"Hôtel branché à prix cassé !"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 30 avr. 2012

"Customer Review: La Jolla Shores Hotel"
I had lived in San Diego for multiple years and chose this hotel because of its beachfront location. The hotel room decor is a bit dated as compared to newer resorts. The kitchenette rooms are ideal if a hot plate, microvave, dishes, and fridge are desired. The restaurant is pricey and bland, but the wine selection is decent and the views are outstanding. […] Wait service staff was okay, but were busy amongst themselves, versus taking care of their customers. At one point, I had to wait for silverware while they finished their conservation (with manager) as to their alcohol limitations the night before - very unprofessional. Most staff was polite, but younger girl at the front desk was a bit rude, and unable to answer basic questions about the area. We were a little offended by her attitude. We expected better service from the staff. There is a little strip within walking distance of the hotel with a sushi joint, Italian restaurant, and a sandwich shop. Their is also a little market for snacks, and a couple of affordable beach shops. Surf Diva Surf School, and Beach/Kayak Excursion storefront are there too. La Jolla Village and Cove area are too far to walk, but within a short drive. Parking rates are a bit high at hotel, and troublesome to find down in the village. Want a real treat? Try cliffs at nearby Glider Port (10000 Block Torrey Pines) for a dramatic and unforgettable view of ocean. These bluffs are set hundreds of feet above black beach, where the views are the best in all of San Diego. Have fun! Lisez la suite

This hotel sit right on the board walk. Plenty of little shops and great places to eat. Great little resort town.

If you surf great location, not much else around shops/restaurants shut by 9pm. You are paying for the location. Walls and floors not much sound proofing if any? Desk staff were good, however stayed 3 nights room cleaned once.

"La Jolla Shores Inn is a beautiful hotel"
Awesome location, Great surrounding area. Very close to local attractions! I would highly recommend staying there.
"La Jolla Shores Hotel"
The overall satisfaction of our 3 night stay at this hotel is due to its location right on the beach. The rooms are expensive, the restaurant on site equally overpriced. It is high end dining. The pool is small and the hot tub seats about four comfortably. The lounge chairs around pool are great. The openness of the pool area and courtyard is nice. […] Very nice tile and trees etc. You have to pay for parking. Boo. The rooms are dated though ours had a flat screen. The whole building is older but in good shape. Nice layout and a small but adequate workout room. What you pay for is the view and the closeness of the ocean. It is a different experience to wake up on the beach, and to see the beach change as the tide comes in and out. You can watch the surfers from sun up to sun down. The scuba people disappear and reappear and the kayakkers come and go. It is a popular place for fitness seekers and people just going for a walk or exploring. We enjoyed our stay there with two teens. Too pricey to eat there but a good Mexican joint down the street got our business. You can get some great pictures of the sun going down and of marine life just to the south around the bend. The hotel is not family friendly, but it is friendly. Staff were great, room adequate, but the ocean and its allure made the stay a success. We'd return. Lisez la suite
"Not for the business traveler!"
This hotel looked fine walking in, but myself and a colleague found it to be not the greatest experience--so much so that we changed rooms after two nights! My main complaint would be the thinness of the walls. I was surrounded by families on both sides and could hear there conversations! They were up early, and if I had not been traveling for business […] would have been very annoyed at having to get up with them! My colleague also got room service one morning and put her tray outside afterwards--no one picked it up the entire day (AND NIGHT!) even after she asked the front desk clerk in the afternoon to take care of it. We switched over to La Estancia La Jolla and it is heaven!!!! Lisez la suite
"Older hotel but good location"
Pretty much a good location. Location was great. Hotel service was amazing but the hotel room itself is old and needs a good update. Overall location was worth the money.
"La Jolla Shores"
Had a great time...hotel staff was friendly, accomodating and just plain nice. As a single senior, traveling with a grandchild, felt very secure and safe, which is a must for me. Would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Restaurant and staff were also super!
"bad clearning service"
This hotel location is really great, and it was a nice stay. However, the cleaning service was disappointing. We found a used robe from previous customer behind the door. The shampoo was not placed or replaced, etc. Room cleaning should be improved in this hotel.
"Ideal beach location"
I've stayed at this hotel periodically over the past 30 years. The beach location is wonderful for a relaxing vacation, and the nearby shops and restaurants are a delight. While out of the city, it is still a quick drive into San Diego. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. It also has a wonderful on-sight restaurant.
"La Jolla Shores Hotel"
is a great location right on the beach! You pay for the location. Some of the rooms have been updated! I love this place!
My only complaint was that the room was not cleaned until mid-afternoon each day.
"La Jolla Shores"
Love the hotel. The location on the beach is amazing.
"La Jolla Shores Hotel"
Beautiful views and wonderful location. Very convenient. Friendly staff who are very warm and helpful. The pool was crowded at times as its not that large. We met several very nice regulars from California who stay at the hotel often. Its an older hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. Overall, we have a family of four with two preteen children and […] absolutely loved every minute of our stay. We look forward to returning. Lisez la suite
"Location, location, location"
We wanted a hotel in the San Diego area that was on the beach so we could listen to the crashing of the waves at night and that is exactly what we got! The location is amazing, with a beautiful and clean sandy beach. The beach amenities were very nice as well. The one drawback is that there were ants in the bathroom. Maintenance came out to spray but […] they were back the next morning. We live in an area that is an ant farm and I get that there's not much you can do. It has no reflection on the cleanliness of the person or place. However, it was a nuisance that I didn't like to have on my vacation. Lisez la suite
"La Jolla Shores Hotel-on the beach"
my room was clean and comfy. The beach was just down the steps from the property. There is a lovely restaurant on the property where you can watch the waves roll in while you enjoy delisious food.
"great!"
We got married at this hotel 2 yrs ago and it was AMAZING! Everyone was so happy and pleased with the service ,specially me the bride. The area is great. we had out rehearsal dinner at Piatti's..wonderful! Just a FYI if you have a young wedding party. everything closes at 10 pm.. So arrange to go into town. We just went back 2 yr later and the same […] high quality and we will be going back every year! Lisez la suite

"Great hotel"
Comfortable and most of all very clean. The housekeeping staff friendly and accomodating. Pool and restaurant area very inviting. One disappointment was the beach area, not super clean, lots of sea weed and couldn't locate the staff for beach chairs/umbrella which I will add was free of charge.
This is not a top notch hotel, the location however of course is. We had a great view from our room onto the pacific ocean. The hotel room is aged a little. Except for the ants in the bathroom it was clean. Maintenance took care of the ants immediately after we let them know. The manager offered us a free breakfast in the hotel's restaurant the next […] morning. However, when we got there they didn't have our name down. Uncomfortable and a bit embarrassing. There was a $14 dollars a night fee for parking. This was not advertised on hotels.com. Although not a lot, I hate unexpected fees when you are already paying a good amount for the room. I wonder if they were expecting us to arrive on our bicycles. Lisez la suite

"On the ocean"
My stay at La Jolla Shores was exactly what I was hoping for. My beachfront room was all glass doors and view just yards away from the beach and the power of the ocean. I had gone for solitude so did not use the hotel common areas, but all of the staff that I had interaction with were great. The room was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower […] was terrific. I'll definitely be back. Lisez la suite
"LA JOLLA SHORES HOTEL, NOT SO GREAT"
The La Jolla Shores Hotel is in a great location along Bthe beach but the hotel service was less then what I expected. The bathroom window had missing glass panes, the patio outside the room was dirty, and the room service was lowsy. If you plan on parking your car at the hotel, its $14/day!!! The Holiday Inn Express in San Diego had more sophisticated […] and updated rooms, for half the price, and they served you a free breakfast in the morning. The coffee in the room at the La Jolla Shores was terrible, so we went into their resturant to get a fresh cup and they charged us $9.00 for two styrafoam cups of coffee!!! Overall, the weather was beautiful and the hotel IS the only one right on the beach. But.... for as much as you pay for the room, you may be a bit disappointed. Lisez la suite

"La Jolla Shore Hotel"
the hotel is right on the beach, and La Jolla shores is the best beach in southern california. There is surfing, snorkeling, and kayaking all within walking distance. the beach is flat, so walking along the beach is great. i highly recommend this hotel.
"La Jolla Shores Hotel"
I'm originally from San Diego, so I have a pretty good idea where I want to be when we go there for a vacation. We usually stay in LJ village, but this time I wanted to be right on the beach - and this is RIGHT ON THE BEACH. They have towels (not very big ones) umbrella's chairs, boogie boards & more. There are tons of kayaks to rent/lessons, surf lessons, […] waves aren't too big for young kids. There's a boardwalk, grass, a couple bathrooms on the beach - several top notch restaurants within walking. I prefer 'The Shores" to La Jolla Village because there's not as much 'shopping' & distractions that I can pretty much do anywhere. You can walk to the Village from the shores, so you don't need a car - but you may want one to get to various tourist spots. I would love to stay there again if I can get the kind of rate that I did for this last stay. Otherwise I probably couldn't afford to stay there. Overall - I'd highly recommend this hotel. It is an older/beach hotel, so the rooms are not perfect. They are big & clean & even the cheap rooms have an ocean view - at least mine did. It would be my first choice over other options in the area. I've also stayed at La Valencia, which is wonderful too - but I think I like this location better. Happy trails.... Lisez la suite

The hotel was very nice and the views were wonderful, the beach access was great. There were fewer restaurants and shops than in other parts of La Jolla, but I found that refreshing and there was easy access to other areas.
"La Jolla Shores Hotel"
Right on the beach, playground for kids next door. Wonderful staff, a great experience. We'll be back.
"Sounds of the Ocean"
Getting the beach front rooms are well worth it. You are only steps from the beach. The hotel is only a couple blocks from a number of restaurants and shops. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the village of La Jolla. This hotel offers everything you would want in a beach front hotel.

"Great location and sea views"
Hotel's location was superb. Ocean-side views are excellent and you hear the waves at night lulling you to sleep. Restaurant is very good, and the bar, albeit abit pricey. Breakfast was additional to room costs which is always a shame when already paying alot for a room for the night. Very good restaurants walkable distance away. Some parts of the hotel […] could do with a face-lift/up-date, but otherwise all very nice. Reception staff very helpful when asked about restaurants nearby and recommendations etc. Lisez la suite

"NOT WORTH THE MONEY"
WELL OUR VACATION STARTED WITH A RUDE FRONT DESK MANAGER, WHO HELPED EVERYONE BUT MY FAMILY. THEN WHILE AT THE POOL THE POOL BOY PICKED UP A BRAND NEW SHIRT I JUST BOUGHT AND THREW IT IN WITH THE POOL TOWELS. NO ONE CARRED, AND FROM THERE IT WENT DOWN HILL, FROM THE RESTAURANT TO THE FRONT DESK. ONLY PERSON WHO WAS TRULY NICE WAS THE PERSON SETTING […] UP CHAIRS OUT BY THE OCEAN. ITS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR TIME, GO SOME WHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!! IM AMAZED ANYONE WOULD GO BACK, IF WE TREATED PEOPLE LIKE THIS IN VEGAS WE WOULD ALL BE FIRED... Lisez la suite
"Great Hotel, Right on the Beach"
This Hotel was great because it was right on the beach and it not too expensive (during the days that we stayed). They upgraded our room for free and thus we had an ocean view. It was awesome!
"Great Location and service"
This is a beautiful (courtyards/tile/ambience)hotel located on the beach of La Jolla Cove. We picked it so we would not have to deal with driving/parking on our beach vacation. It may not be upscale enough by some people's standards......the room was clean, but dated. (Though I heard there is also an updated section) Air conditioner seemed weak, but […] not enough that we asked to change rooms or have it looked at. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet (?11$ adults, 5$ kids)was decent with awesome views and upscale service, and menu options avail as well. Multiple food options in a short (less than 2 blocks) including the best Italian meal I have had in a long time to pizza and hamburgers. Small grocery store also in easy walking distance. Multiple beach supply rental/kayak tour shops also. This location and hotel were great for kids/family (8 yo and 10 yo)including my very picky eater son. Beach attendants will set you up with beach chairs and umbrellas at no extra charge! Wow does that make the beach more fun! That alone made me feel like I was at a resort and worth it! The pool was rather small/crowded. But my kids loved it. Pool towels readily available.) Parking was extra ?14$/day but worth it. We will stay here again. It is possible to arrive here and not use your car the whole time, unless you MUST go to any of the big local attractions such as the zoo. My husband and I thought it would be nice to go alone another time. But it was also very kid friendly. We went with the less expensive "courtyard view" rooms and were not disappointed. Best hotel view I have had in a long time! Be sure to walk north on the beach past the pier to see a animal preserve with tons of shore life (1000's of hermit crabs etc). My 10 yo dtr says sea kayaking was the best thing she ever did in her life! Waves are much more gentle and kid friendly here then other beaches I have been at in San Diego. I would rec without hesitation. If you are afraid La Jolla is too uptight Lisez la suite
"great location"
everyone was friendly and attentive-couldn't fault the staff at all. room service even put my sons teddy on his bed and folded his comfort blanket which I thought was a nice touch. okay the hotel is old and needs updated but it is clean and it is right on the beach. shops nearby including a few eating places. we even bought food and alcohol back […] to the hotel and ate out on the patio of our room by the pool-with no objections. the rooms on the ground floor can get a bit noisy at night but we found if we put on our air conditioner it helped to block any noise. ""Staycation" experience in La Jolla"
We were able to book this hotel at a really good rate through hotels.com. If I had paid full price I would have been disappointed. The hotel is nice, but they charge extra for overnight parking and there were sea gulls squawking for most of the night. Other than that the hotel was wonderful!
