Shower drain blocked and bathroom not as clean as it should be for cost of stay

Won't be staying in a standard room ever again.....bed was riddled with bugs, curtain were held together with safety pins. Not a good look.

TV was new but didn't work, three adults in the room but only two towels, suspect bed bugs in the single bed as the person that slept there scratched all of the next day. Other than that the location suited well. It isn't five star but neither is the price. We will stay there again.

Room wasnt what i expected for a Superior Balcony Suite rather small Air conditioner was broken and leaking water bar fridge rather rickety and cabinet it was in wasnt maintained was disappointed with Iron as it just kept spitting out water. Bathroom never had a vent so fogged up constaintly .. $15 per night car park fee for only about 10 parking spaces […] and if there wasnt any available you had to squeeze in next to another car in drive and they moved it when others wanted to leave so chances staff drive your car around block or could smash it etc none of which is mentioned in advertisements or their website. They didnt change sheets next morning only remake bed only 1 towel supplied per person so females no hair towels supplied and no hand towels or face washers....A resturant/takeaway booklet like most other hotels/motels wasnt supplied and bed side table on one side of bed was broken off and not replaced and lack of power point especially near bed to charge phone and use as alarm ... Basic but spotlessly clean and all that you need in a short stay hotel room. Plenty of cheap eating places around, excellent transport, near Uni and all facilities. Definitely recommend for short stay, and good price.

Hotel was chosen mainly for location, that is close to Balmain area. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bed was terrible and sunk in the middle, thankfully I was on my own. Whilst hotels in Sydney can be expensive, I think this hotel is very over priced. I think it should be around about 1/2 the cost currently charged and rated as a 2 1/2 or 3 maximum […] star Lisez la suite

we did not get the rooms next to each other as requested with plenty of notice

The only concern I had was the street noise level. Not used to sleeping in a busy area our sleep was interrupted by sirens and traffic. Next time I would ask for an off street room. The customer service of the reception staff more than made up for this,

Although not a luxury resort, the haven inn is a great getaway for out of towners who want somewhere quiet yet very close and not inconvinient toward the CBD. Only a 10 dollar cab fare away. The staff are relaxed and all in all i had a good stay there. The hotel is in good enough condition to have somewhere pleasnt enough to crash, but if it's a luxury […] resort your after, you may not find it here. Otherwise it should serve you well. we stayed here in Dec 2011 and the room was not worth what we paid..Looking at the photo and then going in side were diff,the room seemed uncleaned .

The hotel was overrall tidy and was happy that there were the two beds I had requested on reservation.When I had requested for an ironing board which was not available in the room I was staying in I had one brought up to me immediately.I was not so happy with the light in the main room not working and the noise off of the street at night.I would recommend […] this hotel for anyone on a budget,great location close to transport but not necesserily as comfortable as I was hoping it would be. room is a bit dirty and neighbour very noise except the location is very near the city centre.

Gelbe is Great so Convienent, regular Bus and Tram service. Hotels >com accept our Requirement EG early Book In - Essential - However Hotel claims to know nothing about this. Very Dissapointing , also seems that I paid more through Hotels.com than if I had made direct contact. you get what you pay for, however 5 star was available in Sydney at a Lower […] rate that weekend ?????? Every thing was okay.

I only spent one night here and wanted to do one thing: recover from my long flight and jet lag. Unfortunately my room was on the street side and Glebe Point Road is rather busy. I was pleased with the front desk, as they let me have my room much earlier than the normal check in time without a fuss or charge. The place is well worn, the sheets are thin, […] and though clean on the surface, everything in the room was really used. A cheaper price than most, but I didn't feel like I got any sort of deal and think a single at a local hostel would have gotten me some more sleep. hottest day of year so far and air con not cooling. had to have soundproof door and window open so up all night with truck and traffic noise

Clean, comfortable hotel. Great location, big room for a small price, friendly staff, will definitely return.

After reading the reviews before hand we were very hesitant about our stay, but we found our room to be clean and comfortable and had great views of the city. The receptionist was lovely, we were even given a free DVD for the night. I would recommend the pub across the road for dinner and Naggy's cafe for a lovely breakfast.

Great budget hotel, clean, good for the price, fantastic location - ask for a back room if you prefer it quiet and dark. Family rooms were a good size and the double fair with a big bathroom.

Staff very welcoming late check out 11am near good public transport.

We were slightly earlier and were pleased when we were told our room was already ready. Unfortunately when we went to the room, the room had not been cleaned. We were not offered an alternative room but asked to wait for an hour whilst the original room was cleaned. We stayed there 5 nights - on two of those days our room was not cleaned, although […] on both days we were out for most of the afternoon. On the last day, the management promised that our room would get priority for cleaning - but had not be cleaned by early afternoon and we had to insist that the room was cleaned as we did not want to go out and find our room not cleaned for the 3rd day running. The hotel decor is very shabby and the curtains in our room were hanging very badly on the runners - our room was on the front of the hotel and was very noisy with buses and lorries strarting up and stopping form the junction on which the hotel was situated from early in the morning. We had to leave the air-conditioning running overnight - even though it was not wanted - to cut down on the worse of the traffic noises. Pluses - the hotel was right next door to the library with 7 days a week free wireless internet and a 5 minute walk from the Glebe Metro station – although quite a steep walk up to Glebe Point Road. Great staff - very polite and helpful; however the room was not very clean. Bathroom was ok, but I washed my hands after touching the blanket and bedding... My fingers felt greasy after touching the blanket and bed cover was in even worse shape. The room had very poor air circulation - it smelt moldy and was very stuffy despite us turning AC on as soon […] as we walked in. We stayed for one hour trying to warm up to it, than looked up another hotel and checked out as soon as we found one. Overall cleanliness of the place was fairly low, to the point where we did not think it would be worth asking for another room. I give this place 2 stars, definitely not 3.5.... P.S. This was a dirty run down hotel with no working heat in the room during winter in Sydney. The room needs cleaning and scrubbing with disinfectant before I would stay in it again. dirty walls and a filthy bed cover. I am still itching from my one night there.

This is a Backpacker hotel on a very noisy street. The Hotel is rundown and was up for auction during our stay. The rooms are not very clean. Doors and windows don't keep the noise outside. There is heavy bus traffic from early in the morning to late at night. The pool is OK but don't believe the pictures online.

This hotel is old and is in real need for an update. The room is very basic and it smelled for our entire stay which was 1 week. The AC didn't work, Glebe is a great place but this hotel is not worth it. For the same money we moved to a city hotel which was a lot better. Do not expect much from this hotel.

Vi fik først et chok da vi så hotellet, men da vi havde boet der bare en enkel nat, var vi bare vilde med området, personalet. Der var dog en del trafikstøj.

Für Sydney günstig, einfach aber doch sauber! Sehr nette Gegend mit vielen kleinen Lokalen! Für 1 oder 2 Nächte ok!

The Haven Inn is een eenvoudig hotel, met zeer vriendelijk personeel. De kamer wordt elke dag op orde gemaakt. De locatie is goed, gelegen aan een weg met veel eetgelegenheden en kleine supermarktjes. Doordat er bushaltes in de buurt zijn, is het gemakkelijk en goedkoop te reizen naar Darling Harbour, The Opera House, Circular Quey en winkelgebieden. […] Deze zijn ook zeer goed te bereiken met de trein, het treinstation is 3 straten verderop.
