"Go across the street to Best Western"
Oh my goodness! Where do I begin. I am not a particular person and usually if it has a clean bed and running water I'm good with that. But wow, this was rediculous! I had reserved this a prior to our arrival. When checking in, the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke to the point of making me nausiated. The hotel lobby/dining area was very nice though. Upon […] opening the door to our room, we got blasted with such cold air that we felt like we just walked into the walk in freezer. Seriously, they couldn't have even bumped up the room to 60* knowing we were coming. Of course the heater worked in the room but it takes forever to warm that area with that little room heater and we ended up going into that freezing bed frozen and with the pain of cold as my daughter and I suffer from raynauds (where our extremities freeze at 72*). Not to mention the light in the bathroom exhaust fan kept crackling like it was going to explode at any moment and there was no way to just turn that light off. Hot water in the sink, yeah better let it run for half an hour to get there, of course that cause our fingers to freeze even more so, not being able to have hot water there. Since the window unit didn't have a temperature guage, at 4:00 a.m. we awoke to a sauna in our room. At least it was better then a refrigerator. Upon going to dine at the continental breakfast. Well --- the waffle batter looked like it had been there a few days as it was beginning to separate. Then after making waffles from the fresher looking ones in the back of the caddy, there was no syrup to be found anywhere, not even under the counters. Of course to raise anyone at the front desk or even find anyone who worked there was impossible!! We even watched several other people try to find someone after we tried ringing the bell, calling the extention on the service phone, etc. Shoot, I even tried calling the hotel's direct line from my cell and still noone answered!! "Very Friendly"
Hotel staff were very friendly.The only bad thing was the pool was closed and the kids were looking forward to going swimming otherwise everything else was great.Continental breakfast was great especially those waffles.Would definitely stay there again
"The Econo Lodge in Omaha, NE"
The stay was nice, kind of smells different and the halsl were cold. But the people were nice, the room was clean and the pool and jacuzi was awesome for the price.
"Never Stay Here!"
First, the room was colder than outside temp. Pool temp was colder than 50 degrees, it took your breath away. No Hot water in the shower, and when I tried to call the front desk, the phone in the room didn't work!
It wasn't dirty,but it wasn't clean either. Never saw a clerk at the desk except at check in. Breakfast was very disappointing and didn't look like they bothered to clean up after people. Hairdryer didn't work and a bug crawled out when pulled off the holder. In all not somewhere I would stay at again.
"Good for a single night stay"
The heater in the pool didn't work so we were not able to use the indoor pool. It was too cold. The light in the bathroom was very dim and it appeared that the bathtub was not as clean as it could have been if the housekeeper could have seen it better. The sink drained rather slowly, but it did drain. The controls on the ac/heater would not turn completely, […] but we were able to achieve a comfortable temperature. The bed was very comfortable, and the room seemed to be clean overall. It wasn't quite as close to some things as it stated on hotels.com, but it was still within a convenient distance. "Get what you pay for"
Got a double bed room. The bathroom shower was a little dirty. Saw a few bugs. The staff looked like they were high. Can't complain too much because it was cheap.
Needed attention given to details concerning room maintainence, ie. loose wallpaper, loose toilet seat, marks on the wall.

only negative was that when I was ready to leave no staff showed up when I rang the bell. I would recommend it to anyone.
"Tired hotel, desperately needs some TLC"
When booking a hotel i'll always use Hotels.com's customer review score, and find somewhere with at least a 4/5 rating. I booked this hotel after reading a few reviews on the website. We often travel from Des Moines to Omaha for a long weekend in town, visiting the zoo and going to our favourite restaurants. It's my responsibility each time to book […] a hotel room for the family. We've had some bad experiences at some very nice (and far more expensive hotels), like the double tree on 72nd (great hotel, sadly parents let their children run amouk throughout the hotel). I booked the room, and while travelling to omaha we stopped and i used my phone to get directions for the hotel. I know my way around Omaha, but some reviews mentioned it wasn't easy to find (not too bad with the use of the gps function on my phone). While getting redirections i saw some reviews posted on google for the hotel, none of the reviews were very nice about the hotel so it worried me on how bad it would be. When we got to the hotel we had to wait for the front desk person who i passed having a cigarette break out front. When he did finally come back inside he said very little other than to ask for my driving licence and give pass me the room keys. Walking thru the hotel, it was clearly dated, not very clean and in need of some repair. When we got to the room there was a musky smell. The room had not been cleaned very well, the carpet had chips and toilet paper on it. The bathtub was extremely dirty, and broken, and my wife found a couple of cockroaches living in the bathtub. Turning on the TV brought me back to my youth when i only had a b/w tv with an indoor antenna, and very poor reception, only i couldn't move the antenna to try to get a better picture. The AC unit looked like it was original to the hotel, was extremely dirty, caused an ever bigger smell than the room already had, and was extremely noisy, so much so that it would wake me every 15 minutes when it turned on. My husband and I were just passing through for the night and needed a place last minute. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The first room they gave us was 'non smoking' but you could smell that someone was recently smoking in the room. The staff was very quick to reassign us a new room and appologized repeatedly. The second room was spacious […] and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was limited but for free I couldnt complain. If we ever pass through Omaha we will definitley go back to the Econo Lodge. This is a good place for the night if you are looking for somewhere cheap. No thrills, just the basics you expect.

I can't believe the high rating for this hotel, must have gone downhill quickly. Was put on second floor with no elevator, and the hallway was sweltering. Front desk staff was very odd and suspicious of everyone. To top it off was bitten by something, possibly fleas since they take pets. I still have welts after a week and a half.
When we arrived they were very busy checking people in but found our room had a very musty, mildew, moldy smell. The room was clean, the a/c was not pulling the humidity out of the air. The next morning at 8:15am-my husband went to the manager to check on getting a different room because of the smell. The manager said they were already booked-up for […] the night at 8:15 in the morning! I have COPD and really did NOT appreciate the fact that the manager had already gotten my money 10 days prior to our arrival and did not want to accommodate us. I will not recommend this establishment to anyone. There are several very nice motel/hotels in the surrounding area. (We had stayed here several years ago and had a very nice room then). Had a great time the people there are awesome , so friendly and the rooms were so clean. Nice indoor pool and spa. easy on adn off the highway. We will stay there again!

Remember you get what you paid for! There was no ac in the room and the room smelled of mold. We had to exchange rooms even in an attempt to find comfort in this hotel and altho the next room was cooler, it smelled bad. Service was horrible and the "continental breakfast" was stale cereal and muffins. The only thing good about this hotel was the pool. "Let Down"
Upon arrival at the hotel, at first the clerk could not find my reservation even with my confirmation code. When we got to the room, we a couple dead bugs in the room, trash under the bed, the fabric on the chair was terribly soiled. The bed felt as if we were sleeping in a hole. It was obvious that the mattress needed replaced. The only advantage to […] the hotel for us was the fact that it was centrally located for us in what we had to do for the weekend. When we asked the clerk for a couple extra pillows, he scoffed at us, and acted like we were disturbing him to go out of his way. For what we paid for the weekend, we weren't expecting the Ritz, but I was expecting decency. We feel like we paid to much for this hotel and service. "Econo Lodge Omaha Horrible"
Our room smelled like mildew and the AC didn't work. So we asked for another room and they said that they didn't have another room because we have a dog. Finally after a couple hours my husband had enough. So he went back to the desk and the guy at the desk told my husband that the manager was on his way that he would be at the hotel in 30 min. Two […] hours later still no manager. So the guy at the desk finally (around 10pm) gave us another room and the ac did work it just took forever to cool the room. "Not Prepared"
Took the clerk about 20 minutes to figure out my reservation, then when I got to my room it was a furnace. The A/C was turned off on a hot day. It took about 4 hours for it to cool down. We had to leave for a while because it was so hot. Everything else was ok.

We were switched to a different room because ours had a horrible smell and black flakes were coming out of the a/c unit. The staff overall was nice but the facility was very poor.

"HORRIBLE, NASTY..PLAIN OUT NIGHTMARE"
I have read what others have wrote and they are 100% correct..I have even complained to the corporate office about our experience... it was that bad.. The air didnt work, it was humid all the way through out from the pool that had NO ventilation what so ever.. They used actual bottle bleach to clean the pool.. I have picture of all of this... My kids […] eyes were puff and red and itchy and watery. my oldest was in pain all day after the pool experience...And about no towels they are right on that also.. we had none and they told use to get some tehy had to wash some so my kids had to wait 2 hours for towels...The creep that checked us in was doing god only knows what watchen the girls swim in the thier bathing suits and he sat there in his boxer shorts... yeah i said boxers too weird for me i paid way to much for this hotel... i wasnt expecting alot but this was redicioulous! "Econolodge J Street"
Good value for your money. Clean, friendly staff. Only complaint was that light in bathroom was extremely dim, otherwise it was a good stay. If you are looking for a room you don't plan on spending a lot of time in, this should be considered.

The bed was terrible. I didn't sleep all night because of back pain. The mattress was in bad shape and needed replaced. The bedspread had cigarette burns and turns all over it. we were travelling with the family on limited budget. We had stayed at many hotels but we were very pleased at this hotel, quiet comfortable rooms with complimentary breakfast. They had hot waffles and many other items. Kids enjoyed the pool as well.

I had to make a night stop on the way to my next trip and had great comfotable night, well rested for next days trip. They had a great indoor pool. Loved the hot waffles at Breakfast.
It was a nice stay. Excet for 2 things. We needed more pillows and they did not have any. The pool was a little cold for us. Other than that we have a good stay.

The room we got was great for the price. I actually expected a lot worse after reading some of the reviews on here. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast or the pool. My only complaints are that the bathroom was kind of dark, and the hall smelled like smoke, It was probably because there were smoking rooms […] right across from ours, but I also thought that was a little strange to have a non-smoking room surrounded by smoking rooms... This was a last minute reservation on an extended driving trip to the mountains, and, although the king bed was, well, a king bed, it was nearing it's replacement date, I hope. The breakfast was a complete disaster, with a coffee machine that would spit coffee concentrate, then fill the cup with hot water, not coming close to a proper mix. I also had […] to ask that various items be replenished, all requests met with a blend of indifference and contempt by the desk attendant who was busy in the back room with the television set blaring. For the price, the room was fine. We just needed a cheap place to stay the night -- and cheap it was. The room was only moderately clean, and the bathroom light was yellow, which made it seem dingy in there. The shower vacillated between scalding and freezing water, and whenever we asked the front desk attendant for anything, he seemed to see it as […] an inconvenience. This hotel is certainly not "dressed to impress" by any stretch, but it was warm and the bed was comfortable. Someone had even turned our heat on before we arrived so our room wasn't freezing.
