn and suits edmonton"
We thought they where very accomadating with the number of children we had. The free breakfest was a plus. The parking kind of sucks and the pool is not good for younger kids. All and all we had a great stay.

I booked a queen room but apparently doubles are all they have, do they don't have the rooms they advertise, the elevators kept taking me to the wrong floor and sometimes the doors wouldn't open plus the heat controls need upgrading! The room was clean and spcious and close to my appointments.
"Horrible location"
Seen prostitutes out the window all night and was very scary! Wild never want to stay here ever again! Hotel staff was very nice, just bad area.
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel"
Excellent stay as always. Would love it if they upgraded the beds to a pillow top.
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta"
Close to the shaw conference center for the concert. And just a short drive to West Edmonton Mall.
it was good and spacious
"Great guest service but an older building"
The guest service was great but the hotel is definetly seen its day. The gym is something to be desired as are the beds. The hotel was clean and welcoming but as I said, very dated and dark.
"Alberta place suites hotel"
Decent stay. Clean rooms. Would stay again.
"Nice hotel, good value"
We always stay at this hotel for a number of reasons. Its clean, reasonably priced, close to where we always go plus free indoor parking (a welcome bonus esp. during winter). The breakfast is simple but adequate most of the time and the ladies looking after it are nice and friendly. The kitchen in the room is always spotless. It has everything one would […] need without paying top dollar. I'm sure to return and always recommend it. Lisez la suite
"For an older place, very well kept - BIG rooms"
Basically it's an apartment hotel, very spacious. Furniture and hotel itself is old, but they're doing as well as they can to maintain it. Very clean. Excellent service - is obvious the staff want you to enjoy your stay. Only 1 minor drawback... advertised as having a fitness centre, but it's only treadmills... no weights or resistance equipment (disappointed […] since this was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel... advertisement wasn't specific enough and I didn't ask first). Will definitely stay here again. Lisez la suite
Iv stayed in many hotels in my travels, this was the best iv ever had the privilege of spending time in,,it was wonderful, ,

"Alberta Place Suite Hotel"
For the price value this hotel is great and affordable. The bathroom is super clean and which is the most important for me. Oh the hot water tap is instant, love that and hot shower. There's a Sobey's a block out for groceries instead of eating out to save on $$. Two blocks for Centre Mall. LRT stop access on the corner. Free parking for guest. The […] continental breakfast was alright, not the best I've had. The staff we're friendly but for one old grumpy lady (graveyard shift). Overall my stay my pleasant, close to various shops and public transit. Lisez la suite
"Was What I Needed"
Not the best hotel I've ever stayed in...but it was right downtown where I needed to be and the price was right. Room was clean and staff was friendly, everything was a little dated but overall it was what I needed for my visit.
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel - Edmonton"
The hotel room was very clean. Kudos to the housekeepers. The front desk staff was not friendly. Upon registration I asked about the $250 preauthorization charge when I have paid with Hotel.com. The lady sternly looked at me and said it's a preauthoriation charge. When I booked with another 3 star hotel the preauth was just $100. She also did not give […] me the right number of breakfast coupons and was not happy to give me an additional one. When I checked out I asked the (another staff) front desk to shred my preauth stub. She refused to and said that the system will take care of it. That got me worried. I also asked for a late check out (an hour later). The front desk agreed but when I went back to the hotel room to pick up my luggage my key had expired. This is the second time this has happened in the last 2 stays I had in this hotel. They don't update the key's expiration even if you have requested for a late check out right from the start. Lisez la suite
"Nice...but..."
I really enjoyed my stay at Alberta suites. It was clean and the room was large enough for myself and my small family. I enjoyed having a kitchen at my disposal so I didn't have to eat out. The parking issue was a huge nightmare though. We drive a truck, and there are 5 or 6 spaces only for oversized vehicles. The amount of small cars that parked in […] these spaces made it very difficult to be able to park. Not to mention the fact that there was no more than 1 inch clearance from the roof of the truck to the ceiling. The continental breakfast NEEDS FRUIT!!! all they had was cereal and toast and a few muffins. Hardly a satisfying breakfast. Good thing We had a kitchen, The elevators were very slow... VERY!!! and they stunk like cigarette smoke. The pool deck is so dangerously slippery, I was afraid for my son slipping as I slipped numerous times just walking carefully. Other than these probems Lisez la suite
"Good and quick booking"
For a booking at a downtown Edmonton hotel, I was fairly impressed at the accommodations for the price and short time I had to book this. Had work-related business in downtown Edmonton and this was convenient. Room came with free private parking.
Room looked clean but smelled musty, old and dingy. TV was small, hallways looked like a great place to shoot a movie for rundown hotels and the front desk people looked like they were startled from what they were doing and were about as knowledgeable about the area as a Hollywood star is about the tar sands.
"Alberta Place Hotel & Suites"
It was a Beautiful Place & we loved the view of the Tall Buildings around us. It was AWESOME. Would recommand this Hotel to anyone . Brenda, George & Brady
"Good option for kitchen"
Good location downtown - two blocks from major grocery store. Room had some recent renovations, but still some older stuff remained. Surprisingly large room. Friendly staff. Room could have smelled fresher, but it was quite clean. Would stay here again.
"Solid value for the price"
Big room and it was clean. Had everything we needed and for the price it was great. Would stay there again.
"No Frills"
This is a perfect no frills hotel. Rooms are decent, love the convenience of a full kitchen. Pool is decent, weight room too. Only issue was the breakfast (could have offered more choices for a continental breakfast).
"Get what you pay for"
Rooms were really big with small kitchenette - that is the best thing that can be said. Very little time spent in the hotel as we were attending Folk Fest, so location was perfect. Bedding was awful and room was dated. We were on the pet floor so that we could get adjoining rooms - one room had bad smell and we had to frebreeze it. A few other minor […] repairs were needed - window out of track causing noise when windy, burned out lightbulbs, etc. The breakfast that was included was not good - went to Tim's instead. Would only recommend to people with very low budget and low expectations. Lisez la suite
Room was clean and huge, separate bedroom With full sized queen, beautiful view. Pools was clean and well maintained. I was highly impressed and will be back.
"NOT GREAT BUT O.K."
This hotel is older. It has had a few upgrades but it shows its age. Poor continental breakfast. Safety problem for children as the windows fully open with low ledge, no screen. Kitchenette is good for those who would use it. Location is good for downtown. Walls are paper thin. There's better value for the money nearby.
"A nice place for budget travellers"
Nice old but well located hotel, rooms were nice, kitchen was well equipped, daily house keeping.spacious rooms. swimming pool was nice. the only trouble we has was that we booked two rooms and they were on different floors. over all it was a good experience . definately would stay there again.
room was pretty decent for the price paid. room was a suite. could use a little modernization but overall for price we were happy

"Alberta Place Suite Hotel"
Clean room with and friendly, helpful staff. They were prepared by having sheets with directions to get to the U2 concert. Breakfast was fine to grab a coffee and a snack. I would go back again to stay here. Thank you!
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel - never again"
The lobby looked nice, but when we got to our room it looked dated and very used. Looked clean though. Beds were uncomfortable and seemed more like a double than a queen. Couldn't get hot water in shower, or any water pressure. Switched rooms for the next night, the room was only slightly better --at least the shower was hot. The sink in the bathroom […] backed up and wouldn't drain, then water started leaking through the ceiling over the bathtub *gross*. The continental breakfast was pathetic: cold cereal, muffins, toast and bagels. No fruit or protein. At least the staff were friendly. Lisez la suite
"Dated but clean"
The building is a converted apartment building. It's located close to Jasper Avenue (Main Drag), with bars, restaurants and transit close by. The room/suite was quite large, but chopped up with too many hallways. The decor was definitely mid-70's with a bit of late 80's thrown in. The linens were clean and the water pressure in the shower was heavenly. […] The bed seemed comfortable initially but my joints all fell asleep during the night and I woke up in some pain. Our bedroom was on an outside wall so separated from the neighbours, but we could easily hear them when we were in the living room. With parking and a continental breakfast included in the room rate, it was definitely good value for the money. Lisez la suite

"Bad experience"
There was no parking. We had to park in an empty lot by a church and they gave you a pass but you had to renew it each day. Their internet wasn't working so we couln't connect to their wirless internet and they didn't know what was wrong. The television was blurry and the room was brutally hot all night. Not a good location either.
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel"
It's not overly fancy but it's good value for the money. Re: Condition or maintenance of the hotel: The hotel was undergoing rennovations at the time we were there so some areas weren't completed yet.
"Alberta Place Suite Hotel"
I was told this hotel would be great for kids, it has a pool and a kitchenette in the rooms. The kitchen was great and we were able to save a couple bucks on eating out. The pool was 5 feet all around so it was over the heads of my kids. The hotel staff was very nice. My biggest problem had to be that the hotel uses a single pipe heating system. […] So there is only an option for heat or air conditioning in the entire building. This would be fine in the winter or the summer but in the spring it meant the room was 25 degrees Celsius. It was unbearable for sleeping or even just sitting around the room. I wouldn't recommend unless you are on a serious budget but still there are better options for only a few bucks more. Lisez la suite
"Had to find altenate breakfast"
I guesse the only complaint i have is the breakfast, I have stayed in many hotels that sever breakfast but by far unfutuately this was the worst. They only had toast and cerial of which i eat nither some fruit would have been nice.
"Affordable Suite in Downtown Place!"
My family and I didn't know much about Edmonton and so we thought of staying 1 night in Downtown Area. Alberta Place Suite Hotel is the nice spot for you to see the city of Edmonton. Very accessible via Jasper Avenue. Although the room is a bit old but I like it. It is so roomy for 2 adults and 2 kids. I think even a member of 6 can still fit in. It's […] a suite so you know that there are kitchen, dining table, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. And if you want to wash your clothes, they have available washing and dryer at the 5th floor. Everything are there. What I don't like is the parking. I am not used to go to a parking space like that. Well, what do you expect! It's an old building. I know suite hotel like that when I went to Calgary. OVERALL: I like it! Lisez la suite
"hotel close to downtown"
no parking at front of the building most of the time. Hard to unload but like the access to kitchen in room.
