Principale ville de la Côte d'Azur, Nice est célèbre pour ses magasins de luxe et sa culture avant-gardiste. La Promenade des Anglais bordée de palmiers suit les plages de galets de la Baie des Anges, le long d'hôtels huppés et d'un casino. "à revoir..."
L'hôtel en lui même n'a rien d'exceptionnel. Il est cependant très propre... J'ai eu la mauvaise surprise de tomber sur unr chambre ou mes cartes magnétiques ne marchaient pour ainsi dire "jamais".... apres plusieurs allées et venus à la réception, on me fait venir un technicien qui me confirme que la serrure à un probleme... le probleme recommence […] une heure après. et là on me dit qu'on peut rien faire. Heureusement, après appel au 1010 service qualité, on me change de chambre la derniere nuit (4 au total) avec surclassement en suite. geste que j'épprécie fortement, bien que j'aurais préféré avoir une chambre simple depuis le début qui fonctionne... Le personnel a l'accueil est tres ambivalant d'une personne à une autre. enfin, un grand lit n'est pas deux lits simple collés avec des grands draps !!! Bref, bon Hotel, mais honnetement je ne pense pas y revenir.... en comparaison je conseille fortement le NICE RIVIERA, meme catégorie, bien plus accueillant... et juste a coté. "Really ''Nice''!"
The service was good, the room was clean, the place was quiet eventhough the hotel is situated in the crowded downtown. The tramway is passing a corner away, and the train station Nice-Ville, is also really close. "Central location but not value for money"
The Mercure Notre Dame sits in the centre of the main shopping area of Nice and is located well for restaurants and al other services. The room was comfortable and very quiet with good curtains allowing restful night's sleep after a hard day sightseeing. The room we had was a Prestige which didn't seem that much of an upgrade, we had bathrobes and a […] Nespresso coffee machine but this was only supplied with paper cups and only 2! For the cost of this room we saw sea view rooms on the Promenade des Anglaises, so we didn't consider this hotel rate as value for money. The staff were very helpful, especially with car parking. Breakfast also seemed overly expensive at 18Euros a head, but there are many local shops and patisseries to frequent instead. "Just fine"
This hotel is just fine. Not amazing, but nothing worth complaining about either. I felt it was over-priced for what we got- a basic room and a modest continental breakfast, reminiscent of a Holiday Inn Express- but I'm also a stickler for cleanliness and maintenance and I had no complaints about that. "Service leaves a lot to be desired!"
The hotel was clean and in a good location. The buffet breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was rarely re stocked. For example there was never any bacon, whenever I asked staff they would say more was on its way but never arrived, this happened several times with different food. Had a lovely nespresso coffee machine in our bedroom which would have […] been useful if they re stocked paper cups, cream, suger etc! Hotel very over priced for the poor service. "Great central location"
Stayed three nights in a 'privilege' room, which turned out to be a pretty ordinary room - disappointing considering this is a 4* hotel. "Convenient location,roof top terrace and pool!"
I highly recommend this hotel. Convenient location close to shops, restaurants, tram and train. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was spotless. A big plus was the roof terrace, pool and bar on the top floors of the hotel. Would definitely return!Avis véridique Hotels.com
"Not sure will stay again"
Not a 4* hotel, they don't change bed sheet everyday. 1st day, they even forgot to put clean towels. They don't vacuum the floor and they entered to the room while talking on mobile, checking out the window and left when I was still in bed. Hotel charged city tax, although in the booking is written all taxes and fees are included and below 18, no taxes. […] I end up paid for me and for my child. The staff in the pool was very nice and helpful. Hotel let me late check out. This is a plus. Great location for shopping, close to train station but far from the beach. "Great for night life"
I stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks. I chose it because of its proximity to my school. I had to get up at 6.45 am every day. But the hotel is very noisy because of poor insulation. The noise from traffic, guests returning to their rooms and the couples above us was alive until 2 am. So, if you are there to study or work it is no good. The advantage when selecting a Mercure (or other hotels from the Accor chain) is that you know more or less what you get. Comfortable room, bathroom a bit tired but clean and functional (useful magnifying mirror and efficient hairdryer). Good breakfast, plenty of choice. Excellent pool, sunbathing areas and bar on rooftop (4.30 euros for a decent glass of wine compared quite well with bars in town and there are nice views of city from terraces). "Fantastic Location in a fantastic City"
Lovely hotel with a fantastic bar on the roof top and a pool and sunbathing area for time out. Located in the heart of the shopping area and close to the old town and seafront. Convenient for the train station for a trip to Monaco or Cannes and ideal for using the bus to and from the airpoirt rather than a taxi. Downside was the bathroom as it was […] very 1970's style and very tired looking compared to a modern style, very comfortable room. Hotel was being modernized during our stay (car park and lobby rest rooms) so maybe the bathrooms will be next. Apart from this the hotel was fantastic and the bar area is a nice way to chill out after an evening out or a day of exploring. City-wise... Nice is fantastic! Excellent location. Hotel room comfortable, bathroom a bit dilapidated and could do with a refurb, although no great problem. Didn't have breakfast at hotel as cost of 18 euros was expensive - although a full buffet - we would not have felt it justified the cost. Tram fare of just 1 euro per journey was good value. Bus from airport was 1euro, direct […] fast coach 4 euros so excellent value. We cancelled our hire car as none of the hotels seemed to have free parking, and it would have limited our travelling. "Strange..."
The hotel is very run down and even though we were there past the check-in time, our room was not ready. When we finally got to our room, the set-up was the strangest I think I've experienced. The toilet was in a closet near the door, but the sink/shower/bidet was across the room??? So after going to the bathroom, you had to walk across the bedroom […] just to wash your hands. The rooftop patio and swimming pool were a huge bonus- very nice. We needed towels one day and were told by staff that they were out and to check with the front desk to get towels. The girl at the concierge was sarcastic and told us that obviously we could see she had no towels, so she could not help us. The beach and Cours Saleya area is within walking distance, but a little far. There is another Mercure hotel right on the beach that would be worth looking into. They have a private beach that is not available to people staying at this Mercure Hotel. Breakfast was good- lots to choose from. Don't let the above comment about the girl at the concierge make you think twice about France, however. Everyone else was fabulous- including people at this hotel's desk. The French are so very nice. Katolla sijaitseva pieni uima-allas ja tuolit sopivat omaan tarkoitukseemme mainiosti, aamiainen ok joskaan ei mitään kasviksia. Huone siisti ja siivottiin hyvin joka päivä. Sijainti aivan keskustassa […] ratikkalinjan varrella, melko huonot äänieristeet ja ainakin toisessa kerroksessa kadun puolella sijaitsevaan huoneeseemme kuului välillä ääntä ulkoa melko selkeästikin.
