My business stay was only for one night at this location. I did not check in until 10:30pm as I travel for work and drive the east coast. I would have to say that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the staff at this hotel. I was woke up at 2:15am and again at 3:00am, due to the couple in the room next to me singing, arguing and banging. I notified the […] front desk twice and they stated they would look into it but there was nothing they could do. I asked to be moved and the gentleman told me he would see what was available and get back to me. He never did!! I finally got an hour sleep and they were at it again. So I would have to say they are unprofessional and that I would have moved in the middle of the night just to get a few hours of rest, if the clerk at the front desk cared about my stay, but he did not have the decency to get back to me. Good stopover on the way south from Boston. I appreciated that there was a restaurant on site and that they provided van transportation service.

Room was small but view of water was great. People partying until 3 am was not good..could hear through walls and in hallway.

Very nice hotel. Good service. Need a larger parking lot.

Great. Stayed there several times and will stay there again.

I was very disappointed by the hotel. On the website, it looked quite nice but the location and the entrance are really ugly. Also, the pictures I had seen showed the hotel being right next to the river but our room was facing the highway and the continuous sound of cars made sleeping very unpleasant. One of the two magnetic cards to open our room didn't […] work, the internet connection didn't work either (it was later fixed by calling the IT dept.) the phone didn't work and we couldn't call room service (we ended up calling the operator and getting them to connect us), etc. It would ALL be fine if we hadn't paid so much. I loved the hotel shuttle which would drive hotel guests to/from anywhere in Providence for a very reasonable fee. The bathroom could have used a bit of updating, but overall the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and the restaurant staff was very attentive. I'd definitely stay there again.

bad location- we needed a car to get around the city. its not that centrally located unlike the other hotels we stayed in Rhode Island. staff- the staff were not helpful at all. we didn't feel as welcome. they were "cold". hotel room- very small for four people toiletries- they only give for 2 people even if we paid for four people. very stingy! no […] complimentary water everyday. just the first day internet speed- very fast Lisez la suite

The Wyndham is very clean and relatively new renovations make it quite comfortable. The location is very close to downtown and College Hill and the free parking is a plus

Although the location of this hotel is not ideal (a bit far from downtown Providence as well as a mile away from Brown U), everything else was excellent. The shuttle service provided by the hotel for $5 a person (per day) was convenient, and I have no complaints about the room or the comfort: clean, cozy, and welcoming. My daughter lives just over the bridge in East Providence, so this property is SUPER convenient for me, but it would also be for anyone as it has super fast access to I-195 just off of I-95 - so the location is really quite good. The room was fine, although the bed was just a bit hard for my taste. My wife loved it though. Not very much counter space […] in the bathroom, which is a pet peeve of mine. We stayed at the Biltmore last visit and vowed never to say there again because of NO counter space in the bath, so compared to the Biltmore, this property had a lot of space, but still not much. The shower head was great and the water pressure was fine - AND the water temperature didn't vacillate, which I appreciate. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and ordered room service one evening - both were fine, albeit a bit on the slow side. There was only one waitress working in the restaurant, and she's the same person who brings the room service up. It all taste fine though, even though it was a bit slow. In fact - the clam chowder was excellent! One small complaint I have - and I admit, it's a tiny thing - but we used up our bath soap after our first three days, and the maid never replaced it. We just used the face soap that was by the sink, and I even told the maid (who didn't speak good English) about us needing some bath soap, but for the last two days we just used the face soap. It's a little thing, but with so many properties available, it's things like this that either bring us back or convince us to try another property. The staff was very pleasant, just not enough of them. Overall, we did like this property and will most likely stay here again on our next visit in a few months. Lisez la suite

The hotel rooms were large and very clean. Would have liked to have had a small fridge to chill waters in and also the sleep number bed was not working properly.

I had a fabulous night's sleep. The beds (sleep beds) were incredibly comfortable and my room -- which faced the water - was very quiet. The downside to the hotel is that it is on the opposite side of I-95 from College Hill, so it feels deserted and the outside is ugly. Great location if you are visiting Brown University. Walking distance to Thayer Street and College Hill plus Free Parking - a nightly savings of $20-$25 over hotels in downtown Providence. It may not be the Ritz or the Four Seasons but the price is right!

We've stayed at several Providence Hotels and this was a good value. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Exercise room aboe average for this size hotel. Free parking. Less than 10 min drive from Brown. Easy on/off to get to I-195. I'll stay here again.

Hotel was nice but the freeway side is noisy. Excersise room was clean and well maintained.

I had been away from Providence, where I grew up, for a long time. We read the reviews and chose to stay at Wyndham Garden while visiting my sister and her sons. We chose a room on the harbor side, and the view was great. From our room we could see St. Michael's Church in South Providence, my old neighborhood. We were never concerned about safety or […] the part of town where the hotel was located. The desk clerk when we checked in gave us coupons for Hemenway's, a great seafood restaurant in town. The Wyndham is the first hotel in Providence where we didn't have to pay parking. The ease of walking out the door and jumping into the car, compared to waiting for a valet to retrieve the car was terrific. However, I would be hesitant to stay there without a car. There are restaurants in walking distance, but the onsite food is a vending machine only, […] once the restaurant closes after breakfast and after dinner. There is no room service either. Pros: great price for Providence. Get a harbor facing room. Other rooms face a highway NOT a garden. Free parking and WiFi. Front desk was helpful when we realized we forgot to pack toothbrushes--they provided free replacements. Cons: shower broken so no hot water--they did try to fix and offered to move us but it was so late at night it just wasn't […] worth repacking for just one night. Toilet ran constantly. Not very friendly checking in, but I imagine the late hour takes us a bit off our game. I was forgiving and just wanted to sleep. Unfortunately, the bed didn't really help much. My son took the modern Sleep Number and I got the one that made me feel like I was sleeping in a coffin. The good news is that I know I won't be buying this type of bed in the […] future. My biggest complaint is on maid service and their attempt to take care of the situation. Sometimes this is a forgotten service, but when I stay more than one night it is often good to get the room cleaned and fresh towels. Out of the room from 8A to 1P and the cleaning fairy didn't magically appear. Leaving again at around 2P and mentioning it to the desk didn't seem to do the trick. Returning around 5P and leaving at 6P, mentioning it again to the desk and clicking my heals 3 times didn't work. I ended up just asking for some towels that were thrown into the room while out for dinner. I forgive 1 forgetful action, not 3. This hotel is much better now that it is under new management, and it was perfectly fine before that. It could still use some new sheets and towels, but i did not see any melted lamp shades, torn bedspreads or holes in the carpet as I did under the previous management. If you stay on the front side of the hotel you will be up all night! The highway traffic is soooo loud!

Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel over my 3 day stay. Though I gave half of my ratings a "4", I still would rate this hotel a "5" overall. The staff was super nice and helpful in all of interactions with them. Checking in was a breeze and hassle free. Every waitress I interacted with was nice and was attentive to all of my needs. Also, the front desk staff provided me with menus when I needed assistance with knowing what food spots were in the neighborhood. Everything I rated with a "4" dealt only with the hotel itself. I gave a "4" on the hotel maintenance only because the shower walls in my bathroom were cracked. I also gave the same score for comfort of my room because I was provided with an adjustable tempurpedic mattress that seemed to not be functioning. This caused one side of the bed to feel completely different from the other side of the bed. I probably could have gotten this fixed but never got around to it. The rest of the hotel was beautiful and well maintained, but not located anywhere I could go in walking distance during the winter. Downtown Providence was very accessible and close by car, though. Overall I would give this hotel a score of "5" because the staff was great, the hotel was nice, and I just had a nice and comfortable stay there in between when I was working. When we visit our family in RI we often stay at the Wyndam. It location and price make it a great choice.

This Wyndham Garden hotel exceeded my expectations. The front desk employee was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the view of the city at sunset was beautiful. We had a city view room with a king bed on the 5th floor. It had a Sleepnumber bed, toiletries by Bath & Body Works and a pod coffee maker in the room. The room was comfortable but the vicinity to the highway made it a quite noisy through the night and into the early morning. I would choose to stay on the opposite side of the hotel next time.

A really lovely hotel experience. Clean, comfortable rooms. Courteous staff. The Park At Your Own Risk signs were a little concerning. There aren't any businesses in walking distance. Not even a gas station. So if you don't have a car (that you're willing to park at your own risk), it might not be for you.

Very clean and well priced. I will stay here again. Not in walking distance to downtown Providence but less expensive than downtown hotels and free parking. Well priced breakfast.

This isn't really a reveiw, but there was no where else to explain the low rating I gave for room comfort. THe hotel and the staff were lovely. The rooms and lobby have obviously been recently re-furbished. Everything was clean and in good repair. In addition, the room had a lovely view overlooking India Point Park and the Bay. The reason for our […] stay was a visit we were paying to a relative on Pitman Street and the hotel could not have been more convenienty located. For this reason alone, I am sure I will be staying there on future visits. My only complaint is that I was awaked continually through the night by the sound of the heat blower cycling on. I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel over the New Year's weekend. One major reason that I chose this hotel was because they had free parking and a shuttle to the downtown Providence area. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was informed that the shuttle had been in an accident the week prior so no shuttle service was available. The room itself was […] very small and the heating unit was very loud. We had to turn it off to sleep because it would cycle on and off and wake us up each time. Also, while I understand that New Year's Eve is a night that is busy and loud, I was shocked at the number of hotel guests that seemed to be in the 18 - 25 year age range that were piling more than 4 people in their room. At 2am the hotel sounded like my dorm at UMass Amherst sounded when I was in school! Separate from this massive amount of noise from inconsiderate guests,there was an issue with a car alarm that had been going off for over an hour. When I went downstairs to ask about it, I was met with one harried staff person who couldn't keep up with answering the phone, let alone answer my question about the alarm. Now I know that the alarm was not something within the hotel's control, but being grossly understaffed on such a busy night is. The lobby was chaotic at 2 o'clock in the morning! Lisez la suite

I enjoyed my short stay at this hotel. The rate was reasonable and the stay was very nice. Good service at the bar and restaurant on the site and the desk people were very friendly and helpful. Far off the beaten path was the only negative. I enjoyed the free parking but downtown was not a hop skip nor a jump a way.

Have been coming to this location Christmas Eve and Christmas night to visit family for over 20 years now. We stay here because it is off the beaten path, has free parking, and overlooks the unbeautiful but interesting Port of Providence. This is about the 4th ownership since we have been coming - now a Wyndham. When Raddison FIRST took over, they did […] a great job refurbishing the rooms and beds. That was years ago. In the 6 months since taking over, Wyndham has made no improvements except recarpet. The hotel is still noisy with thin walls - not very pleasent when the couple next to you is fighting Christmas morning. This however will be our last time staying here. My husband went down for breakfast Christmas morning and ordered Eggs benedict. It came with out the Canadian bacon and was cold. When he asked about the Canadian bacon, the waitress seemed suprised, went to the cook, anaad came back to inform him that they were out of it. He was then told not to worry, that the (cold) meal was on the house. He politely told the watress (who has been serving him every Christmas morning for several years now), that he wasn't looking for a free meal, he was looking for a hearty, hot meal with meat.. We question how much pride and quality is going on in this place if they couldn't even get a simple request right. How could that waitress bring that meal out without checking if it was right?
