we were not happy @ all especially that when we booked it never stated that the hotel was under renavations...we went to check in also they said we had no reservations was a mix up...then we had a false fire alarm @ 1am....waited half an hour before going back in with no explanation.....i have a 8yr old that didn't go back to sleep @ all. the place […] was not at all what expected....at least are room was clean. sorry bad experience. Awful experience. the hotel is in a transition and it is a bad time to choose to stay here. we had a small group of five rooms, each of us had a very bad experience - all very different and all bad. construction goes on all day - one room they shut the water off during the work hours. no cable tv except 3 channels. dusty from construction jack hammers […] until 6:30pm Lisez la suite

I am a frequent traveler. I have never stayed in a Hotel that promises everything and get less than nothing. The hotel was under construction, the indoor pool was closed, the ice makers did not work, last but not least none of the televisions worked in the rooms. THE FIRST MORNING AFTER I ARRIVED THE PREVIOUS NIGHT I WENT OUT ABOUT 9:30 AND PUT THE "MAID SERVICE REQUESTED" SIGN ON THE DOORKNOB. WHEN I ARRIVED BACK AT THE HOTEL AT 11:30 THE ROOM HADN'T BEEN CLEANED. I SPOKE TO A DESK CLERK AND SAID I WOULD BE DOING SOME WORK AFTER LUNCH AND WOULD LIKE THE ROOM SERVICED AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SENT SOMEONE UP […] RIGHT AWAY. AFTER LUNCH I RETURNED ABOUT 1:30, STILL ROOM NOT CLEANED. THIS TIME I SPOKE TO A FEMALE DESK CLERK AND ASKED IF I COULD PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TAKE CARE OF THE ROOM AND SHE ASKED ME "ARE YOU STAYING WITH US?" IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUNNY IF I WASN'T PREPARING TO GO TO A FUNERAL. I FINALLY LEFT AT 3:30 AND BETWEEN THEN AND THE TIME I GOT BACK AT 8 P.M. THE ROOM HAD BEEN CLEANED. HALALUYAH. The hotel was being done over and our 2 rooms were next to a hard hat area closed off by plastic. The rugs and floors were filthy and they started working at 7 am when checkout was 12 noon. Place was in very poor condition. Need I say more.

We stay in that hotel las weekend .very bad condition and service. never stay at this hotel again.

The furniture looked beat up though it was nice an quiet. The room was not made up from our first night when we got back to the room at 8:30PM the following day. Almost no one was staying there, with good reason. It has large spaces and good location and could be a real treat, but current management is sloppy and they clearly do not care about the quality […] we expect from a Sheraton affiliate. I wish the reviews or the description of hotel on website had been clear. this hotel is under renovation. although it is open, it is barely taken care of. the room was dirty. under the sofa bed there was actual litter, pieces of paper, sugar packets, etc. the sofa bed was uncomfortable and the sofa pillows were opening at the seams. i was with my children […] and told them to keep their shoes on the entire time. the television only had a few channels and none were local. the pool area seemed dirty and the other guests there, using the hot tub were brushing their teeth in the tub and using tub water to wash their toothbrush and spit. the following morning the internet was down for the morning. i cannot believe was a horrible experience and worse that I paid for it. the hotel personnel did not even ask me how my stay was when I checked out. i think they knew what the response would have been. The hotel is in the middle of renovations for a new owner. Our room was old, the pool area was "scary" and the staff extremely rude.

Overall the hotel wasn't bad at all, but at no point was I notified that there was going to be construction going on in the room upstairs at 7 am on a Sat morning. Calling the front desk did nothing for me, as the most I could get was an apology and basically a "better luck next time" attitude. Since they are in the middle of renovations, this hotel was not in good shape. Room was not clean, however when asked to have sheets replaced, housekeeping was responsive. For the price I paid, it wasn't worth it. In good location to Stamford area.

The motel is in the middle of renovations and boy does it need it for the price.

This hotel is currently under renovation, to become a Crowne Plaza in the spring. Services and conditions leave a good bit to be desired right now. People booking this hotel right now should be aware that construction is going on and that things are not quite up to par.

Someone should have told us that the hotel was under construction and that services were limited.

This hotel is changing ownership and undergoing considerable renovation. During the changeover there are numerous problems, and the staff does not seem very engaged.

The air conditioning did not work and we were uncomfortable all night. The crowd that was there was very noisy in the halls late into the night.

The ice machine location on the 3rd or 4th floor could have been cleanier. Other wise the condition was was okay. The funiture in the lobby needs to be upgraded. It was very dirty with stains.

Our stay overall is fair but since the hotel is doing some construction at least they could informed us ahead. First day we cheked in I asked for a room that is away from noise or elevator but they gave us a room that is overlooking the construction by our window. So we called and asked to be moved and they did take care of changed immediately.

This hotel used to be called the Sheraton, and was in much better condition. However, they are under construction, so things could be better in the future. The first room they offered us was dirty and the toilet didn't work. The second room they offered us was ok, but a little small. The beds were new though, and much more comfortable than the last […] visit. They charge for parking, which I always think is wrong of hotels to do to their customers. Lisez la suite

The room was clean, but had very old furniture. The furniture was very old and had a wood table that was worn and chipped. Curtains old and torn. Beds were in very good condition and comfortable.

While I want to be careful NOT to accuse them of having bedbugs, it was a little odd to wake up two morns, each w/ a new bite on my face. May have been just a gnat or mosquito caught in the room, but was a little odd to happen two morn's in a row.

The hotel was under construction when we stayed here, but it was still super convenient. We just needed a place to crash on the way to NYC, and this fit the bill. The staff were courteous and helpful, offering to switch our room when the On Demand movies weren't working. Room service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious.

I just stayed here for one night and was very disapointed. The hotel is in complete renovation, looked almost as though there was a huge flood- the wall paper was all dirty and peeling off the wall, the furniture from several rooms was strewn around the halls and common areas, parts of the hallway was borded off and unpassable. I just feel that we should […] have been notified that there was so much construction going on..and perhaps our room should have been cheaper or the parking should have been free to make up for the fact that everything was in shambles. We stayed for one night as a family and it was very nice and not too far from New York City and the surrounding area. Everything was nice, except there is no free continental breakfast, unlike advertised on the hotels.com site. I stayed here last year, and really liked it. This year, it was dirty - the hall carpets were stained and very dirty. Our room had nuts on the floor and toys from previous guests under the bed. The housekeeping staff didn't actually clean the room each day, they just made the beds and left more towels - didn't even take the dirty ones. The air conditioner […] in the room didn't really work, but it wasn't hot enough to be a really big problem, just a little uncomfotable. We picked this hotel mostly for the location. We came from New York state for a funeral, and this was the closest to the cemetery. For the price we were paying for the room you'd think they could have at least had free local tv service in the room. The parking was extra, the room had stained carpets, and soot marks on the ceiling near the heat vent. […] The bathrooms were small, and the tub was stained. The hotel restaurant food was OK, but pricey. The service was slow. Our waiter disappeared during breakfast, and we had to leave our check with the front desk to make it to the cemetery on time. Also, hotel was not very handicap friendly. No wheelchair elevator to get to the lobby floor from the parking garage, just a long and fairly steep ramp. Lisez la suite

Very large hotel, usually pretty cheap, rooms are scruffy.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel with two young kids (1 and 2 year old). We had the most horrifying experience. Our sheets were dirty, stained (hopefully) with some yellow substance. Then we found a used condom laying next to the bed!!!! Disgusting, do they not clean or vacuum the rooms? I was so appalled and angry especially because we had two […] kids with us. They gave us a free night to stay and moved us from that filthy room. Needless to say things didnt' get better, our new room had dirty, stained towels. The front desk person simply said he was sorry and had new towels sent up. I would never stay in this hotel again. What a shame considering it's close proximity to downtown. Lisez la suite

it was very relaxing for a business trip. a mall near by a restaurants within walking distance. some place where i can also bring my kids

The hotel is very nice, especially the lobby, the rooms are comfortable nice bed. The one thing I did not like is the elevator we literally walked 3 blocks within the hotel to get to our room. Otherwise it is great.

The hotel's lobby is impressive, but the rest of the hotel is mediocre. The spa (hot tub) was undergoing repairs and the pool's water looked murky (yes, murky!). The gym is nicely equipped, but needs ventilation. The rooms are spacious, but furnished with antiquated televisions. The television's cable package was basic. A recent business trip provided me with the opportunity to stay at the Stamford Plaza Hotel. Check-in was very easy and the front desk staff was friendly. The property will soon be a Crowne Plaza (according to a banner hanging in the spacious lobby) - but I hope they don't compromise on the "small city" feel of the establishment. The only real challenge […] that I had was getting a cab in the morning - I'd said 15 minutes, but the cab showed up in 5 and left - so I had to get another. It was generally a very nice stay. I have used hotel.com 2 times - both times the hotels were under construction. I think that should be told to the guests before we book a room!

For Starters- $10 a day for parking in their own garage. Great way to get EVEN MORE money from you... Hotel service was mild mannered, definitely. Nobody was mean-spirited or curt. Nonetheless, they were just unhelpful. When I asked for a few toileteries to be brought up to my room, the man told me "I can't do that for you now" and left it it that. […] So, with the setup of the hotel the way it is, from my room on the top floor, it took 7 minutes to get downstairs. The room was not terrible, tha ac was. The on demand didnt work, we went through 3 rooms in 2 nights. Tje pool is not open enough. This hotel should not be 3.5 stars. If you really get a good deal, its not that bad.
