Husa Oriente - Barcelone

Tres bonnes impressions : belle chambre spacieuse, petit dejeuner buffet trés copieux (mais un peu cher), personnel trés à l'écoute et trés sympa (conseil de restau, de visites à faire)

personnel accueil attentif, professionnel et agréable hotel ancien avec splendide patio intérieur et qui a une "ame". accès pédestre à pratiquement tous les centres d'intérêt et tout près du métro LICEU(opéra de Barcelone),du "barrio gotico"',de la Plaza Catalunya,du port......... jazz:Plaza Reial a quelques minutes,Opéra Liceu,Palau de la musica,Auditori,..à […] pied, c' est le meilleur moyen de découvrir cette belle ville trépidente et en plein changement(en bien,je connais Barcelone depuis 40 ans) avec la multiplication de ces boutique "vintage"; c' est toujours avec plaisir que je retrouve les ramblas et leurs terrasses où il est agréable de s'attarder en prenant un verre..de sangria ou de bon vin,ou peut être un cocktail....... Hotel idéalement situé sur la Rambla (très brouillante la nuit); chambre quelconque mais vitrage heureusement bien isolant car elle donnait sur la Rambla. Petit déjeuner correct dans une cour intérieure couverte. Cher pour les prestations offertes mais hotel situé au Centre.

Le seul souci sur la chambre 111 au 1 er étage le bruit ,a cet étage car la chambre donne sur un très grand escalier et a cote de la salle des petits déjeuner.Autrement la chambre très bien isole sachant quelle a vue sur La RAMBLAS .

Bon hotel - bon service - bien placé. Un peu bruyant Les petits dej sont un peu chers (12€).

Les parties communes de l'hôtel sont vraiment anciennes et pas toujours bien entretenues et la salle de bain "design" n'est pas très pratique et fonctionnelle. Par contre, pour faire du tourisme et faire beaucoup de choses à pied à partir de l'hôtel, difficile de faire mieux.

Bon hôtel, bien situé sur l'avenue qui mène vers le port. pas de possibilité de garer la voiture sinon le parking un plus bas conseillé par l'hôtel. Possibilité de connexion internet.

Sa situation géografique est parfaite por un séjour dans cette magnifique ville. Il vous suffit d'ouvrir la fenetre de votre chambre pour etre plongé dans la "vie" espagnole et humer cet air de douce insouciance que dégage la ville. La proximité du métro vous permet de voyager sans soucis pendant votre séjour . A quelques pas de l'hotel se trouvent […] 2 théatres pour ceux qui aiment les spectacles ainsi que l'eglise de Santa Maria del Pi dans laquelle on peut écouter un magnifique concert de guitare espagnole. Que dire du marché da "la Boqueria" qui se trouve a quelques pas de L'hotel........un régal pour les yeux , tout un monde pour le nez et si vous vous laissez tenter un plaisir pour la bouche. Cela ne vous empecheras pas dormir tranquillement a tout moment car les chambres sont parfaitement insonorisées et climatiséees. Très bon et chaleureux acceuil, très bon rapport qualité-prix, très bien situé au centre et près du métro, un peu bruyant mais se trouve sur la rambla... Adresse que nous gardons pour nos prochaines visites de Barcelone.

The room was very uncomfortable specially the beds,not recommended for people with back ache. the air condition was not working and the noise comming from the street was unbearable!!!

Hotel was in a great location right in the middle of La Ramblas. The room was quite roomy and very clean. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Metro station was right down the street making travel to the airport a snap. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is perfectly situation on Las Ramblas and has exceptional views from balconies facing the street. It is important that you have a room facing the street. In the night it may seem noisy but the view is worth it.

Although this hotel is not luxurious, it is very comfortable and highly deserves a top rating in every catagory. In addition to great location, excellent breakfasr, comfortable and clean rooms, the staff is exceptioal! Not only were they flexible in accomodating an extra guest who traveled with us at the last minute, they were so very wonderful when […] one of our party had an emergency and had to be taken to the hospital. They were extremely caring, kind and helpful to our friend's daughter when she arrived alone from the USA to help her mom after we departed on our cruise. The hotel staff and location was wonderful. Right in the heart of Barcelona surrounded by lots of shops and places to eat. I would stay here again.

Great location to be in Barcelona, direct access to the main vias and a very simple but beautiful hotel, out of the three that I stayed in on my trip, Husa Oriente was my favorite. I highly recommend it!

Hotel was perfectly acceptable, just not exciting. The rooms are clean, though a little spartan. I think the lack of a deadbolt or chain on the door was a little disconcerting, though it was symbolic of the hotel as a whole. A little extra could have significantly improved the experience. That said, the front desk staff where helpful, and spoke good […] English. The location of the hotel was excellent, with an amazing number of excellent restaurants in every direction. The architecture had a wonderful old-world elegance to it and I was told that it is the oldest hotel on La Ramblas. The staff was reallly nice. They did everything possible to make our stay a great one.

Very nice hotel with friendly receptionists. Breakfast is good with a big variety. The room was nice, beds alright - very nicely cleaned every day. No international tv-channels (only Spanish), so bring a book for the evenings. I would go here again.

best location in barcelona city center, great service comes with a big smile.

Husa Oriente Hotel was situated directly in the centre of the town, surrounded by restaurants, bars, pubs and discoes. The hotel and the rooms were apparently old but amicably clean and the stuff was heplful. On the negative side - the rooms were quite cold and there was a lot of noise each morning coming from outside - where the recycling and garbage […] containers were being lifted and emptied in trucks. Room was rather clean, big and comforting. Photos shown on hotels.com were good representations of the actual condition of the room. Staff were rather helpful as well. Location was excellent, it was on La Ramblas and easy to locate.

if you are just looking for location, it is very good one. if you need good food, comfortable bed, it is not good one. Internet is horrible, forget about it.

The location was good. The hotel itself was run down. The room was smelly and the beds were old and uncomfortable and sinking in. There was no minibar and the drinking glass (only 2) were on a wooden platform under the sink in the toilet !! There was only one small table and there were 4 of us in the room....I paid for a Quad room anyway. The TV was […] old and small. The toilet shower hose was broken and leaked and the water drained slowly. I came to the reception and asked for another room and offered to pay more but was told that the rooms are the same. I paid for 3 nites and left the following day and moved to another hotel near Catalunya and paid for it again. I asked for a refund for one nite at least and was told to ask the booking agent. The hotel is located in the middle of rambla and it was grate location.. The service was very good we took the double room with view to the ramblas and it was so amazing... But make sure you get double bad couse the twin we got wasn't comfitable... In the bottom line.. Grate hotel we recommend it!!

hotel was disappointing, septic system was backed up, room had holes in wall ,was in great need of painting, cleaning and decorating

Overall the hotel is good - it's clean, reasonably modern in the rooms (the hotel lobby etc is traditional spanish), polite and helpful staff, and the location you could not get any better right on the Ramblas. Only downside and it is considerable is the rooms have poor noise insulation. We were in a 'internal' room so not on the Ramblas, but any noise […] in the corridor felt like people were in your room it was that loud. Worst thing about this is it is mainly the security patrolling the corridors every half an hour that you can hear! So in one regard the security is excellent, but they keep you awake! I would have complained but after long days sightseeing leaving the bed was difficult during the night! Overall, would i recommend this hotel? Yes. For the price it was very good. I really liked this hotel. It's not fancy, but has everything you need for being in a city where you'll spend very little time at the hotel anyway. The service is particulalry worth calling out - a couple of the front desk poeple realy went above and beyond in providing personal and thoughtful service

the hotel in a great location! our rooms were on the La Ramblas street side. we were on the 5th floor and it was amazing! when we wanted to sleep or quiet we just closed the porch doors and we didn't hear anything from the outside. so i recommend to take this side. the view is very nice and you can feel the atmosphere of the most famous street in barcelona. the […] only thing that i can say in a bad way is the condition of the beds, they are not comfortable. and i think they should do something about that because all the rest is very good! A beautiful hotel, located right at all the action in Barcelona, a few blocks from the Columbus statue and along the main tourist drag, La Rambla Blvd. We selected this place so that we could walk to nearly everything interesting in Barcelona, and when tired, we could walk back home and rest, whenever we wanted. Which we did. The middle of the day is […] really too hot to be out and about; on the other hand, the heat breaks at around five and the weather becomes paradise, delightful to be out in, and we and everyone else in Barcelona takes advantage of that to have a good time. The hotel offers a full buffet breakfast that is tasty and varied. The breakfast 'room' is a sight of its own -- hard to describe -- a crystal palace like structure in glass and white located dropped into the medieval, stone atrium of the original building. Somehow it all works together so I would have to say that whoever designed it is a genius. The one thing that might annoy some customers about Husa Oriente is the night time noise. The building is on a corner so some of the rooms face La Rambla and some face the side street. If you get a side street room the noise from outside is bearable. But if you get a room that faces La Rambla then the noise from all the 3am revelers can make it hard for some to sleep. This of course is a problem I expect with any hotel that faces La Rambla. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful in everything we asked of them. Also, they have free WiFi which is great for those with Apple iPhones, iPads, iPowerBooks, or anything else that can run Skype. Lisez la suite

Nice Hotel. WIFI only worked for one day.

The staff wasn't nice and didn't give help too much. The bed was curved. The air-condition was terrible and didn't cool us. There was a bad smell in the room. The telephone to the reception didn't worked and also some of the lights didn't work. I deffenetly don't reccomend this hotel, unless you want a good location...

Enjoyed stay at hotel. Location right on Las Ramblas was fine and not noisy (was on 3rd floor overlooking street). Room was updated and very clean however when it rained, water leaked from terrace - though staff was quick to send us some extra towels to soak up water on floor. Staff very friendly; didn't have any meal included with price but was easily […] able to find food for bkfst esp at the Market (so much fun to see). Very friendly staff great hotel. Centre of everything. We would recommend this hotel and have told all our friends and family about this trip.

We stayed in the Husa Oriente for one night in a family room. The hotel itself is in a good. Location, on the Ramblas, the main tourist street in Barcelona. However the hotel is very disappointing. We arrived after a long overseas flight only to discover that the Husa Oriente did not have a room for us, even though we had a confirmed reservation. We chose this hotel based on its location on Las Ramblas, where we wanted to enjoy our first night in Barcelona. To our surprise, there was no room for us. We arrived at a normal check-in time (not a […] late arrival) and were told that they were sending us across town to one of their other Husa locations. So disappointing. The other hotel was in the business district, which was a total snoozer and a terrible way to start our vacation. Shame on Husa Oriente. We were very happy with the location of the hotel. We were on the front of the hotel overlooking las Ramblas. The doors leading to the balcony were of high quality and kept out most of the noise from the street. On the down side the wireless internet did not work the whole time we were there and nor did the internet in the sister hotel on the same street. […] The safe in the room was broken and the hotel could not give us a replacement although they did let us use the managers safe for our valuables. We also found silver fish in the bathroom and water damage by the bathroom door. The reception staff were not very helpful especially the night staff. Here's the good stuff, Old Hotel Great location Staff helpful breakfast buffet O.K. but alittle over priced. Now the not so good. Stale stuffy rooms in need of serious renovation. Peeling cheap laminent floor in hotel room. Moldings comming off wall in bathroom Filthy carpet in hall, No shades or blinds to block out light in window on Los Rambla side. […] Air conditioning almost non functionable. When we checked in we were sent to three different rooms, all already occupied. They claimed a glitch in their computer system, but I was very uncomfortable walking into rooms with people or their belongings in them. The location is very convenient right in La Ramblas, and the staff ended up being very helpful.

When we booked in the internet was down. We were asked to use the lobby internet at 1 Euro for 10 mins with no rebate from the hotel. In the morning after 12 hours of down, I asked the desk clerk when the internet would be up? His reply was that they had an engineer working on it. I asked for an estimate..... His short and sharp reply was "I'm not an […] engineer so I don't know!" He then turned his back and walked away. I guess that's why he's a desk clerk and not a computer engineer! Oh well... P.S. Watch out for the restaurant's $21 Sprite and Coke. Their menu has prices for the food but not the drinks... My paella was $17, the Beer was $20 and the Sprite was $21 ( and from a fountain - with ice) . Go 50 yards left from the front door then left again into the market - get proper priced drinks and English Breakfast - at correct prices,,, Also buy you lunch ( cheese, ham etc, salad) - don't get screwed on the main strip......
