Chambres propres, personnel agréable et serviable. L'hotel dispose d'un parking. L'hotel se situe en plein centre de Barcelone, à 500 mètre d'un station de métro.

Très bel hôtel; formidablement situé, à 200 mètres du Passei de Gracia ( et de la Maison Batilo). Accueil attentionné du personnel. Parking sous l'hôtel ( inestimable à Barcelone) pour seulement 20€ les 24 h. Il y a même une piscine et un jacuzzi. Très Très bonne adresse

l'accueil est vraiment moyen. la chambre etroite et wifi est limité à 1h dans les chambre et pour ce qui me concerne, ça n'a pas fonctionné pendant tout mon séjour. en gros, pour un hotel 3 etoiles, c'est assez limite.

Hôtel excellent pour une visite ciblée de Barcelone de 3-4 jours.. Déjeuner parfait mais beaucoup trop cher. Personnel plutôt sympas mais sans plus. Climatisation ne fonctionne pas vraiment et la chambre donnait sur une petite court intérieure ce qui coupait la luminosité de la pièce. Salle de bain parfaitement équipée.

Hotel à peu près correct, hormis le fait qu'on nous a d'abord proposé que des chambres à un lit, alors que nous avions plusieurs fois spécifié que nous voulions deux lits séparés. Très bon hotel avec petite piscine.la chambre était très agréable et parfaitement équipée (grand lit, petit frigo, clim qui marche meme sans la carte!).il y a un parking payant juste en face (un peu chère mais aucune place ailleur).plutot pas mal placé (10min du centre).

hotel bien situé, proche de toutes les endroits à visiter. Notre chambre était magnifique, mélange d'ancien et de moderne avec tout le confort. Peitit déjeuner à 14 € !!! mais de nombreux cafés proches proposent des prix plus raisonnables. dommage que le personnel à l'accueil soit si peu aimable

L'hôtel était plutôt agréable mais il y avait une toute petite fenêtrer qui donnait sur une cour intérieure par laquelle on voyait 5 cm2 de ciel. Par ailleurs, il est très bruyant le matin, on entendait les femmes de ménage qui nous réveillaient. Enfin, nous avions demandé une chambre double et on a eu une twin.

Nous avons pris une chambre avec le confort nécessaire pour un court week end à Barcelone. Celle-ci était petite mais propre. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir notre propre terrasse c'est en voulant en profiter que j'ai constater que le rideau de la chambre était trouver (aurait pu être racommoder ou changer) et les meubles de ladite terrasse étaient […] vétuste. Nous avons séjournés 5 nuits à cet hotel. Situé tout en haut de la Rambla, à côté d'un excellent resto à tapas, nous avions accès à toutes les attractions facilement. Par contre, le spa n'est pas très propre et l'eau était froide. Les personnes à la réception sont dans l'ensemble pas très souriants, mais tout s'est bien déroulé lorsqu'on avait besoin […] de renseignement. La chambre était super, pas bruyant pour la nuit. Clean, Calm, Affordable cost, Definitely come back and recommend to friends... Because Winter time, we didn't use the pool and sauna, but like the place. One small problem, we booked for a double bed but we got a 2 twin beds.

Small boutique hotel with unbelievable location. Walking distance to the University area, Passeig de Gracia as well as Plaza Catalunya and the Rambla area. Excellent choice of restaurants within three blocks and swift access to the Metro to get you to further out destinations such as Park Guell or to the Plaza Espanya to catch trains to nearby towns […] such as Montserrat. The staff was courteous and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable, although there were some signs of wear. The hotel was equipped with a restaurant, a pool and hot tub as well. Our flight arrived early and the front desk allowed us to check into our room well before the official check in time of 3PM. In addition, we were allowed to leave our luggage after check out, since our flight didn't leave till late at night. My biggest issue was in fact a minor concern-- in that some keys were stuck on the keyboard on the one computer for guest use in the lobby. TERRIBLE

We were delighted with our short stay in this hotel. It is better than we had hoped and we are pretty fussy. The accommodation was similar to that in more expensive hotels and the location is excellent, particularly if you are a Gaudi fan. La Pedrera is about 4minutes walk away. . Staff are very pleasant and very helpful. This is a very well run operation. We had breakfast included. There was plenty of fresh fruit and a variety of breads. As in many hotels of this type, continental style cold meats and cheeses predominate the selection. There are no hot breakfasts and no eggs. There was a good range of cereals and a variety of cakes and pastries for the sweet toothed guest. No fear of going hungry then! There is a pretty little rear garden with small pool if you want a dip and a nice sun bed on which to rest your weary limbs after a day´s sight seeing. There is a phone which you can use and the bar man is happy to bring that gin and tonic you have been dreaming about when all the site seeing is done. When you are suitalbly restored, this is a good shopping area in which to splash the cash in the very fashionable shops. The decor of the lobby is very interesting and the staff is pretty friendly. The room was quite small w/2 twin beds side by side to each other but that has more to do with layout. Odd thing is the bathroom didn't have a lock and this room is designated for 2ppl, so we joked that this is a way to test the "honor system" btwn the 2 ppl staying there. […] All in all we were happy b/c our intent was to stay in the hotel as little as possible...sleep only and the beds were comfortable so it served its purpose. Hotel Balmes is a very clean and convenient place to stay while in Barcelona. They have free internet service in the lobby at all times - there is a computer you can use or they will give you a code for your laptop, but in the lobby only. The pool area is also very nice, as is the hot tub. Although the bedding situation in the room wasn't great (3 triple […] beds or 2 twin beds!) the bathroom was a decent size and the shower was incredible! Great water pressure and nice hot showers every time. The chambermaid insured that the room was very clean, and with wood floors and no carpet, it was really much better than average in terms of cleanliness. This is our second stay at the Balmes. The staff was exceptionally helpful. Although we had a nicer room for our first stay, the room was clean and comfortable. The Rambla is a five minute walk. It is also not far from The Plaça de Catalunya. They have a lovely pool area that was very refreshing.

I was very pleased with the Balmes Hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a safe, relatively quiet neighborhood, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. A metro station is nearby and easily walkable. I do recommend bringing earplugs, as the hallways could be a bit noisy at night. I found Balmes' staff to […] be friendly and accomodating. This hotel is close to all of the action without being in the middle of all the noise and hustle bustle of the tourist areas. It was pretty quiet and there are some cafes around the corner as well as a little grocery store. We stayed in an Executive room and it was small but very comfortable and had a huge patio. The tv stations are very limited but we didn't spend much time in the room. There is an ATM machine on the other corner. I think this is a perfect place for travelers staying for a few days. Very convenience to every where.

A nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff, in a good location for getting around. The only problem was the walls must have been very thin as you could hear next door although they werent particularly noisy, when they flushed the toilet or had a shower it sounded like the water was about to come through.

We stayed for 6 nights in April, 2011. More expensive than a 4 star hotel we stayed in earlier, but was unavailable for the dates we needed. Would not return to this hotel again. And one concierge was ill-tempered-- made us not want to pass by the desk if he was there. The other staff were more amenable.

The hotel was located in a close proximity to most major attractions such as Casa Milla (2 intersections East + 1 block North); Casa Batllo; Placa Catalunia; and many more attractions. They spoke decent English and were eager to provide us with tips. There are a number of good restaurants on every corner. We dinned at the Taverna Catalunia on Carrer de Valencia near the intersection with Carrer d'Arribau. It was a nice place. They served farm raised, organic. If you like walking, I would advise against Hop On Hop Off busses. Buy a T10 ticket in stead - sold at every metro station and use public transportation if you are too tired. The location was very convenient, the staff friendly but the room was very dark and smelt of damp/ dirty water. Soundproofing was not great and some floor tiles in the bathroom were coming up. I think I just got a cheap room as I saw the inside of other rooms and they looked light and airy.

The Balmes was a very nice hotel. The room was typical European but still good sized and very clean. The hallway outside was a little loud with other people, but there was no street noise or anything. The courtyard with the pool was very nice, but it was too cold out to use it. It was very convenient to take the Metro down to the cruise terminal. There are also a number of good restaurants close by. We we're into the shopping, but there are also a lot of retail shops close, to include the upscale Gucci type stores. They also give you a free pass for your party to the Egyptian museum. It's only a 5-10 min walk, and it's got a lot of cool stuff. It normally cost 11 Euro, so the pass is a good deal. We have stayed at the Balmes several times before and enjoyed each stay. This time we upgraded to one of their apartments, which was really delux.

Nice hotel, got a small room on the 7th floor. The location is perfect, close to the bus lines and Paza Catalunya. The staff was always polite and there was one computer available to check my emails. I stayed at Balmes while I was looking for an apartment in Barcelona (I'm a student here). The room was reasonably priced, the location was perfect (close to everything in Eixample), and best of all, the service was amazing. The concierges were very friendly and willing to help me, despite the fact that I had several questions each day. The hotel was very clean well priced and centrally located, it was easy to get to all the sites in the city many walkable. As a designer the only thing I would say about the hotel is it has a distinctly '70's style which is not my preference, though everything was well keep and clean.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, besides the need for a 5 minute walk to the metro station the surrounding neighborhood is very beautiful and full of restaurants. the hotel room was great, more than we expected from 3 stars hotel. the hotel stuff was not always very helpful in answering questions.

As soon as got there was very impressed. The staff were very helpful. Rooms spotless and getting clean towels every day was great. 2min walk to las ramblas and a taxi to the beach took about 10mins at a cost of 7/8euros. The hotel is in a great location only a 5min walk from la rambla de catalunya, and most of the staff speak good english, and are all very friendly. Our room wasnt very big but it had everything we needed. Unfortunately we stayed at the hotel in the hottest month in Barcelona (August) and our air con in the room didn't work. We advised the front desk […] staff of this, and were told it would be looked at which it was not. Our room also was on the 7th floor with a window looking onto 4 walls, which was a bit clostraphobic! If you are a light sleeper you may have trouble as the walls and doors are paper thin so you will hear staff / other people staying at the hotel at all hours of the night and day, so i would suggest ear plugs. Apart from these small issues i would recommend the hotel to any one looking to go to barcelona just because of the fab location and friendly staff. Lisez la suite

We upgraded to a room with a terrace and it was well worth it. The hotel was close to the center but not as close as I originally thought. It took about 10 - 15 mins to walk

Location was awesome, 5 min walk from metro station, walkable to Las Ramblas and La Sagrada Familia. Balmes is a lovely hotel. We loved the swimming pool/jacuzzi/garden area. Fair warning though, the pool is cool and the jacuzzi is barely warm. We loved this smallish, stylish hotel in a nice neighborhood.Our bilevel room had a spacious, marble-clad bathroom off the entryway. A short flight of stairs took us upstairs to the bedroom, and another short flight took us to a nice sitting room with a private patio surrounding the pool. Both rooms had televisions. Stairs could be a problem with people […] with health problems and/or too much luggage. My parents had a one-level room with a divided sitting area/bedroom--no patio. The hotel had a beautiful bar with reasonable prices and nice service from a nice woman named "Maite." we had stayed at the Balmes four years ago. reserved a double room and upon arrival reqeusted a similar room to what we had 4 years ago, facing the back. We had to pay 20 Euros a day extra. We saw one of the standard double rooms and it was extremely small and cramped. Also reserved a room for one night for my son; his room was in a basement annex ; […] very small and unpleasant.
