Howard Johnson Inn Sandusky Park N. Entrance - Sandusky

Asked for a cot upon arrival, was told we could not have one because it was the last night of operation for the season and all cots were stored away. Someone else's cough drop was left to disintigrate in the corner of the bathroom floor, along with some one else's hair. Walls were patched with spackle.

This is a great location, but I wouldn't stay more than a night.

Love this hotel!! Excellent room rates being so close to Cedar Point!!!! Always prefer to stay here over any other hotel in the area. Remember you are only staying here for a night or two after a long, expensive day at Cedar Point so enjoy the price!

I would like to say that the convenience of where this is located to Cedar Point is perfect but it was old and dingy and not clean. The shower floor felt like I was gonna fall through and it was chipping. Convenience wise I would stay here but for cleanliness and a 2 star rating I would not. I wouldn't even give it a 2, it would be like 1 1/2.

The ONLY thing positive about this place is you can see the Cedar Point causeway from the motel lot. Other than that there is nothing to recommend this property for a stay. Not as shown on the site in photos, and the complete lack of mention of the fairly regular train traffice on Amtrak that runs no more than a mile from the back of the place at all […] hours is beyond excuse. We were satified with our stay. It is very close to the park and the price is right. Good hotel to use as home base for all day excursions into the park.

My family and I booked 2 rooms. We requested adjoining rooms, not only did we NOT get adjoining rooms but they weren't even on the same floor. However one of the rooms was adjoined to another guest that we could hear as if they were sitting in our room with us. The rooms smelled horrible, there was black on the walls, no tissue in the bathroom, and […] as if all of that weren't enough when we went to our rooms we passed a group of people sitting outside the room a few doors down drinking beer and smoking pot. The hotel was not maintained well - the bathroom looked disgusting we decided to not even shower because it wasn't worth it. There were bed bugs in the bed as well. I do NOT recommend this hotel!

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was poor and only until 9:30. Also there is a train that passes by quite frequently and is very noisy. If staying just one night the train may keep you awake. We stayed for almost a week so you sort of get used to it after the fist night and it isn't a bother.

our over night stay was good for the money we paid. One of the rooms had spider webs and the sink had a stain but other than that the rooms were nice.

I should have paid the extra $20 to get a better hotel on Rt250. Walls were paper thin, so were the towels. There were teenagers running around outside the rooms till 12:30am... I finally had to go out and tell them to play somewhere else. You could hear what people were talking about in the next room or what they were watching, finally just turned […] on the bathroom exhaust fan to drown out some of the noise. Lisez la suite

the location was great but i did not get a warm fuzzy feeling from the place or staff. good price but i would probably would stay somewhere else next time. i had a hard time locking the door and the room was way to plain. the bed was hard and the bathroom did not look clean.

We had a suite ( 3 beds and a sofa sleeper) I liked all the space we had...after going to the theme park..we needed a little alone time. The hotel was ok, I would stay again. It was quite and for the most part, clean

Very close to Cedar Point with comfortable beds at an affordable rate, enough said. The building looks a tad run down outside and the buildings around it are a tad sketchy but the bar/bowling alley/laser tag building across the street is a lot of fun. When my fiance and I were pulling up to the hotel we were very happy to see that it was right across from Cedar Point Dr. But, thats ALL that we were pleased about. The cost with tax for 2 nights was okay for one person but not cheap. The location was great. The room was not cleaned well....especially floors and walls. The complimentary breakfast was inadequate---3 things to choose from. I was not picky, so overall it was okay. Probably will not stay there again.

It was very old and wasn't very well lit in the parking area or next to the rooms. The wifi didn't work and it was small. Because it was so old it didn't appear clean. It was a place to sleep and it was very close to Cedar Point which was the purpose of the trip.

Personally, I remember HOJOS being a little classier (and I dont ask for much). The bathroom was FILTHY when we arrived, when I asked for a new room, was told that one was not available. They did clean it, but I was still put off by how dirty it was initially. And by FILTHY, I mean, FILTHY, not just missing my standards.

Hotel is older, clean rooms, basic accommodation. We had a problem with noise from an adjacent room, but the night porter called police and it was sorted quickly. Easy access to Cedar Point

Absolutely the WORSE hotel we have ever stayd at. Rooms were NEVER cleaned, we had 2 rooms connected, one room had the clothes hanger hanging off of wall and spiders in both rooms. We all had spider bites on us. I complained to the v staff in detail of what was wrong and we were thre to go to Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay so we did not take the time to […] stop in the morning until check out th manager was very rude and said that becaus the issues were not brought to her then they were not valid. Our family would not reccommend the Howard Johnson across the street from Ceder Point in Sandusky, Ohio. We were told our rooms were smoke free. We caught the maids smoking in the room. We were told that Breakfast with waffles would be served. All the guests staying at the hotel have access to one microwave and one toaster (which was broken). The microwave […] took 2x the normal cook time for things. Oh and by the way cereal was for breakfast or doughnuts. The food counters had not been cleaned in I do not know when. Our rooms were filthy. We had to keep our shoes on because the carpet was so sticky. We even switched rooms and it was the same thing, sticky floors. The hotel staff stood outside the rooms and talked about all the drama in their lives. They said they had roll a way beds but they were always out of them. Lastly you will spend about 20 minutes trying to pull out of the parking lot beause the line to go into ceder point is right there. Lisez la suite

The hotel is in a good location, right outside cedar point. Room was very dirty, didnt look like a vacuum ever had been on the floors. If I changed the TV channel, the air conditioner would turn off. Hotel staff very unfriendly. Pool area was nice, and the walls werent paper thin, so I didnt have to worry about hearing everyone else's conversations […] in the next room. Lisez la suite

I was greeted by a very friendly person at the desk. For the money no complaints about the room, was advised this room was recently renovated.

Thank God this hotel was deeply discounted. I saw the price rates on the hotel door, and I can't imagine anyone paying full price for the room I stayed in. The room was decently sized, however there were centipedes crawling around on the walls when I arrived...not exactly a comforting sight when you have to spend the night there. I've stayed at Howard […] Johnson before (in a different location) and it was actually really nice that time, so I'm not sure where the disconnect is here, but it's upsetting to know that the quality between two branches can vary so dramatically. Lights in bathroom didn't work. Room just felt old and dingy. Mold on ceiling in bathroom and in shower. Close to Cedar Point but I would rather spend a few more $ and stay at the park next time.

when first enter the room called the front desk to see if theire is onther room open ,front desk was not very helpfull at all ,the ansewr was that is the kind room you ask for .the room had only one chair for 3 pepole the chair had a big brown spot on it ,we had to slam the door in oder to close once the door was close we cloud see the day light throught […] the door fram so we had bugs in the room,we had no ic e box to keep food in it.the room was only pick up once throught out our 4 days stay never once was clean , we could have stay in a camp ground some where it propley would been better service also the room had only a fan for coling so it was hot to sleep ,we had to ask for fresh towles every day,the walls needed to be repair ,Whey is howard Johnson still open in such bad service not happy with the stay at all we know better for the next time. Room door was open when we first got their, and it was a humid day. Beds are not comfortable at all and poor to sleep on. We left a charger behind by mistake, when I called to ask if one was turned in they said I would have to call back and ask a manager. I even asked the desk clerk to just take a second to look and was told no. Yes it is close to Cedar […] Point, but it is not worth what they want to charge. My 2 kids and I stayed at this motel for a day at Cedar Point. Two nights was more than enough in what we called "The Bunker." The walls were lovely painted concrete. No WiFi is understandable in a lower priced motel, but I could not even use my cell phone unless I was outside or right at the front window. I made the mistake of walking on the floor […] barefoot (stoopid), then wondered why so much dirt came off my feet when I took a shower (doh). The beds seemed clean, and the pool was OK. The room didn't smell. The desk attendant was a bit frightening - we take a cot so the kids don't have to share a bed - we asked for an extra blanket at the front desk was was curtly informed they don't do that. This hotel was clean but old. Had trouble sleeping cause of local trains going by at least once every hour. If you are a light sleeper avoid this hotel at all costs. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location next to cedar point entrance.

All we were looking for was a place to lay our head at night after spending the entire day at Cedar Point, and this was good for that.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our trip to Cedar Point. You cant beat the location but our room could have been better. Our bathroom had old mould on the ceiling, you could see there had been an attempt to remove the mould but was unsuccessful. There were a couple holes in the bathroom wall. We did not have maid service at all and had to […] request additional towels and soaps from the front desk. On the good side, the beds were comfortable, tv and internet worked fine for us. The room photos show a desk and chair but we did not have either, would have been nice to have a couple of chairs so you didnt have to sit on the bed to eat etc. Breakfast was ok, coffee, tea, juice, toast, donuts and cereal. If you want more than that there is a McDonalds on the causeway to Cedar Point. The pool area was in the parking lot, not really appealing but looked clean and well maintained. Lisez la suite

Just outside of entrance to Cedar Pt. causeway. Bowling alley / bar / restaurant / laser tag across street. Pool area OK, always seemed busy. Plenty of parking. Wireless internet OK, able to watch videos. Had an inside corner unit. To use cell phone, had to leave room.

Room was clean, people were nice and ez to find. Would stay again.

The proximity to Cedar Point and dining was superb. The hotel staff was friendly and easy to talk to. The price was what drew me there, so that was excellent as well. I recently stayed at this The Howard Johnson's on Cleveland Rd in Sandusky Ohio. Never again. There were NO non smoking rooms or areas in the hotel. The train was very loud, breakfast was awful, the cable kept going out, and that wasn't the worst part, the worst was that I woke up and found that the bathroom was drenched from the ceiling, because the […] upstairs bathroom leaked through. I went to the desk and the woman said, "Oh Yeah, that happened in that room last week.
