"Empire Hotel New York City"
This hotel has a great location just across from Lincoln Center. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small. The only problem was that we had trouble getting hot water in the sink and it took a while for the hot water to come to the shower. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
"Close to Lincoln Center"
We like this hotel when we come for events at Lincoln Center since it is right across the street. Main dislike about the hotel is how high everything is! Make-up mirror and door hooks obviously placed by someone quite tall. Also wish there were drawers instead of just shelves in the closet-chest. Service is good and no noise problem even though our […] room was right below the rooftop bar. Lisez la suite
"NOISE, NOISE ,NOISE!!!"
We Hardly slept the entire night since there was a very loud gathering outside our door. We called security twice. The first time at 1:30 a.m. the second time at 4:00 a.m. The manager was supposed to call me. I am still waiting for the phone call. Even though the location is so convenient to Lincoln Center, I will never stay here again.
"if you are here for the rooftop bar"
We booked to stay at empire for their rooftop bar but my husband was denied access due to the fact he wasnt wearing black shoes but because he was wearing grey dressy shoes. We tried to speak to someone at the front of the hotel but said they were separate from the rooftop bar. Now how is that if the rooftop bar is a part of your hotel facility? We […] paid money to stay at the hotel but others who werent even guests and didnt wear dressy black shoes were able to get in? We were very disappointed because it was the main reason we stayed at the hotel for my husbands birthday!! Lisez la suite
"Empire Hotel"
First time I stayed in a NYC hotel, so was surprised by how small the room was for the high price. Now understand that is typical in NYC. We had three people in the room and only 2 towels and wash cloths. Requested additional towels/cloth multiple times but never got them. The first morning there was only cold water. Found out later that if one takes […] a shower at a peak time, to wait for a while for other rooms to finish showering and I'd get hot water. Have stayed in other luxury hotels in different cities and the staff could not do enough for their guests, with little perks... expect to pay for everything here and WiFi prices are per device not room. If you go to the Mezzanine you can pick up the WiFi from Starbucks next store. I saw a doorman several times who never opened the heavy front door for a guest. This is not a hotel with perks and guest consideration. Only thing they consider is how much more $$ they can't get from the guests. Have been in 4 cities in 5 weeks and this was my least favorite hotel. The others had spoiled me :) Lisez la suite
"Nice hotel."
Nice hotel. Was annoyed when I was told that my room would not be ready for 2 hours when we got there 2 hours after we were originally told we could check in, so I went to talk to someone else & they "suddenly" had a room available! Also on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm there are free drinks on the rooftop deck......no one told us that when we checked in. […] We asked when we saw a line outside & by then there was no way we were getting up there. Small but modern, clean room in a decent location to the ANC studios where we were heading. The front desk people could be MICH friendlier but, hey what should I have expected in NYC?!?! Loved the little Italian restaurant across the street Fiorcello's, I think! Lisez la suite
"Practically Inn Lincoln Center Plaza"
About 300 yards from the front door to the Metropolitan Opera House. Nicely refurbished 2-3 years ago, but a;ready showing some wear. My room was small, comfortable, and fine for my purposes. The seafood restaurant on the 2nd floor was overpriced for the ordinary fare. There are alternatives up Broadway, particularly between West 75th and 77th streets. I […] would stay at the Empire again, but I will also check other nearby hotels. Lisez la suite
"Our Deluxe Experience"
The location was great accessible to downtown NYC. Staff were friendly. Our Deluxe accommodations was comfortable. The room was like a compact car. We had ample space with the view of windows and exterior wall. The top floor was not accessible to young children. The very small bathroom was not user friendly for young children. There were no glasses […] in the room to use even for toothbrushing. Toilet tissue were 1 ply, I think. Lisez la suite

"Loud Lobby, Poor Service, Great Location"
The staff at the hotel provided poor service. The doormen never opened very heavy inside doors -- only interested in chasing cabs. Mostly, they stood at the hotel's front door and talked. The check-in staff (all women) were rushed and rude. They offered no welcome, and never asked if we needed information or had any questions about the hotel or our […] needs. They made us feel like an interruption, made us wait for our room while urging us to "have lunch" on the premises. TINY ROOMS, not particularly clean, but we were grateful for 2 beds even though one of our beds was so tilted you could have fallen off. Did not love this hotel. Loved the location. Lisez la suite
"Perfect location and perfect staff!!!"
Wonderful location and the staff was soooo accommodating and kind! I left a piece of luggage and management sent it overnight at no charge to me! Who does that anymore?

"Empire Hotel - great location but rooms are so-so"
Could not be a better location for NYC. Lobby is well furnished and modern. Our double room was good sized but was dark and faced directly at another wall when they had said it was a courtyard view. Hallways are drab (who picks dark brown carpeting and wall paper?) but overall I'd give it a decent rating because of the location.
"WiFi should be free"
Empire is an excellent hotel, I have stayed there many times. Just one thing: It is time that Empire and other high-end hotels stop charging for their internet connection. In this day and age, it's like charging extra for soap. Some hotels get it, and have stopped charging extra. It's just a nuisance to have to pay for what has become an essential everyday […] commodity. Lisez la suite

"location is good"
location is good but front desk service needs to be improved
"Empire Hotel - nice place but tiny bathrooms"
This hotel is ideally located right across from Lincoln Center. For NYC, it's a calm and quiet neighborhood. The beds are very comfortable, if you like mattresses on the firmer side, which I do. The only drawback, for me, was the impossibly small bathroom to include a very shallow sink and zero counter space. Zero. Also, the shower is not totally enclosed […] so the floor can get pretty soaked. Not at all a good bathroom for kids. Lisez la suite
"THE LOBBY"
You notice that, the Empire Hotel is welcoming and cozy, as soon as you walk in the front door. The lobby and bar area are very elegant, which iprovides a wonderful space to entertain friends. We love all of the bartenders and the staff. They are extremely concius of pleasing their customers We always enjoy our stay and can not wait to return.
"Empire Hotel"
Our room was very small and extremely warm. The heating system is very dated and we weren't the only occupants that felt like we were in a sauna. Also the parking fee was not disclosed until we arrived. I found it to be one of the highest rates I've paid at a hotel.
"Not too bad, but not great"
It was a really nice hotel, great service. We got a free upgrade when we checked in, but we checked in on a Monday so that may have had something to do with it. One of our windows didn't stay open so we had to stick my shoe in it to keep it open. Keep in mind we stayed at this hotel in February and still needed to keep the window open because the room […] was so stuffy. One last thing was that the on demand movies wasn't working. I was on the phone with the desk about 4-5 times and even some IT guys and nothing worked. Overall, it was a good experience. The people that worked there were extremely pleasant and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and the environment was great. We saw an opera on the night of our stay and it was great that the hotel was literally across the street from Lincoln Square. My only complaints was the stuffiness, lack of working window, and lack of full TV service. Lisez la suite
"Empire Hotel"
The shower facility in my room was not contusive..half a shower door..
"Close to Lincoln Center - only decent service"
Hotel was clean and nice, decent size room for NYC and great location near Lincoln Center and Park. The check-in service was way too slow for a nice hotel and the room was not ready at 3:30 p.m. Front door and bellhop service was also spotty. The room was fine and bathroom had nice amenities, but it was uncomfortably hot in February and the heat/air […] conditioning was not very easily controllable. Overall, good, but not great. "Great place, location, rooftop, problem with room"
Great hotel, right across from Lincoln center, lovely views, wonderful lobby. The beds were firm but comfortable. Room was spotless if a bit cramped in one aspect (a pillar by the foot of the bed made it a bit awkward to move back and forth. The only bad was the shower bath was missing the left door, which made showering pretty messy,
"Location, location, location"
The Empire Hotel is supremely convenient if you are attending performances at Lincoln Center. Location is the only real advantage though. The desk staff were lacking in the most basic social skills and seemed challenged by the simplest question about the premises and the neighborhood. Quite surprising, really. The doormen, bellmen, and housekeeping […] staff were all quite pleasant though. The rooms are small (think Tokyo scale) and dark. (Is one working lightbulb in a 3-bulb fixture a cost saver or a reflection on the maintenance schedule?) Ed's Chowder House on the second floor provided a good pre-theater meal. Management needs to focus on training front desk personnel. Lisez la suite
"Empire hotel??"
As excited as I was about this hotel when I booked it my room was so small it was hard to walk around my bed and my view was a wall. Sadly that was a letdown for the price I was paying and the glamour that was advertised. Being on the tenth floor out Of 11 floors te aesthetic was nice in the hallways lobby and elevator. We went to the rooftop club/lounge […] and the crowd was very trashy and sleazy. I was expecting more fashion and class but got more bridge and tunnel plus the doorman was lame and made me walk around to get back into the line which we were already in and said something about having to pay a cover as I watched hoochies in polyester miniskirts from forever21 clearance walking through the door. It was fashion week and there was none to be had Lisez la suite

"Great hotel in NYC near Lincoln Center and Central"
We love staying at the Empire. It is a small hotel and offers a great location. The room are very clean and comfortable.
"Small rooms!"
The rooms were far to tiny! No space And Every reservation I made using the third party cc was a mess!
"EMPIRE HOTEL REVIEW"
The Empire Hotel was a trendy place. I liked where it was located & the people seemed to be friendly enough. The room was very small & tight for the price.. We had a broken shower, broken sink drain & the heater was blowing hot all of the time. we got next to no sleep due to the very hot room temp. The 2nd night we complained & someone came up & replaced […] the heater very quickly with another used or repaired unit. It worked well for about 2 hours & the same issue for the 2nd night. nearly no sleep. It was supposed to be a really nice weekend for our anniversary & the NYC part was still very nice, but the hotel was a disappointment. Lisez la suite
I paid for a suite and received a standard room. There was a cockroach in the room and need to call the front desk. One of the shower door was missing. Wasn't worth the stay.

Stayed last Saturday night. Location was good and the reason we stayed there. We were going to a show in midtown. Convenient. Nice lobby, bar and roof top bar great for the end of the night for us. Room was nice and a little larger than I expected based on other reviews, probably because it was a handicap accessible room, which we did not need or request. […] The bathroom had an open shower with no door or curtain which was fine. It was set up for handicap access. However, when you took a shower the pitch is such that the water flows to the rest of the bathroom. So you have massive water in front of the sink and the rest of the bathroom. They were fully booked and could not change the room. It was inconvenient. Just don't get room 837. Lisez la suite
"Empire Hotel in NYC"
The location of this hotel cannot be beat - across the street from Lincoln Center and surrounded by great places to eat - both fancy and casual. My room was comfortable and well appointed; service was great. I would definitely stay there again.
"Very nice, great value, great location"
Aside from tiny, tiny bathrooms (this is New York after all) the hotel and room were beautiful. Very clean, stylish, and up to date. Easily one of the best values in the city.

"Bring Plenty of Money"
Fair hotel in a great location. Bring plenty of money. There are lots of hidden costs.
"Location, location, location!"
We were convenient to public transportation and there were always taxis right outside the front door. Lovely little coffee shops, diners, bakeries, and the famous Zabars were just a short ride on the bus or a good walk. The area is away from the busier Times Square, Broadway, etc but only a short taxi ride away. We liked the safe yet well known area...we […] could see the Christmas tree at Lincoln Center out our window and all the sparkling lights of this pretty and welcoming area of NYC which is accessible to Central Park. The Empire Hotel served our purpose beautifully...we enjoyed the lobby area and restaurant as well. Lisez la suite
"Empire Hotel"
My girlfriend is a big Gossip Girl fan, so I took her here for a little holiday get-a-way. We loved NYC and the hotel was nice too. Downside - the rooftop bar is not owned by the hotel and drinks were very expensive (even for NYC standards) and they did not have a room ready for us until about 3:30 PM (Check-In is around 3). Upside - Great location, […] friendly staff and beautiful hotel. Rooms were small, but very well maintained. Showers were terrific and the concierge was very knowledge (but seemed to get stressed out quick). Overall, great trip and we wish we had more time to spend there. Lisez la suite
"NEW YEARS IN NYC"
The Empire hotel is was a great hotel to stay at when my friends and I were in NYC! The downstairs restaurant was great! The staff was very friendly and made wonderful drinks. Only complaint was the amount of time it took for receive extra towels, I had to call the front desk 3 times. Other than that, I would definately stay again!
"Beware"
I booked two nights for NYE; one of the reasons I booked here was the rooftop lounge advertised on the website. Both nights I was here it was booked for a private party, and not only was the hotel managent useless, they were very rude. "The rooftop lounge is under a different management group and is not part of the Empire Hotel." is what I was told. […] It is on the website as if it was part of the hotel. This place sucks. "Lovely hotel close to all ameities"

"Minimum Height Requirement"
The style and decor are lovely, but our room (at least) was not designed for people less than 7 feet tall. The closet clothes bar was over 7 feet off the ground, as were the hooks in the bathroom. I'm about 6 feet tall, and it was an annoying stretch. For my spouse, at around 5 feet tall, was unable to reach anything.
