Très déçu du personnel de la réception antipathique au possible .encore plus du bagagiste qui se permet de faire des remarques et gestes malhonnête sur les clients. Vraiment pas digne d un soit disant 4 étoiles . En rentrant le soir dans la hall d entrée tous les meubles mis en tas couvert avec des draps un soir le réceptionniste nous a presque insultés […] et priés de passer par l entrée voiture. Hôtel cher, fréquenté par une clientelle huppée, les gens cool ne sont pas forcément à l'aise...Hôtel pas bien situé par rapport au port animé de Santa Monica et surtout loin de la plage..Chambre petite compte tenu du prix, il fallait pousser la chaise de bureau pour faire le tour du lit et un jour vous avez un chapeau de bain pas l'autre , un jour […] on vous remplace un produit pas le lendemain!!Sans compter le foehn qui câle Il y a mieux et moins cher à Santa Monica, et sur la côte Pacifique nous avons connu vraiment de beaux hôtels pour cette même catégorie, entre autre le Plaza à Monterey...Je ne conseille pas cet hôtel... Situation idéale (bien qu'il n'existe pas de situation véritablement idéale dans la région de LA, la location d'une voiture est absolument nécessaire), à quelques pas de la plage et de la 3ème rue. Valet parking très efficace. Demander une chambre assez élevée pour profiter au mieux de la vue sur l'océan. Room service de qualité. Très grand confort. Mais […] quelques regrets malgré tout pour un hôtel revendiquant ce niveau de prestation... Le personnel relativement peu aimable, lobby froid et impersonnel, l'absence de piscine, et la sensation d'un hôtel sur le déclin (mobilier parfois abîmé, mauvaise réception TV, peinture ébréchée par endroit). Nous avons été très déçus par l'hôtel Huntley à Santa Monica. Nous avions choisi cet hôtel pour sa note globale et sa situation à l'écart des quartiers réputés sordides à la nuit tombée, ainsi que pour sa vue et sa proximité d'avec la mer. Ces deux notions sont toutes relatives ... Pour atteindre la mer, il faut marcher pas mal pour rejoindre l'escalier […] le plus proche, ou aller en voiture et payer le parking. Pour ce qui concerne la vue, les chambres donnent sur la mer, mais pas de face (on est en quelque sorte perpendiculaire à la mer). Ainsi, on n'aperçoit la mer qu'en étant près de la fenêtre, et encore on n'en voit qu'un morceau, ce qui gâche le plaisir. Il faut reconnaître que les chambres sont propres, spacieuses, correctement équipées. L'hôtel donne également une impression de "distinction", et ses tarifs sont à la hauteur de ses prétentions, à savoir élevés. Cet hôtel était le dernier de notre séjour aux USA, et nous avions décidé de nous faire plaisir en réservant un hôtel qui sortait de l'ordinaire. Nous nous attendions à une sorte d'apothéose, mais quelle déception ! Notre chambre était à côté de l'ascenseur et nous avons souffert du bruit jusque tard dans la nuit (bruits comparables à des avions en phase d'atterrissage). Mais ce n'est rien à côté des humiliations que nous a infligées le personnel de cet hôtel... Tout d'abord, l'employé du service d'étage s'est moqué de nous par derrière quand notre glacière s'est involontairement retrouvée sur son chariot (nous avons été pris au dépourvu par la prise d'assaut de notre voiture à l'arrivée). A l'arrivée des bagages dans la chambre, le pourboire que j'ai tendu à l'employé ne lui suffisait pas, il a donc déclaré (en anglais) "ce que nous me donnez ça ne représente rien pour moi, je n'en veux pas ", et m'a indiqué le montant du pourboire minimum qu'il attendait (sans l'exiger il faut l'admettre). très bel hotel a 100 m des plages de santa-monica et de la promenade shopping et restaurants, seul points noirs pas de piscine a l'hotel et service très très snob.....limite dédaigneux pour les touristes

tres bon hotel, bon emplacement, tt confort, mais les lits sont un peu petits pour 4 personnes ( 120 cm environ) la jetée de santa monica aucun interet, la 3° rue est à 5 mn à pied ( rue pietonne, boutique resto )

Hotel and accommodations were a little more that I usually spend, but for a special occasion (engagement), it was the perfect setting. The staff was very helpful and after we told the front desk we just got engaged, the hostess upgraded us to a junior suite. One unfortunate item was the rooftop Bar / Restaurant is very popular and we were unable to […] eat there as it was already booked. I recommend making your dinner reservations ahead of your stay. This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. Close to the promenade for a walk above the beach. Close to Montana for good shopping and coffee. Close to Core Fusion across the street for exercise. The staff is amazing too. I wish I could live here.

Was not pleased with this hotel at all. The room was very small with 2 queen beds. Probably would have been better with 1 king. One of the beds was so close to the closet it was difficult to use the closet. The full length mirror was on the closet door which was useless as the bed was in front of it. There were no drawers to put clothes in, so you have […] to live out of your suitcase, We were supposed to get a free USA today each day, but only got 2 out of 3. If you choose to stay at this hotel, request a room far away from the elevators as, they are very loud (and slow). It sounded as if people were rollerskating on the other side of the wall. Very helpful & friendly staff. Beautiful (and clean) room and "hip" atmosphere. Walking distance to amenities. Ocean view was decent ( but not spectacular), but did not matter. We loved the Huntley!

The hotel room itself was very nice and the bed comfortable; the bathroom was very modern and had a great view. The dining room/bar was very upscale and offered nice sunset views. The lobby was small (low-ceilinged) and not as impressive as I might have hoped for the rate of the room. However, the main issue was that there was a party going on in the […] rooftop bar/dining room on Floor 18, until 2:00 am and we could not sleep until it ended. We thought about asking to move rooms but packing up at 1:00 am was not ideal. When we mentioned it upon check-out, they said politely "Sorry, it was a busy night." Our room was much nicer and larger than expected. The furnishings were modern and up to date. Easy free parking plus the daily paper were added amenities!

Walking distance to main shopping street, restaurants and beach, a classy, contemporary 4 star with gym, upscale restaurant and great service.

Love love love this place. It's all about the location and the penthouse bar!

We paid extra for the ocean view, expecting something similar to the photos on the website. No luck! Even if the fog had lifted, we would have had to stand at one end of the window and crane our necks to see white water. Book dinner reservations early. We called at 5:00 and were told next opening was at 9:30 p.m. No problem, we had a wonderful meal […] delivered by room service. We were attending a wedding at the Fairmont hotel in Santa Monica so the Huntley was very convenient. In retrospect however, I wish I had spent the etra money and stayed at the Fairmont. The room, and specifically the bathroom, was very small; the corridors were so dark as to be hazardous and my biggest complaint, as petty as it may sound, was the bed […] frame. It was a wooden frame and protruded at least 3 inches beyond the mattress. The comforter on the bed was covering the frame so I smashed my shin on the corner of the frame two separate times. Very painful!! The one positive thing I can say about the hotel is that the mattress and pillows were very comfortable and I slept very soundly. Lisez la suite

if you find yourself in LA do yourself a favor and head out to Santa Monica for a night at the Huntley. It's ideally located close to the Promenade, Beach and Montana Ave. There's a great bar scene in the roof top bar and the rooms are clean and spacious. The one issue...why does an upscale hotel like this still charge for WiFI?

Thia hotel is delightful. It literally took our breath away. From the beautiful smell of essential oil candles burning in the lobby to the magnificent 360 degree views of Santa Monica on the top floor bar and restaurant. We wished we could have stayed longer.

This is a great Hotel, which is priced accordingly. It is very well located and is within walking distance to all the sights in the area. The only complaint would be the noise from the lifts that was audible from our room. Would stay again (just a bit further from the lift)

This is the second year in a row my husband and I have stayed at the Huntley for our anniversary. The staff is wonderful, extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was awesome with a breathtaking view of the ocean!! I'll be back next year!!

I was very disappointed by the Huntley. This very expensive hotel features slow elevators, poor service in their restaurant and a valet service that managed to lose my keys and make me wait every time I called. Great overall hotel, Get the view room and be sure to eat at the restaurant!

This hotel was very quiet, comfortable and overall wonderful. The bedding was comfortable. The room was large. We had a wonderful stay at the Huntley and would recommend it to all families. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious for all ages. My girls and I were very impressed.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was very clean and comfortable and the majority of the staff were very nice and helpful. I don't think it was worth the price we paid. I also don't believe that guests should have to pay an extra $10 for wifi.

Our room was great, although I would have preferred a bath tube as opposed to just a shower. This is a very noisy hotel. The restaurant is on the rooftop and therefore lots of non-guests going up and down the elavators. The walls are thin so we could hear other rooms, elevators all night. Also for anyone with vertigo the halways are terrible. They are […] very dark with weird lighting. They are trying to be cool and modern, but in the end they are frustrating. Nice boutique-style hotel with quality finishes. We had a huge room with views to Pacific Ocean. Very well maintained (or maybe recently renovated) with good beds, bathroom and all round comfort. Nice Hotel Walking Distance to 3rd Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Noisy air conditioner/heater and thin walls.

I was miffed over the fact that wireless internet was $9.95/day on top of my rate. When I complained at check-out, I was told that next time I should ask for it for free (I had, but they had refused). Arrived for six day stay & stayed twelve days. The joke was "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." Bed was very comfortable. Staff was sincerely friendly & helpful everyday. Busy nightlife from 8-11 at Penthouse. Trendy & lively scene and not for the faint-hearted. Breakfast excellent. Highly recommended overall & good value, […] too. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and comfortable and the bathrooms are stocked with all the toiletrees you need. The restaurant on the top floor has amazing views and good food. The bar scene is very popular, but it is loud and the crowd on the older side.

From the front desk to the Penthouse restaurant, everything about this hotel was impeccable.the customer service is outstanding.. the valet, the front desk, the bellhop, the restaurant servers could not have been more accomodating.
