"Excellent Service! Good for longer stay"
We needed a hotel for a long term stay. This hotel offered suites fully equipped with kitchen and living room area. The staff offers excellent customer service. The hotel is located near restaurants and shopping.
Too much noisy
"Old, dusty, mildewy, and more"
The hotel was old, dusty, and smelled of mildew or just body odor. The fixtures were antiquated and barely functioning. In the entryway, they had used duct tape to fasten the fire alarm box to the wall! The bed was hard and the heat/ac unit was not functioning well enough to use without going deaf. All in all, not worth even a portion of the price […] paid to stay there. Lisez la suite

"Esplanade Hotel - White Plains"
While the building is older, which doesn't bother us as we live in an older home (135+ years old) our room was atrocious: 1. The bath tub filled up with water while taking a shower as the drain was incredibly clogged! 2. The only coffe mug in the room was dirty 3. There was a left over bottle of cola in the mini-fridge. We'll never go back and never […] recommend it to anyone!! Lisez la suite
"The Hotel Esplanade ---- AVOID!!!!"
We checked in in the early evening. We had an early flight and had to leave the hotel by 4:30 a.m. Around 7:30 p.m. we notice that the room is cold -- we cannot locate a thermostat so we called the front desk only to be told that they do not turn on the heat until October 15. It was 51 degrees in our room ---- they offered us some blankets. I had four […] layers of clothing on when I went to bed. I called the next day to see if they would compensate us for not having any heat and they claim they upgraded our room. That was news to us as we were never informed of an upgrade. Lisez la suite
"Comfort in White Plains"
A comfortable hotel with good amenities (fridge, sink, plenty of cabinets plus the usual TV, etc.), and it's only 30 minutes from Grand Central by Metro-North.
"Someone's got some Esplanade-ing to do"
Uh, boy. Air conditioning was circa 1978, blew warm air. Had to open my third floor window (no screen) to get some cooler air movement. Shower looked like something I'd have found if I were living in Fish's apartment in the 1970s. Hot water was ample, however. Internet... one of the few hotels remaining that still charge for the service. And its […] service, it turns out, didn't work. It was "down," I was told. Which meant I wound up working late, leaving earlier in the morning than I'd have had I stayed at other local hotels. Mini-fridge was a nice surprise, as was the microwave. Bed was okay. TV, while tiny and older, was fine. Couch was... random. Sat in the middle of the room, facing the TV. Looked like a college guy had arranged the room. Neighborhood... the abandoned parking garage across the street is a bit menacing, but you're only a block or two from the main drag with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Staff was... withdrawn, tired looking. Price for White Plains area is on the low end, but I still didn't feel I got my money's worth. Lisez la suite
"Fine, but not great"
We had a lot of trouble finding this place, since the address actually leads you to a retirement center with the same name which is in a connected to the hotel by a bridge that goes across a street. Even when we knew we were supposed to cross the street, we had trouble finding the door to the hotel. It has a mis-leading sign that says something like […] "Esplanade Corporate Offices" so doesn't appear to be a hotel entrance. There was a bad smell in the hallway outside our room, but not in our room. The furnishings were nice and the bathroom was nicely updated, but the bedding was rather uncomfortable, and the tissues in the bathroom were the very thin, useless variety. There happened to be a fire alarm at 2am the one night we were there, and we had to wait outside for a half hour while the fire dept. came and checked things out. Maybe it wasn't the Esplanade's fault, but it didn't add to our joy. They gave us a healthy credit off our bill to make up for it, though, which we really appreciated. The room had a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, sink and 2-burner electric stovetop, which seemed a bit odd in a room that's just the size of a regular hotel room (not a suite) but they came in handy. "esplanade hotel, white plains ny"
although itis conveniently located, this hotel is semi seedy. the employees were helpful and the price was right.
"Esplanade- broken AC and poor service"
This hotel was more like a home for the elderly with extra rooms that can be rented for over night stays. The AC unit broke in my first room and I was moved to a new location in the middle of the night. The AC also broke in that room and I was told to repack my things and relocated at 2:30 in the morning. I will not be returning here. Three stars is […] more than generous for this property. I would rate them more like a 1 overall. Lisez la suite
"Esplanade Hotel- White Plains"
This hotel is in a great location to go out at night. Its pretty rundown and not well kept but for one night on the town its worth it. It's less than a 3 minute walk from Mammaronk ave which is the only reason why we stayed there. It is Not for those with high standards or families.
"good for a night"
This is an old hotel (converted apartments maybe). The rooms are actually big and mine had a kitchenette. Not much on the amenities but I was only there for one night and it served my purposes. The included breakfast was a standard continental affair with bagels, juice, coffee, pastries and fruit. For $100, in White Plains, with breakfast, I would consider […] it a good deal. Not the place to have a breakfast meeting or impress a client, but I had a comfortable, quiet night. I did not drive to the parking was not an issue for me as it has been for others. The hotel is only one block from good White Plains restaurants and night life...easy walk back. Lisez la suite
"Esplanade-White Plains"
before checking in I had read some bad reviews. However, I was satisfied with the service, good bed, large room, good rate. As others had said, parking was not right at the hotel, although I was able to park right in front because of the weekend.

"The Hotel in White Plains"
We needed the maintenance man due to the heat being on and no control over it. The man came to our room quickly and was very helpful. We had to open the windows because you couldn't stay in our room with it that hot. The soap dish in the shower was taped together and not enough towels for the three of us. BUT, we were forever grateful that the staff […] kept a pillow for us after we left it in our room. We received it back and was very grateful. The lady on the desk the night we checked in was very, very helpful and very nice to us. Parking was awful due to your construction, but she helped us tremendously. We would recommend your hotel. "Esplanada Hotel in the Ghetto"
This hotel was located right next to the galleria in Mamaroneck, NY but the location was about the only convenience. The neighborhood was very bad as sirens and screaming was heard throughout the night. The parking garage was undergoing reconstruction and no accomodation for being forced to park in a paid parking garage was made; you were just forced […] to park and pay there. When I first checked into the hotel, the desk clerk was busy counting quarters and waited until she was completed before even saying "hello" to me. I am very dissatisfied with the conditions and environment of this hotel and would not recomend staying here. Lisez la suite
"The Esplanade"
If you are looking to stay in a DUMP this place is perfect !
"The Esplanade Hotel"
I did not use any of the hotel services, therefore there is no review for that. I was extremely upset that there was no parking facility and that I had to haul my luggage back and forth a block away and pay $15.00 in parking fees and the municiple lot was not designed for overnight parking, so I had to set my alarm in the morning to go put more money […] in the meter. I asked the front desk if they reimburse parking fees and they said no. I feel that the least they could do was reimburse parking fees. I will not stay there again. Lisez la suite
"Esplanade Hotel Critique"
When I first arrived there was no parking because your parking area was closed for repairs. I had to park across the street and had to pay for the parking overnight. After walking from my car I was totally exhausted and I then found I had to check in on one side of the street and my room was the other side of the street. When I finally got to my room […] I found the toilet wasn't working. A maintenance man came to fix it but didn't have the part needed. The only way the toilet would flush was to hold while it was flushing. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling away from the wall. All in all I was most disappointed. I still feel I should be reimbursed for the $8.00 parking fee. Lisez la suite
"Esplanade, White Plains New York"
The room was between 70 and 80 degrees with the air condition on. The telephone was not working - reported it and still was not repaired. The bed had something like a "sink hole" in the middle and was very uncomfortable. The first night we wanted to go to another hotel but we stayed for 5 days because registering with hotel.com the room was already […] paid for in advance. It was terrible. Lisez la suite

"Good Place To Stay If You Need To Be In The Heart"
...of White Plains, NY at any given time. It truly is a centrally located hotel with convient parking, major road access, aned about ten minutes from Metro North train service and Bee-Line Bus Center.
"Esplanade in White Plains"
I was extremely pleased with the accommodations and location. My stay was very pleasant, and the location made things very convenient.
"Avoid this Hotel"
This hotel is in two different buildings. The lobby is in one and the rooms are across the street. The key did not work on the first several tries. Soooo we had to make the journey across the street to the other building to get another key. If you get back to your hotel after 9:00PM you have to enter through the building with the lobby and go through […] a sky bridge to get to the building with your room. The bed was the worst I have ever slept in. It was VERY hard and the sound the bed made sitting or laying on it was horible. The mold in the tub/shower was thick enough to talk to you. The ice maker did not work on our floor. And what they call a continental breakfast was two boxes of cereal and three muffins. There were two redeeming elements to this hotel. It is within a very short walk to the mall and the night life part of White Plains. Thier service was decent as well because they delivered additional pillows that we requested in a short period of time. Lisez la suite
"Anywhere but here!!!"
I would not recommend this hotel to no one! These so called "corporate suites" looks as though they were converted from being senior living rooms and maybe thats why this is connected to a senior living complex and also by the name The Esplande. The room looked as though it was out of some 1970's horror movie, old TV with alot of static, my bed was […] laying on top of a piece of plyboard and the matress itself was so umcomfortable eventhough they tried using the piece of plyboard for support. The curtains for the window must have been 20yrs old, I believe the color was supposed to be white and yet they looked black. The bath tub did not drain, so taking a shower while the tub was filling up. Not to mention the smell when you walk into the room. I felt like I needed to stay in the shower the whole time I was there, but couldn't do that because the tub will over fill. If you don't want to have added stress to your business trip or vacation I highly recommend chosing a different occupancy. Lisez la suite
"Location and Clarity"
When arriving at the Esplanade Hotel it can be difficult to figure out where to park and even where the front desk is to check in. The reason for this is that parking is underground and a block away and not the long term lot that is right next to the hotel. Secondly, the front desk is in the Esplanade Senior Living center building and not the corporate […] suites build (in fact after 9pm you can not access your room from the corporate suites building at all and have to go up a few floors in the Senior Living center and then cross a sky bridge over to the corporate suites hotel itself). Additionally there is no way to control the Air Conditioning/Heater so which ever it is blowing is what you have to live with for the night. Lisez la suite
"Great location especially for the cost"

"Retirement home that also has hotel"
this place was one of the most interesting hotels I have ever stayed at - and I have stayed all over the world in some interesting places. While it is in a great location to the fun restaurants and bars, this is really a rather run-down retirement home that also has a couple of floors of hotel rooms. Everyone working there was really trying and I feel […] guilty complaining, but it is definitely not your usual experience. The rooms are very big (as they used to be apartments for the elderly); they are not dirty exactly, but a little run down and in need of an update. don't get me wrong, the place is safe and fine, but for the price I wouldn't stay there again. One funny part was the very very nice elderly people standing by to give you advice about how to navigate this interesting old building. Lisez la suite

"Ein gute Lösung"
Eigentlich war alles i.O.
