Bilderberg Garden Hotel - Amsterdam

This is a very good hotel with very friendly staff, the only problem we had was that there were mice in the room!!! we notified the reception who replied that they know there is mouse in the rooms and they will be resolving this issue but offered no further compensation or formal apologies!

cet hôtel est très confortable et situé à 10 mn en tramway du centre d'amsterdam. Un service de parking pourrait être envisagé étant donné le standing de l'hôtel (necessité de prendre un ticket de stationnement très onéreux à la journée ou obligation de laisser sa voiture dans des parkings publics très éloignés de l'hôtel.

Hotel ultra calme a 2 pas de 2 lignes de tram qui vous mettent à 10 min du centre. Dans un quartier résidentiel de standing. Proche des musées. A 5 min de la gare Sud qui dessert l'aéroport en 15 min. Chambres grandes et confortables. Pas à coté des bons endroits d'Amsterdam, il faut compter 10min de tram pour accéder au centre, sinon 20€ de taxi (le soir...). Sinon l'ambiance est très feutrée, le bar de l'hôtel agréable et l'accueil chaleureux (même si personne chez eux ne parle français). Bien que légèrement excentré par rapport au centre ville (20 minutes à pied jusqu'au musée Van Gogh), cet hôtel offre une qualité de service exceptionnelle. Environnement très calme. et surtout pour les personnes allergiques au gluten, le restaurant vous fera oublier votre problème. Merci

Trèq bon hôtel en périphérie d'amsterdam dans quartier résidentiel très calme. Il se trouve à 200m de l'arrêt de tram n°5 et n°24 pour se rendre au centre ville.

Very clean, nice hotel. Seems to have maintained its 70's charm. The restaurant was excellent. The bar was great and served food with an actual wood burning fire place. The staff was very accommodating. The neighborhood was stunning, but it was just that, a neighborhood. Perfect for me as I was attending a conference relatively close, but might be inconvenient […] for others as it is South of the city; however, the 5 and 24 trams go right by the hotel. This hotel would never make a 5 star hotel in SE Asia but the room was large and comfortable enough. Had some issues with the Internet connection but the main beef was the excessive cost for each day's Internet access. The position was OK - only just over 1km to the RAI and about 2 km to the city centre but in the middle of nowhere as there was no good […] restaurants nearby except for the hotel itself. We truly love this hotel : employees are kind and friendly, city is far enough to get some quiet and yet close enough to get there quickly by foot or public transport. We've already been there 3 times now, and certainly wouldn't search for another hotel in the Neighborhood. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and definitely worth the money ( you get […] a discount if you order the breakfast the day right before). The Bilderberg Garden Hotel is very attractive but not more than the 4 star hotels I am familiar with in Amsterdam. I only tried the Bilderberg because of their 5 stars and, frankly, I didn't see what was so outstanding. It was 10 euros to taxi into the heart of the city so if you figure 2 cabs a day times 6 days, it got a little pricey. Overall good place to stay. The rooms are more spacious than some and the closest tram is only a few minutes walk.

It is 5stars hotel ,but it looks like 3-4 stars, i don`t know why this hotel is 5 stars, but cosy and clean room. a restaurant and a bar, that`s it. no other facilities, near Hilton is better facilities. except price as 5 stars hotel, there is no reasn to stay here. Great hotel , I visit Amsterdam quite regularly and I'll be sure to always stay at this hotel, it ticked all the boxes for me.

The hotel is located in a quiet area which has other hotels and up market homes. It is a little away from the busy, noisy central area of Amsterdam but you can easily walk to it from the Appollostraat stop on the number 5 tram route. Trams run every few minutes. Not enough storage space - ok for a couple of days. Long way from the city center. You must take the tram or taxis, especially when it's raining which is most days! Restaurant was closed for dinner when we stayed there and there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

This is not a five star hotel. Do not be fooled. I would not pay more than Euro 65 per night. No atmosphere. No Restaurant. Better off in a three star hotel in city centre.

We had a great time in Amsterdam owing partly to our stay in Bilderberg Garden Hotel. Conveniently located close to the RAI where we had our conference, it was also conveniently located near a tram stop. An excellent hotel which was rather spoiled by poor overnight airconditioning - the room was excessively hot and stuffy, and the air con which was fine through the day was not effective - opening the windows provided relief at the cost of some traffic noise. Well located for a brisk 20 minute walk to the RAI conference centre, and good public transport […] tot he centre of town. Cheaper and just as nice as the "name" hotels. Language was no problem since everybody speaks English. The service was friendly and helpful.

I visited the hotel with my partner for our anniversary. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff upon arrival and during our stay were extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant breakfast was good, as was the bar menu and room service food. However, we didnt sample the restaurant in the evening as we decided to eat out at Leidseplein, […] a nearby nightlife and dining area, which costs about 7-10 euros in a taxi which can be ordered from the hotel. The hotel gave us two free passes to the Holland Casino which was useful. The nearest tram stops to hotel were about a 5-10minute walk. The trams were easy to use and only took about 10minutes to get to dam square. They ran (as far as i'm aware) until very late at night which was great. Would definitely recommend the hotel to someone wanting to visit Amsterdam, however I would probably not return as next time I would rather be right in the center of one of the nightlife resorts, the city doesn't seem to be too loud in the evenings. I had a tremendous time in this hotel. We could rent bikes from the hotel which was very convenient. Only issue we had was we were given a room directly above the kitchen to the restaurant. The walls were incredibly thin and we could hear dishes being clanked up until almost 11pm at night and in the morning as well which caused us to lose some sleep. […] Other then that it's a great hotel which is only minutes by bike from the main attractions in Amsterdam Lisez la suite

Away from the action but in a beautiful neighborhood and only 2 blocks from the Tram stop. We would definitely stay there again.

I came across the Bilderberg Garden Hotel while looking for an alternative to my company's usual choice (Ibis). The location was a little out of the way, out in the Museum District, but in Amsterdam you are never more than a 15 minute walk from anywhere. There is a tram stop nearby and we were able to buy tram tickets at the hotel and get helpful directions […] at the front desk. Parking was also very reasonable - a shock, considering what we have paid in other parts of the city. Since we were at work all day, we only paid for a few hours of parking in the evening. The room itself was very comfortable. It included a mini-bar, a spacious bathroom, robe & slippers, safe, internet access, and a lovely view of a quiet, tree-lined street. They provided an electric kettle and an assortment of coffees and teas and turn-down service with a fresh apple. My only complaint is that the restaurant was never open for dinner. One of the things that prompted me to choose this hotel was the restaurant's menu, but although the hotel seemed busy, we were told there were "not enough business travelers" to open the restaurant. The breakfast looked great, but at 22 euros, it should! We skipped that altogether. All in all, it was a pleasant change from cramped, noisy hotels in the center of the city. We loved our stay, but the hotel is not around the corner from food or a convenience store. The internet is ridiculously overpriced and slow. If you need a late night bite to eat or need cheap internet access, this is not the hotel for you. We loved being a few blocks away from all the action in SUCH a nice neighborhood, but if you want to be in the […] center of all the action, choose a different hotel. We arrived at 10 in the morning and asked if we could check in early. The receptionist was professional and polite and said that she had no standard rooms available until noon, but asked if we minded taking an executive suite. I cedrtainly did not mind! The hotel is beautiful, welll maintained, and the service is outstanding. The location is right […] on the edge of the downtown area, but on a quite upscale residential street. Very reasonable rates, Very helpful staff, free bottle of champagne delivered to our room for our anniversary--Thanks! Comfortable room and pleasant surroundings. Admittedly we wandered down to the hilton to use their lounge next to the canal (which was a lovely oasis). It's refreshing to come back to this nice clean hotel after a day of walking around and smelling the smell of the "coffee shops" in downtown Amsterdam. This hotel is located in a quiet, safe and clean neighborhood full of charming nice houses. The #5 and #24 tram lines are a short 5 min. walk from the hotel at the Apollolaan station on Beethovenstraat. […] #5 tram is what will get you into the downtown area and it's very convenient and comes often. Beethovenstraat street is also where all the shops and restaurants are - we went there often to eat and there is a grocery store (Albert Heijn), pharmacy (Etos) and a night shop there (in case you need anything late at night). The hotel is older but is very well kept. The rooms are spacious for Europe. Our few grips are 1) that the hotel restaurant is not open on Sundays for dinner, and the 24 hour room service menu is quite limited. However, the Hilton right next door does have a restaurant open on Sundays. But be prepared because both hotel restaurants are expensive. 2) Internet will run you an extra 20 Euros a day (I used Boingo and it cost $20 U.S., a little cheaper but still ridiculous) Breakfast buffet is good and plentiful as other reviewers mentioned but is quite pricey at 15 Euros a person if you book in advance. All in all though we'd definitely stay here again because it's nice to unwind back at a hotel that is away from the smell and hustle bustle of the downtown Amsterdam tourist areas. Lisez la suite

Booked this hotel at the last minute for an impromptu visit to Amsterdam. Staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. On a tram line into the city, we had no problem getting in and out of the city centre. The only thing I would say was the breakfast was overpriced.

Excellent Hotel. Modern rooms that were very clean and comfortable. Hotel location is great; close walk to museums and other attractions but away from the very touristy parts of the city that are noisy.

Very nice hotel, but the service was average. There was no concierge. Staff had to look up things that one would think to be common knowledge. Ate once at their restaurant which had been touted. The food was well above avg, but overpriced. The biggest sorce of annoyance was their outrageous cost for internet use. I could afford only 10 minutes, then […] went to an internet cafe. That being said, the rooms were top notch with a good selection of english speaking programs on cable. My friend and i went throughout europe and stopped at amsterdam...what a great choice it was. the hotel staff were TREMENDOUSLY helpful and nothing but nice! would recommend this hotel to anyone who goes to amsterdam!!!!

I was very satisfied with this hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful, and the room was a good size. The only downside to the hotel was that it was a bit far from the center of Amsterdam.

Flott hotell med god service og med utmerket beliggenhet, like utenfor sentrum. Noe som gjør at man får med seg områder som er verdt å se, ikke minst praktisk fordi man gjør ting på vei til sentrum. Tips: Lei sykler som fremkomstmiddel. Hilsen Trude og Liv

OK hotell för en vistelse i Amsterdam, särskilt om man inte har något emot en längre promenad, fast det går bra att åka spårvagn också. Internet kostar nio €, lite småsnålt i dagens läge Amsterdam Zuid är lätt att nå
